(A/N) Look here, I'm posting a day early lol mainly cause I've been sitting on this chapter since Monday!
I notice a lot of people have been requesting Adrien's side of the story, well this story is meant to be based off Marinette side, Not Adrien's but I have put a few bits in next chapter that will reflect on Adrien and what is going on. Just don't expect it to be on going or switching between because it's hard enough writing about one person than to write two, I get drained so easily and my chapters take longer.
Anyways I'm going to keep it short and let you read.
Enjoy...
"Someone looks chipper this morning." Alya gleefully greeted her friend when she came into the Cafe with dark shades covering her eyes to hide the hangover she was sporting.
"I feel dead!" Marinette deadpanned as she sat down at the table. "I am never listening to you again!" She whined.
"Well that was one hell of a fight. I took so many pictures of you!" The reporter scrolled through her phone, showing the bluenette all the photos she took the night before. "Maybe we should give you liquor more often when an akuma attacks. You were on fire girl."
"Until I was sick!" Marinette pointed out.
"Yeah well, a little set back but other then that how did it feel?" Alya was too excited over this, Marinette just wanted to lay her head down and go back to sleep and maybe invest in some ear plugs if she ever had the chance.
Groaning, she asked. "Why are we talking about this?"
"Because I just want to know!" Alya cheered on, Eager to hear about her drunk adventures. "Nino was being stubborn and wouldn't let me out of his sight so I couldn't be in the action." She could almost see a little pout forming on Alya's face.
Marinette leant back in her chair and let out a sarcastic bark of laughter. "Or your plan all along was to get a bit of alcohol in my system so I would loosen up."
"Did it work?"
Groaning again, she folded her arms on the table and replied sternly. "No, not really!"
"It did work! You're just grumpy cause you drank more than I planned on and it made you have a massive hang over." Alya stated. There was no getting anywhere with the reporter with this conversation.
"Remind me never to let you make the plans again!" Marinette sternly replied, feeling her head pound loudly.
"At least you got some side action with Chat Noir!" Alya laughed, nudging her friends foot under the table.
Marinette tucked her legs away from her reach and perked back up. "I didn't... I mean we didn't... it-it was only a kiss!" She stuttered, feeling her face heat up at the mention of her partner.
"Girl that was more than a kiss!" Alya smirked. "If I left you two alone any longer it would've gotten real steamy in that room." When she saw Marinette groan and hide her face away from the embarrassment, Alya decided to continue. "Hey! I know you two are real close so I was shipping it but to tell you the truth I thought that would've been Luka with the way you were grinding up against each other earlier. Like don't get me wrong Chat is great but unless you told him you were Ladybug I don't get the whole going after Marinette thing..." When Marinette didn't reply Alya gasped. "No! You didn't?"
The bluenette tried to hush her friend before people around started listening in. "No! I didn't! You know we can't!"
Alya shrugged. "Well those events happened ten years ago, maybe things have changed?" Shrugging, she continued. "Besides that was a different timeline! It didn't actually happen now did it?"
Marinette just rolled her eyes, unsure in how to answer, but annoyed they were having this conversation. "I guess but..."
"No buts! Maybe getting with Chat Noir is better then trying to re-light your old flame with Luka!"
It was obvious that Chat Noir never mention his relationship status to Alya during the interview. Maybe they had forgotten to talk about it when she was asking all her other questions.
Well she at least hope so! Then there wouldn't be another explanation about being with a guy who was clearly taken and Alya not grilling her about it! She was dreading that conversation when she found out about Adrien!
Yep, she was definitely building a reputation for herself.
If only her heart would let her be happy and settled with Luka, then she wouldn't have to worry about this sort of thing anymore and guilt wouldn't exist. But of course her heart had to complicated things. Even the way it now torn into two pieces with two different guys.
Yep, her head just took on too much while she was still recovering! The spilting headache now seeping through behind her eye lids.
"I'm starving!" Alya grumbled. "Enough talking, I need to..."
"...Taste some wedding cakes for me?" Bethany begged over the phone.
Marinette pinched the brim of her nose as she groaned, trying to walk back to her apartment so she could relax for the rest of the day. She couldn't be tired for when she came into work the next day or her boss would have her head.
"Why can't you try some yourself?" She asked, annoyance starting to seep through her tone.
"I'm on my way back to Milan as we speak and Adrien has a photo shoot until late, plus to top it all off my maid of honour bailed on me." She huffed some curses under her breath, which Marinette couldn't quite hear.
Way to make her feel horrible. "I... I don't know..."
"Please! It would mean the world to me and Adrien!"
"Adrien and I!" Marinette corrected.
"Adrien and... Whatever, still the same meaning." She mumbled back.
No it wasn't, Marinette thought back but didn't voice it.
"How am I meant to know what cake you two want?"
"I just thought since you knew Adrien you would know what he likes. I'm not a big fan on cake, or sweets for that matter so I'm not fussed about what we get." The blonde stated.
How did Marinette get stuck with this and why couldn't she say no? "Okay, fine, I'll do it!" She gave in with a roll of her eyes.
Marinette could hear Tikki's tiny giggles from her clutch when she saw the reaction of her holder.
"Great!" Bethany squeaked a cheer. "Thank you so much!"
Marinette faked a smile, thanking the device that Bethany couldn't see it from the other end. "Don't mention it." She replied with clenched teeth.
"They'll be expecting you in an hour, I'll text you all the details." Bethany explained, rushing on the other end of the phone.
"In an hour? Bethany I can't..." Marinette started to explain but got cut off.
"I have to run, I'll see you when I get back! Bye!" The phone hung up before she could even say anything more.
Why did she even say yes? Why did she get herself into these things without learning the information before hand? Why couldn't she just say no?
"Looks like we are going to be trying some treats Tikki." Marinette told her kwami, seeing as her eyes lit up from the words.
"At least this bad situation has its perks." Tikki pointed out, the gleeful expression only getting wider.
"For you maybe, but for me... I-I just got my sweet tooth under control." She explained. "Now it's going to feel like I'm living in my parents bakery all over again!"
"That's a bad thing?" Tikki asked as Marinette turned to walk the other way when she received a text from Bethany with the address.
It was sort of a bad thing, Marinette had hardly seen her parents since she moved out and this would only guilt her more to go visit them.
They would want a full report on her relationship status, then her father will tell her, the way to a man's heart is through their stomach. He will then have some way in pushing all he's new treats onto her.
On the plus side Tikki will be covered for the week.
"No, I guess it isn't."
"What about this one Tikki?"
Marinette grabbed a spoonful of caramel banana flavoured cake and fed it to her kwami who was hiding down in her purse. She watched as Tikki's eyes lit up at the treat, her little tounge licking around her lips.
"Mmm. Delish." The Kwami praised. "But do you really think Adrien would like that flavour?" She questioned, knowing from the past and Marinette's obsession that he loved passionfruit over everything else.
Marinette huffed and looked at her empty spoon. "I don't know what Adrien wants anymore!" She said honestly.
It was true, seven years away from each other had changed him, it had sort of changed her as well. Maybe that changed his favourite flavour too?
"Were you talking about about the cake or what he wants in life?" Tikki asked, feeling her holder's frustration coming out.
"What do you think?" Marinette replied dryly before getting up off her seat and preparing to leave the venue. "Maybe this wasn't a good idea after all."
Once she grabbed her belongings and placed everything away, she began to head for the exit. The bluenette would have to come up with some excuse as to why she had bailed on the cake tasting to Bethany.
Her track record of excuses were absolutely horrible, maybe the truth for once in her life would be a better outcome.
Marinette looked up after grabbing her jacket and placing it over her arm, hoping to spot someone who worked here and tell them about her departure, but when she spotted the employee she also spotted someone very familiar.
Eyes blew wide as the blonde male looked around to find his table they had set up for him. Marinette tried to duck out of veiw in a spilt second when she realised what he was doing and ducked behind the table.
He wasn't just looking for the table with what she could see. She knew he was looking for her! Of course they would've told him she was there, she had after all signed in when she arrived and told them about how the bride and groom couldn't make it.
"Marinette?" Adrien took a step forward, looking around the place for the girl.
Marinette just squinted her eyes and cursed. There was no way she could get away from him without being spotted, so she had no other choice.
Popping up out of hiding the bluenette awkwardly smiled. "A-Adrien." She stuttered. "Fancy meeting you here of all places." She looked around, coming up with a horrible excuse that she knew he wouldn't believe. "I was just... uh."
Adrien gave a weak smile back and let out a sigh. "She convinced you to come here didn't she?" When Marinette's eye contact wavered away from his and she startled biting the edge of her thumb, Adrien Continued. "You didn't have to..."
She waved him off. "It's fine." Marinette reassured.
"It's not fine!"
The Bluenette was hurt, feeling as though Adrien didn't want her there. "It is... really." Her voice cracked with the last word.
Not only seeing him again after the night she had but also hearing how he felt embarrassed that his fiance forced her to come to their special moment, made her bottom lip tremble.
This was the reason she tried to cut him off, tried to forget about everything that had happened between them and also the reason she made out with Chat Noir.
It wasn't only meant to exist cause it was wrong, it was meant to exist because she knew deep down he would never leave Bethany for her and she had to protect her heart at all costs.
"I-I... Was about to head out anyways." She explained, feeling the tears whelling up in her eyes. "Sorry!"
Marinette pushed past him and walked out of the venue, hoping she could leave with some dignity. She manage to make it across the road and just into an alleyway so she could transform and leave in a hurry.
Something inside of her paused, realising she couldn't run away from this fear anymore. The fear of rejection, the future... She had to stop denying it herself.
She Loved him.
Turning around to go back to him she had saw him cross the road, standing only a few metres away from her after a few steps. He had also paused, surprised that she turned back.
That pause didn't last long as they both moved in sync, almost rushing towards each other like magnets. They joined together in a kiss, her hands tangled in the back of his hair while his hands were resting against her cheeks.
There was no denying the inevitable now.
"Please tell me you want me, I want to hear you say it." Adrien panted, his breath ghosting over her cheeks and swollen lips. "Tell me the truth."
Marinette looked up at him and bit her bottom lip, searching his eyes for that rejection if she told him the truth. "I do." She admitted with a nod, still in his grasp. "I've always wanted you, I know I shouldn't, but I do"She connected their lips together in another sweet kiss to confirm that she meant it.
She always had!

• "Don't try to fool me and tell me you weren't even slightly thinking about it!"
• "This isn't the same with choosing Marinette, Ladybug or Kagami back in Lycee. This choice has a lot more on the line than a mere crush. You're getting Married Adrien, not playing dress ups! You need to choose before someone else does and you know how I feel when someone steals my cheese!"
• "I don't want to make him more nervous then he already is!"
• "I swear this fitted you a few weeks ago!"
• "Seriously! There is something going on and I want to know!"
Shaz Out...
