Darkness Falls

As Spyro watched the scene, he could feel the horrible unworldly energy of the Darkness flow around him. To feel like that, imagine being trapped in a cold river, able to breath, but your body goes into panic mode, sending the heat to your limbs and torso, doing everything it can to prevent the icy water from seeping into you, slowly suffocating you in it's ice. Spyro set the Rifter to go to a pocket dimension, which Ignitus had fervently taught them to do. Archion and Choryrth sent out a concealing spell, temporarily rendering them invisible. Taking off, Spyro saw several battles raging, with nobody able to tell who was on the right side.

On one of these fly-overs, for the briefest of moments, he could have sworn he saw a dragon, which he was somehow able to discern the features of. It was a male of massive proportions, and he was a black pitch like charcoal. All along his body, were horns every few inches, curved grey blades that looked as if they had cut through many apes. His tailblade was scythe like, with the edge adorned with fresh blood. This dragon seemed to look at him, with glowing yellow eyes, and Spyro felt as if his disguise was melting away. Surprise quickly flashed along the older dragon's face, and he seemed to look at Archion and Choryrth, and growled under his breath. It was small, but to Spyro, it seemed like he was growling in his ear. Spyro flew away, and the older dragon's eyes still seemed to burn into him, even after he looked away.

Spyro was eager to get away, and soon came up on a massive stretch of floating land, and it was about the size of an Island, with a large gaping hole with an eerie purple glow. Dropping down, their presence would slightly startle several dark dragons, but once they saw Archion and Choryrth with 2 new dragons, they didn't care about their scale color. The entire island was surrounded by a large wall, and as Spyro walked by, he saw dragons using magic imprints to protect the island. They would pass on several circular shapes that randomly spewed out large bolts of malevolent energy.

Inside of the massive border, was a fortress with walls of reinforced metals. The innermost section contained a war room. In there, many large dragons, most likely the dark and doubles of Ignitus, Cyril, Volteer and Terrador. A large section of the fortress contained blacksmiths, who heated up metal that they forged out of solid convexity, and formed it into armor and weapons. Archion and Choryrth showed Spyro and Ember the weapon room, in which hundreds of thousands of weapons were created.

Spyro eventually was lead to the main complex, a bit to the side of the war room. This was a large room, with several tables. There were several conduits of energy of red energy, no doubt a healing source. Spyro looked to the center and realized the tables were for advisors that would help people on their form, as this was the training area. He understood the gist of why he was brought here. Choryrth and Ember went off to the side, while Spyro and Archion wen to the center. "So, is this what we are going to be doing?"

"Yes, I have avoided this, but I need to see if your skills are as keen as they are in the other realm. Go into your most powerful form."

Spyro did as instructed and turned into Semi Perfection.

"Good, I want to see if just being here has bolstered your strength."

Spyro got into a fighting stance, and Archion tensed up. Then, with speed Spyro would have thought impossible, Archion sped forward and slammed him in the chest. Spyro was briefly put out of Semi Perfection from the sheer impact, but clenched his jaw and turned back to Semi Perfection. He roared and shot 4 fire blasts at Archion. He eloquently avoided them as if it was second nature. He leaped forward to give more damage, Spyro had to leap back and block with his arms, and even still, it was a very hard impact.

Archion then spewed out a large black smoke cloud. Spyro could not see anything. Obviously Archion could see, as he, in the complete dark, zipped around Spyro, punching him relentlessly. Spyro curled into a ball and tried his best to defend. Spyro tried to use his 4 elements, but he was completely outclassed.

Then it hit him.

He cut off all other senses, he reached out with his magic, and saw a figure leap towards him, going for his head. Spyro sidestepped. Archion flew past, and briefly staggered because of the lack of resistance.

"What?" he asked himself.

He thought he was using Dark Defense, but Spyro, on one of his passes by, briefly saw Spyro was back to his normal coloration. On the next attack, Spyro dodged, as usual, but then he flickered to Semi Perfection, and a glowing fist hit Archion right in the flank. The impact shook Archion's focus and the smoke dissipated. He saw Spyro completely, but was surprised that Spyro had his eyes closed. Spyro detected there was no more darkness, and opened his eyes. Archion launched at him, glowing with Convexity.

"How?" he asked as he exchanged blows with Spyro. Spyro grunted as his front leg was hit a little hard. "Simple, " he explained as he returned punches, "You forgot one thing. Just because everything is black, it does not conceal your presence. I used my wind to create a sort of sphere of knowledge. Anything that entered would immediately be sensed by my wind element."

Archion growled, and focused his power on one paw, suddenly, a large convexity lightning blot slammed into Spyro, a discharge from the vents, and that made him temporarily confused, and he never saw it coming.

*Slice*

The point of Archion's talons dug into Spyro's right side of his face. Choryrth, in a desperate attempt to save Spyro in any way, somehow made Spyro's right eye intangible for a second, so his eye was undamaged, but the damage was done. For a split second, everyone was silent, Choryrth hoping his spell worked, Archion in disbelief of what happened, and Ember frozen in shock.

Then, Spyro screamed. He brought both his paws up to his eye and roared in pain, trying to hold in the blood that was flowing down his face. Archion winced and shot a bolt at him, and briefly made him unconscious. They hurried him over to the nearest gem stash, and what they saw almost made them hurl. 3 long, curved slashes covered his right side going around his face, down his neck, and ending at the left middle part of his chestplate. The scars stopped bleeding in a short while, but the scars still remained. Apparently, The cuts were very deep, and the expanding healing process of a red gem, would not make a horrible wound go away, but would simply speed up the healing process. They laid him down on a nearby bench, waiting for when he wakes up. Ember excused herself and flew away.

"This is taking too long."

Luin oversaw the extraction of several power crystals from the husk of the Destroyer. Malefor had definitely used the destroyer to great extent, but the true power led within the center of the beast. Various power crystals gave the destroyer it's strength and mobility, but they did not give it life. the orcs and apes he had assembled were carefully mining the hardened lava exterior, still relayed with scratches and dents from when Spyro and Cynder had defeated it.

Luin was supervising one of these digs to see where the center was, and the pace was agonizingly slow, with only a few chips being mined each time.

Then, he heard it. Not the normal chip of rock, but a faint scraping sound.

"STOP!" he roared. The workers all froze. Luin shoved them aside and he found what he was looking for. Using his powers, he carefully moved the rock and dust off of a very white and luminous crystal. Being sure not to touch it, he used his magic to levitate the crystal. It was built as a diamond. with triangular surfaces. He yelled for the grublins to get him the closest weapon, which so happened to be a Warhammer. Using incalculable precision, he slowly carved where the crystal was supposed to go. He then carefully embedded the crystal in the hammer. He felt the immense power surging in the weapon, and made him drop it. The hammer fell towards the ground, and when it hit, a massive amount of elemental energy blasted out from it.

"Finally, I have it." Luin said excitedly.

"Uh, sir, what is "it" per say" asked a goblin.

"This is what is known as Atonus Raelgil A crystal that carries the essence of the Raelgil, the source of all elemental magic. Vey few of these exist in each realm, but they have power one could only dream of. No dragon could carry it, they would be disintegrated by the sheer output." Wile he was saying this, one rebellious wolf, who was egotistical to the extreme, was not listening, and when Luin had his back turned, he rushed out and grabbed the hammer. Strength coursing through him. Luin showed a bit of fear, as he knew what the crystal was capable of.

"I AM THE NEW ALPHA!" the wolf roared, and he put his hand on the crystal to channel it and destroy Luin, but once he touched it, he was enveloped by a purple aura, and started yelling out in pain. He dropped the hammer, but the crystal emitted a flash of purple lightning that connected to the arm that had touched the crystal, and started to destroy him. He yelled one more time as his body exploded into nothing, with only a few purple sparks and a scorch mark as any trace of his existence.

"Nobody touch it. Got it?" Luin growled to his soldiers, who did not want to go anywhere near the Warhammer now that they saw what it could do. He trudged off with it to find Envy who was supposed to give an update on the status of Wrath. "Envy, where are you?!"

He saw an ominous glow in a small crevice, in which he saw envy, with a large flat, round crystal in front of her. Around it were several chalices adorned with jewels and filled with convexity mist. It was undulating in and out of the crystal, making an outline of the large crystal. Candles were lit to give the place illumination, and he was pretty sure he could see some markings around the chalices. The weirdest part was that on the crystal, there seemed to be a view of another dragon. The view was constantly twirling, maneuvering and turning around. Envy was in a sort of trance, with a meditating position. After seemingly completing her task, she looked up and saw Luin standing over her with a hammer and a grumpy expression, she quickly explained what she was doing.

"Let's just say I've been working on a "pet project" if you know what I mean."
