Where Two Stories Emerge
I want to clarify that this is in no way canon with my Skylanders Academy storyline. This is it's own seperate canon. I do not own Spyro, except for copies of the games, or there would be a lot more Spyro. Read On!
Recently, the two dragons, Spyro and Cynder hav saved the world from the tyrannical Dark Master, and as the two sat in the core of the earth, Spyro tapped into the great power of Aether, and Pulled the world together in a massive power surge. From the volcano where the Destroyer had entered, it started rumbling. Farther away, the three Guardians, and the citizens of Warfang, as well as Spyro's adoptive brother Sparx, had survived the near destrictionof the world, and were heading back to the besieged city. After the world was pulled apart, two smoke covered crystals were propelled out of the volcano. One contained the legendary heroes, Spyro and Cynder, and the other, contained somehing else.
Meanwhile, the Guardians had arrived back at Warfang, to see that the City had been completely rebuilt, with no signs of damage whatsoever, even with the new floating islands around it. "Dang Spyro." said Sparx as he gazed upon the city, "You just had to be a perfectionist.". "This is very astonishing, amazing, dumbfounding, extroadinary, and.." Volteer started saying, when, "Stop Volteer." said the icy voice of Cyril, ice guardian, "Why do you do this every single time?". "Stop you two." came the stern voice of Terrador, earth guardian of Warfang, "We need to still help our fellow citizens get into warfang and bring them back into their homes and residences." he stated with militant proffesionalism.
The two Guardians stopped their conversation and started to herd the discordant citizens of Warfang into their homes.
When they went back into the cities, they noticed that all weapons such as the catapults and guard towers were not where they were supposed to be. They were left in the dissasembled place that the war had left them. "Why would Spyro do that?" asked Volteer as he looked around at the city, as everything else seemed to be untouched, and gave no indication that war had besieged them no more than a week ago.
"He probably didn't want them to ever be rebuilt so as to not have any wars anymore. He is very wise." responded Terrador.
Spyro had woken up surrounded in an orange crystal fragments. He groaned and pulled out some chips of the stuff that had been stuck in his scales. He found a nearby patch of red crystals and pressed them to himself, and instantly he felt the normal relief as the ancient gems healed his small wounds, such as scrapes and bruises. Then a thought came to his mind.
"Cynder!" he thought worriedly.
He frantically looked through the rubble to find her, and he pulled a rather large piece of crystal out of the way, he found Cynder, the black dragoness layingon her side, with a peaceful expression on her sleeping face. Spyro pulled another clump of red Crystal and pressed it against her. Her breathing, whick had become ragged after Spyro had pulled the crystal off her, became smother with each second that her slender figure was pressed against the red gem. Her eyes slowly began to flutter as Spyro's heart did the same. Cynder's teal eyes opened as she saw Spyro standing over her.
"Hello Spyro. I was having a dream about being crushed under a golem. Now I know where it came from." Cynder said jokingly.
She started shifting her weight so as to stand up. Spyro's lilac irises locked onto Cynder's as Spyro helped her up. Cynder's face hid a small blush. In the final battle against the dark Master, she had stood with him against him, As Spyro had pulled the world together, Cynder had said, "I love you." to him. She remained uncertain about if he felt the same way. Cynder stood up, but leaned sideways, and Spyro rushed to her support. She was a bit tired, and Spyro said calmly, "I think you need to take it easy for a bit. We need to get back to Warfang. I wonder if the Guardians are okay. Ignitus will be.."
Spyro's heart fell all the way off a cliff as he remembered what had happened to the Fire Guardian of Warfang. With a heavy heart, his mind turned to when Ignitus had sacrificed himself.
Ingitus was upholding a shield to protect Spyro and Cynder from the Belt of Fire, as he started to waver under the heat. He told Spyro and Cynder, "My path ends here, but you still have ways to go, now go. Go!" he said as he sacrificed himself and pushed Spyro and Cynder to the last part of the Belt of Fire. Spyro turned back.
"Ignitus! NO!" he had yelled.
"Spyro, there is nothing you can do." Cynder had told Spyro, while still upset herself.
Spyro looked around. "NO!" he had yelled as he turned dark.
"No, Spyro stop!" Cynder had called.
"You can't stop me!" Dark Spyro had howled back.
"Right. Only you can do that. Please Spyro. Don't do this." Cynder had pleaded. Spyro lowered his head as the darkness and pain faded from his heart, although not all the way.
"I just feel so alone." Spyro had said sadly.
"You're not alone." Cynder had said, as she laid her head next to his, and they had walked on to confront the Dark Master
Spyro pushed the image from his mind as he set this mind on helping Cynder back to Warfang. Lukily, it was dawn, meaning that they had a whole days worth of travel. Based on where they had landed, they would reach Warfang on the sunset of the same day. Spyro and Cynder started walking towards the city of Warfang, where they were unaware. The volcano was smoking
At Warfang, the guardians had done a headcount, and determined that they had suffered only minor casualties in the assault on Warfang. They silently thanked Spyro and Cynder for being the main reason of so many surviving. In total, there were 16 dragons and 120 moles, marking about 136 citizens. The guardians turned to the guardians temple, and seen that it had survived, mostly due to Spyro's reconstruction. They walked in, and noticed that the interior was also still intact.
"Well, Sparx was right about this. Spyro really is a perfectionist." said Cyril in admiration. "I told you he was." said a familiar voice from beind them.
They turned around to see that Sparx had been behind them. "How long have you been standing there?" asked Volteer. "I have been standing behind you this entire time, I have nowhere else to go, considering I don't live here.". Volteer was a little amazed at the logic, something that the dragonfly usually did not use because of his sarcastic demeanour.
"Well, you can live in the quarters in the far right side of the temple. I was going to give it to Spyro and Cynder once they arrive due to them saving the world, but you can have it for now." Terrador said politely. "Ugh" groaned Sparx. "What? Is that not good enough for you Sparx?" asked Cyril scathingly. Sparx replied, "I just don't like the idea of Cynder and Spyro being together. She may have helped, but I don't trust her with my brother just yet.". Cyril growled back, "You ungrateful.. Cynder has helped defeat the Dark Master, and you still don't trust her? What will it take for you to trust her? Stay away from her, and do not try any funny business. Goodbye." as he left the room.
Terrador and Volteer were mystified by this uncharictaristic outburst from Cyril. He was one of the ones who distrusted Cynder after she had been restored, and now he was defending her? It was a transformation they were unable to fathom. However, they had not time to ponder over the sudden transformation, as they needed to get the city back in order. They were concerned about Spyro, Cynder, and Ignitus not being present, especially Ignitus, because at this point, the City needed it's Guardians.
"Volteer." said Terrador, "I need you to help the wounded and sick, and re-establish the healers. They will be essential.". "You got it Terrador. I will be quick, swift, rapid, speedy, and...". "I get it Volteer." Terrador responded, wondering how he puts up with Volteer's constant rambling.
Volteer set out and led the wounded and sick to the healers center, which had also been cleared of all damage. Thankfully, all the gems that had been stored had not been destroyed, so that they could treat some of the more serious injuries, such as broken bones or bleeding heavily. Volteer looked around and saw the moles doing their job. He was stuck with the realization of just how few dragons were in the city. The city was called, "The dragon capital", so there should be more dragons. He thought about an idea that could be beneficial, but could be very voatile if it wasn't handled properly. He would call in some people that he had not spoken to in a very long time. Almost before the war.
Spyro and Cynder trudged on through the wooden embrace of the forest. Cynder had recovered enough so as to move on there own. Spyro had the energy to fly, but wasn't sure about leaving Cynder behind.
"Hey Cynder?" Spyro asked hesitantly.
"Yes Spyro?" replied Cynder.
"Want to fly to Warfang?"
"Well...Tag!" Cynder said as she bolted upward through a clearing in the trees.
"Hey!" Spyro called as he flew in persuit. Spyro flew right next to Cynder, who had stopped in the air. Cynder laughed and turned away, with Spyro chuckling behind her as he flew after her. Spyro flew next to cynder as they looped around and around in the sky, flying through clouds and relishing in the sunlight, nobody taking the game seriously. The little game continued on, and Spyro had noticed that they had turned into familiar territory. "The Valleys of Avalar! We must be getting close.". And indeed he did.
Over a rather large mountain, Spyro and Cynder saw it. Spyro flew down onto a floating island overlooking the massive place, with it's buildings residing in the beautiful sunset, the home of all dragons, the capital, the home of the Guardians, Warfang. They had gotten to it at long last.
Somewhere in the middle of nowhere, lay a large dragon, though not as tall as the guardians, still taller than Spyro and Cynder. His yellow eyes opened, and he groaned as what had happened came back to him. He found himself surrounded by orange crystals. He got to his feet and instinctively started walking in a direction, but all he knew was that he needed to get to his estination as soon as possible. If you were wondering what the dragon looked like, his scales, were purple. He looked back and saw the volcano from which he came.
The volcano was smoking.
