Chapter 2: A young man's journey.

Ash straightened his black and crimson hood, taking in a deep breath as he let his power flow through him.

Today was only the beginning of his journey... Of his Destiny.

The young man wore a loose black hoodie with crimson and white stripes, matching with his white tracksuit bottoms and black and crimson boots. He also had black and white fingerless gloves with a red lightning bolt stripe pattern.

On his left wrist was a black and silver bracelet, and on his right was a light blue cotton ribbon. It was his mother's…. Before she died.

He had grown to about 6'4 in height, quite tall for his age of sixteen. He was fairly muscled, similar to that of a runner's physique. This was due to the fact he had spent most of his young life training in martial arts, teaching and catching multiple pokemon, And trying to just stay alive in the Foster houses and orphanages he used to call 'home'.

Now though, .. He was free. To do what he wished, when he wished and with nobody to stop him.

After training some more with his powers over the years, he found that he could do more than just move large objects. He could feel the energy around him, flowing through everything. Living or not.

He could control part of the weather, heal most injuries, (including those of broken bones with a mere touch) but also

As his powers grew, so did the knowledge of what he could do.

For he could now understand the language in his father's book, it was definitely not human.

It spoke of the energy he could feel, called it the 'Force'. It was a training book, for those who could feel this power to help them hone their skills.

He read about the ancient Old Republic, the dreaded sith empire, the Galactic Empire and the rebel alliance, the Emperial remnants and the New Republic.

The Sith and the Jedi , the light… and the dark. He was shocked to find out that his last name was not in fact Ketchum, but Kenobi.

He was the great, great, Great, grandson of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Satine Kryze.

His ancestor was a great Jedi Master? The one and only 'Negotiator'.

The very reveal had shocked him, especially after what he had read about his ancestors exploits. Did he want to become a Jedi? It took him a long while to think about, but eventually he came to a decision.

And well, Ash wanted to become a Pokemon Guardian. It was a title he had created for himself. He would be like a grey Jedi, protecting humans and pokemon alike with the force, using the whole living force. For their were no sides.

But he also wanted to Learn all he could about pokemon, and then keep them safe from those who would use such amazing creatures for their own twisted desires.

Teams Magma, Aqua and the Dreaded R Legion, being the main examples.

He hated people who mistreated pokemon, tame or wild. They were living things, they breathe, eat and sleep. Like humans did. They were alive.

They were not to be used as slaves or punching bags. They were meant to live with them as equals, human and elemental animal. Side by side, living in harmony.

At least that's what he believed…

"Morning Ash!" Called a young voice, snapping the teenager out of his deep thinking.

Standing before him was a young boy with rectangular glasses, he was about 4'9, had brown eyes and bluish hair.

He was wearing a white shirt with a green sweatshirt on top, It was paired with dark grey shorts and dark grey trainers with green stripes.

"Max" Ash greeted with a small smile and a nod, folding his arms. His young friend was awake and obviously in a joyful mood today.

"You ready for today?" Max asked, eyes wide and excited.

Ash smirked, glad to see some pure innocence in this world. "I hope so." He merely replied with a shrug.

Two other teenagers walked over, one was a sixteen year old girl with brown flowing hair in a red and white bandana. This was May, another friend of Ash's. She was wearing a red and white jacket over a black tank top, she also was wearing red and black shorts and matching trainers.

Holding her hand was a seventeen year old boy named Drew, he had spiky green hair and was wearing a purple jacket on top of a black shirt. He also was wearing dark blue trousers and black trainers. He was another friend of Ash's, behind his cocky, posh attitude he was actually quite polite and understanding.

The two older boys respected each other. Having a bond akin to brothers.

"May, Drew." Ash greeted with a slightly larger smile.

May waved at him while drew merely nodded in greeting.

"Shall we?" Ash asked, gesturing to the open road.

The others nodded, excited for their journey to begin.

Ash turned back to his apartment, a small smile on his face. "You two coming?" he asked with a raised eyebrow.

Two pokemon instantly ran to his sides, standing next to him seconds later. One was a tall Sceptile, chewing on a small stick. The other was a Lucario.

They were his partners, his two most trusted pokemon. He had found them at a young age and had taken them in, keeping them safe and healthy. Treating them like family. (see chapter 1).

They had grown strong over the years, after much training and time, Lucario reached level 41 and Sceptile reached level 43.

Ash was proud of them, they had pushed themselves so much..

"Ash, Lucario was doing some scouting earlier. She noticed that there have been some disturbances within the nearby nesting grounds. Some kind of battle was scaring off the pregnant pokemon." Sceptile told him, walking besides him.

Ash turned to Lucario. "You Recognise anything that could tell us what pokemon are doing this?" he asked, but Lucario merely shook her head. She had no clue.

Knowing about his secret gift, May asked. "What's going on Ash?"

"Something is disturbing the nearby nesting grounds of pokemon, perhaps some wild erratic pokemon… or something else." He replied, eyes narrowing.

May gasped, putting her free hand to her mouth in shock.

Drew frowned. "We should investigate." He stated, squeezing his girlfriend's hand slightly. Comforting her from this distressing news. She LOVED pokemon, especially babies.

Ash nodded before turning to max. "Max, remember what I taught you?" he asked.

Max nodded. "Patience and a clear head, don't go into the unknown full of emotions." He replied.

Max had no potential with the force, he could not even feel it. but he was an adept student to help protect pokemon. And even though he would never learn to use the energies of the universe, the teachings of the Jedi and Sith still could be applied to everyday matters.

Ash smiled. "Correct, now let's go see what's causing these problems… " he trailed off, running off into the forest, his friends behind him.
