Chronicler's Isle: Part 1

NOTE: This chapter will mostly be filler, so don't expect any new battles, and expect it to be short, because I am going to be going dry on new chapters for a few weeks.

Spyro blinked a couple of times when Ember made her outlandish proclamation.

"Umm, I'm not sure. I think Cynder would be a better choice." said Spyro nervously.

"Why? What does she have that I don't?" Ember hissed to herself. She looked towards Terrador. "Don't you think it would be a better way for me to get some experience outside the training you guys have been giving us?" she asked innocently.

"Well," Terrador started, and Ember's pendant started to glow, "you make a good point. It would be very easy for you to gain experience."

"I should go. I have a better chance of fighting off those two." said Cynder, finally speaking up.

"I have never seen the Chronicler though. This could be valuable for me!" Said Ember, her pendant glowing.

"All in favor of Ember going with Spyro, say "Aye"" said Volteer.

"Aye" said Volteer, Flame and Terrador.

Cynder growled and made a note to herself to teach Ember a lesson soon.

"Spyro, we should go out tomorrow morning. We need to neutralize this threat with as much power as we can muster." Said Archion, going to Spyro's side.

"Got it."

"Meeting adjourned." announced Terrador.

Cynder looked at Ember with a look of loathing and defeat. Spyro looked at Ember with a bit of hesitation. Spyro walked away with Cynder, side by side, Cynder leaning her head against him. Ember hissed while Flame looked on. They were both thinking the same thing. "I hate you, Cynder." Little did they know that Greed was watching nearby, taking tabs on the meet. "Shoot!" he whispered to himself. "I have to inform The Dark Master."

He carved a small rectangle in the air using his darkness, and Luin appeared on the other side. "What do you have to report?"

"Spyro and somebody called Ember are going to the Chronicler's Isle to go to the Dark Dimension! Should we be worried?"

"No, I would normally take this opportunity to send in wrath, but one, he is still recovering, and second, I want to wait for them to recover, so I can keep smashing their sense of security. This will create unrest, and as a result, they will fight amongst their ranks, each thinking each other as a spy, and Spyro will be all alone to fight us."

"Smashing Idea. I will say though, that I recently took a look at Spyro's power after coming out of the Time Chamber. And, in his Semi Perfection Form, his power exceeds that of Wrath from when he was released."

"Yes, but Wrath constantly goes stronger and stronger."

"But what if they manage to achieve his perfection?"

"Need not worry. Going into our realm is far beyond suicide."

"Okay."

With that, Greed went back to snooping around for information.

Spyro was currently in his Semi Perfection form, talking to Archion about the machinations of stealing another dragon's life force. Cynder was watching from the side, comforting Spyro, as he still wasn't comfortable with killing, and Malefor, he had gone off to the training room to oversee Flame, where he was trying to master his Blue Flames. Malefor cloaked himself with his shadow element, obstructing him from view. Flame continued with his training, and He upped his flames to 69 percent effectiveness, but almost instantly, he yelled and dropped out, horrible burns on his flank. Malefor gasped silently at seeing how bad he had hurt himself. Uncloaking himself from the blanket of cold darkness, he rushed over to him, Flame could do absolutely nothing to stop it, tears staining his golden eyes as the pain was unbearable.

After a minute, he felt the pain starting to soothe itself and he looked over at Malefor, purple energy flowing to the burns, healing them slowly. When they had healed completely, Malefor drew back, his breaths ragged and broken, because he had just used a massive amount of energy. "

"Why...did you do that? asked Flame.

"Because our power deserves to be used for good."

"Umm, thanks. Can you please teach me how to use greater amounts of the blue flame? Every time I use higher than half, I burn myself."

"Okay," Malefor said, regaining some of his energy, "Blue fire, is hard to describe. Right now, conjure a ball of blue flames, as much as you can use without burning yourself." Flame smiled, and held up his paw, and made a small ball of blue fire, no bigger than a golf ball, but entirely blue.

"So, what now?"

"What are you using to fuel the fire?"

Flame was caught off guard by this question, his gold eyes darting around as he tried to think of an answer. "Umm, my Mana?"

"While that might be partially true, the true fuel to the fire is our own emotions. Our elements are like our emotions, each with a specific part. Fire is desire, ice is resolve, earth is determination, electricity is brightness of mind." Blue fire is a combination of fire and a hint of ice, burning with desire, but the resolve of knowing it might never happen. That is why you have been limited to using the fire. You have no real goal. I can sense it. You do not desire anything."

"But I do, to protect the people of Warfang." Flame said, his tone starting to gat a bit impatient.

"Yes, but you are blinded by a desire of revenge for what you believe Cynder had done of her own accord. You do not believe she is no different when she took everything from you. You do not know what it is like to have trust in others. While I do not claim to know everything about your past, I do remember that part about Cynder was because, I don't know if you remember, but when your parents died, The Dark Master ordered Cynder to take you, because he wanted to use your blue flames as another Terror of the Skies. She did attempt to take you, but she failed, and she told me that You became so hot, the scales almost melted off her paws, and that was when your ability first showed itself.

"So, I was destined to become a Terror?"

"That was what the Dark Master wanted, but I could sense something else. While the Terror of the skies would normally have kept fighting, and most likely killed you, I could sense that Cynder, not the Terror, but Cynder, was holding the Terror of the Skies back, making her retreat from the fight. Without you knowing it, she saved your life."

"NO!" Flame roared, surprising Malefor, "Cynder RUINED my life, not saved it!" He absolutely refused to believe that his hatred, his life, his reason, and all the teachings of the people around him was a lie, as they all came back to the same thing: Cynder ruined his life, and that was why he was the way he was.

Malefor shook his head solemnly, and went back into the shadows. Flame collapsed on the floor, his golden eyes broken and leaking tears. At that point, he felt alone, abandoned, his life feeling worthless, and his mind tearing itself apart.

Ember smiled snarkily to herself. She had convinced everyone that she was the best candidate to go with Spyro. She felt very accomplished as she watched Spyro walking down the Hall with Cynder.

"You will be mine Spyro, and Cynder, you will have nobody, not even Malefor, and your life, will be over."
