Meetings in Warfang

The guard called for all guards to stay and watch Malefor, even though he knew they could never take him in a fight. He flew hurredly to the Guardian Building, and Terrador walked toward him. The guard was out of breath and was trying to get his wind back.

"What happened?" Terrador asked.

"Malefor is at the gates of Warfang. He requested to see Spyro and Cynder." he said between pants.

Instantly, alarms went off in Terrador's head. He rushed off, and called for all guardians, Spyro, and Cynder to meet him. They met in the central hall. "Malefor is at the gates. We need to attack. Cyril, you create an Ice Prison that will stall him so I can attack him with an Earth Boulder, Volteer will then hit him with lightning, and Spyro and Cynder will go in and do everything they can.". Volteer and Cyril were astounded that Malefor was back. Cynder seethed with anger that her tormenter was in the city, and Spyro stayed still, seemingly lost in thought.

They rushed out, but quickly noticed Spyro was not following them. They turned and asked Spyro what was going on.

"Well," Spyro started, "Malefor asked? The Malefor I remember would have just attacked us in a suprise attack. That would be the most logical plan of attack. He would be smarter than to throw an entire army at us after what happened last time he did that. We need to see what he wants. If he shows any sign of aggresion, I give you all permision to attack, but if not, do not do anything." Spyro finished.

Spyro went in front of the group. They opened the front gates where they saw Malefor. He was a bit shorter than when they had last faced him, and his scales were lighter, but that did not make them lower their guard. Malefor acknowledged their presence by looking down. "Hello Spyro." Malefor said plainly. His voice had changed, loosing it's distortion. Malefor took his paw out to shake. Spyro tenetively raised his own paw to shake. When he did, he felt what felt like a shock go up his paw. He yanked his paw back.

"What was that?" Spyro asked.

"We both have a wind element. I had seen that you had not yet unlocked it. So so to speak, I gave you a push to unlock it." Malefor explained. Spyro suddenly felt air swirling around him into a tornado. The guardians were staring in shock. "As for this, I simply gave your mana a small boost to activate it to show that I did nothing bad.". Spyro felt the tornado stop and looked at Malefor.

"Okay. We will not attack you, but we will have to put you in a suitable place until you have proven yourself." Spyro said firmly. Malefor nodded, and they moved off to the Temple, which had a large door that had not been opened. Malefor noticed the very venomous glances that were shot at him during his trip to the building. Only the guards that were surrounding and defending Malefor made sure that he was not attacked. They soon reached the guardians temple, where the door had a very intricate locking mechanism. It required the simultaneous use of Earth, fire, ice, and lightning. The Ice was needed to fill a sphere, which was then melted by fire, which led it down a tube that someone of the earth had to move around to get to it's destination, and lightning was needed to send an electrical pulse through the water when it reached it's end which activated the door to open.

When this was done, Spyro and Malefor walked forward, where they saw several rows of carved markings. These were sigils. They protected any sort of elemental work outside of the cell. Meaning if you fired lightning from the end of the tunnel it would not reach the other side. Inside was a dome room, with a bed, and a fire light. Spyro closed the door behind him. He and Malefor were alone in the room.

"So, Malefor. I heard that you wanted to see me?" Spyro inquired.

"Yes. I have very troubling news. I have been reading up on the history of the Dark Master, and I have discovered that the Dark Master has taken control of another host, but I have no Idea who. The darkness clouds their mind from history. I was able to break free of the corruption due to the spirit thing you did at the earth's core. And If the Dark Master really has taken control of another, than it will be even more dangerous from when I was corrupted. Think of the Dark Master and the purple dragons as inheritances. When a new purple dragon comes around, he or she will be even more powerful than the previous one. The same holds true for the Dark Master. However, the thing that stops him from simply jumping around bodies is because once it finds a host, the host will trap the Dark Master inside, and they must either die, or find someone else to corrupt."

Spyro nodded, "Okay, and I have a few questions as to exactly what the hell happened to me in the Eternal Night, which is what people are calling it because it was a period of Darkness for the World.".

"Anything you want to know." responded Malefor.

"How exactly did I become Dark Spyro?" asked Spyro.

"Well, from what I heard, you were hit by that beam. The Darkness would have made you become the new Dark Master, and was flickering between you and the Dark Master. In one of those periods where your normal personality was present, Cynder knocked you out of the beam, and that darkness was locked within your heart. As such, when your emotions go out of control, they both turn you into your Dark Form, and give your base form a small power boost. Theoretically, if you kept diving in and out of your Dark Form 10 times, you would be as strong as my full power. Which brings me to something that might surprise you. This is referring to Cynder. When she was corrupted by the Dark Master, she was given more powers than she knows of. She was not just given the elemental powers, she was given the Essence of the Purple Dragon. She has a form that turns her into similar fashion to her adult state, and every second she is in that form, her power increases by 1 percent. There is something else, but that is for a later date. So, is my answer satisfactory?".

Spyro nodded and left the room.

He walked out and saw Cynder looking at him while the Guardians closed the door behind him, the locking mechanism reset.

"So Spyro? What did he say?" asked Terrador.

"He said things about where the Darkness comes from, and that was all. He didn't show any signs of aggression.".

"That is preferable. We must keep him inside until we can firmly trust him. For now, we must train the new Fire Guardians in case he doesn't actually mean what he says.".

Spyro and Cynder went to the training room where they saw Flame smashing through wave after wave, with blue lines across his body. He seemed to be using the blue flames easier than before, with them mixed in with his regular flames.

Inferno stood off to the side. After casting a venom filled glance at Cynder, he said, "I have been training Flame to take control of the blue flames. Instead of summoning them from time to time, he is spreading them out through his body to lessen the strain on his stamina.".

Cyril noted, "Interesting. In this form, he could be a match for Spyro. Why don't we test that theory?".

Spyro followed through and after giving Flame a green spirit gem to restore his stamina, they started to fight. Flame used the tried and true strategy of going close combat with Spyro. Spyro caused the ground to shake to make Flame take to the sky. Spyro caused ice to sprout all over the floor, ready to use his lightning. Spyro flew up to knock Flame down, and succeeded, and filled the ice with lightning. Spyro expected to hear Flame cry out in pain, but found that the flames coursing through his body melted the ice before it hit him. Spyro shot an Ice spike at him, but he simply melted through it, upping his flames to about ten percent of their full power. Spyro shot earth at him, but he dodged them. He tried to hit him with lightning, and Flame countered with his fire. All the while Flame was making his way towards him. Flame gathered all his power and shot a concentrated beam of fire at Spyro.

Spyro stepped to the side, but turned to see that the beam was heading for the Guardians and Cynder. Feeling the power rise, Spyro used Dragon time, and bolted in front of the fire, hitting him dead on. When the smoke cleared, Spyro was standing there with smoke raising from his scales. There was a thin black outline around him, but unlike his Dark Form, he retained his pupils and his scale color. Flame sent another shot at Spyro, but Spyro's eyes flashed white and the shot dissipated before him. Flame tried to grapple with Spyro at close range. But Spyro avoided the attacks, and punched Flame in the gut before smacking him upside the head with an earth pillar. Flame threw a fire covered punch, but Spyro ducked beneath him and kicked him into the air.

Flame was immidiately barraged with dragon kata attacks covered with Spyro's elements. Spyro finished with a fire beam that forced Flame into a corner. Spyro's fist started glowing purple.

"Oh no!" shouted Cynder, "Spyro! Please stop!".

But Spyro did not heed her warning, his new and unknown power had given him tunnel vision. When he was about to make contact, only five seconds from impact, when it happened.

If the punch had connected, it would have shot a hole through Flame's chest, but before it made contact, the dark aura dissipated and the purple glow faded, and Flame held Spyro in place, built up a flame, and Spyro was thrown backward into a wall, hitting his head and knocking him out temporarily. Flame saw that the fight was over and he pulled back his Flames, but pushing himself to his limit had drained a large amount of stamina. He leaned heavily to his side and caught himself on a wall.

Cynder had seen what Spyro was doing and she had been very scared about Spyro almost ending Flame's life. For the next minutes following the attack, Cynder spoke in a shuddering tone. When Spyro had recovered from his injuries, he met Cynder walking down the hall.

"Hello Cynder." Spyro said in a greeting tone of voice.

Cynder was shaking a bit. She had seen what Spyro had displayed in the room, and she, apart from Sparx and Spyro knew how much Danger Flame had been in.

"Spyro, I want you to make me a promise." Cynder said with a small tear in her eye and her voice starting to crack.

"Of course Cynder." Spyro said soothingly as he put his wing around her.

"I want you to promise me that as long as I live, don't use that power for harming one of us." she said, her voice cracking as she leaned into Spyro's neck.

Spyro put his head on top of hers as he said calmly, "Of course Cynder." he said as he looked out a nearby window. "Anything for you.".
