Darksideshipping (Valon/Yami Yugi)
. . .
"You look cold, mate."
Yugi blinked.
"I am not," he said—with his arms folded tightly against his chest and his hands under his armpits. "I just—wasn't prepared for the cold spike. It's been nice lately."
"Wrong time of year for nice weather," Valon said, shaking his head. "Ain't natural—Mother Nature will get back at you when you least expect it, so you should always carry a coat."
"I…suppose," Yami no Yugi said.
Valon still wasn't entirely sure how the two of them had managed to run into each other in the same train station, but he wasn't about to ask questions when this guy was involved. After all, summarizing their last encounters included a giant god snake, a glowy green circle that steals souls, and a ten thousand year old man from an underwater city. Valon still sometimes thought it must have been a dream somehow, cooked up by some alcoholic stupor.
It was always awkward, running into someone you had barely known and wondering if you were supposed to say hello or not. When the boy had walked up the stairs and caught gazes with Valon, for a moment, they had just stared at each other. The red-eyed boy had been the first to speak, asking "…Valon…?" in an uncertain voice, as though he couldn't quite remember his name. Valon didn't blame him—they had never really met face to face before. Valon had had all of his attention on Jonouchi at the time, and the pharaoh had had other things on his mind.
And really, what were you supposed to say to a guy that you had helped try to kill on more than one occasion? Wasn't like just running into a high school acquaintance.
The pharaoh shifted from foot to foot, probably just as awkward as Valon was, not to mention cold. He was only in his school uniform jacket. Valon felt really sorry for him, especially with the train still thirty minutes out according to his watch. Not sorry enough to give up his own coat or scarf though.
He glanced back behind them to the station hut. The pharaoh's fidgeting was starting to get a bit on his nerves.
"Oy," he said. "We've got some time, and this is getting awkward as shit. Want to go in for a coffee while we wait? Warm up a bit?"
The pharaoh blinked with some surprise. Then he smiled tentatively.
"That sounds like a good plan," he said.
. . .
A/N: Idk what to do with this one, they never really spoke to each other that I remember and I don't think their personalities mix well? Idk. Next is Darkshipping (Yami Bakura x Yami Yugi).
