Welcome to my first and late Christmas story. Until dawn is still being worked on, just hoping I'm having some massive writer's block and not lack of motivation. This story isn't going to be a one shot, in fact this is a prequel to a story that motivated me to make this account. This is the orphaned fanfic but Tiago survives the ending. Now, I'm not going to do the stories right now as I want it to be as perfect as possible. This story isn't going to be a happy story, it's going to be a sad one.
Let's just start with the story. (Original was made by Professor Ass Spiders.)
Christmas. The most jolly holiday in the world. A holiday for everyone to spend time with their family, Especially around Moose Lake, Minnesota.
But for Tiago, it wasn't jolly, in fact his face showed the feelings of grief, sorrow and regret.
For this would be the first Christmas he had to celebrate alone without his family.
The family whose bodies will never be found. The family that he practically left behind. A family that hates him.
He looked outside from the window. He saw birds flying in a v formation, some of them were chicks, enjoying their time with their family.
Tiago had to look away tearfully as painful memories were already playing in his head.
He walked back to his cage, closing it as he didn't want to celebrate Christmas. How could he celebrate a holiday that represents the joys of the world when his family were killed and consumed by harpy eagles?
"Tiago?" Linda asked as she saw him perching in his cage. She bought another cage just for him. It was painful for them both to look at the cage that once housed Blu?
"Tiago, get up." Linda pleaded. She was probably worrying too much but she lost what she considered her grandchildren and she didn't want to lose him as well.
After a while, Tiago glided down to the lock and opened it, a solemn look at his face.
Linda knew he was grieving, Tiago lost his family and he had to run away. Even if he manages to overcome his grief, he isn't to be the same Tiago, he isn't going to be the same energetic and playful chick Linda knew. They were never going to be the same again.
It was 9:00 pm, Linda was asleep in her room. Tiago always walked towards her room during this time. He always hears sobbing coming from Linda's room.
He went inside of the room.
Tears still on Linda's face as she slept. Tiago looked around the room and saw an opened box.
Tiago opened the box and inside there were 2 discs, both of them having names on them.
He carefully used his talons to go through the holes in the center and flew towards the living room.
Tiago carefully inserted the first disc into the dvd player.
The disc showed the fake jungle of the sanctuary.
"Are you sure we have to do this Blu?" Tiago's breathing abruptly stopped as he heard his mothers voice.
"I'm sure, besides I think Linda would appreciate it." Tiago saw his father writing something on a piece of paper.
After Blu had finished writing, he showed it to the camera recorder.
Blu saw that he left the camera on record, ruining his surprise for Linda.
After a couple minutes of Blu blushing in embarrassment, he showed the paper to the recorder.
The writing on the paper was, "Merry Christmas from Blu and Jewel." It also showed 2 feathers representing them both.
"Mom. Dad." Tiago said out loud as tears started flooding. Ever since he got to Minnesota, He really spoke or even got out of his cage.
The dvd player released the disc.
Tiago wanted to stop but curiosity forced him to keep going.
He inserted the 2nd disc into the dvd player, his talons wobbling as tears were still in his eyes.
The disc showed the nest box.
Blu had 5 sheets of paper and a pencil. Behind him was Jewel, Carla, Bia and Tiago. The triplets were only 4 months old.
The 1st piece of paper had merry Christmas written on it with a picture of the family having miniature Santa hats on them.
The 2nd piece of paper showed Tiago with a small sugar cookie in his beak.
The 3nd one showed Bia building a gingerbread house with the help of Linda, Tulio and Fernando.
The 4th showed Jewel helping Tulio and Linda setting up the tree.
The 5th piece of paper was blank.
"Can you say hi to Linda?" Jewel asked her children.
"Hello, Grandma Linda." All three of the chicks said at the same time.
Tiago was sobbing as memories came back even harder than before. Tiago saw what his father had written on the 5th sheet of paper.
It had the words, "The kids said hi." on it and the recorder ended.
Tiago laid on the floor sobbing.
The memories of happier moments were practically ripping him apart.
Tiago let out a cry of anguish.
Why? Why did this have to happen. What did he do to deserve this?
What did he do that fate decided to let him suffer, suffer worse than his family?
Why was he the only one to survive?
Linda sprinted towards the living room, Hearing Tiago's mournful scream.
She saw Tiago on the floor, Sobbing. Linda saw what was on the tv.
Linda gently picked up Tiago.
Tiago sobbed even harder as he questioned.
Why? Why was he celebrating alone?
Why was he the only survivor?
His parents should be here celebrating with their son. His sister's should be here with him, faces of glee as they open their presents with Linda and Tulio.
Linda carefully put him in his cage.
She carried the cage to her room, placing it near one of the cabinets she has in her room.
Linda has to stay strong for Tiago. She has to be the parental figure again.
It's the least she could do for Blu.
This story will be canon to the Tiago survives AU. I know most of you have a lot of questions but they will be explained when I officially start this AU. Hopefully, I'll see you guys at the finale of Until Dawn.
