Guest: Thanks.
Please enjoy the next chapter. And like I said, last chapter was going to be the last chapter where they're little kids.
The students sat at their desks, focusing on their work when Clara looked up beside her and saw a tired looking Iruma fighting to stay awake, "Iruma-kins?" Iruma hummed and looked at the green-haired demoness beside him, "Are you okay? You look tired. Did something happen?"
"I'm fine, Clara," Iruma reassured and patted the top of Clara's head, "Last night was a full moon and you know how the canines in my subconscious get. They all try to become the dominant ones just to howl at the moon,"
"Do you want me, Kerori and Elizabetta to call the others and tell them you're too tired for a reading session today?"
"Reading session?" the two looked up and saw their friend Alice Asmodeus staring at them in confusion, "Iruma sir, what is this reading session Valac just spoke about? Are you-"
"It's nothing important or to worry about, Azz," the pink-haired demon stared at the two, "It's nothing, Azz," Alice hummed and nodded before the bell shrieked throughout the halls and students stood up from their desks and began walking towards the door.
The demons of Babylus roamed the courtyard while Iruma sat under a tree and closed his eyes, "I'll just rest my eyes an-" before he could finish, his nose started to twitch and without opening his eyes, he sighed, "Is everything okay, Eiko?"
"I was hoping you can tell me," Eiko frowned before sitting next to Iruma, "Clara told us you looked like you were falling asleep in class. Rough night?" Iruma hummed and shook his head, "If you want, you can cancel the reading session for today. I'm sure none of us would mind waiting one day an-"
"No, I should be fine," Iruma stood up and stretched before offering his hand to Eiko and he helped her up. Eiko slightly smiled as the two of them and began walking away.
After taking a few steps, Iruma stopped and looked back with narrowed eyes as he began sniffing the air. Eiko stopped and looked back with a concerning look crossing her face, "Iruma?" she turned and walked up next to him and frowned, "What's wrong?" she looked around before looking back at Iruma, "Did you hear something?"
"I think Azz is following us,"
"Azz?" Eiko arched a brow, "You mean Asmodeus? Why would he be following us?"
Iruma sighed and shook his head before he turned and began walking away and Eiko began following him, "Clara asked if I wanted to cancel today's reading session and Azz overheard her and I told him that it's nothing important or to worry about," Eiko frowned, "We should hurry and meet up with the others,"
"What are you worried about?" Iruma looked over his shoulder in confusion as Eiko shook her head, "You've been living in the Netherworld for the past seven years, you know that demons don't devour humans like Lord Sullivan said, an-"
"I know, but Ameri's father said that many demons are going back to basics and I don't want to risk Azz or his family being some of those demons," Eiko sighed as Iruma continued, "You, Ameri, Clara, Haruno, Kerori, Elizabetta, your families, grandpa and Opera are currently the only ones who know I'm from the human world, even though I refuse to be recognized as a human a-"
"Why is that? You're originally from the human world, and even through you're a Changeling, you refuse to acknowledge that you were once human," Eiko stated and Iruma frowned as he shook his head, "Iruma?"
"It's…it's nothing, Eiko," Iruma sighed and looked up at the sky, "The only ones who know outside of myself are the adults and I swore them to secrecy. I'll tell you, Clara, Ameri, Elizabetta, Kerori and Haruno when I'm ready,"
Eiko opened her mouth, ready to speak again when the two of them heard a voice call to them, "There you are," the two looked back to se Ameri stepping towards them. Stopping in front of them, she stared down at them, "Iruma, if you aren't completely up for a reading session, you're more than welcome to cancel an-"
"No…like I told Clara, it was a full moon last night and the canines in my subconscious wanted to take over just to howl at the moon, I'm fine," Eiko frowned as Ameri arched a brow and Iruma shook his head, "I'll be fine, let's just get to the reading session," Ameri and Eiko sighed and nodded before the three of them turned and began walking away.
Alice peered around the tree with a questionable look crossing his face, "Master Iruma is spending time with Oni and the Student Council President? What am I missing here?" Alice groaned as he shook his head, "Pull yourself together, Asmodeus! Whatever Master Iruma is planning must be important, but what does Oni have to do with it?" he looked back before he followed the three closely.
The six demonesses sat in front of Iruma while Iruma stood next to a table, an opened book in his hands before Ameri cleared her throat, "Now…read the next chapter for First Love Memories," Iruma hummed and nodded before he looked down and began reading the Manga.
The six listened as Iruma continued to read before Kerori spoke up, "Um," everyone looked at her as she looked up, a confused look crossing her face, "What are fireworks?" the other demonesses looked at Iruma in confusion.
"Really? The Netherworld doesn't have fireworks?"
"Iruma, you've been living in the Netherworld for seven years and have you ever seen any fireworks?" Haruno asked and Iruma shook his head, "And why do you think that is?"
"I originally thought that that was because they were used for really, really special occasions, but…I guess the Netherworld doesn't have fireworks," Iruma sighed and rubbed the back of his neck, "Fireworks are shells filled with gunpowder and other components, and shortly after you light the fuse, it'll shoot up in the night sky and explode in a show of lights, many in different patterns and colors," the six stared at him with wide eyes, "You six really haven't seen fireworks before, have you?"
"No," Elizabetta answered, "But from the sound of it, they're beautiful," Iruma frowned as he looked down at his claws, "Well, aren't you going to continue?" Iruma hummed in confusion before he continued to read.
Iruma soon closed the Manga and reached for the next chapter when he stopped and turned, looking at the door as he growled, "Who's there!" Ameri demanded, standing up as she narrowed her eyes.
Walking over to the door, she opened it and the seven watched as Alice fell forward and landed on the floor in front of Ameri, "Azz?" Iruma spoke.
"Azz-Azz?" Clara sat up and arched a brow, "What are you doing here? Did you get lonely without us, Azz-Azz?"
"Of course not," the dignified demon stood up and dusted himself off, "I was simply curious what you meant by a reading session, Valac an-"
"Azz," Iruma sighed and all eyes locked on him as he shook his head, "It's getting late, why don't you go home, Azz,"
"What?" Alice looked at Iruma in disbelief, "Did I upset you, Master Iruma?"
"No, but it's getting late and we were just about to go home ourselves." Iruma shook his head and Alice sighed and frowned before he nodded and turned and walked way. Seeing Alice turn the corner, Iruma took a deep breath and shook his head, "Listen," everyone looked at him in confusion, "I'm…I'm going to have to cancel tomorrow's reading session,"
"What?" they said in unison before Ameri spoke, "What's the meaning of this, Iruma? We were going to allow you to take today off and you said you were fine! Explain yourself, Iruma!"
"I know, but I have something to take care of tomorrow…also I'm probably not in school," their eyes widened as Iruma rubbed the back of his head and looked away, "I'm going to talk to grandpa about that, but it'll be better if I stayed home tomorrow,"
The room fell silent before Clara stepped closer to him, "Iruma-kins?" Iruma looked at her and arched a brow, "Do you not like reading to us?"
"N-no…it's not that, I enjoy reading First Love Memories, but I really do have something to take care of and it'll be easier if I stayed home tomorrow," Iruma waved his arms around.
Haruno arched a brow and hummed, "It's not the first week of June…where do you disappear to for those two weeks? And what are you going to be doing tomorrow?"
"What happens in June is personal and…I just have something to take care of tomorrow," before anyone could reply, they watched as Iruma ran towards the window and opened it before his body began twisting and they watched a blue bat flew out of the window in a huff. The six looked at each other before taking deep breaths and walked out of the room, Ameri closing the door behind her.
Iruma walked through the front door of the mansion and called out, "I'm home!"
"Welcome home, sir," he looked to his right ad saw Opera standing next to him, "Dinner will be ready shortly,"
"Thank you, Opera,"
Sullivan ran towards them and smiled, "Welcome home, darling grandson," Iruma smiled and nodded at his adopted grandfather, "Getting in a little late today, Iruma. Is everything okay?"
"Everything is fine, grandpa, I was just spending time with Clara, Ameri, Kerori, Haruno, Eiko and Elizabetta," Sullivan hummed and nodded, "And grandpa…would it be alright if I stayed home tomorrow?"
"Hmm…whatever for?"
"I have something special planned for Clara, Ameri, Kerori, Eiko, Elizabetta and Haruno, but I need to stay home and set everything up tomorrow,"
The old demon hummed as he rubbed his chin. Looking down at his adopted grandson, Sullivan smiled and slightly nodded, "I don't see why not. You've been doing so well in school that I think you've earned a little time to yourself to set up a surprise for your little friends,"
"I'm sorry, grandpa, but it's a surprise," confused, Sullivan simply nodded before the three of them walked away from the door.
After eating and cleaning up, Iruma excused himself before he turned and walked down the hall to his room. Stepping into the room, he closed and locked the door before he sighed and looked down at his claws. Inhaling slowly, he raised his arm up and closed his eyes tightly as he swung his arm down. Opening his eyes, he saw a bright light fill the room before he swallowed hard and stepped towards the light.
Iruma laid on his side, staring at two small piles of boxes before he turned on his back and raised his arm up and stared at his claws and the golden ring that dawned his middle finger, "Was that you? Or can I do that on my own?" yawning, he lowered his arm and closed his eyes, "I guess I'll worry about it later," taking a deep breath, the blue-haired changeling turned on his side and slowly drifted off to sleep.
Well…it's not following canon but…enjoy.
