There was a small error where I forgot to add a scene involving a truth bullet. I have added the scene, so now you all have all the information for the case. So sorry about that. Why do I keep doing this to myself?
Kokichi and I were about to head over to Kaito's crime scene, but imagine my shock when we ran into evidence right after we left Kaito's research lab. "Is this rope?" I asked.
"Sure seems like it." Kokichi smirked as he grabbed it. "Looks new, too. But why, oh why, is it tied to the door handle of Kaito's research lab?"
"It is strange. This rope is long enough to dangle off the railing by a few feet." I noted as I looked over the railing. "What was the killing doing, and why did they need rope?"
"Perhaps they didn't even get the chance to use it?" Kokichi asked. "There's no frays anywhere on it. Like I said, it looks brand new. I don't think it was used at all."
"Hmm…strange." I muttered. It's certainly a strange thing to find, but I should keep it in mind. After all, there had to be a purpose for it being here. I can already think of a few ways this rope might have been used, but there's just one problem with those ideas. Kaito's lack of injuries, and Gonta's body being in the research lab. Just what was this for?
Truth Bullet Obtained: Rope
"Let's hurry up and head down stairs." I said as I quickly walked down the stairs.
"Sure." Kokichi nodded before flashing me a childish grin. "Hey, Rinny. Can you give me a piggyback-"
"For the last time, no!" I yelled.
"Nee-heehee, you're so mean." Kokichi giggled as we continued our way to the second crime scene. After a bit of walking we were there, and the first thing I did was make a beeline for Kaito's body.
"Kaito…" I muttered as I looked at my fallen friend. I didn't let myself be engulfed by dark thoughts as I shook my head. "I need to focus on investigating…" With that said, I crouched down and began looking at Kaito's body. "Just as the Monokuma File said, he really doesn't have any external injuries."
"Yeah, but look at his mouth. There's a bunch of blood stains around it." Kokichi pointed out. "It looks like he vomited all this blood."
"All of it? But this is so much." I spoke with a sad whisper. "If he vomited all of this…then it's no wonder he died." I shook my head again as I continued. "Just like Gonta, it doesn't look like the body has been disturbed. No drag marks at all."
"There isn't a whole lot to see from Kaito's body, huh? I guess that means we need to focus on the important question during the trial: what was his cause of death?" Kokichi pointed out. "There's no signs as to what caused Kaito to cough up all this blood, so once we figure that out, perhaps the mystery surrounding his death will be cleared up."
"Maybe." I said as I put a hand over my mouth. What killed you Kaito? What could have taken you from us?
Truth Bullet Obtained: Kaito's Body
"Hey, look at this Rinny!" Kokichi called out as he picked up something. "This was near Kaito's body. I think it might have been something he had on him."
"Really? What is it?"
"It's a medicine bottle." Kokichi handed me the item, which was indeed a pill bottle for medicine I've never seen or even heard of before.
"Medicine? Kaito had this?" I questioned as I looked at the bottle's label. "Huh? What is this?"
"Did you find something?"
"This medicine is for harsh coughing fits and illnesses like that. In fact, reading this makes me think that if anyone had an illness that needed this kind of medicine, I could only describe the disease as deadly." I exclaimed in confusion. "If someone had such an illness and didn't get it properly treated, it would be…fatal. Why would Kaito have this?"
"Why? If Kaito was carrying this around and then dropped it nearby before he died, isn't it obvious what this is for?" Kokichi asked me. "Kaito must have been really sick."
"N-No! That can't be right! Kaito was… He was the Ultimate Astronaut! He wouldn't have been allowed to take part in his training if he was a very ill person!"
"Then perhaps he got his illness more recently. Like when he came here?" Kokichi suggested with an evil smirk. "He could have been sick this entire time, and none of us would have known."
"But…why wouldn't he tell us?"
"Kaito was an idiot, but he cared about everyone, right? Perhaps he didn't want anyone to worry about him. He did have medicine on him too, so maybe he thought he could handle it himself, but maybe he was overestimating his abilities? Or maybe he was underestimating his illness? Either way, this medicine seems to be a huge piece of evidence, don't you think?"
"S-Sure…" I barely responded as I stared at the bottle. Could that…really be true. As I was thinking this, I noticed something. I opened the cap, and it's still sealed. It's new. But if Kaito had this on him, and if he did have a serious illness, why wouldn't he take the medicine? Could this just be a new bottle he got after finishing the previous one? I felt my eyes narrow as I put the bottle down back where Kokichi found it. Perhaps I should give the medical room a visit after I examine the rest of the crime scene just to confirm if this is an unused bottle.
Truth Bullet Obtained: Medicine
I was about to talk to the other people in the room to check their alibits, but I noticed something shining that caught my eye. "No way… Is that what I think it is?"
"What's up, Rinny?" Kokichi asked me.
"I found a flashback light." I answered as I walked to the area right under the spiral staircase.
"A flashback light? What's that doing here?"
"No idea, but it's been completely destroyed, just like when Angie stomped on one." I said as I picked up the broken device. "It's completely unusable. Why is this even here? I didn't know there was another flashback we were supposed to find. Did I miss something?"
"No, I don't think so." Kokichi put a finger on his cheek curiously as he narrowed his eyes at the device. "Strange, don't you think? I wonder what memory was inside this flashback light. Too bad we can't check now."
"Yeah…" I sighed as I ran a hand down my face. "Why is this case suddenly becoming even more complicated than I thought it would be?"
Truth Bullet Obtained: Broken Flashback Light
"Okay, is there any other piece of evidence that I need to check out before I start gathering alibis or what?" I asked while rubbing my forehead.
"Actually, there might be, but it might also not be relevant." Kokichi told me. "There's this bottle that's been spilled on the ground."
"A bottle? And it was spilled on the ground? But I don't see any spills. I must have been water and dried already, or perhaps the bottle was empty from the start." I mumbled. "What kind of bottle is this?"
"It's just a normal bottle you would find in the kitchen, I think."
"Hmm…" It's just an empty bottle. It's hard to imagine it's part of the case, but I know better than to make such assumptions until I've examined everything I can.
Truth Bullet Obtained: Empty Bottle
"I suppose that's all the physical evidence that's at this crime scene." I sighed. "There's significantly less, and it just makes me even more confused."
"So I guess you're going to be questioning everyone that's here about their alibis, right?" Kokichi asked me.
"Yeah. Why do you ask?"
"Aww, it's such a shame, but I actually want to check something else out." Kokichi said with a conniving smile. "Sooooo, see ya later Rinny!"
"Wait, what!?" I shouted, but before I knew it, Kokichi was already out of the room, heading off to do who knows what. "Great… Now he's by himself." I groaned as I pinched the bridge of my nose. I don't know what kind of chaos he's gonna end up causing, but I don't have time to entertain them. I have an investigation to finish.
"Rin, is everything all right?" I turned my head to see a certain maid walk up to me with a concerned expression after I had groaned.
"I'm fine. It's just that Kokichi, the person who kept pestering me about investigating him, just ditched me. God… I know he's not too bad, but sometimes he gets on my freaking nerves." I held back a growl as I took a deep breath. "How's your investigation going?"
"Quite well. In truth, I believe I found something important." Kirumi told me.
"Important?" I asked.
"Yes. I grabbed it when I saw you and Kokichi come down the stairs. I couldn't risk it being destroyed by Kokichi."
"Kokichi? Why would he destroy evidence?" I asked. Yes, he was dick. Yes, he would cause scenes during trials. But I seriously find it hard to believe that mischievous kid would actually hamper with evidence… Unless… "Wait… is this…incriminating?" I asked in a muted tone.
"...Unfortunately, I believe it might be." Kirumi nodded as she took a scrap of white fabric out of her pocket. "This appears to be from someone's clothing. It seems to have been torn off by something sharp, though with how uneven and jagged it is, I think it must have happened during some conflict."
"White fabric from someone's clothes… There are plenty of us who wear white, Kirumi, both of us included. This is hardly incriminating." I told her in a chiding manner.
"Indeed. I know this; however, there are other things that make me think otherwise. I have already spoken to Shuichi and Tenko, and their alibis, along with a few more details I have found, makes me think otherwise. Kokichi, even if he is not the culprit, is highly suspect." Kirumi told me with a stern glance. " There is also the matter of this note."
"Note?"
"Here." Kirumi then handed me a small piece of paper to me. I let out a loud gasp when I read the contents of it.
'Rin is lying about the motive. He saw it, and is trying to commit murder on me. I don't want to die, and I need your help. Meet me near the spiral staircase so we can discuss how to prevent a killing'.
"This is..." I muttered with a grimace.
"I found the note in Kaito's jacket pocket." Kirumi told me. "It's clearly an attempt to incriminate you."
"So someone lured Kaito here because they thought I was planning a murder?" I questioned in disbelief. Who would do this? Who would trick Kaito into believing such a thing!? I would never! But... Wait... "This letter has something strange about it."
"Strange?"
"It mentions something no one should have known." I explained. No one should know about the motive...except for me...and one other.
Truth Bullet Obtained: Kaito's Note
"...Perhaps you're doubts about Kokichi are founded after all." I sighed as I placed the note back in Kaito's pocket so the others could see it during their investigation.
"If that's the case, then please allow me to aid in your investigation. While you are free to dismiss my opinions and thoughts, having someone investigate with you could still give you insight and clarity on the case you might not have gotten by yourself." I stared at Kirumi with a raised eyebrow before sighing again.
"Fine. I don't mind. Even if I have my doubts, I do trust you. Your insight on things is quite good, and it could help me figure this case out." I said before giving her a light smile. "Thanks, Kirumi. You're a good friend."
"Of course." Kirumi nodded, though she had a small frown on her face that was barely noticeable. "So, what will you do now? I heard you say you had finished examining the rest of the physical evidence in this crime scene, and I assume you have already examined Gonta's crime scene as well."
"Yes… That is the question." I nodded as I thought for a bit. "I still need Keebo's alibi, but after that, I want to check out two other places. The medical room I was in after Angie almost killed me, and Shuichi's lab."
"Why those places in particular?" Kirumi questioned.
"You saw that pill bottle near Kaito's body, right? I opened it up and saw it was still sealed."
"Sealed? But why? I thought Kaito must have been ill and has been taking the pills as instructed on the bottle."
"That's what I thought, but if it's sealed, we're clearly not understanding something. That's why I want to check the medical room, so I can gain a better understanding about the pill bottle if possible. As for Shuichi's lab, that's mostly in case my worries about the medicine are correct."
"And what are those thoughts of yours?"
"Kaito might not have been sick. He could have been poisoned somehow."
"Poison?" Kirumi asked before her expression lit up. "Shuichi's lab is stocked full of many different poisons. One could easily make it appear Kaito had died of an illness, when in fact he died of poison."
"Exactly. If that's what happened, then we should find some kind of evidence in Shuichi's lab."
"If that's the case, then that'll give us Kaito's cause of death, which was omitted from the Monokuma File. Judging from the last case, whatever is omitted from the file is a key part of figuring out who the culprit is."
"Yeah. Kiyo's case hid the time of death, and Himiko's case hid the cause of death. This case isn't different."
"Hmm…very well. Let us continue our investigation then."
"Right." With that said, the two of us walked over to Keebo, who seemed to be deep in thought about something. "Keebo. Do you mind if I ask you about where you were when the crimes occurred?"
"Oh, Rin. Sure, I do not mind." Keebo said as he was brought out of his train of thought. "My alibi…I suppose I do not really have one. I was by myself when the murders happened."
"Alone, huh. That's a shame." I frowned. "But it's not like you can actually kill someone right? There are the laws of robotics to consider."
"How robophobic! I am not bound to those laws! Other than my entire body being mechanical, I am just like all of you!" Keebo yelled, getting an amused eye roll from me.
"So you're saying you're totally fine and capable of killing someone else? Gee, Keebs, if I didn't know any better, I'd say that's almost an outright confession of guilt." When I told him that with a shit eating grin on my face, Keebo started sputtering in a panic.
"Wha-!? I did not-! You-! But I would-! But I mean…"
"Calm down, Keebo. Rin was just messing with you, though it was rather mean of him." Kirumi told him while shooting me a disapproving glare.
"Hey, I was just getting a little tired of him using robophobia as a defense for things. Yes, Keebo is just like us, but he's still a robot. 'Course, he's a robot that doesn't follow those rules, but I doubt Keebo actually has it in him to do stuff like that. And I don't have any evidence to suggest he did so in this case, so it was all in good fun." I shrugged. "Still, I guess I'm sorry for accusing you, dude. No hard feelings?"
"N-No…" Keebo sighed. "I was just not expecting that from you. That sort of joke is something I would imagine Kokichi pulling, not you."
"Really? Maybe he's rubbing off on me, and not in a good way." I mused before something hit me. "Speaking of him, Kokichi told me he came to visit your lab. Apparently, he cut himself on some of the stuff there. Did he tell you about that, or did he enter your lab without permission?"
"What are you talking about?" Keebo asked me with a confused look. "I was alone in my lab for most of the day."
"...Huh?" I tilted my head in confusion when I heard that. "Wait, you were in your lab the whole time? And…you didn't see Kokichi at all? Not once?"
"No. I would have known if someone is childish as Kokichi came into my lab and caused a ruckus." Keebo replied.
"If Kokichi did not go to Keebo's lab, then what he told Rin must have been a lie." Kirumi explained the simple contradiction. "But that begs the question of what caused that injury that Rin saw on Kokichi. Perhaps what I said about the scrap of cloth was more accurate than even I thought."
"..." I put a hand on my chin as I thought about what Kokichi said. Kokichi lied, huh? I really shouldn't be too surprised. Well, I guess I'm not in hindsight. It's not such a big shocker. The real thing that bugs me about this lie in particular is what it might imply. Kokichi…
Truth Bullets Obtained: Keebo's Account
"Rin, let us go to the medical room now since we have Keebo's testimony." Kirumi told me, bringing me out of my thoughts.
"Right…right." I nodded as I walked out of the room, Kirumi following right behind me as I did. It didn't take too long for us to get to our destination. It's just like it was when I was here last. I visited the medical room after I left the virtual world, so that was after the crime, and nothing was out of place then either. "There's the shelf that's full of medicine." I said as I moved over to the shelf near the bed. "If that bottle of pills came from this room, that's where Kaito would have gotten it."
"Hmm…Rin, look here. I found a list of the medicine that's been stocked here."
"Really?" I shot around to look at Kirumi, who was holding a clipboard and looking at it with a furrowed brow.
"Interesting…" She muttered before offering me the clipboard. "Take a look at this. This will be an important piece of information."
"Okay." I took the clipboard from her and began skimming through it. It didn't take long for me to find the medicine we had found near Kaito's body, and that's when I saw the important piece of information Kirumi was talking about. "Only one bottle was stocked, huh?"
"That appears to be the case. It seems your poison theory is becoming more and more likely." Kirumi noted with a look of displeasure. "It seems Kaito might have died in a very unpleasant way."
"Yeah…" I responded with a sense of dread. There was only one of those pill bottles, and it was still sealed. I can only imagine a few reasons for that, and most of them point to someone fabricating evidence. That would mean… "I need to check out Shuichi's lab."
"It should be on the 5th floor, correct. I believe we can go there and investigate before our time is up."
"Then let's hurry. Knowing Monokuma, he'll stop the investigation right when we're on the verge of discovering something important." With that in mind, we hurried off to the 5th floor. The moment we arrived at the floor though, before we could even look in the direction of Shuichi's lab, something strange caught our eyes.
"What in the-? What happened to the stained-glass window?" Kirumi questioned as we stared at the gaping hole in the window behind the Monokuma angel and devil statues.
"It's definitely strange…" I noted with a confused glance. "Let's get a closer look. It might be important."
"Yes. Let's." We moved towards the window, and I felt more confusion when I got a clearer view of where the glass broke.
"There's glass on the floor here." I muttered as I picked one of the shards up to look at it closely. It was definitely from the window, no doubt about that. But why?
"For what reason would someone have to break this window? I cannot think of any possible reason." Kirumi stated.
"Neither can I…" I replied. It's almost out of place in this case. I can't tell how it's involved at all, but…I better keep in mind in case I need to.
Truth Bullet Obtained: Broken Window on the 5th floor
"Let's hurry up. I don't want to get distracted and miss whatever might be in Shuichi's lab." I told Kirumi as I pried my eyes off of the broken window.
"Y-Yes. Let us hurry." She nodded nervously, looking at the glass with an expression of dread. "Still, I cannot help but wonder about this."
"Me too, but we can't stay here and theorize about it. We can save that for the class trial."
"I suppose so." With that, the two of us walked over to Shuichi's lab, and as soon as we stepped inside, I walked over to the shelf of poison.
"Well well, look at this." I shouted for Kirumi as I picked up a bottle. "Check out what's staining this bottle."
"Is that…blood?"
"Yep. No doubt about it. It smells like it, and it certainly looks like it too. If this isn't blood, I'll eat my foot." I told her as I read the poison's description. "This poison is extremely lethal. It can be consumed by any means, and once it's inside, it'll kill the victim practically instantly."
"How awful…" Kirumi grimaced.
"Hmm…side effects include vomiting blood, shortness of breath, and constricted eyes apparently." I added.
"Vomiting blood? That describes what seems to have happened with Kaito." Kirumi stated.
"Yeah. It seems we have our answer. This poison seems to be our culprit." I nodded as I took another look at the bottle. I was confident this was the answer. So why? Why did I feel like I was still missing something?
Truth Bullet Obtained: Bloody Bottle of Poison
Ding dong bing bong.
"Are you guys tired of investigating yet? Cause I'm tired of waiting for you!" Monokuma shouted when the monitors turned on. "I'm sooooo bored! Hurry up and head over to the class trial grounds! If you're late, you'll be sorry!" With that, the monitors shut off, leaving us in silence.
"So it's time. Time for us to do that awful class trial again." Kirumi spoke through gritted teeth. It was understandable. It was only her second class trial. I would feel the same if I were her, but after all, you sort of just become numb to the class trials. It's sad, but it's true. I hate that fact, but it's true. I hate these class trials, but I can't be bothered to care about that when I'm too focused on solving this case so we can survive. That's the cruel nature of this death game. It forces you to not care after a while.
"We have to go. If we don't we'll die, and Kaito and Gonta would have died for nothing." I told Kirumi. "We have to find the truth. That's what matters right now. Even if we're drowning in pain and despair, we just have to force ourselves through."
"You…You are right…" Kirumi grimaced. "Then…let's be on our way."
"Yeah." I replied as I led the way. Neither of us said anything as we headed down the stairs. Soon, we exited the academy, and we found ourselves at the Shrine of Judgment. Everyone was already there, and they had similar looks of displeasure and sorrow. Except Kokichi, because of course.
"Is this…really all of us?" Shuichi asked when he saw Kirumi and I arrived. "There's…so little of us compared to when we started."
"We started with 17, and now we've lost 8 people. There's only 9 of us left." Kaede frowned as she held her arms sadly.
"...Why can't this game end? Why must we always go through this?" Tenko asked with tears in her eyes.
"Why would you want to stop? This game's just getting to the good part!" Kokichi shouted with a smile. "We can't let the fun end here, now can we?"
"Can you not spout stuff like that right now? We're already feeling tense as it is." Rantaro complained.
"Let's just hurry up and head down. The sooner we get this over with and survive, the better." Maki grumbled as she stepped onto the elevator that was waiting for us. None of us really argued as we took turns entering the elevator. The moment we all stepped inside, the elevator lowered, just like always. None of us spoke as the elevator descended. Instead, we all focused our thoughts about the case and the trial awaiting us. It was nerve racking, and I couldn't tell if it was the elevator clattering or my teeth. And before I could get a hold of myself, the elevator stopped, and then light poured inside as the doors opened.
"Welcome! Go ahead and stand behind your podium! Let's kick this trial into high gear, so get moving!" Monokuma shouted with excitement. Meanwhile, Monodam, who was also there, just sat at his spot, not speaking or moving. He seemed completely uninterested in everything. I don't blame him. Without wasting any time arguing with Monokuma, we each got to our stands. There were more portraits, of course. There was Himiko's, whose picture had two magic staffs crossing to make an 'X'. Kaito's had to spaceship's that were flying by each other crossing his face, with their exhaust creating the 'X'. Gonta's 'X' wasn't actually an 'X', it was the horns of a beetle covering his face. Monotaro and Monophanie also had portraits, with Monotaro having a ninja star covering his face and the head of a flower covering Monophanie.
Kaito and Gonta are the victims this time around. Kaito was the soul of the group, keeping us all together and constantly encouraging us. He was the type of guy who wouldn't stop until he had helped you overcome your worries. Gonta, on the other hand, was the heart of the group. He was so kind and gentle. He wouldn't even hurt a fly. He wanted nothing more than to protect us. These two were murdered. Brutally at that. And the kill could be any one of us. I need to find the truth, not just from them, but for myself. I won't accept what happened until I see the truth with my own eyes. And once I'm done, I'm going to end things. I'll find the real truth, and solve the whole mystery of this killing game. I swear, I won't let anyone else become a victim. As Rin Wakuri, I swear on my name, talent, and soul. No one else here…none of my friends will have to die after this trial is over. I promise.
So, the heartless trial of blood and despair began. The tasteless dance of senseless violence began its next show.
Truth Bullets
1. Monokuma File 4: The victims are Kaito Momota, the Ultimate Astronaut, and Gonta Gokuhara, the Ultimate Entomologist. Kaito's body was found at the base of the spiral staircase, and Gonta's body was found in the Ultimate Astronaut's Research Lab. Kaito's estimated time of death is noon, while Gonta's estimated time of death is 12:10 pm. Kaito's body had no external wounds, but there are signs of internal scraping in his throat, as well as clumps of blood in the throat and mouth. Gonta's body has multiple slashes and cuts over his entire torso and arms, but his cause of death is the single large and deep laceration from his right shoulder blade to his left hip, causing major blood loss and shock.
2. Rope: there is a rope tied to the outside handle of the door to the Ultimate Astronaut's lab.
3. Dying message: next to Gonta's body is a message written in blood. It says 'Maki'. Most likely a forgery due to Gonta's hands having no blood on them.
4. Bloody bottle of poison: there is a bottle of poison that was found in the Ultimate Detective's lab that had hints of blood on the bottle, though they are very faint. The poison seems to have been used, as there is less in the bottle than before. The poison is supposed to cause a quick death, and the side effects of it include vomiting blood, shortness of breath, and constricted eyes.
5. Medicine: There is an unopened bottle of medicine next to Kaito's body. The medicine appears to be for coughing diseases and conditions, some of which are deadly if not treated. The medicine does not appear to have been used and there has only ever been one bottle of this type of medicine.
6. Bloody seat in rover: inside the model rover in the Ultimate Astronaut's lab, there is a large blood stain on the seat.
7. Rover glass lid: The rover has a glass lid that can be locked from the inside. The glass is tinted, preventing anyone from seeing inside unless they open the lid, and the glass itself is nearly indestructible through normal means as it uses the same material real rovers sent in space would use.
8. Broken flashback light: there is a flashback light at the base of the spiral staircase. It's been broken beyond comparison, making it impossible to know what it contained.
9. Kaito's body: Kaito was found face first in a pool of his own blood. There are traces of blood found around his mouth, suggesting he threw up the blood. However, there is no injury or any indication as to why he would have vomited blood in the first place
10. Gonta's body: Gonta's body is covered in slashes and cuts, all of which look like defensive wounds caused by a struggle of some kind.
11. Signs of a Struggle: There was evidence of some sort of struggle within Kaito's research lab. Many parts of the walls and floor were damaged and scratched with some kind of weapon, the planetarium device was also broken due to some kind of damaging blow. The rover vehicle within the lab also suffered similar damage on the outside shell.
12. Kaito's note: there was a note found in Kaito's coat pocket. It says this: 'Rin is lying about the motive. He saw it, and is trying to commit murder on me. I don't want to die, and I need your help. Meet me near the spiral staircase so we can discuss how to prevent a killing'.
13. Empty bottle: there is an empty bottle at the base of the spiral staircase. The bottle seems to have been dropped, and all its contents have now spilled out onto the floor.
14. Broken window on the 5th floor: The large stained glass window on the 5th floor has been shattered. There are multiple glass fragments of the window scattered about in front of it.
15. Kaede's account: Kaede and Shuichi were together when they found the body. They were heading to the Ultimate Astronaut's lab to investigate it, since they hadn't gotten the chance yet, but they stumbled upon Kaito's body, causing the BDA to sound out. Shuichi believed that maybe the culprit might be at the top of the stairs, so the two of them ran to the 6th floor. Upon entering the lab, they found Gonta's body, once again causing the BDA to sound out.
16. Bloody piece of white fabric: There is a small, bloodied piece of clothing at the base of the spiral staircase. It looks like it was cut off as a result of an attack, as the cloth isn't cleaning cut.
17. Rantaro's account: He and Tenko were together on the 3rd floor before the BDA. they hadn't seen anyone come or go before the announcement. After hearing the BDA, the two of them rushed to the staircase with Maki, who they saw exit her lab after the BDA.
18. Keebo's account: Keebo was alone in his lab before the BDA. he was examining the technology inside the lab before he left due to the announcement.
19. Rin's account: Rin was alone in the virtual world for most of the day. After he left, he headed down to the kitchen and ran into Kokichi, who pulled a prank using an injury he had gotten on his forearm. The two of them were together when the BDA rang out, and they rushed to the scene together.
Author's Note: Hello! It's me, the author, back at it again. I just wanted to say thank you again to everyone who's read the story, commented, shared, and anything else to support this story. It really means a lot to me that so many people have shown support for this little side project of mine that I only started writing mostly to get a basis in writing Danganronpa types of stories. This was just supposed to be a prototype, really. Just me testing out one of my OCs and seeing if I could write decent mysteries. This 'small thought' of mine, if you will, is now so much bigger than I thought it would be, and it's been a blast writing it, and I'm so glad so many others seem to like it too.
I'm mainly writing this because I think I won't have another A/N like this until the story is over. I'm gonna try to just push through until the end since it's in sight (something I never thought that would happen if I'm honest). Well, I'm going to try to push through until the end of this story if I don't get sidetracked with other little stories I've wanted to write (I have a problem send help plz). I honestly wanted to answer and address things that I've seen people comment on lately and questions I've seen asked, but I've decided to just wait until after the story is finished. Then I can do a Q/A type of thing to go along with the few extra stuff I have planned.
To just briefly mention the next two arcs after this trial, I will say I spent a lot of time debating with myself about them, and there might be some things that some people don't like about them, however, I'm sticking with my guns with those arcs. I wanted to have fun with this story, so by golly, I'mma have fun with it. I've been waiting to write those arcs, and even if they're not what you wanted, I hope you still enjoy them. The ending is near, and I can't wait to see you then.
