When Kali awoke she was back in her own cage, her blood-soaked shirt now dried, and the numerous bullet wounds on her body half-healed. She tried to push herself upright, but as pain ripped through her body, the most she could manage was to lean against the metal bars. Her eyes followed a trail of blood leading from her feet across the forest floor from Sawyer's cage. They must have dragged her back when she was still…

Dead.

How many more chances was she going to get? If the island really was the thing that kept bringing her back, would there be a limit? Did it matter how she was killed? Or who the killer was?

"You with me, blue eyes?" Sawyer's voice called out to her, as her eyes flickered over to the blond.

"Ask me tomorrow" Kali grimaced, trying to move her wounded leg, glad to see she still had some movement.

"How long was I out for?" Kali frowned, rubbing her eyes.

"About twenty minutes. That's…that's longer than usual, isn't it?" Sawyer pointed out, as they shared a look.

"Maybe I've already used up my nine lives" Kali murmured, with a humourless laugh.

"Don't say shit like that" Sawyer retorted.

"…He said there's a cure. Ben. He said there's a way to stop this, so you can leave the island" Sawyer admitted, a few seconds later.

"I trust that asshole about as far as I can throw him" Kali stated.

"We might not have any other choice" Sawyer insisted, as Kali pursed her lips.

"Is he planning to give this magical cure out of the goodness of his cold, dead heart then?" Kali questioned.

"James. What did he say to you?" Kali frowned when she received no reply.

"I said I was gonna' get you off this island, Kali. I'm keeping that promise" Sawyer sighed.

"How touching" A familiar voice exclaimed, as the pair turned around to find Ben approaching the cages.

If looks could kill, Benjamin Linus would have dropped dead where he stood, seeming unbothered by the glares he was receiving from the couple. He came to stand in front of Kali's cage, sparing a glance at the blood that surrounded the structure.

"Seems like your plan didn't work so well" Ben pointed out, a smug tone to his voice.

"Yeah? Why don't you come in here and say that to my face, you prick" Kali muttered.

"…Alright" Ben nodded, immediately moving towards the cage door, his fingers making quick work of the lock.

Kali's brow furrowed as he let himself into the structure and realised just how defenceless she would be to him. She doubted she could stand, let alone fight off a grown man. Me and my damn mouth, Kali cursed herself.

"Does it hurt?" Ben asked, ushering to her wounds as he took a step closer.

"I got shot three times. What do you think?" Kali spat out, pushing herself further against the bars as Ben came to crouch down in front of her.

She flinched a little when he held his hand out, a bottle of water in his palm, making a gesture for her to take it. After a few moments, Kali reached out, but instead of taking the bottle, she raised her middle finger up to him, paired with a murderous glare.

"Very mature" Ben rolled his eyes, pushing himself to his feet.

"You know, I've had a lot of time to think recently. About why you brought us here. I already figured out you need Jack and I for something medical, but I just couldn't figure out what for. You must know dangerous it was bringing us here, knowing our people could retaliate, your people could rebel. What would make someone like you risk so much? And then it hit me…there's only one person you would do that for…yourself" Kali trailed off, watching Ben's eye twitch.

"Is that so?" Ben retorted.

"You're sick, aren't you? I saw those X-ray's; you've got a tumour. A big one at that" Kali goaded, as Ben kept his face blank.

"I don't know what you're talking about" Ben scoffed, turning his back.

"Does it hurt?" Kali called out, using his earlier words, as Ben turned to her with a frown.

"Watching the island bring me back over and over? Knowing that you're slowly dying?" Kali went on, watching Ben's jaw clench.

"Not anymore. A spinal surgeon and his irritating scrub nurse have just fallen into my lap" Ben pointed out.

"You think we're going to save you? Wow, you really are crazy, aren't you?" Kali laughed, harshly.

"I had a great plan, you know. To manipulate Jack, make him want to do the surgery. Hell, I wanted him to think it was his own idea. But you? You're too much like your brother. Too hateful—" Ben began, but was quickly cut off by Sawyer's shout.

"Watch yourself, Bug Eyes" Sawyer exclaimed, hitting his cage with his hand.

"If you're done, I'd really like to continue bleeding over the jungle floor in peace" Kali rolled her eyes.

"I'm going to make this very easy for you, Kali. If you continue to refuse to perform the surgery…I'm going to take my gun and shot James in the head. Is that clear?" Ben told, as Kali's lip turned up in disgust.

"No. You won't" Kali retorted.

"And why's that?" Ben huffed.

"Because he's a candidate, right? I might not know what the means, but I know you need him alive" Kali went on, watching as Ben's eye twitched once again.

"Do you really want to take that chance?" Ben challenged, with a glare.

"Ben. I'd like to talk to her" Juliet's voice called out, her approach having been unnoticed by the group.

"Be my guest. Although I doubt your good looks will be enough to persuade her like Jack" Ben replied, walking towards the cage door and gesturing for her to enter.

"Oh, I don't know…I kind of have a thing for blonde's" Kali exclaimed, giving Sawyer a grin.

"I brought you some clean clothes and bandages" Juliet exclaimed, as Ben stormed away.

"Wow, this almost makes up for you know…your people killing me multiple times" Kali muttered, taking what she offered, nonetheless.

"I'm sorry. Danny's a loose cannon, but I never thought he would…" Juliet trailed off, with a sigh.

"I brought something else. Morphine. I know it must hurt, and…well I wanted to do something to help" Juliet informed her, a few seconds later, taking a vial and syringe out of her back pocket.

"Don't take this the wrong way, but I don't exactly trust an Other with a sharp instrument in their hand" Kali pointed out, as Juliet came to kneel in front of her.

"I can help you, Kali. I think deep down you know that" Juliet insisted, holding her hand out, watching Kali flinch.

"…What's the worst that could happen, I guess. Hell, I've already died once today" Kali shrugged, allowing Juliet to take her arm.

Still, she watched with suspicion as Juliet tried to find a vein on her arm, tapping the inside of her elbow a few times. Kali was clearly dehydrated, making Juliet's job all the harder. When she found an appropriate vein, she began to slowly inject the needle in, her eyes flickering up to Kali's.

"You need to do the procedure" Juliet whispered, barely moving her lips.

"Why the hell should I do that?" Kali frowned, in a similarly hushed tone.

"Because some of us want change. We want Ben gone" Juliet mumbled, removing the needle, and placing a piece of gauze over the tiny wound.

It didn't take long for Kali to realise what Juliet was asking. She wanted Ben to die during the operation. It would be easy enough to do, it was a complex, and dangerous op, any number of things could go wrong. Kali knew she could make it look like an accident.

"And then? You take over?" Kali questioned, trying to decipher Juliet's motives.

"I want off this island. Same as you" Juliet replied, wiping away a little excess blood from the pinprick wound and pulling away.

"I'll bear it in mind" Kali exclaimed, as Juliet gave her a curt nod.

Kali was surprised to find her gut was telling her to trust the blonde. She had seen the desperation in Juliet's eyes and truly believed that she did want to leave the island. The question was, would she push Kali under the bus to do that?

Ben watched the screen in front of him intently, debating his options. He was running out of time. He leant back on his chair, his hands clasped tightly together on his lap and shut his eyes. His plan wasn't working as he had hoped. When he heard the metal door behind him creak open, he didn't bother opening his eyes, knowing who it would be.

"And what did you two talk about, Juliet? Strange I couldn't hear it over the monitor" Ben announced.

"Trouble in paradise, Ben?" A voice replied, that certainly wasn't Juliet.

Ben whipped around instantly, his hand reaching out for the gun he was sure he had left on the desk in front of him, only to find an empty space. A tall man, with dark hair, was staring down at him, leaning against the doorway as if he didn't have a care in the world. Ben noted the distinctive English accent the man had and started to piece the stranger's identity together. He vaguely remembered the man's face from Kali's file.

"Billy, I presume?" Ben frowned, watching a small smirk growing on the man's lips.

"Good guess" He replied, pushing off from the doorway and stalking closer to Ben.

"Last we heard you were missing in the red zone. We thought it had…well, I suppose we were wrong. How would you be able to get through our barriers otherwise?" Ben inquired, backing up a step.

"I'm not your enemy. I'm your ally. I want you to get your surgery, Benjamin" Billy told him, confusing the older man.

"And why would you care about my life?" Ben questioned.

"I don't. But I do care about what your future holds. Jack alone won't be enough to save your life. You'll die on the operating table without Kali" Billy explained, making Ben scoff.

"Yes, well I think we both know you're a little bias when it comes to that girl" Ben goaded, as Billy pursed his lips.

"Let's just say I've had a little change of heart. I want you to give her the cure and take her off this island" Billy exclaimed, making Ben's brow furrow.

"But there isn't—" Ben began, but Billy quickly cut him off with a raise of his hand.

"I know how she ticks. I get her to operate on you…and then you do what I ask" Billy insisted.

"And if I don't?" Ben inquired.

"Then I doubt you'll be walking for much longer" Billy said, quirking an eyebrow, the challenge clear in his tone.

Kali frowned when she saw Ben marching towards them less than an hour later, a determined look on his face. Kali tensed when she noticed the gun he was gripping tightly in his hand, and slowly pushed herself to her feet, despite how shaky her legs were. A sliver of fear ran down the back of her spine as her eyes connected with Ben's.

"I think you'll find my new argument very convincing, Kali…" Ben trailed off, before turning around to face Sawyer.

Kali flinched when a gunshot rang out a second later, as Sawyer stumbled backwards, a steady line of blood dripping down from his shoulder. Kali rushed forward to grip onto the bars of her cage, letting out a panicked shout.

"What the fuck are you doing?!" Kali screamed.

"If I die, he dies. It's as simple as that" Ben exclaimed, watching as Sawyer flopped to his knees, raising his gun towards the blond's head this time.

"Stop! I'll do it! I'll do it, okay? Whatever you want, just don't hurt him! Please!" Kali cried, banging on the bars with her hands.

"I thought you'd come to understand my way of thinking" Ben mumbled, before unlocking Sawyer's cage and grabbing the man by his injured shoulder, who let out a yell.

"Leave him alone!" Kali screeched, a desperate tone to her voice.

"I'm just making sure he gets good medical care. Wouldn't want him to bleed out while I'm in surgery would I?" Ben stated, as he pulled Sawyer to his feet and began dragging him towards Kali's cage.

"If she doesn't leave the island willingly, I'll take her out on my boat, past the boarder of the island…maybe I'll bring you too, James. You can watch as all those death's finally catch up with her" Ben hissed in his ear, before he ripped open Kali's cage door and threw the man inside, roughly.

"James!" Kali exclaimed, stumbling forward to kneel beside him, helping to sit him upright.

"I'll be back in twenty minutes to take you to Jack. I'm sure you'll find a way to convince him to get his scrubs back on" Ben smirked, before turning on his heel and walking away.

"I'm really starting to hate that guy" Sawyer muttered, as Kali gave him a sad smile, placing her hand against his bleeding wound, reaching around the back of his shoulder.

"We're lucky. The bullet went straight through, if I can stop the bleeding, you'll be okay" Kali told him.

"Déjà vu, huh?" Sawyer mumbled, looking down at the bullet scar on his other shoulder.

"I never realised you wanted your scars this symmetrical, dimples" Kali laughed, despite the tears welling in her eyes.

Trying to think of something to stem the bleeding, Kali was quick to whip her shirt off, leaving her in just her bra, and went to press the fabric against the bleeding. Sawyer gave her a little smirk at the action, making the younger girl roll her eyes.

"Don't say it" Kali exclaimed.

"I should get shot more often" Sawyer grinned at her, starting to sound a little delirious.

"And there it is" Kali shook her head, as she began tearing the shirt apart, creating a long strip of fabric that she could tie around his shoulder.

Sawyer felt his heart lurch seeing her sad smile, wanting nothing more than to embrace her. But he couldn't. If she had even the smallest chance of freedom, he had to make sure she took it, no matter the cost.

"…You need to do the surgery on him" Sawyer stated.

"Yeah, obviously" Kali scoffed, gesturing to his wound as she tied the top a little tighter.

"No, I mean…he'll give you the cure, Kali. You can leave" Sawyer insisted, as Kali shook her head.

"And what about you? And everyone else?" Kali insisted, as Sawyer reached out to grab her hands, halting her movements.

"For once just…think about your damn self, blue eyes" Sawyer all but begged.

"We're a team. If we stick together—" Kali began, but he cut her off.

"Then we both die" Sawyer retorted, as Kali pursed her lips.

"I want you to listen very carefully to me, James. I'm not leaving you. Ever" Kali insisted, as their eyes connected, Sawyer's tinged with sadness.

"What I said earlier, when Pickett was shooting you…I just said it to make him stop" Sawyer exclaimed, as Kali's brow furrowed.

"Don't do this" Kali shook her head, looking away from him.

"I've never loved a damn thing, Kali. I don't think I'm even capable of it" Sawyer admitted, as Kali reached out to touch his face, her palms against his cheeks.

"No. This is what you always do, you get scared of getting close to someone and you push them away. But you don't need to do that with me" Kali insisted, as Sawyer moved his hands to wrap around her wrists.

"What's gonna happen if we do leave the island, huh? You think I'm just gonna' settle down? I'm a con-man. It's all I know. We won't work" Sawyer went on.

"What the hell did Ben say to you?" Kali frowned.

"This has nothing to do with him" Sawyer retorted, making Kali scoff.

"Really? Cause' one moment you're telling me you love me and the next we're what, we're over?" Kali pushed, trying to hide the way her voice was shaking.

"We've never even begun, Kali! I don't do this. I'm selfish, and cold…and fucking broken. I can't change. I don't want to…and I sure as hell don't want to change you" Sawyer mumbled.

"I don't care! I don't care about that; I don't even care about leaving this island…I just want to be with you. That's all I want" Kali confessed; her voice thick with emotion.

"…I don't love you" Sawyer exclaimed, watching as her mouth went slack.

"I don't believe you—" Kali began, but he cut her off.

"It was a con. All of it. I just didn't want to be alone…when we're off this island, I was always gonna' leave you" Sawyer told her, pulling her hands away from his face.

"Your wrong you know. You're not selfish…you're a fucking coward, Sawyer" Kali muttered, brushing away a tear that had rolled down her cheek.

The pair had been too wrapped up in their emotional outburst to hear footsteps approaching, their heads snapping up as the cage door was opened. Two guards quickly pulled Sawyer to his feet, as Juliet came into a view, a sad expression on her face.

"I'll fix him up" The blonde exclaimed, as Kali gave a quick nod, her jaw tense, not looking at Sawyer.

"Just do the surgery and go, Kali. There's…there's nothing left for you here" Sawyer mumbled, before stumbling out of the cage, ignoring Kali's shaky exhale.

"Why did you say that to her?" Juliet frowned, as she followed behind them, passing a quick glance at Kali who was still on her knees, eyes averted to the ground.

"…Because I love her" Sawyer muttered, his eyes fluttering shut as the guards had to all but drag him into the building.

The smile that had grown on Jack's face when Kali was brought into his 'room' faded almost immediately, his eyes drawn to the blood-soaked shirt she was wearing and tear tracks on her cheeks. The metal door was quickly slammed shut after her, as Kali came to stumbling forward to meet him in the middle of the room.

"Jesus, what did they do to you?" Jack gaped, his hands reaching out to touch the dried blood.

After Sawyer had been taken away, she had put on her old shirt, and waited for Ben to collect her. She wanted nothing more than to wipe the smug smile off his face but decided she had to bide her time. Ben would get what was coming to him. She'd make sure of that.

"It's fine. I'm fine" Kali shook her head, her lips drawn in a fine line.

"No, you're not. You've been crying. What did they do?" Jack insisted.

"Nothing" Kali replied.

"Then why have you been crying—" Jack began, but she cut him off quickly.

"Sawyer and me…it's over. He…he made his feelings pretty damn clear" Kali admitted, hopping over to the table in the room, using it to lean against.

"Hey, you two will make up. You always do" Jack pointed out, coming to stand beside her.

"He doesn't want me, Jack" Kali mumbled, looking to the ground.

"It'll be okay" Jack insisted, placing his hand on her shoulder.

"They're gonna' kill him. If we don't do the surgery. That's why they brought me here, to convince you" Kali explained, as Jack's hand slowly dropped away.

"You got the same deal? We save Ben and he lets us go? Get's us off the island?" Jack asked, as Kali nodded.

"You know we can't trust him, right?" Jack stated.

"He shot Sawyer. Right in front of me. He didn't even think twice about it. And I have lost too many people in my life, Jack. I'm not losing him too" Kali went on, as Jack's brow furrowed.

"I thought you said it was over between you two" Jack pointed out, as Kali gave him a look.

"So, what? I should hate him? I shouldn't care if he lives or dies? I don't care if Sawyer doesn't have my back anymore…cause' I still have his. Always will" Kali explained, as Jack nodded slowly.

"Whatever happens tomorrow, I'm going to do everything I can to keep you safe, okay? Like you said…no one else is going to die" Jack told her, as she gave him a small smile.

He then pulled her into his arms, feeling her let out a stuttering breath as she buried her face in his chest and allowed herself to cry again. Jack rested his chin on top of her head, as he stroked her back with his hand, hoping he'd be able to keep his promise.

The pair sprung out of each other's arms when the metal door was ripped open only a few seconds later, as Ben entered the room, his shoulders tense. Just as Kali was about to open her mouth to ask him what he wanted, another man stepped into the room, making her heart stop for a second.

"Billy?" Kali gaped; her eyes connected with his familiar brown ones.

"Hello Kali" Billy greeted, taking a few steps forward, seeing how she cowered away, with a suspicious look.

"How…what are you doing here? With him?" Kali frowned, as Billy slowly tilted his head.

"We have similar goals. So do you and I" Billy replied, as Kali rubbed at her eyes, brushing away any tears that remained.

"I don't think so" Kali scoffed, crossing her arms.

"I just wanted to make sure you had come to your senses. That you plan to go through with the procedure tomorrow" Billy went, as Kali's frown deepened.

"Aren't you gonna' ask?" Kali questioned.

"Ask what?" Billy inquired, in an almost bored tone.

"Where Ken is. I've seen him. He disappeared…I thought you might have had something to do with it actually" Kali pointed out, as Billy pursed his lips.

"What do you mean…disappeared?" Billy pushed.

"When the sky almost blew up" Kali admitted, as Billy began to pace, his brow furrowed in concentration.

"Interesting" He mumbled underneath his breath.

"That's it? That's all you have to say?" Kali asked, her suspicions growing.

"I'm sure he'll turn up soon enough" Billy shrugged, tensely.

"…You're not Billy. If he heard that Ken was missing, he'd be losing his mind, not shrugging it off" Kali exclaimed, backing up another step, pushing Jack behind her.

"You're infected" Ben mumbled, the rare fear clear in his voice.

A second later, Billy was twisting around, just as Ben pulled a taser from his back pocket. Billy didn't have enough time to move away as Ben raised the weapon, the taser probes flying through the air towards the man. Kali's eyes widened as Billy suddenly caught them in his hand, tilting his head a little before yanking the weapon from Ben's hands, seeming completely immune to the powerful electric current. Ben audibly gulped as the taser clattered to the ground, looking down at Billy's hands which were completely unburnt.

"That's not possible" Ben exclaimed.

"Don't you know, Ben? On this island…anything's possible" Billy smirked, walking forward to loom over the older man.

He seemed satisfied when he saw how Ben flinched, fear clear in his wide eyes. Billy then began to walk towards the exit, coming to stop in the doorframe, turning back to stare directly at Kali.

"I'll see you in 2007" Billy grinned, before stepping through the door.

Kali felt a shiver go down her spine at his words, not understanding what he meant. Before anyone could stop her, she was hobbling forward, trying to chase after the man. She let out a gasp when she entered the corridor to see Billy was nowhere to be seen. He had disappeared. Just like her brother.

Kali stared off into the distance as she continued washing her hands thoroughly, feeling herself beginning to sweat already beneath her scrubs. She couldn't stop thinking about what Billy said…was it just some sort of hallucination? But they had all seen it. And what did Ben mean, what could have infected Billy? With a shake of her head, Kali tried to remember what she was there to do. She turned to Juliet when she heard the blonde speaking.

"How many surgeries have you assisted in?" Juliet inquired, as Kali mulled over it.

"Maybe a hundred? I've only scrubbed in a few times. I always preferred being the runner" Kali admitted.

"No running today, right?" Juliet asked, as the women shared a look.

"I'll do what needs to be done, Juliet. Will you?" Kali queried, as the older woman gave a quick nod.

The doors were then opened for them, as they entered the operating theatre, finding Jack was already prepping Ben who was lying face down on the table. Kali grimaced as she found herself getting flashbacks to her own 'surgery'. She suddenly had an intense need to grab a scalpel.

"Whatever happens, everything will be very different, won't it?" Ben announced, not having seen Kali approaching.

"Don't worry, Ben. Jack and I are gonna' take real good care of you" Kali exclaimed, unable to keep the sarcasm out of her voice.

"Juliet, did Alex ask about me?" Ben questioned.

"No" Juliet shook her head, not looking at him in the eyes.

"Is something wrong?" Ben pushed, noticing this.

"We can't seem to find her right now. You know what Alex is like, sixteen-year-olds are always sneaking off" Juliet said, in a reassuring voice.

"Wait? You're Alex's dad?" Kali realised, a little taken aback.

"You've met my daughter?" Ben frowned, not sure when she would have.

"I sure have. Doubt your gonna' get any father of the year awards any time soon" Kali said, giving him a fake smile.

"…I'm ready, Jack" Ben announced, turning his attention to the Doctor, who had been busy preparing the anaesthetic.

"Start counting down from twenty" Jack advised, after injecting the anaesthetic into Ben's line.

"Twenty. Nineteen…eight…teen…" Ben trailed off, passing out quickly.

"Let's get to work" Jack announced, as Kali came to stand on the opposite side of the table, as he opened Ben's back up.

The surgery had been going well, with Jack being able to safely get to Ben's tumour without causing too much damage, now having a clear view. Kali helped to hold open the skin of his back, using a retractor, her hands steady. Her eyes flickered up to the viewing theatre, which was how she noticed Danny and one of his buddies vanish thirty minutes into the surgery. Juliet seemed to also notice this as the two women shared a look.

"We need some suction" Kali advised, as Juliet nodded before turning around.

"You trust me, right, Jack?" Kali inquired, making the older man frown.

"Nothing good ever follows when you say that you know" Jack sighed, as Kali smiled under her mask.

In a split second, she had reached out to grab a scalpel from the aseptic tray and had nicked an artery not far from Ben's kidney. Blood immediately spurted into the air, as Jacks eyes went wide, grabbing a nearby swab to try to stem the bleeding.

"What happened? Should he be bleeding like that?" The anaesthetic questioned, rushing forward.

"Take a wild guess" Kali retorted, before elbowing him in the face, sending the man stumbling to the floor.

"Dammit it, Kali. You couldn't have chosen a better artery?" Jack complained, trying to control the bleeding.

"Well, it's working isn't it?" Kali complained as Jack let out a long sigh.

"Get down here and bring your walkie talkie. We're gonna' cut a deal" Kali called out to Tom, who had been standing in the viewing area, his mouth gone slack.

It was raining when Pickett arrived at the cages, having already drenched Sawyer's clothes, causing the bullet wound in his shoulder to sting. Juliet had stitched the wound and given him a dose of IV antibiotics, murmuring something about how Ben would get what was coming to him before returning him to his makeshift prison. Sawyer wasn't surprised when Pickett and his friend ripped open his cage door, appearing to accept his fate. He didn't say a word when Pickett grabbed him by his injured shoulder and hauled him out of the cage, before throwing him to the forest floor, as Sawyer had to swallow a cry of pain. He forced himself onto his knees, as Pickett came to stand in front of him, his gun raised directly at Sawyer's head.

"What's wrong, huh? You got no fight left in you?" Pickett goaded, having expected a fight.

"Got nothing left to fight for" Sawyer replied.

Maybe it was best this way, he thought to himself. Kali really would have nothing left to stay for now. She could go home. He tried to focus on that as he heard the safety taken off the gun and levelled his eyes with Pickett's. Sawyer always knew he'd die alone. Some people just couldn't be saved.

"This is for Colleen you son of a bitch" Pickett cried, as Sawyer shut his eyes, waiting for the bullet.

A loud cry had Sawyer's eyes snapping open a moment later, his head twisting around just as the shout was cut off. His eyes went wide as Pickett's ally suddenly flopped to his knees; his neck bent at an awkward angle. Sawyer couldn't stop his jaw from dropping open as he saw who was standing behind the man, a smirk on the newcomer's face. Pickett immediately raised his gun towards the man, just as a knife went flying through the air, hitting Pickett's hand. The older man let out a cry, the gun dropping to the floor as he clutched at his wounded hand, trying to pull the knife out. Sawyer's saviour stalked forward, unseen by Pickett who was moaning in pain as he slowly edged the knife out of his skin.

"I'll be taking that" The newcomer grinned, lunging forward to wrench the knife from Pickett's hand, as blood spurted from the large wound.

"You motherfuck—" Pickett's curse was cut off as the newcomer kneed him in the crotch, before shoving him to the floor.

"Well, now you've just gone and hurt my feelings. Bad idea, mate" The man muttered, before kicking Pickett in the face, knocking him out cold and most likely re-breaking his nose.

Running a hand through his soaking wet hair, the newcomer turned to Sawyer with a smirk, before leaning down to grab the walkie talkie attached to Pickett's belt.

"Did you miss me?" Ken grinned, earning an eye roll from Sawyer in response.
