Travel to the Dark Realms
Spyro felt like his entire world was cracking. He felt heat from remembering the Belt of Fire. Emotions threatened to overwhelm his mind. He didn't even know he was moving until he was in the arms of Ignitus. Tears flew from his eyes, as he continued to wonder how such a profound miracle was even feasibly possible. Ember watched in stunned silence, as her supposed dead predecessor had suddenly shown up out of nowhere, seemingly from the pages of history.
"How?" came Spyro's voice, jarring Ember out of her stupor.
"It was my great honor to take the mantle of the chronicler when his time was over, and now I have the job of recording history, into the pages of the library."
Ember stepped forward. "Um, Ignitus, was it? I'm pretty sure that I'm your..."
"Yes, I am very well aware that you are my successor, and I agree." Ignitus said, knowing saying anything else was not needed.
"However there is worse times ahead. I know why you came here. You want to travel to the dark realms to gain control of your dark powers. I cannot let you do this without my help. Specifically you Ember." he said, letting go of Spyro, "While I see that your companions allow you to traverse the Dark Realm, Spyro, Ember does not have said protection. You would have to constantly put a shield over her if you were to help, but even that would only last just over 3 hours."
"So where is the Rifter? Archion said it would be here?"
"Yes, it is in this room over here." Ignitus said as he opened a nearby door and there was the Rifter. Just from looking at it Spyro could feel the unworldly power that flowed off of it. It looked like 1 central ring with 2 other rings in larger groups, with 2 handles on the largest ring. The rings glowed radiant purple and let off energy that flickered like fire. Think like a ride that has the rings so that you go on many axes. At the center was a glowing orb that seemed to take multiple forms.
"Is that it?" Asked Ember.
"Yes. This is one of the most powerful artifacts in the multiverse. Ancestors can use the energy themselves, but any mortal can only use the Rifter to travel through dimensions." said Ignitus gravelly.
"How do we use it?" asked Spyro.
"This can be used in 1 of 2 ways. Either one person stays behind and keeps the portal open, or they travel with the Rifter to their destination." responded Ignitus.
Spyro was about to respond when he saw something strange. The radiant energy started to move in a central way. Normally it just fell to the floor and dissipated, but it started to move towards the group.
"This is strange, it never did this when I came in here." said Ignitus to himself.
The smoke stopped just a few inches short of the group and started to lift upwards. It seemed to look at Ember, but turned to Spyro. It was about to touch him when Ignitus pulled them out and slammed the door shut. In the room, the mist floundered against the door like a wave to a wall.
"What happened?" Asked Spyro.
"I remembered how the mist reacts when it comes in contact with a mortal body. They are teleported to convexity, because the combination of a mortal body and an unworldly energy creates a rift, in which it sends it to convexity. It is a place where anomalies go to when they cannot exist in any realm."
They decided to leave for the time being with Ignitus saying that they would leave tomorrow, but after they had left, a small stream of mist had found it's way out of the room, but did not get far as the stream disconnected and the smoke dissolved.
That night, Spyro slept and fell into a lucid dream with Archion and Choryrth.
"Okay, so do you have any theories as to why that mist sends people to convexity?" Spyro asked the pair.
"Well, what Ignitus said about them becoming imbalanced makes sort of sense. I wanted to elaborate on my take." started Archion, "I think it has to do with the fact that convexity is essentially an anti force to all other elemental magic. From your experience, you might know that convexity uses a lot of strength, but if your other elements are drained, you can still use convexity as a backup. Convexity works in weird ways when it is brought into a reality that is directly opposed to it. It reacts, and as a result is very destructive. Now, that brings us to the topic at hand. Convexity is a hungry power, and will stop at nothing to destroy the other elements, so I'm guessing that since it is the watered down essence of the Void, Convexity wants to merge with something that it cant normally achieve, and I believe the void works in the same way. It seeks to neutralize itself, with an equal power."
"But then why did it go to me and not Ember?"
"Your guess is as good as mine. Maybe it had to do with you being purple and having massive power, but all in all, I am completely lost."
Spyro looked between the two.
"Okay, now this is a good time as any to ask how you were able to enter our reality without any Rifter."
Choryrth sighed and said, "Well, in that subject, we are still a little fuzzy on that topic, but we will tell you what we know. Basically, as you increased your power, you basically started to tear apart the barrier between worlds. If that makes it seem like you are overpowered, believe me, you were only a small fraction of what actually made it occur. Every few years, for a split second, the world borders become weak, to the point where any normal dragon can open them. However, this only lasts for a second, so no being would be able to get through in time. Our theory, is that as you moved up to your temporary Dark Perfection, you had little to no control over your aura and magic, and as such, a lot of that went to the nearest drain of power it could find, which was coincidentally the break in the worlds. As such, we broke into two separate entities. One that can manifest in this world, and one that stays in our reality. Once that occurred the rest is history."
"Okay, so, I noticed you said I was wasting a lot of my magic, what would I be like once I could get it under control?"
"Let's say that, at max power at normal form, you could take a city with one attack. At max in your dark form, you could break a moon."
"That is incredible."
"Yep, now, I need you to listen, because I should tell you some things about the Sins.."
Ember could not sleep, she was confused. Her heart was a warzone. She loved Spyro, and hated Cynder, but at the same time, directly attacking Cynder would only push Spyro farther away. A tear fell from her eyes as she recalled how Spyro had protected Cynder from Inferno, risking his own self for Cynder. A single fact remained: Cynder had gotten there first. She wished she could have Spyro, but he would never leave Cynder. Some of his best memories were with her by his side. Being by his side when he had defeated Malefor, saving the world. She wished she could just erase Cynder from Spyro's mind.
She paused.
Without a moment to lose, she sped off to the library, where, the first book on the shelf was the one she needed. The chronicler's library was vast, but if one could simply will it to occur, the books overflowing on every subject would change to appear to the viewer. She looked through the books, displaying many charms and crystals and enchantments to alter memories. But her most focused one, was something called the Lucid Lethe. It was a crystal that was so powerful, it would allow a person to completely wipe and rearrange somebody's memory.
However, the ways to get it were not easy. One would have to travel to the center of the planet, with it's inherently magical material, and then find the River Lethe, which is one of the 7 rivers of Guawysvern, the dragon afterlife.
The other rivers were the Clarse, the river of Emotion, then came to Lethe, the river of Memory, then came the Relgim, the river of Magic. Every person from all of the realities came to that place when they died, which is why the Relgim supplied the magic for all worlds. Then came the Trojos, which was the river of Divinity. It was told that drinking from this river would make the body and soul immortal, but this was prevented somewhat that the Trojos could only be drunk by the blood of the ancestors. If any normal one tried it, then they would be sent to the center of the Void, which extremely bad ones went to when they drank, as they thought themselves superior to the gods. Next was the Sepa, which was the River of the Soul, which would allow people to forget their worst memories and achieve lasting peace. Next up in the semi to last, was the Acheron, not to be confused with Archion, although he was named after it, was the river of humanity, with this being the final passing where souls would begin to fully integrate into Guawysvern. The last and final term, was named Dyanhowad, where they became full on merged with the Guawysvern and were rewarded with eternal peace and fun. The last river drew it's power from the creator god of the same name, who created the multiverse realities. Legend had it that he could control reality by writing in his mystical Papyrus of Fate, which he could write in and it would become reality. He could literally write, "a giant snowman universe appears out of nowhere" and it would happen. His power could not be measured. He would occasionally incarnate as a mortal and view his universe, and would call himself the Infinitum Mortale, but this was very rare, and only happened once every 1,000 millennia.
Mortals could only travel up to the Trojos, and they could only go past by dying. Most people turned back. They would be afraid of the rivers immense power. A single drop from the Lethe would cause one to forget what happened in the past week, and if one was to dip in, they would forget who they were. Antidotes were able to be produced, but was a very lengthy process. The Clarse would overwhelm one with emotion, and they were never the same again. The Relgim would greatly enhance ones magic with a single drop, but if one bated in the water, they would die due to immense overload of energy. Ember was fixated on finding the Lethe, as her obsession with Spyro had long past a longing, but an obsession. However, she was not aware that all of her actions with Spyro up until that point, had been magnified from just an awe of Spyro's abilities, to obsession, by none other than Envy.
Ember looked as to where to find a passage to the Lethe, and found that during a transfer of Void energy, in an instance that would last as long as one wanted, they would be transported to the Lethe. She decided that she would do it when they were coming back from the Dark Realms.
The Next morning, Ignitus set up the device such that it would follow the whim of Spyro and Ember's commands. Spyro brought out Archion and Choryrth, something he was now able to do easily, (and Ignitus jumping at their appearance) and they showed him how to calibrate the Rifter in order to bring them to the Dark Realms. As Spyro set the last concentric ring into place. The purple mist erupted from the bottom and swirled around like a tornado around the pair, and shot upward, sending swirls of energy around them, and they were launched upward, through a glow of light, and found themselves in a brief glancing of a dark place with islands that were broken and beaten, the Void, which then disappeared from view as they passed through a wall, and they both instinctively made themselves a barrier around the darkness that threatened to leech into their souls. They then set down in a new world, which stood an island, similar to the White isle, but there was no Chronicler in sight. The walls were decimated, and the library books were in scraps. Archion and Choryrth seemed to gain more of a mass, due to being in their home turf. Spyro now knew how it felt to know that you didn't belong in the world. Alienated from everyone and everything.
"Welcome to the Dark Realms," Archion announced, "We are far beyond the help of not even the Ancestors"
Hello Guys. Sorry for the long hiatus, but I recently watched Raya and the Last Dragon, and I just loved it. I will be changing my name for one final time.
PEACE OUT
