Fadeshipping (Jonouchi Katsuya/Yami no Marik)

. . .

He wasn't supposed to be this strong.

He wasn't supposed to be this strong!

The darkness found itself actually recoiling at the boy's eyes, a tremor running down his arms as he felt his throat closing up. His eyes shouldn't still be open. He should be deadafter that attack from Ra. So why was he—why was he still standing? Why was he still looking straight at him?

He wanted to scream. He wanted to throw himself across the dueling arena and physically rip the blond duelist to shreds but—but something in him tightened, thickened, made it hard to breathe—he was afraid.

He was afraid?

Afraid of Jonouchi Katsuya?

He couldn't even speak. He couldn't even breathe.

"You shouldn't be standing," was all he could manage to choke out, so quiet that no one would have heard it, not even himself.

You shouldn't be looking right at me.

"If Jonouchi calls his attack, he wins this duel!"

The voice is echoey, like he's hearing it from the end of a tunnel. Jonouchi—beat him? This cannot be possible. This fucking slip of a human couldn't have defeated him—

The darkness could not have possibly fallen before this tongue of fire, could it...?

The boy's mouth opened, and for just the barest moment, the darkness inside of Marik swirled with terror. It knew it was dead.

And...slowly, the boy careened forward. His Duel Disk shut down.

He barely even heard the man calling him, Marik, the winner.

Because he was still...he was still shaking.

He ground his teeth, trying to tense against the tremble. How dare he...how darehe...

How dare he terrify him...?

. . .

A/N: Next is Facadeshipping (Anzu x Yami Bakura x Yami Marik), which will actually just be an old entry since it was originally called Succumbshipping and I wrote it previously.
