(A/N) Good Morning/Night everyone

Now this is where Chat Noir kissing Marinette will make a bit more sense. Even tho I'm a sucker for Marichat I had to put a reason in for why it happen and how it came to fall into place.

This is a bit of a mixed emotions chapter so be warned. Nothing too big but drama none the less lol

I have decided to post every second Sunday from now on (even tho I'm a day late today) I'm starting to draw again so I need that time to draw and write. You can follow me on @multi_shaz (instagram and tik tok) For more MLB drawings.

"How's fiji treating you?" Marinette asked Alya, sitting on her couch while she stired her tea perched in her lap.

The heat of the cup warm against her fingertips, the smell of rose and vanilla hitting her senses at the right moment. For the first time in a long time Marinette felt calm.

A few days had gone by, jobless and still no word from Adrien. Marinette hid herself inside, trying to figure out what to do while her friend was away on her honeymoon and her supplies were stuck in a building she had no access to.

The bluenette was lucky in a way she had a bit saved for a rainy day, keeping her just above water until she figure out something to help pay the bills.

"Remind me never to go anywhere pregnant again!" Alya groaned from the other side of the phone.

Marinette laughed and sipped her tea. Her mouth still half full when she replied with a small slurp. "Is pregnancy that bad?" She asked, swallowing the reminds of the hot liquid and feeling it glide down her throat. "You're really turning me off from having kids!"

Alya groaned again. "No, I think it's just twins. Everything just doubles. The morning sickness, the heartburn... did I mention I'm starting to feel like a heater?"

"No but I can imagine." Marinette chuckled thinking how hot it is down that way spring this time of year.

"My brain just feels like fuzz and I'm hungry all the time! Like I can't even concentrated on my report for Adrien Agreste moving back to Paris..." Alya rambled and Marinette spit her tea all over her lounge room floor.

"Shit!" She cursed under her breathe.

Placing her cup on the coffee table, she ran to get a towel to clean up the mess on the carpet, pinching a tissue along the way to wipe the remains off her chin.

Well calm and collective seem to go out the window at that moment.

"...because who wants to know about that?" The reporter asked, finishing her rambling.

Marinette had missed half the stuff she said after Adrien's name got brought up. "Whoa, whoa. Wait go back a bit." She gasped, letting the towel soak up the rest while she prepared herself back on the couch in an upright position for this news. Alya hummed in reply. "Adrien is Actually staying in Paris?"

She knew he would stay in Paris for her but they hadn't formally talked about where they would live, now that Marinette was out of a job. She hadn't even told him that detail yet.

"Yeah, he's out looking for houses right now. Nino was speaking to him about it ten minutes ago." Alya pointed out. "Bethany and Adrien will be also taking over the company while his father is sick." She added, making Marinette sharply intake air. "I thought you would've known?"

Obviously knowing her friend would keep track of this even when she swears they are nothing more than friends.

Marinette's heart dropped in the pit of her stomach, a sob threatening to leave her lips. No she didn't know, neither Adrien or Bethany had told her about this.

Once again she was left out of the loop and heartbroken.

First her job and now this.

She really thought he didn't reply to her because his father was in hospital, not because he was finding a way to go back to her.

How awful was their time together for him to even do that? She refuse to believe he was that bad of a person to just leave her hanging while he went back and forth between them both.

Maybe she didn't know Adrien the way she thought.

"Girl? You still with me?" Alya called, making Marinette wipe a stray tear from her cheek.

"Yeah, yeah. I'm here." The bluenette responded shakily.

"Great, you wouldn't believe what I have found for you..."

"Doesn't this place look great?" Bethany Chirped as she stretched her arms out and twirled, taking in a deep breath. "I can already smell the fresh air of Paris."

"The air isn't... mphf!" Plagg tried to mutter from Adrien's shirt but got muffled by Adrien placing a hand over the kwami so he wouldn't be discovered.

Luckily she missed Plagg's comment and continued, heels clicking over the wooden floors. "Look, The Eiffel Tower is in the best position from our bedroom." She sighed dreamily. "Don't you love this place or what?" She asked, looking towards Adrien for approval.

"You've said that about the last five places." Adrien pointed out, clearly not finding any enjoyment with this at all.

Nathalie stopped, noticing the sadness in Adrien's face. A few days ago he was lighting up with Marinette, even when his father was harsh on him but now all she could see was that light just disappearing.

She weakly smiled as Adrien glanced her way, looking at her to silently ask for her opinion. She didn't have the right to have one but she was sure it was more so of a way out then anything else.

If only she could help him.

"I got to say it does have potential." Nathalie added, hoping it would wrap things up.

Adrien hummed in thought. "I guess..." He muttered, clearly not amused by any of it.

Bethany lit up and ran over to the sales women. "We will take it!" She said with glee.

"Perfect!" The lady replied.

Everything after that was blocked out as Adrien walked over to the balcony and looked out over Paris, thoughts of Marinette running through his head.

He never pictured this being his life, still stuck in what is father wanted him to be rather than what he should be.

"They were just dreams, silly dreams that will most likely never come true." Marinette's voice rang in the back of his mind and for once he understood why.

Adrien could sense Nathalie coming up close behind him, imminent she was surely going to ask what was going on with him. "I'm fine Nathalie, just need a minute." Adrien could hear a small sob behind him so he turned around, seeing Nathalie on the brink of tears. "What's wrong?"

"Y-You're father has..." She broke down in tears and collapsed.

Adrien didn't need another word out of her, he knew exactly what had happened and followed her down to the floor, holding her as tight as he could.

Sadness hit his heart at the news he knew was bound to come but the feeling felt numb, as though the only emotion that came out of it was sorrow for only Nathalie's grieving and nothing more.

"Shhh..." Adrien hushed, trying to calm Nathalie down as much as he could.

"What happened?" Bethany came over and asked; the sales lady had clearly left to give them some privacy.

Bethany was the last person he wanted to comfort him right now.

Nathalie shakily replied. "Gabriel is... Gone!"

Bethany gasped and tried to touch Adrien's shoulder for comfort but he shrugged her off, getting up off the ground and walking fast, straight out the door.

"Adrien!" Bethany called out but he was not listening.

His legs started to move faster into a sprint, running as fast as he could away from her, away from the life he had to be in.

"Hey kid, let's talk about this..." Plagg suggested before he did something rash.

Adrien ran through an alley way, ignoring his kwami's pleads and called his transformation. "Plagg... Claws Out!" He yelled, not really caring who heard him.

Chat volted up with his staff and ran across the rooftop, yelling in anger. "Cataclysm!"

One of Gabriel's new ads featuring Adrien as the main model got turned into ash right as his feet. His breathing laboured as he finally let out his emotions with a scream.

But he still couldn't cry for the man.

"In other news, Gabriel Agreste has died in hospital after suffering complications with his heart."

The reporter spoke with a small gasp at the news herself, shuffling the papers so her words got back on track. "It comes as a sudden tragedy only weeks before his only sons wedding. Nadja has more on the story. Over to you..."

The TV shut off as Chat Noir slid silently on his side, his head hitting the pillow of the couch while he hid in Nino's empty apartment.

He didn't want to talk to Plagg or face the outside world. He just wanted to be alone with his empty thoughts on what was to happen next.

There was no way Adrien could face the press telling them he was a good man because frankly he wasn't. He wouldn't even know what kind of person he really was.

The past was all he could live by, before his mother passed away she was the happiness that made Gabriel calm and more attentive. After that he grown cold and distant.

Was it bad enough to wish this was his mother's funeral all over again? At least he would grieve properly and have better emotions then the numb feeling he felt now.

There was no way he could do this.

Two days away from the world, he just wanted to make this his home and never go back, hoping Nino would feel sorry for him and take him in so he didn't have to face anymore drama.

He was just lucky he wasn't pronounced missing yet.

Light blinded Chat's eyes as the switch flicked on. Voices and sounds of banging of baggage were heard. But Chat just laid there, hoping to be mistaken for a cat then an actual human being.

"Home sweet home." Alya breathed in before her nose scrunched up in disgust. "What's that smell?" She asked, dragging in her small suit case and leaving it near the front door.

Nino came through the doorway with most of the luggage and took a sniff. "I can't smell anything?"

The reporter ignored her partner and walked over to her balcony, drawing the curtains back and letting in more light. Chat hissed quietly the brighter the place got.

"There, more light and fresh air." She opened the door a bit to let some air flow inside to tone down that stench. "Hopefully that gets rid of that God awful smell!"

When she turned around to rest her aching back and feet on the couch, Alya almost jumped sky high when she saw a bundle heap of black blocking her way.

The reporter screamed and grabbed the lamp near her balcony door and pointed it towards the intruder, yelling out to her husband. "Nino! Call the police! Now!"

Nino yelled down the hall from their bedroom in responds, exhaustion evidentin his tone. "Why?"

"Don't ask silly questions! Someone has broken in... ahhh!" She jumped when Chat sat up and faced her, his shoulders slumped and face dropped to a pout. "...What the hell!"

She was not expecting the hero of Paris to be squating in her house. There was a exception for Marinette to use her place as a safe haven if she needed to get away as Ladybug or even her cilvian self while she was away, but she was sure that invation didn't extend to Chat Noir as well.

Well from what she thought.

Still holding the lamp out towards him, she pursed her lips and said. "You are so lucky I didn't whack you over the head!"

"Least I have some luck on my side." He chuckled sarcastically, not his peppy self. "Besides I doubt that could do much damaged while I'm in the suit." He gestured to the leather covering his body.

Nino came in with his phone in his hand, almost sounding out of breath. "I still don't understand why you want me to..." He spotted Chat and beamed. "Oh hey dude! Thought you'd be here."

"You let him come here? How the fuck do you know Chat Noir?" Alya asked In confusion, the lamp still clutched in her grip.

Nino walked over and brought him in for a hug. "You okay dude?" He asked. "I heard the news. Anything I can do?"

He knew the relationship he shared with his father and knew Adrien would feel at a loss no matter how the man treated him. The sudden realisation of freedom came at a cost and him being under stricted rules for so long it was no wonder why Adrien was acting the way he was.

He withdrew the hug and saw the sadden expression but no tears. "I've had better days." Chat mumbled.

"You sound out of it! Have you slept?" His friend asked and guided him back towards his couch.

"Hardly a wink." Chat replied softly and looked up at his best friend as he sat down.

Nino looked towards Alya with furrow eyebrows when he saw her still standing in a defence pose. "You can put the lamp down now! He's not a sentimonster nor akumatized." Nino reassured with a chuckle, focusing now on his friend as he sat beside him.

Alya placed the lamp down and walked to the kitchen, listening into their conversation while she grabbed beverages for everyone. As she opened the fridge door though she gagged at the mountain of Cheese that was sitting inside.

At least she found where that awful smell came from.

"How come you are back early?" He asked, drawing the attention away from him and his father's death.

"Well my best friend is going through a lot so I thought he could use a friend." Nino placed his hand on his shoulder. "Plus this one kept telling me she was sweating and everything stunk." He looked towards Alya and she gave him a deadpan look back.

"You try having your senses heighten and tell me if you can't complain." She sassed.

A little chuckle escaped Chat's lips, finally showing a small smile break through.

The reporter settled for water and brought it over to the boys. Making herself comfortable on the recliner in the corner as she sipped her own drink.

"Why didn't you message Marinette?" Alya asked, watching Chat intently. "You both sound like you need a friend right now and the way you two got cosy the other night..." She wiggled her eyebrows at him suggestively, her water up to her lips. "Surely you wouldn't reject the company?"

"Alya!" Nino hissed before realising what she said and looking back at his friend with wide eyes. "So there is something going on with you and Marinette?" Nino asked and Chat refused to make eye contact with anyone but his drink.

He hunched over, feet flat on the ground while running his claw around the edge of his cup, mumbling. "Not anymore."

It was almost hard to hear but they caught on what he said. "Shit dude!" Nino swore. "How long has this been going on for?"

Chat finally looked up at them, seeing the shocked faces of his friends. "Since... her birthday!" He cringed, knowing that was a very long time to keep this affair going without telling anyone.

"You two have been seeing each other this whole time and she never told me?" Alya piped, clearly angry her friend had kept her in the dark.

She didn't know if it was because Marinette was Ladybug and didn't want Alya to know she was seeing Chat Noir. Well not after the constant mention of them not being anything more until Hawkmoth was at least gone.

"So the wedding is called off?" Nino's voice brought her out of her thoughts.

"Wedding?" She asked but they ignored her.

When was she going to be informed that Chat Noir was engaged?

That would've made for some juicy news and finally a way to work for herself again, getting the Ladyblog up and running after that annoying dry spell from Hawkmoth.

Well at least people were able to expressed themselves more these day! Copping it everyday at work and especially on the streets as she went to visit her friend.

Sometimes Hawkmoth disappearing was a bad thing.

"No... Maybe?... I don't know!" He placed his drink on the coffee table and ran both his hands down his face and groaned.

Nino placed a hand on his shoulder again and said. "Bethany doesn't know about this?"

Chat laughed and shook his head. "You kidding? She would skin me alive!"

"Bethany?" Alya mumbled before it clicked in. "Are you fucking kidding me?" She yelled, making the boys jump out of their skins.

She stomped over to him, hearing the cat yelp when her arms trapped him into the couch. The angry look from being pissed off at her friend before only escalating.

"Call it off!" Alya yelled.

"Call I-I... w-what?" Chat stuttered.

"Don't play dumb with me Agreste, it's getting old." She snapped, pointing a warning at him. "Call off the transformation now!" She huffed. "Or I will skin you alive!"

Chat audibly swolled in fear, his eyes widening at the threat. "Okay, okay! Claws in."

The magic eloped him and Alya stood over him, eyes wide and mouth gaped open. It was one thing hearing facts that lead her to believe he was Adrien Agreste but seeing it was a whole other matter.

"Are... you... going to say something?" He peeped, looking to Nino for help but his friend moved further away from him, knowing what Alya was like when she wanted Information.

Pregnancy seem to make everything worse.

"Does she know?" Alya asked, Chat obviously not fool by the softness of her tone.

"Who?" He squeaked, almost afraid to ask the question. He really didn't know who out of the two girls she was possible applying to.

"Marinette you twit. Who else?" Plagg mumbled with his mouth full of Cheese from the fridge.

Alya glared up at the kwami, the smell seeping through her senses again. "I'll deal with you later!" She piped and glared back down at Adrien trapped between her arms, waiting for his answer.

"Uhh, no... Sh-she doesn't." Adrien answered.

"So you've been seeing her as Chat Noir all this time and she never knew you were in a relationship?" Alya growled.

Oh if her best friend knew about this she would most likely flip her shit! How many secrets could this boy keep from her?

"I've been seeing her as Adrien... not Chat Noir!" He pointed out fast, fear still present in his tone. When Alya deepened her gaze on him, he panicked. "Chat Noir kissing her was a one time thing I swear." He waved his hands out in front of him in defence.

"So you two have been running around; behind my back no less, sleeping with each other while you..." She pointed towards Nino and he immediately shrunk into himself. "You've known this whole time?" Her voice raised again and now Nino was the one who felt trapped.

Well the secrets just got more in depth.

"To be fair, I only knew about his identity!" He pointed out. "Yes I teased him about Marinette but he denied everything."

"You knew his identity!" She yelled, getting closer to her husband in a stance as her hands rested on her hips. "And you didn't tell me?"

"Well I..."

"But you know Ladybug's identity." Adrien added in, cutting off his friend from trying to explain. "Rena Rouge..." He said smugly.

Worst thing to do in front of a pregnant women.

"You what!?" Nino cried out.

"I can explain!" She turned to Nino with now her hands up in defence.

"For how long?" Nino asked.

"Since lycee!" Adrien added and Alya glared daggers at the blonde.

"Lycee!" Nino yelled. "That's been almost ten years!" He looked to Alya, feeling outcasted and hurt.

"It gets better." Adrien added and Alya pointed at him in warning. He didn't dare hold back on this! "She was Scarabella."

Nino gasped and Adrien relaxed back into the couch, completely satisfied with his come back. "How could you keep that from me for ten years? We told each other everything!"

"Me! You knew Adrien's identity! You knew how much that meant to me finding out who they were." Alya quipped.

"But you knew Ladybug..."

The conversation dragged on and maybe Adrien did feel a little guilty for making his friends fight but one thing was for certain! His emotions and train of thought about his father's death had gone out the window.

He might've made a big mess with all the secrets he had kept hidden and all the lies he's been through these past few months but for once he felt like a normal person.

Adrien finally fell out of place and no one was there to put him back to perfect.
