Chapter 15: Jet the Freedom Fighter

(Special Guest: Bowser Jr's Descendant as Kibo Nagare)

Location: Los Angeles, California

The sun was beginning to rise when Jonathan made it back home. He drove quickly to his house as fast as he could but the traffic in the highways didn't help his anger any bit. He tries calling his wife multiple times but it always goes to voice mail. If he can't get to her on phone, he'll get to her personally. He luckily got out of the interstate and begin to speed up to his neighborhood as fast as he can before hitting a stoplight. He starts swearing loudly, hitting the steering wheel with all of his might. He doesn't know how he's going to react once he gets back home, whether cry in front of them or just yell at anyone in his puerperal vision. He needs to find his girls and have a talk with his wife, who has been neglecting since the day Ricky was born. If only he could tell the truth to his son before he'd pass away if only he could tell him all the things he had kept hiding from him. If only he could tell him, what happened on that day he was born.

"Ricky, forgive me for not being there for you," he murmurs grimly.

Location: Earth Kingdom

The cool breeze was brushing through the woods as Sokka and Ricky place down the firewood, Katara and Sari were sitting talking to one another, however, Aang looks around with confusing expression.

"Where's Momo?" Aang asks.

Everyone stop what they were doing, only to notice that their flying lemur friend wasn't with them.

"Momo?" Aang called out only to hear a high-pitch screech calling out.

The Gaang begins to search for Momo, only to look up to see Momo was trapped by a sphere metal cage. Aang's eyes widen in shock.

"Hold on buddy! I'm coming!" he yells.

Everyone finally met up to see Aang jumping from trunk to trunk before grabbing one of the branches and begins to crawl towards the trap. He begins to undo the mechanism and starts to lower the trap down to the ground. Momo quickly got out of the trap as it set foot, eating his berries. Sokka facepalms loudly at the realization of Momo's sheer stupidity. Aang looks up to see the other primates screeching from their prisons.

"Don't worry, you guys are next," Aang says.

Sokka sighs annoyingly, "This is going to take forever," Grabbing his boomerang and throw it at the hanging cages snapping them, quickly falling towards the ground.

"That works," Aang says as he starts to climb down.

The hog monkeys begin to run away from the traps as the rest of the Gaang begins to surround one of the traps.

"It's made by the Fire Nation," Sokka examined, "You can tell by the craftsmanship on the metal. We should get moving."

Everyone nods in agreement and begins packing their things on Appa. Everyone was about to climb on the sky bison, Sokka stops them.

"No way, we're not flying on Appa this time."

"What, why not?" Aang asks.

"Think about it: every time we fly on Appa, Zuko somehow finds out where we are. He's just too noticeable."

"Appa's not too noticeable!" Katara argues.

"He's a giant hairy monster with a giant arrow on his forehead! He's pretty noticeable," Sokka counters.

"He's just jealous because he doesn't have one big buddy," Aang says to his pet bison.

"Highly doubtful," Ricky disagrees.

"Oh, and do you know how they keep finding us?" Sokka asks curiously.

"Easy. It's because news spread like wildfire," Ricky answer.

"How does that answer anything?!"

"Simple; whenever we're in town, news about us goes on saying about our whereabouts and the news catches on to Zuko. Take Kyoshi Island for example. How else do you think, besides Appa, knew where we are?"

"He's got a point," Sari agrees "It makes a lot of sense."

"Doesn't matter, I say we aren't going to ride on Appa. My instincts say so," Sokka says.

"Who put you in charge?" Katara scoffs.

"I'm not the boss, I'm the leader."

"You? A leader? Your voice still cracks," Katara laughs.

"My voice doesn't crack!" Sokka complains, his voice cracking "I'm the oldest and the warrior, so I'm the leader." His voice deepens.

"Technically, I'm sixteen years old and your fifteen. So that makes me or Aang the leader," Ricky made a point.

Sokka glares at the blue firebender. "Aang's a goofy kid and you're—"

"He has a point" Sari interrupted, "I say we make Ricky the leader."

"I make that notion," Katara agrees.

"Look, no one is going to vote who's going to be the leader. I say are not going to ride on Appa," Sokka says firmly.

Katara groans "Why do boys always have to be in charge? I bet you haven't kiss a girl if you weren't so bossy."

"I have too kissed a girl. You just haven't met her," Sokka says defensively.

"Who Gran-Gran? We've met Gran-Gran," Ricky asks jokingly.

"No, besides Gran-Gran," Sokka denies. "Look, my instincts say that we should walk on foot. And a leader must follow his instincts."

"Whatever you say, oh wise leader," Sari says sarcastically.

"Hey who knows, walking might be fun," Aang says happily.

"Walking stinks!" Aang whines "How can you guys go anywhere without a sky bison?"

"I don't know, why don't you ask Sokka's instincts? It knows everything," Katara says sarcastically.

"Haha. Very funny," Sokka moans.

"My legs are killing me," Ricky moans.

"I'm tired carrying this bag," Aang adds on.

"Do you know who should carry it? Sokka's instincts!" Sari jokes.

"Hey, that's a great idea!" Aang smiles "Hey Sokka's instincts, can you—"

"Okay, I get it!" Sokka yells. "Look, I'm tired too. But at least we're safe from the Fire..."

Sokka pushes the bush only to the gang to see a camp of Fire Nation soldiers staring at them with surprise.

"...Nation."

No one made a move for at least a minute, only to have Ricky slowly backing away from the Fire Nation camp. The Gaang follow the same movement, only to be cut off by more Fire Nation soldiers from their paths. The five teenagers back up to one another with their backs touching each other, preparing to attack.

"If you let us go, we won't hurt you," Sokka warns them.

"What the heck are you doing?" Sari whispers.

"Bluffing," he answers quietly.

"You won't hurt us?" one of the soldiers ask scoffingly. Then all of a sudden, the soldier fell to the ground by an unknown force, causing everyone to look the fallen man with surprise.

"Nice work Sokka!" Aang congratulate "How'd you do it?"

"Uh, instinct?" Sokka answers not knowing what just happens.

Ricky looks up to see a man jump down and tackle another soldier with hook-like swords in each of his hands. Looks at the soldiers with a smug grin on his face.

"Down you go," he says.

Everyone, except for Sokka, looks at the man with amazement. Another soldier charges towards the strange man, but then the same results happen to him and fell to the ground.

"They're in the trees!" The captain yells.

Then more groups of figures jump down from the trees, beginning to attack the Fire Nation soldiers. All of them look younger than the Gaang, some of them look at Ricky's or Sokka's age. Ricky didn't need to know what is happening, but he saw this as an opportunity to fight them. Ricky and his friends begin attacking the soldiers helping their new allies. Sokka was about to attack one of the soldiers, but the strange man got to him first and swiftly attack the soldier.

"Hey! That guy was mine!" Sokka complains.

"Gotta be quick next time," the man says filled with cockiness before reaching to another soldier.

Aang and Katara were using their water whips at the armed soldiers, Sari using her Kyoshi Warrior fighting skills, and Ricky using his firebending with melee combat. The soldiers were starting to retreat while the others kept on fighting until they were knock out. Ricky kept on using his fire punches and kick the air as azure flames came from his boot, causing the soldiers to either fall to the ground or start running. Ricky watches the ones who were running and wraps his arms with a determined smile on his face.

"Yeah, that's right run! Run to your mommy!" he laughs before a shadow loomed over him. He looks over to see who was behind him, only to be greeted with giant hands reaching towards him, causing him to go pale.

"Uh oh."

It only took almost the entire camp to run away from the strange kids, leaving everything behind with the kids and the Gaang cheering. Katara places her water back into her pouch only to see the same strange figure was looking at her with a small smile on his face.

"Hey," he said.

"Hi," she says lightly blushing.

"That was awesome!" Aang awed, "You almost took out an army single-handily."

"There were twenty-four soldiers," Sokka says grumblingly.

The man retracted his hook swords to his belt. "The name's Jet. These are the Freedom Fighters," he introduces himself and the Gaang, "Hey, where's The Duke and Pipsqueak?"

"Hey Jet! guess what we found!" a small boy voice yells.

Everyone turns around to see a small boy with Earth Kingdom clothing and a pointy helmet and a large man with a monkey-like face was holding Ricky. Katara gasps while the Gaang was wide-eyed.

"Found this guy bending fire," the large man says, while Ricky struggling to free himself.

"Let me go you overgrown gorilla!" Ricky screams only the grip to tighten.

"Is that so?" Jet says placing his finger on his chin.

"What should we do boss?" the large man asks.

"Tie him up," Jet answers.

"Wait! Don't do it!" Katara yells defensively "He's with us!"

Jet and the Freedom Fighters look at her with confusion.

"She's right," Aang says walking next to Katara. "He's a good guy."

"Since when there's ever been a good firebender?" a young tomboy girl scoffs.

"That's enough Smellerbee," A tall boy spoke.

Ricky looks up to see the Freedom Fighters and gulps in fear. He was getting a sense of déjà vu flowing through his brain, already getting the vibe of skepticism from the young fighters. Jet walks towards the large man and begins to stare at Ricky into the eye. Ricky didn't move as sweat begin to drop from his face, only to see obsidian eyes staring into his auburn.

"We'll see if you truly are an ally," Jet says.

Ricky nods only to feel the grip loosen, having him to drop to the ground, gasping for air. The tall boy picks him up and dusting his clothes off. "You okay?"

Ricky coughs lightly "Yeah, I'm fine."

"Good. I'm Kibo Nagare," he introduces himself.

"Ricky," He says.

Kibo nods his head and starts to walk away to his teammates. Ricky looks at Jet talking to Katara, only to feel uncomfortable, he couldn't place it but he can't seem to trust the tan teenager. But he can't prove anything, so he just let it pass by. He looks around the camp to find some supplies and food in one of the tents. He starts grabbing some of the food and supplies in a bag and begin to walk back to his friends.

"Hey guys, I got ourselves some supplies and food for us to continue!" Ricky says.

"Good job Ricky!" Sari thank.

"You seem to have gotten to the tents before we did," Jet complimented.

Ricky shrugs, "Well you will learn a thing or two from dad."

"He must be proud of you huh?"

Ricky swore he could a bit of sneer in Jet's voice, only causing him to step away a bit. He's not sure if he wants to be anywhere near the tall fighter.

"Hey Jet! We found some blasting jelly in these barrels," The Duke says.

"Excellent work!" Jet smiles, giving the small boy a thumbs up.

"And we even found some jelly candies in these boxes," Pipsqueak says as he grabs a handful and shoves it into his face.

"Also good, let's not mix those up," Jet joke.

"Let get these back to our hideout," Kibo says grabbing some heavy bags.

"You guys have a hideout?" Aang asks excitedly.

"Sure do, want to see it?" Jet answers.

"Sure!" everyone except for Sokka agrees.

The Gaang and the Freedom Fighters took a stop after a long trek from the Fire Nation campsite.

"Here we are," Jet says.

Sokka looks around to see nothing. "Where? I don't see anything."

"Hold this," Jet says, grabbing a rope and handing it to Sokka.

"Why? What does this do?" Sokka asks before being flung up in the air into the tree.

"Aang?" Jet offers another rope to Aang.

"I'm good," Aang dismissively waves his hand and launches himself into the air with his airbending.

"I'll take it," Ricky says grabbing the rope and was flown into the trees.

Sari and Kibo grab another rope as so did the other Freedom Fighters to their ropes and was sent into the trees. Jet grabs the last rope and stretches hand to Katara.

"Hold on tight, Katara," Jet says.

Katara gently holds on to him as the rope was pulled upward, bringing the two of them in the trees. Katara looks up to see the sun shining on Jet's face, only to make her blush lightly. As they reach the top, Katara saw a set of treehouses across the far she can see. They landed on a wooden platform, as Aang zip line his way down with Momo flying pass by him. Aang lands on the wooden platform, as Ricky came from a stop with him jumping from the rope.

"This is amazing!" Ricky awed, "How did you guys do this?"

Jet laughs "That's my little secret. The best part about it: It's can't be seen by the Fire Nation."

Kibo, Sari, and Smellerbee landed next Jet and Katara.

"Wouldn't they love to get their hands on you huh, Jet?" Smellerbee asks jokingly.

"Ha! Like that's going to happen," Jet says proudly.

"Why does the Fire Nation want to capture you?" Sari asks.

"Let's just say I've been messing with them for a while now. You see that town over there?" he said pointing at the small town. "It was taken over by the Fire Nation a few years ago."

"We've been ambushin' their soldiers, cutting their supplies, and do anythin' to mess them up," Pipsqueak explains.

No one noticed that Sokka came down crashing down onto the platform, trying to get up from the ground, trying to get past the large man.

"One day, we'll free that town," Jet says.

"That's brave of you Jet," Katara complimented.

"Yeah, nothing's braver than a guy living a treehouse," Sokka says sarcastically.

"Ignore him," Sari told Jet.

"No problem", Jet acknowledge.

"So, you all live here?" Ricky asks.

"Yep, that's right. Longshot over there lost his town when the Fire Nation got burned down," he said pointing at a tall boy wearing a blue shirt and pants with a red poncho and have a conical hat.

"We found The Duke trying to steal our food," Jet points at the young kid. "I don't think he has a home."

"What about you?" Sari asks.

Jet looks down grimly. "The Fire Nation killed my parents. I was eight years old when it all happened."

"Sokka and I lost our mom when the Fire Nation raided our village," Katara says.

"I'm sorry," Jet apologizes.

Ricky felt bad for Jet and everyone else around him. Not only did they lose whatever remains of their innocence, but they were strip from their lives all because the Fire Lord wants the firebenders to be the master race in the entire world. The more he thought about it, the more he regrets ever pulling that blue flame to the world. He wanted to know why was he even given such a cursed power. He could've been a waterbender or an earthbender. Heck, he rather is the rare airbender if he had to. But instead, he's the infamous "Blue Dragon" that can bend blue fire.

"So what you?" Jet asks.

"Huh? What?" Ricky says snapping out of his train of thought.

"What's your story?" Jet asks again.

Ricky started to sweat percussively trying to find a perfect excuse for himself.

"He's a refugee," Aang answers, "We met him a few weeks ago when he was fighting a group of soldiers."

"Is that so?" Jet says raising his eyebrow.

"Yeah it's true" Ricky shrugs "Kind of gone rogue because I refuse to join the army."

Jet looks into the black hair boy's auburn eyes, hoping to find any hint of lies. It is said that the eyes are gateways to the human's soul and all he could see from the firebender was anything but a Fire Nation fiery rage or deceit. Instead, all he saw was just someone the exact opposite of a firebender.

"Well, first time for everything," Jet chuckles.

Ricky sighs in relief and looks at Aang mouthing "thank you" to him. He caught the eye on Kibo looking at him, showing skepticism written all over his face. Ricky gulps, only to hope that he doesn't screw up one way or another.

The Gaang were invited by Jet personally for dinner and they gladly agreed. Surrounding them were a bunch of other orphans and young teenagers eating at a large banquet table with lanterns on some of the branches.

"Today, we have made another successful attack on the Fire Nation," Jet announce to the kids.

The children cheer as Je raise his hands for silence.

"The Duke here has dropped onto one of the soldiers and twist his helmet around." He took a jug of water and starts pouring into his cup "Now the Fire Nation thinks that they don't need to worry about a bunch of misfit kids... Maybe they're right."

The kids start booing harshly.

"Or maybe: They are DEAD wrong."

Everyone then starts cheering loudly, Jet allows the cheering to go on as he starts to sit down.

"Wow Jet, that was an amazing speech!" Katara says.

Jet smiles warmly, "Thanks. Hey, you and Aang seem to be good at waterbending. I must say I'm impressed."

"Well, Aang is the Avatar after all," Katara says blushing.

"Avatar huh? That's cool," Jet said with amazement.

"Thanks, Jet!" Aang thanked.

"And what I haven't seen your bending Ricky," Jet said, "Could you give us a demonstration?"

Ricky moved uncomfortably, not knowing how everyone else would react. He looks at his friends only to see them nod their heads. He took a deep breath before standing up from his seat. He starts twirling around before launching his fist upwards as blue flames eject from his closed hands. The children were both in shock and awe as everyone all stared in this rare event. The flames cease and Ricky closes his eyes, hoping not to hear any hatred and criticism. Instead, all he heard was kids talking with happiness.

"Did you see that?" one of the kids said.

"Yeah! I never know that there is a firebender that can bend blue fire!" another one said.

"Do you think that he might be the Blue Dragon?" a girl asks.

"That means that bald kid is the Avatar!" another girl says excitedly.

The kids cheer at Ricky, scratching his black hair with his cheeks turning red. His friends clap their hands, while the Freedom Fighters were speechless. The Duke and Pipsqueak's jaws drop, Longshot's eyes widen in total shock, Smellerbee drops her cup, and Kibo just stares blankly at the dark brunette teenager. Jet, however, felt the sense of rage when he saw the flames, giving him flashback of his horrid past. He was able to keep his anger in check, not giving any sort of hint of his anger.

"Wow, that's... quite a show you got there," Jet finally said.

Ricky sits down, not knowing what to say. "Uh, thanks."

"You know; you, Katara, and Aang might be able to help us. We need a few hands with this struggle," Jet proposed.

"Unfortunately, we're leaving right now," Sokka angrily said, getting up and begins to walk away.

"Aw come on Sokka, I need you for a mission." Jet playfully whined.

Sokka stops and turns his head. "What mission?"

It was morning the next day and Sokka was standing with Jet and his Freedom Fighters. Jet grabs his jawbone knife while Jet was giving out bird whistles to his members.

"What are you doing?" Jet asks after he finished his bird call.

"Quiet, I'm trying to listen to vibrations," Sokka whispers.

"Nice."

The two went quiet for a moment before Sokka got something.

"I got something," Sokka whispers again.

"How many?" Jet asks quietly.

"One, I think."

Jet whistles again and grabs his hook swords while Sokka unhinges his knife from the tree, waiting to attack. But what got him off guard was made him have second thoughts, it was an old man walking through the trails.

"Wait, false alarm! It's just an old man!" Sokka said.

But his words go unheard as Jet and the others jump from their hiding place and start to surround the old man.

"Where do you think you're going, leech?" Jet says with a venomous tone in his mouth.

"Please sir, I'm just passing through," the old man says.

Jet ignores him as he swipes the cane from him, making fall to the ground, eyeing him with fear.

"Do you like destroying homes? killing lives?!" Jet asks accusingly.

"Please... H-Have mercy!" the old man beg.

"Does Fire Nation swine show mercy?!" Jet yells once more.

"JET STOP! HE'S JUST AN OLD MAN!" Sokka yells jumping out of his hiding spot.

"He's a Fire Nation!" Jet argues back, "Search him!"

"He's not hurting anybody!"

"Did you forget that these fiends have killed your mother?! Or did that firebender friend made you go soft?" Jet hiss.

"Don't you dare talk about Ricky like that!" Sokka yells pointing his fingers at Jet, "You don't know the things he did for me and my sister!"

"Jet! We've got a bag!" Smellerbee yells holding the old man's bag.

"Good! Let's move out!" Jet orders, leaving the old man alone in the ground with Sokka trailing behind.

'Just what are you planning Jet?' Sokka thought.

Sokka storms through the hideout with nothing anger flowing through his body, seeing his friends and sister sitting on a bench. Aang was the first person to see Sokka.

"Hey, Sokka! Look what the Duke gave to me!" Aang says holding a small bag with tiny pellets and threw one of them at Momo causing a small explosion near him, causing him to hiss.

Sokka ignores him as he begins to sit down.

"Is Jet back Sokka?" Sari asks.

"Yeah he's back, but we're leaving. Now," Sokka growls.

"Why?" Katara asks.

"Your boyfriend Jet is a thug!" Sokka shot a glare at her.

Katara blushes ferociously, "What?! No, he isn't!"

"Sokka, he just lives in a different lifestyle than us," Aang says having Sokka glaring at him.

"He just attacked an old man!"

Ricky's eyes widen in shock. "He did what?!"

"Well, I want to hear his side of the story," Katara says firmly.

"I bet he told you what just happened?" Jet asks with everyone nodding their heads, "I bet he didn't tell you he was from the Fire Nation?"

"Well, he did leave that part out," Katara says, glaring at him.

"Even if he was, he was just a civilian," Sokka counters.

"He was an assassin," Jet said, pulling out a small dagger. "He was holding a poisoned knife with him."

"Well, I guess that settles it then," Katara says placing her arms on her hips.

"I didn't see no knife," Sokka said suspiciously.

"He was hiding it Sokka," Jet replies.

"See Sokka? I bet you just didn't see it," Katara adds.

"I know what I saw! And there was NO KNIFE!" Sokka yells storming off from the room.

"It's a shame you guys are leaving, we could use your help," Jet sighs.

"What kind of help?" Aang asks.

"The Fire Nation is planning to burn this forest down, I need you and Katara's help to waterbend the reservoir or else this forest would die." Jet explains.

Unbeknownst to them, Kibo was watching from afar. Listening to everything to the whole conversation, knowing full well that Jet was lying to them. He needs to get them to see that, but he knew that Jet lied about the knife. He should know: It was Jet's last resort when it comes to desperate needs. If he was correct, he was going to use it on Ricky with no one watching.

"I need to tell Sokka, but I can't let anyone know about it," he said to himself. "Jet, whatever you are doing. Don't go overboard."

Night has fallen and no one had seen to be up for the moment, except for Sokka. Sokka couldn't seem to believe what he just heard, Katara was defending Jet for his crimes for harming an old man. Fire Nation or otherwise, it felt wrong to him. If he could only get his sisters and his friends about how bad Jet is. He was about to sleep until he heard footsteps coming from outside. Sokka heard Jet whispering and slowly got up to see what was going on outside. Sokka saw the Freedom Fighters walking quietly and heading towards the docks and Sokka quickly went outside without waking up his friends and sister.

He watches them going down and he begins to follow pursuit. He quickly looks back, hoping that no one was awake before continue to follow Jet and his teammates. He was able to slide down with some minor difficulties, but got down with no hassle or falling head-first, and still far enough from being caught. He continues to tiptoe his way to the Freedom Fighters, only to see them standing near a cliff. Sokka hid behind a bush, poking his head out, but enough to get to hear and see what Jet was doing.

"Alright, you guys aren't going to blow up the dam until I give the signal," Jet explains, "If the reservoir is not filled up, then the Fire Nation troops will survive."

"But what about the people living there?" the Duke asks, jumping off the wagon drag by Pipsqueak, "Will they die too?"

"We all have to make sacrifices Duke," Kibo says kneeling, "It's something we have to deal with."

"Kibo's right Duke," Jet agrees. "Now, don't blow it up before I give out the signal."

Sokka couldn't believe what he was hearing. Jet was going to kill thousands of lives just to get rid of a few Fire Nation soldiers. He needs to tell the Gaang about this and put a stop to this. But it wasn't long till he was grabbed by a foot and got yank from the bush. He yelps only to get held in a bearhug grip by Pipsqueak and have his neck at near mercy by Smellerbee's knife.

"Where do you think you're going?" Smellerbee sneers.

Pipsqueak threw Sokka to Jet's feet, still holding his arms tightly. Sokka looks at Jet with hatred in his eyes.

"Well, so glad you can join us Sokka," Jet says sinisterly.

"I heard everything Jet, you are planning to kill everyone in that town!" Sokka yells.

"Only to kill the Fire Nation," Jet corrects.

"You can't do this! There are families! children! How can you do this?!" Sokka questions.

"There are sacrifices to be made!" Jet points at him accusingly.

"You lied to Aang, Ricky, Katara, and Sari!" Sokka continues to yells.

"They don't understand the war like we do Sokka." Jet says calmly.

"And I know that you're not going to get away with it!"

"We'll see about that. Pipsqueak! Smellerbee! Kibo! take Sokka far away from as possible!" Jet orders.

The three nod and took Sokka away from the cliff. Jet turns around, holding the poison dagger and rub the blade smoothly.

"Once that firebender is alone... I'll kill him," Jet whispers.

"I'm sorry about Sokka, Jet," Katara apologizes as she and the Gaang walk with Jet in the woods.

Jet waves his hands dismissively, "That's alright. Sokka apologized to me, so no apologies are needed."

"Wait, Sokka apologizes?" Ricky asks.

"I was surprised myself. Whatever you guys said to him got him thinking. Now he's scouting with Smellerbee, Pipsqueak, and Kibo." Jet says.

"I'm glad. He can be stubborn sometimes." Katara sighs in relief.

"Same here," Aang smiles.

Sari hasn't said anything; she knew that Jet is hiding something. Her time being in the Kyoshi Warriors gives her some points when someone is lying, no matter how convincing. She can't say anything without any solid proof that Jet is lying.

"You okay Sari?" Aang asks, "You've been quiet for a while."

"I'm fine, just tired is all," she answers.

"Anyways, we're here," Jet told them where they see a small creek with small vents. "There's water underneath from the ground, trying to get out. I need you two to bend the water from the ground."

"I don't know Jet. I haven't done this before." Katara says unsure about the whole thing.

"I know you can Katara," Jet reassures her, placing his hand on her shoulders.

"What about me?" Aang asks.

"I know the Avatar can do it too," Jet laughs.

Katara and Aang walk to one of the vents and begin bending the underground water and the water starts to geyser out of the hole.

"Good job you two," Jet congratulate before turning to Sari and Ricky, "Now, you two have to keep on a lookout for any Fire Nation soldiers coming. After that, head towards hideout once you're done."

The two nod their heads. Jet leaves the four alone as Katara and Aang start to bend the underground water. Sari grabs her steel fan and starts to look at the forest, while Ricky grabs his pocket knife and grab a stick and start carving the stick.

Ten minutes have passed and Katara and Aang have finally filled up the small creek.

"We're done!" Aang says.

"Let's tell Jet that we're done," Katara says wiping her forehead.

"I thought we agreed to go to the hideout?" Ricky asks.

"Well, we finish early. I'm sure Jet would be happy to see us," Katara says.

"Come on pal, keep on moving!" Smellerbee shoves Sokka with his hands tied behind his back.

"How can you guys let Jet kill lives like this?" Sokka asks accusingly.

"Hey listen Sokka, Jet's a great leader and everything goes a-ok in the end," Pipsqueak said firmly.

Sokka growls only to feel a tap on his shoulders. He looks up to see Kibo right next to him.

"Look to your right." Kibo whispers.

Sokka was confused before looking to his right until he saw were Fire Nation traps covered in dead leaves and small berries.

"Well, if Jet's a great leader", Sokka starts talking, "Then he's got a lot to learn!"

Sokka starts running towards to the traps as the three start chasing him.

"Hey! Get back here!" Smellerbee yells.

Sokka continues running, dodging the traps causing Pipsqueak and Smellerbee to step into them and begin to fly right up into the air as the trap incircle them. Sokka stops only to see Kibo stop running, grabs his sword, and swung it at Sokka. Sokka turns around only to feel the blade between his tied up hands with the rope cut up. He rubs hinds sore hands before looking at Kibo. "How—"

"I was waiting for the right moment when Jet got rid of you." Kibo answers, "I need Jet to think I was okay with the whole plan. Now, we don't have much time. Go to the village and warn the people; I'll go and deal with Jet."

"Why are you doing this?!" Smellerbee yells from her cage, "You are a traitor Kibo!"

"I'm not a traitor Smellerbee," he says bluntly, "This goes against everything the Freedom Fighters stand for. Now go and warn everyone, Sokka."

Sokka didn't know what to say, but he didn't question it and just nods his head and head straight towards the hideout while Kibo ran to the opposite way.

"What are they doing?" Katara asks watching Longshot and the Duke placing red and black barrels near the dam.

"Hey, aren't those barrels from the camp we were in?" Ricky says looking closely at the dam.

"Why would they need blasting jelly?" Sari asks placing her finger on her chin.

Aang's eyes widen in fear, "Jet's going to blow up the dam."

Everyone looks at him with eyes widened.

"What?! No, Jet wouldn't do that!" Katara denies.

"I got to stop them!" Aang says, grabbing his staff and turn it into a glider.

"Jet wouldn't do that," Katara repeats quietly.

Aang jumps into the air, only to have Jet knock him off from the air and land behind the Gaang.

"Yes, I would," Jet admits.

"Why?" Katara asks, still denying everything.

"Katara, you would too if you just think; the Fire Nation took away your mother. We can't let that happen to anyone ever again."

"But you're doing the EXACT thing that the Fire Nation was doing!" Ricky yells accusingly.

"You shut your mouth firebender!" Jet points his hook sword at him, "You wouldn't know anything!"

"Hey! Don't talk to Ricky like that!" Aang says angrily.

"I thought Sokka would understand but—" Jet says solemnly.

Katara's eyes widen in anger. "What did you do to him?!"

"Katara—" Jet says only to get push back by Katara's water whip from her waterskin.

"Aang, get to the dam!" Sari yells.

Aang nods his head but his glider was snatched by Jet's hook swords.

"You're not going anywhere without it," Jet says.

"You give that back!" Ricky warns Jet.

"Oh, and what are you going to do?" Jet says mockingly.

"This."

Ricky clenches his fist and threw a blue fireball at Jet. Jet dodges his attack and starts climbing onto the trees. Ricky starts climbing the tree and starts giving chase to the sword-wielding fighter. He continues to blast fireballs at him only to keep missing with every turn. The jet made a sharp turn and tackles the black hair firebender, causing him to grab on one of the branches. Ricky grabs onto a thick branch, trying to get up but Jet jump onto the branch and stab his left hand with one of his swords. Ricky yells in pain as he fell to the ground, holding onto his bleeding hand. Jet grabs his shirt and pulls out the poison dagger from behind and slowly raises it into the air.

"I don't care what your friends say about you..." Jet says venomously, "...You firebenders are ALL the same."

Everyone's eyes widen in fear to see Jet was going to kill Ricky.

"JET, NO!" Katara yells.

"JET!" a voice roars.

Jet couldn't process what happens next, he felt a fist contact with his face, only to drop the dagger to the ground as it fell to the ground and a sharp pain across his face. Jet fell to the ground and look to see Kibo with an angry look on his face, holding his sword with a small trickle of blood on the tip. Jet felt something warm on his face running down on his skin as he felt it with his free hand.

Blood. The cut on Jet's face was in a diagonal line with blood dripping from it. He glares at the sword wielder.

"Kibo?! What are you doing here?!" Jet yells.

"This has gone long enough Jet!" Kibo told Jet. "This is downright terrorism at every level. I only joined the Freedom Fighters to get the Fire Nation out of my hometown, not have you destroy it."

"Kibo, I can't believe you betray me like that," Jet growls.

"You have gone too far Jet. Sari! Aang! I need your help!" Kibo says.

Sari grabs her steel fan and Aang jump to Kibo's side, while Katara ran to Ricky's side and held him tight.

"Are you alright?" Katara cries.

"Y-Yeah, I'm—" Ricky coughed, "—Fine."

Katara held his bleeding hand, trying to stop it from bleeding. She watches Kibo, Sari, and Aang starts attacking Jet, making his dodging more difficult than ever for him. Katara kept holding Ricky's bleeding hand, only to have her hands getting soak by his blood as well. Her concern and anger consume her mind, fueling hatred to Jet went from zero to skyrocketed.

Jet tries to swipe at Kibo and Sari, but Aang pushes him with his airbending techniques, causing him to hit a tree. His anger still rises from his hatred towards Ricky, betrayal from Kibo, and denial from Katara and Sokka. He was still dripping from the water whip by Katara, he has to get to Ricky and finish the job. Even if it means killing those in front of him.

"You will not stop me from my duty!" Jet yells furiously but then he felt a sudden stop from his legs.

He looks down to see the water froze his feet and look to see Katara stretching her arms out and begin pushing the frozen water up to his body, pinning him to the tree. He drops his hook swords as his head was the only one not frozen. He looks at the Gaang with utter horror.

"I trusted you Jet! You lied to us! You used us and I trusted you!" Katara cries.

A sudden bird whistle calls out of the forest, everyone stops what they were doing and saw Jet whistles back.

"Oh no," Kibo utters.

"What's going on?" Sari ask.

"You're too late," Jet says.

Aang grabs his glider and tries to take off, only to plummet to the ground. He looks to see a tear in one of his wings. Katara and Ricky walk to him, kneeling to the airbender.

"It's torn. Sokka is the only one who can stop this." Aang says.

"Sokka, I'm sorry," Katara says looking out at the dam, "Please, save them."

Everyone saw a small orange light flying towards the dam, descending towards the red barrels.

"No..." Katara's eyes widen.

The barrels exploded as the dam collapse and a huge body of water starts to rush through the woods and made contact with the small town. Everyone was speechless, everyone watches the valley being flooded. All because of Jet.

"All those people..." Sari whimpers.

Kibo's fist clenches in anger and glares at his former leader.

"Jet, you monster!" he roars angrily.

"This is a victory Kibo," Jet smiles, "The valley is now no longer in the hands of the Fire Nation."

"The valley would be safe..." A male voice told Jet, "Without you."

Everyone turns around to see Sokka riding Appa. Everyone, except for Jet, smiles in excitement.

"Sokka!" Katara says.

"I warned everyone about you Jet," Sokka says.

"WHAT?!" Jet yells.

"I told them that you were going to blow up the dam, but they thought I was a spy. Until I was saved by the old man you attack earlier," he explains.

Kibo smiles and gave Sokka a thumbs up. "I knew you could do it! Thank you!"

"Sokka, you fool!" Jet scolds Sokka, "We could've saved this valley!"

"From who?" Sokka asks, "You betrayed everyone when you stop helping innocents lives."

"Katara... Kibo... Help me," Jet beg.

"Goodbye Jet," Katara said, before helping Ricky up to Appa with Aang, Sari, and Kibo.

Sokka whip the reins as Appa flew away from Jet and the flooded valley.

"Are you sure Sari?" Aang questions seeing Sari standing next to Kibo with a bag on her back. "We're going to miss you."

Sari nods her head, "I'm sure. I'm going to miss you guys. Ricky, I hope your hand gets better."

"Thanks, Sari," Ricky smiles with his left-hand wrap in bandages, "I don't think it's going to be the same without you."

Sari blushes lightly, having Kibo putting his hand on her shoulders.

"Don't worry, we'll be fine," Kibo reassured.

"Thank you for helping me out there Kibo," Sokka thanked.

"It's an honor to help you and the Avatar," he bows his head. "Come on Sari, let's go and help the village."

"Okay," Sari nods her head and waves goodbye to her friends.

"Bye," the Gaang waves goodbye back, before flying away from the two.

"That was brave of you Sokka," Ricky says, "I guess you'd follow your instincts?"

"Hey, sometimes they are right," Sokka says proudly.

"Uh Sokka, we're going the wrong way," Aang reminds him.

Sokka's eyes widen but quickly recovered. "And sometimes they're wrong."

He turns the reins, having Appa to fly in the right direction.

Author's Note: Finally finished the chapter. Special thanks for Bowser Jr's Descendant for his amazing OC for this chapter. Sorry for not posting lately, but hey, chapters take time to write. I look at some of the previous chapters before I posted it and I thought of fixing it to make it more suitable and I'm going to make it a lot less cringe-worthy for the next coming chapters further on. If you guys want you OC to be in the series, please PM me and give me there backgrounds and backstories. Benders and Non-benders are welcome. If you like it; please fave, comment, and review it.
