(A/N) Hey Hey

I'm back early this time!

I've had this and the next chapter done since Tuesday but since I wanted to stay ahead I chose not to post it until it got closer to Sunday.

I have a bit more time on my hands now since I'm officially taking a break from drawing. It has brought me nothing but anger and sadness these past few months so I will be focusing more on my writing since that has made me happy recently. Be prepared to see a few one shots pop up soon.

Anyways a bit of a longer chapter...

Enjoy!

A text was more harder than Marinette thought. Talking to Luka should of been simple since they had history but her fingers just lingered over the screen blankly unable to spell out a single word to the man.

Abandoning the device on the coffee table, Marinette ran her hands through her hair feeling the weight of it all lie on her shoulders.

She had never been so stressed about her life since Master Fu had left her in charge of the miracle box and that was something to actually be stressed about.

Her love life, it should've been easy.

Now the night with Adrien and Luka coming back into her life all at the same time, it was just a big mess.

Something old Marinette had a talent for causing.

Picking up her phone again, the bluenette leant back into her sofa. Her fingers hovered over the screen again but this time she was to determine to write something.

Anything!

[M: Hey its Marinette]

Well it was better than nothing, she thought.

It wasnt a second later that a reply came through. This was just her luck she had caught the musician while he had his phone in his hands.

[L: Hey its Luka.]

Well dah, Marinette thought, a little giggle leaving her lips. She already knew it was him, but knowing Luka he was only trying to lighten the mood.

[M: So I was thinking... Maybe we could grab a coffee... sometime.]

Gosh she sounded so stupid, like a teenage girl all over again. Why was it so hard to ask a friend for a coffee without sounding like a school kid.

Luka didn't seem to mind as another ding sounded from her phone.

[L: How about tonight?]

Tonight? It was already night and Marinette was already in her pyjamas.

[L: Well maybe not an coffee but I sure could go for an icecream.]

Tempting, she thought, shifting her feet up onto the coffee table and biting the end of her thumb as she hugged into her knee, crumpling up the soft fabricof her pyjama bottoms.

Icecream did sound good.

Looking towards tikki's sleeping form on the kitchen counter, surrounded by cookie crumbs, she began to weigh in the pros and cons of getting out of the house after she already got all snuggled up.

It was still her birthday and all her single life was left to do was watch some cheesy rom-com on a Sunday night with a glass of whatever she touched in her liquor cabinet and hit the pillow once she got bored.

Thats pretty much how every birthday night had been so far. Gosh her life was really depressing without the suit!

[L: Only if you're up for it.]

Her fingers lingered over the screen again.

[M: Sure, why not!]

It typed out and sent before her brain even registered what she was doing. At least it beat being lonely. Tikki of course didn't count!

"Tikki, we are going out!" Marinette sung out to her kwami as she walked the short distance to her room to get dressed.

The little kwami's head popped up and she rubbed her eyes. "Now?" She groaned sleepily.

It wasnt a moment later that the bluenette walked out of her bedroom, fully dressed in a light pink loose top with black jeans and her pink slip ons.

No way was she wearing heels again after last night. Her feet were already sore enough as it was and that was only to make Alya happy.

"Yes, now." She stated as she tied up her hair into a quick pony tail and grabbed her black jacket off the hanger near the front door.

Placing her little pink clutch over her shoulder, Marinette opened it up and ushered her kwami to get inside.

"Dont worry, we won't be long." Marinette assured her little friend. "Just catching up with an old friend."

Her lips twitched into a small smile upon saying that, not really knowing the reason why she even did it in the first place.

Tikki smiled back before disappearing in the darkness of her bag.

The tingle of her lips quivered under his touch. Slowly running his thumb against her bottom lip. Green eyes glowing in the moonlight, focusing on everything he touched.

"I hope you weren't waiting too long." Luka came to sit next to Marinette as she pulled her hand away from her mouth.

She slightly jumped, too distracted by the memory of the night before. How Adrien had that affect on her really made her daydreams take her away to another place.

"Sorry, didn't mean to startle you." Luka ran a hand through his hair, feeling guilty for coming up to her while she was obviously deep in thought.

Marinette shook her head and put on her best fake smile. "No its fine." She reassured. "Just had a lot on my mind. Are you ready to go?"

She had gotten up quickly, pointing a thumb over her shoulder in the direction of the icecream shop.

The bluenette was glad Andre had finally settled into one place with his icecream these days. Finding him now would be too much of an effort. Maybe in her school years it was fun but now she had a job and other commitments than to run around Paris trying to get something sweet.

Luka got up and walked to her side, hesitating wheather to take her hand or just walk beside her.

"Sure."

When Marinette turned on her heel and began walking in the direction she had pointed to earlier, he had no choice but to follow her.

They walked side by side in silence, hands inside their jacket pockets and heads focus mainly towards the ground. It was a bit awkward to start a conversation with him, she didn't even know where to begin.

It had been too long.

Luka's shoulder lightly bumped her own shoulder by accident, making her lose a bit of balance and stumbled to the side.

Marinette glanced back at the man once she got her bearings and notice he was showing worry and concern for her.

To lighten the mood she shouldered him lightly back and smiled. Luka finally relaxed and smiled back, leaning over her way to do it again.

Marinette stepped backwards and Luka tumbled to the side but didn't fall over. His balance was caught off guard when he didn't have her shoulder to support his weight on.

Once he stood up properly and ran his hand through his hair, Marinette began to laugh. She first tried to cover it but it burst out in a fit of giggles instead.

Luka glanced back at her and smirked, eying the girl off as though she was in big trouble! He was out for revenge and she could sense it.

"N-No!" She laughed waving her arms in surrender. "Luka I..."

Before finishing that sentence she broke out into a sprint towards the ice cream shop, laughing and smiling as Luka followed after her.

She was pretty fast normally but the musician managed to catch up, grabbing her around the waist and wrapping his arms tightly around her so she couldn't escape.

Marinette squeaked once he make contact and laughter soon followed. She had her eyes shut as she was a laughing mess.

"Marinette?"

The door near them made a ringing sound as it shut, making the duo freeze on the spot. She knew that voice, he was chanting her name over and over again just under twenty hours earlier.

Eyes immediently shot open, smiles disappeared and Marinette was left staring at the guy that made one night so special to her.

Even if she was a bad person for it.

"Marinette." Adrien said her name again to confirm. "What are you doing here?"

The blonde's eyes moved from the bluenette to the musician and then back to her, waiting for someone to give him an answer.

Marinette opened her mouth to speak but another ringing sound of the door and a girl that spoke in frustration interrupted her.

"I can't believe they were out of simple mint flavour." The girl said in a huff. "I had to settle for chocolate mint inst..." Pausing right next to Adrien the young women looked over the group, her expression was startled.

Of course she was beautiful, Marinette had seen this girl on the cover of Magazines and on the headline of the news reports but knew, being in the fashion industry; well sort of, they glam them up so they look stunning no matter what.

This women however didn't need any of that.

A perfect blue eyed, blonde hair beauty stood beside Adrien, her arm weaving his as though she felt a tad threaten by the group.

"Bethany this is Marinette and Luka." Adrien started. "Marinette was one of my good friends back in Lycee." The girls eyed each other down for a few moments, letting the information sink in. "This is Bethany, m-my fiance."

Her heart just broke a little but she knew it was going to come out of his mouth sooner or later. The girl was everywhere with Adrien and now she was here of all places.

How much worse did the world want to make her feel?

Adrien continued on, noticing the silence between the group. "Marinette is the designer I told you about."

He had turned to his fiance, a look of panic was covered with a fake smile. Mentioning that was all that was needed to get this girl to loosen up.

"You're Marinette Dupain-Cheng?" She gasped, smiling and leaning towards her.

Marinette leaned away from her, eyes going wide with the sudden outburst of happiness. "Y-yes?"

Immediently Bethany let go of Adrien's arm, shoving the icecream into his free hand and marching up to Marinette, giving her a big hug out of the blue.

Horrible person, terrible person, awful person. Marinette reminded herself as she was squeezed.

"Adrien has told me so much about you." She squeaked, releasing her from the hug but still keeping her hands on her shoulders. "I can't believe you are here, its fate." Bethany turned towards Adrien and smiled. "I'snt it honey?"

Marinette followed her line of vision to the blonde behind and saw how his eyes went wide.

"You don't understand how thrilled I am to meet you!" She chirped. "By the way you look stunning." Turning back to Adrien she said. "You never told me she was gorgeous Adrien!"

Marinette swore she heard a choke leave Adrien's throat and a giggle leave Luka's mouth from that statement alone.

Wow how things got awkward quickly.

"Well I..." Adrien started, rubbing his nape awkwardly.

Bethany didn't bother to wait for Adrien to finish, instead she focused on the man standing next to Marinette. "And you must be Luka!"

"Nice to meet you." Luka smiled and waved, feeling a bit out of place.

Tapping her index finger against her mouth in thought, Bethany just had to ask. "You wouldn't happen to be Luka Couffaine would you?"

A light chuckle left his lips with a small nod of his head to answer. "Indeed I am."

The blonde squealed in glee, clapping her hands together as she cheered. "This is my lucky night."

And Marinette's unlucky night.

"I wouldn't normally ask this while you're busy on a date but I'm really desperate." The blonde explained.

"Oh we aren't dating." Both Marinette and Luka stated at the same time, looking between each other in a bit of shock they had said the same thing.

Bethany looked between the two, confused. "Oh, I'm sorry I just thought..." She stopped in her tracks and changed what she was about to say. "...Well that's too bad cause you guys would make the perfect couple."

Marinette and Luka looked at each other again, pink dusting their cheeks at her comment. This girl was straight forward but at least she was nice.

Yep she's nice and you slept with her man, great one Marinette. She scoled herself.

"You just have to help me design my dress!" Bethany blurted, turning towards the bluenette and gripping onto her shoulders again. "Your designs are amazing, Adrien showed me a few of your sketches he kept from lycee and the hat you design, very well done indeed."

Marinette looked between Adrien and his fiance, unable to speak properly. It was a shock this was sprung upon her but hearing Adrien keep her sketches she gave him in Lycee, she didn't know how to feel about that.

"Uhh..."

"I will pay you twice in what you charge." Bethany interrupted. "Oh please." She begged. "It would mean the world to us if you could."

The bluenette hadn't stopped eying Adrien, trying to figure out what the hell was going on and how this had gotten this far.

"I g-guess I c-could..." Marinette stuttered.

She heard a squeak and suddenly her lungs felt squished again as arms wrapped around her tightly.

"Ahh! You're a life saver." Bethany cheered. "I was starting to worry about having the wedding here but with you being a brillant designer and Adrien being the best support ever it just made my day feel a whole lot easier." She explained.

Marinette smiled and look towards Luka, trying not to focus so much on Adrien as she was only moments ago.

"And you!" Bethany gripped Luka and he almost jumped out of his skin. "Could you play at our wedding?" She asked desperately. "I know I'm asking a lot from you both so suddenly but I will pay you double as well."

"I uhhh..."

"Please!" She begged. "The wedding was meant to be in Italy but since Adrien's father is sick and he can't travel, everything has been cancelled."

Luka looked towards Marinette who seem to be smiling at him and encouraging him with the look in her eyes. He was sure this was a bad idea since she use to have feeling for the guy but the bluenette had shown no sign of discomfort from the request.

Well from what he saw anyways.

"Okay, sure. When do you want me to play?" Luka asked.

Bethany walked off with Luka to get a seat to talk about what she wanted him to play and what day, leaving Marinette and Adrien to themselves.

The silence was thick in that moment, she hadn't been alone like this with Adrien since last night and that turned into something more than they were both expecting.

Icecream started dripping down Adrien's hand so he licked it with the tip of his tongue, running it from his hand to the top of the cone.

It reminded Marinette when he had used his tounge in such a way, licking from her navel, up over the valley of her breast and up her neck, where he bit lightly below her jaw. Making sure he didn't leave a mark in the process.

She shivered at the thought and that attracted Adrien's attention back on her, his green eyes gazing over her and his previous movements halted.

"Look I..." Marinette started to speak but was interrupted.

"Are you okay?" He asked and it startled Marinette.

"Oh y-yeah, I'm fine." She replied unconvincingly but smile anyways.

"You sure?" He asked again and Marinette could of hit him over the head if he asked her that one more time.

Did he want her to ball into tears in the middle of the street? Cause she was in fact not okay, not one bit!

"Of course I am." She puffed. "Why wouldn't I be?"

Please don't answer that. She inwardly pleaded with him.

"Are you okay?" She asked before he could answer her previous question.

He rubbed his nape with his free hand and glanced away briefly. "Marinette, I've been wanting to..."

"You could of told me the icecream was melting." Bethany interrupted, taking the icecream out of Adrien's hand and weaving her free arm with Adrien's.

Marinette stepped back from the duo, feelings as though she had step too close into their personal space.

Adrien finally spoke, not taking his eyes off Marinette. "Sorry, I guess I'm more tired than I thought."

The bluenette broke her gaze and turned to Luka who was walking their way, a big smile on his features.

She wanted to talk to Adrien more about what had happened but she couldn't, not with Bethany by his side.

"Are you ready to go." Luka spoke softly, moving closer to her and grabbing her hand to give her a reasurring squeeze.

Marinette nodded and squeeze back, trying to put on her best smile for the small crowd. It was hard but she managed.

"We will see you at the bar this weekend?" Luka said to the couple, leaning in to hug Bethany while he turn to Adrien and shook his hand.

"Bar?" Marinette questioned, feeling like she was missing something.

"Yeah." Luka said. "Didn't Alya tell you that kitty section is getting back together this weekend for a small show?" He questioned as he looked towards the confused bluenette.

Adrien had looked a bit shocked as well, he never got the memo and he was once apart of that band.

"No, she forgot to inform me." Marinette grumbled.

Bethany laughed, weaving around Luka to say her goodbyes to the bluenette. "It would be awesome to get together again." She stated. "We could get to know each other better and discuss styles."

"Yeah." Marinette squeaked, letting go of the hug and awkwardly smiling back at the blonde women.

"It was nice meeting you Marinette." She chirped happily.

"Yeah, you too." She replied but her throat felt a bit dry while she spoke those words.

The bluenette didn't realise that after Bethany let go, Luka had moved out of the way so Adrien had full view of her again.

"Bye Marinette." He said.

Marinette quickly turned around and waved, hoping to not make contact with the man. Mostly in fear she wouldn't be able to let go.

"Bye Adrien." She squeaked.

The blonde moved forward and wrapped his arms around her, trying to give her a friendly hug but it was looking awkward as Marinette didn't know where to put her hands without it looking suss.

After a few seconds they let go but before Marinette left, Adrien blurted out. "Oh and Happy Birthday."

Marinette walked pass the duo and into the icecream shop, stopping just at the doorway with Luka behind her.

"Thank you."

The bell jingled from the door closing making Luka turn to towards Marinette since they were both now alone and away from the couple.

"Are you okay?" Luka asked, knowing how uncomfortable that must of been for her.

Marinette looked out the window and watch their silhouettes disappear into the darkness.

"I'm fine."
