Revelations
Luin screamed in rage as he was cut off from Spyro's mind, the work of his former host, Malefor. Using an Omni Symbol, a symbol used to counteract evil, Malefor had cut off Spyro's mind from any dark influence, including himself, tying it's effectiveness to Cynder's life force. He lashed out in every direction, slashing the symbols to dust and rock.
"Those insolent dragons!" Screamed Luin, "I was on the edge of breaking him!".
It would take several minutes before he calmed down to a sane level. He looked at the volcano that once was the cause of the world's end. He reflected on how he had been so close to destroying the world, and if it had not been for Spyro, he would have succeeded.
"I wonder..." he began. He flew off towards the crater of the mountain. Ignoring the geysers of smoke beaming from cracks, he flew toward the center of the massive golem. He used magic to lift a few rocks out of the way and he saw a red crystal, brewing with malicious energy. "Yes...YES!...YES!" He laughed to the sky. He placed his hand on the crystal, and tugged it out. It was the size of a fist, where he could clearly distinguish seven different shapes, all brewing with power and evil.
He channeled his power, and broke the crystal on the ground.
Out of nowhere, a horrible screech emerged, rattling Luin to the bone. The seven energies took the form of a long and thin crystal for each one of them. Luin smiled maliciously. "Why have you summoned us?" hissed seven voices in unison.
"I have come to give you what you have always wanted. Freedom, chaos, the end of all life as it is!" exclaimed Luin.
"Yesssss. You seem to be what we want, but what do YOU want?" replied the energies.
"It is simple." replied Luin confidently, "I want to rule the end of the world. To see all life come to an end! Now, will you help me.".
"Yes." replied the voices hissed sinisterly.
"Now, to give you something first." Luin said evilly.
Waving his hand, from a portal, a legion of apes followed out, with seven dragons in the center. They were about the size of Malefor in his current form, and on all of them, were two stripes of black circling their two main horns. The first dragon was one of the earth element, with a stocky build and more that a few battle scars tainting his green and brown scales. His name was Tremor. He was picking fights with some of the apes and crushing them under his feet.
The next dragon was a female shadow dragon, quite similar to Cynder in her adult corrupted form, with the core difference being where Cynder had magenta, she had silver. Her name was Synthia.
The Next dragon was a dragon of a bigger build, with a belly bulging and slow movements. He was a fire dragon, with the name of Ignis. He was currently yawning.
The next dragon was an ice dragon of a slim build, with him holding himself high, seeming that he was taller than he was, and he always spoke down on others, especially apes. His name was Chill.
The next was a fear dragon, with his body being almost entirely black. He currently was swiping daggers and small pieces of gold from the apes. Snickering to himself at what he was getting. His name was Black.
The nest was a dragon and a dragoness, both poison dragons, with turquoise scales with black membranes, and were not paying attention, just looking at each other with lustful looks. Their name were Toxic and Venomous.
Luin chuckled and whispered, "Now."
The crystals quickly moved into a dragon or dragoness. The symbols of their horns growing darker by the second. The spirits quickly merged with the soul of the dragon, making them even more powerful than previously. "You fools," Luin whispered, thinking of Spyro and Cynder. "You honestly thought I only had one dragon at my disposal?".
What do you want us to do now?" asked each of the dragons.
"Now, I can't just throw you all at Spyro and hope it is enough. You are valuable pieces in my plan. As the Sins, it is your right to follow the most corrupt dragons." He turned to Tremor. "Wrath, you go first, try not to engage too much, if Spyro proves too much a challenge, teleport back here. We want them to crumble, with slow strikes, slowly chipping away at their security.". He turned to Synthia, "Envy, go with him to make sure nothing goes badly. We do not want them to take him into custody. They could destroy Wrath and get Tremor to talk. Got it?".
Envy bowed down. "Yes, Dark Master."
Envy and Wrath took off into the sky. Luin smiling happily. Everything would start soon.
"WHAT!" came a voice from the Guardian Temple. Volteer was simply speechless when Spyro revealed to him the connection that he had to Malefor. Cyril and Terrador were staying stoic on the outside, but on the inside, they were aghast as Volteer.
"Well," began Terrador, "This is going to cause quite an uproar. The savior of dragons is related to Malefor? That won't go over well.".
Cyril then stated, "Well, we could say that Malefor will not leave the temple, and will only be allowed to leave once he has given a helping hand against evil.".
Malefor bowed, "I will, and I would also ask to be able to use your training facilities to train Spyro to harness his dark power.".
Terrador frowned, "I would agree if it weren't for one thing. Up until recently, this 'dark form' seems to only be activated when one of us is in danger, and I won't allow it.".
Malefor smirked, "Well, the symbol on Spyro's head actually prevents that from happening, making that method counterintuitive. I want to help him harness the power without using his rage.".
The three elder guardians came in to discuss the situation, with Infernus, Flame and Ember currently watching Malefor, to make sure he made no threatening moves.
"We have come to the conclusion that you will be able to train him, but with heavy guard supervision." called Volteer.
Malefor smirked. "Well, Spyro. We must start as quick as possible.". Spyro followed Malefor to the training room, which was surrounded by guards with magical weapons. Spyro looked around and Malefor turned around. "Now, first we need to see if you can find that energy from which you use." Malefor sat down while Spyro did likewise. "Think of the chaotic energy of Aether, that flows through your body at this very moment. Feel the energy surge." Spyro concentrated, feeling the familiar Aether, which ran through him, and concentrating deep into the inner power.
Suddenly, dark energy exploded out of the purple dragon, but as soon as it happened, Spyro felt a burning feeling on his forehead. It was the Omni Symbol. The sign was glowing red. The pain subsided after a minute. Malefor tsked at him. "You try to tap into it's full power, where it takes control of you. Try to feel it as a separate force, that you can guide into your own power, allowing it to aid you, not control you.". Spyro nodded and concentrated again. He felt the power once again, but instead of letting it envelop him, he tried hard to take control of it, to shape it into something orderly, his psyche fighting a battle against a chaotic force.
The Omni Symbol started to glow, and a small blue aura surrounded him. His pupils still intact, and his horns and spikes turning a silver-ish orange. Spyro would have entered his Dark Defense mode, but a lot weaker. Because it wasn't spurred on by incandescent rage, he was using other emotions to spur it on, but the rage fueled most of it. Malefor smirked and stood up, and Spyro did likewise. Malefor, out of nowhere, launched a fireball at Spyro. Spyro, with almost unrealistic reactions, dodged it. Malefor smiled.
"You entered the form. You have exceeded my expectations. I think we shall see how well you do against Flame.".
As Malefor said that, Flame walked in, his Blue mode at 45 percent power, with the extreme limit of 50 percent. Flame got into a ready stance. Spyro did likewise, and as soon as the starting whistle was blown, Flame zipped over to Spyro, going to punch him in the side of his face. Spyro instinctively brought his paw up to defend, vibrations going through his arm as he did so. Still, the force sent him a foot backwards. Flame immediately re-aimed himself to attack. Spyro dodged, but only barely. Flame smiled. Spyro used small, but precise movements to move around the room, avoiding Flame's attacks.
But, to everyone's surprise, Flame landed a hit on Spyro. Spyro skidded across the arena. Malefor could feel the Omni Symbol resisting Spyro's rage, but all of a sudden, it went silent. Spyro stood up, with his breath's calm and collected, his thoughts as smooth as a sheep's coat. He looked at Flame. He got into a ready stance. Flame roared in challenge. They went back to what was happening before. Cyril eyed the fight with interest. "This is very interesting, the way Spyro is defending and dodging those attacks, it is marvelous.".
"But that's the problem." replied Malefor. "He is only defending. If it is to be much use in battle, he must use it to be able to land a punch, and he has yet to do so.".
The two prodigious dragons looked back on the battlefield, where Flame was getting enraged due to being unable to hit Spyro. "FIGHT ME!" he roared. But what he didn't know, was that Spyro was holding back his power, so as not to hurt Flame like he almost did last time he did the form. Flame was enraged, his anger boiling to the point of being feral. He charged up a blast of blue fire, and hurled it at Spyro. Spyro's eyes widened, and did something extraordinary.
The blast never hit Spyro. He formed fire over his paws. He grabbed the blue fire, and using its momentum, he redirected it at Flame and it hit the stunned Flame dead on. Flame was dazed by the impact, and Spyro took note of this. Flame regained his composition, and charged at Spyro once more. Spyro dodged, and as he saw Flame go by, his hand erupted in flame, with his other hand, he flipped Flame in midair, and punched Flame with the fire hand. Malefor's eyes sharpened. As soon as this happened, Spyro launched at Flame, but as soon as he was about to go on the attack again, his form dissipated, and Flame was once more able to defeat him. Malefor cursed, "Damnit!". Spyro soon got up, a considerable amount of stamina having been drained from maintaining the form. "I should have seen it coming. An attack is usually used by having antagonism towards the opponent, and that symbol blocks that antagonism.". Spyro groaned, and Flame, now powered down, stood, watching Malefor.
Malefor then placed his hand on Spyro's forehead. The Omni Symbol glowed red in response. Malefor drew a line straight toward the center, which looked like an A with a line in the middle. "That should help, it still prevents dark influence, but allows you to throw attacks. You won't be able to kill, but definitely incapacitate an enemy.".
"Thanks Malefor." replied Spyro, with Ember watching with a dreamy expression in her eyes, and Cynder growling at said behavior.
