Dungeonshipping (Pegasus J. Crawford/Otogi Ryuji)

. . .

God, he wasn't a little kid anymore, he was a successful businessman! He had to keep his thoughts under control; this was a business presentation and meeting! Not a meet and greet with an idol. He had to stopfidgeting!

It was so hard, though, Otogi realized as he continued to tap his foot and drum his fingers against his briefcase while the elevator zipped up to its destination. He hadn't been in the game making business for very long, and his dice game was only moderately successful with the characters that he had built in already. If he could get it connected with some of the more recognizable figures of the more popular game Duel Monsters, that would definitely give his game a boost! But getting the licensing for that was like jumping through fiery hoops one after the other—and he couldn't believehe was actually getting to have a one-on-one talk with Pegasus J. Crawford?

Otogi swallowed thickly, nervously. He was going to start jumping out of his skin in a minute if he didn't calm down—ever since Pegasus had rocketed to the top of the game industry several years ago, it had been Otogi's dream to get even a few minutes to tell the man how inspiring he had been to him—but now he was going to get to talk to him as a business partner? He could hardly believe his own luck.

The elevator dinged softly and his heart jumped into his throat. Oh god, this was it—what was Pegasus going to be like in person? Was he anything at all like the persona he put on for the cameras, or was he someone else entirely?

The doors had barely slid open before his vision was taken up by a flash of red and white.

"Oh, goodness, but that elevator does take quite a bit of time to get up here! You must be Mr. Otogi, of course! I've been waiting ever so anxiously to talk ever since you sent me that request!"

"M-Mr. Crawford, I assume?" Otogi managed to get out while the silver haired man pumped his hand in an exuberant handshake.

"Oh, call me Pegasus! I'm really just so excited to finally have a chance to speak with you; I've seen your game and I was so excited to hear that you wanted to partner with me on it! It's a wonderful design, absolutely wonderful, you should be proud of yourself!"

"I—thank you," Otogi said, trying to recover. This was...way more of an enthusiastic greeting than he had expected.

"I'm just ecstatic about how many young people like yourself are getting into this business," Pegasus said, looking bright and cheerful, like he was a child himself. "It's so much easier to create games that will last when they're made by the demographic they're intended for! I'm looking forward to this partnership quite a bit and I hope you are too!"

"Y-yes, of course," Otogi said, finding a smile creep onto his face. Pegasus was certainly a radiant sort of cheerful person, wasn't he? Maybe this wasn't as nervewracking as he thought it would be. "Thank you again for having me."

"No, Mr. Otogi, thank you," Pegasus said. "Oh, but excuse me, I should let you get out of the elevator—let's get started, shall we?"
