The story is back. It's still going, I just didn't upload chapters here, but I have on dA.

Shadow sat up straighter. "What would I want or need to know about that idiot? I already know he's gay if that's what you came to tell me."

Rouge walked closer to him. "There's no need to get snappy with me Honey..." She got closer and whispered. "I for one know that you've had some homosexual tendencies in the past…"

Shadow snarled. "Get the fuck out of here."

"Don't you want to know about this super important information?"

"I have no desire to listen to anything that comes out of your mouth right now."

The female vampire laughed. "Well, you're missing out. I guess you'll have to find out the hard way. Our friendship is a special, but strange one, no? Je t'aime, Shadow."

The black and red hedgehog slightly smiled. "Je t'aime aussi."

Rouge smiled and flew away, her silhouette dancing in the light of the moon.

Shadow mumbled something in French to himself and continued smoking and looking out into the night sky.

"Kyle! Kyle! What the flip are you doing?! Where are you?" Kristina said into her cell phone while floating back and forth in the hallway.

"Calm down, I found this weird old book in the attic. It's really creepy looking."

"Please put it back! That's Mama and Daddy's stuff you're digging through!" Kris cried.

"No."

"What do you mean 'No'? You're at home, aren't you? Just put it back wherever you found it!"

"I mean that 'no I can't because I brought it with me and I'm walking towards you at this very moment.'"

Kris looked behind her and sure enough, her brother was walking towards her holding up a dusty old book. She turned around and ended the call. "Ky! What are you thinking?!"

The yellow hedgehog walked up to her. "I'm thinking that I found a cool book and I'm going to look at it."

The hedgehog ghost started to scream like a banshee.

Ky covered his ears. "Kris! Do you really think Mom and Dad would keep something in the house that would be dangerous to their children?"

She grabbed for the book, but her hands went through it.

Ky smirked. He started to levitate the book beside him. "You can't stop me."

Kris' pure white eyes shifted back and forth from her brother to the book. She bared her fangs. "UghhhHHAH!"

A sadistic gleeful smile spread across Ky's face. "Don't worry, I promise I won't do anything too damaging with it. I'm just going to read it and look at the pictures."

"Don't lose it! And make sure you bring it home!" She yelled at him.

"I know, I know, you aren't mother." Ky snatched the book out of the air and started to levitate. "Well, are you coming?"

"Where?" the ghost asked.

"I'm going to the attic to read this, and I am being polite and asking if you're coming with me."

"Why the attic?"

"Because nobody will be there, and I kinda, sorta made a little hideout for myself."

Kris looked at the book in his hands. It did look kind of cool, part of her really wanted to see what it's pages held. Secrets that their mother and father had withheld? Curiosity and something else pulled her in. She turned her head to the side and thought these thoughts over.

She sighed. "…Okay, I'll go."

Ky put his hands together and whispered. "Brilliant." He teleported them both to the attic.

The attic was an average size, somewhere near the belltower. It contained unused items such as old theatre sets and props. There were boxes scattered throughout it, and even contained three coffins in which Ky had moved up against stacks of boxes and added a few pillows and cushions to make couches. There was a red bean bag in the middle of the floor and a microwave on a small table that was powered by Ky's dark magic.

Kris looked around, impressed a bit at her brother's creativity.

"Welcome to my escape from everything." He pulled the chain on the lightbulb that hung from above and it brightened up the space just a bit, even though it flickered every once in a while. "So!" He plopped down in the bean bag. "Let's see what's inside here."

Kris floated over beside him and went into a sitting position. Her brother opened the book and coughed.

"Dust…" He mumbled and flipped to a random page.

The pages showed descriptions of creatures from the underworld, what they could do, and how to summon them. Necromancy was a popular topic as there was a whole section on controlling the dead, zombies and ghouls.

Kris pointed at the ghoul section. "What is a "ghoul"? I've never heard of that before.

Ky looked at her in disbelief that she had no idea what it was.

"You really don't know what a ghoul is? Your dad is a vampire lord."

"He's never tells me anything."

Ky sighed. "A ghoul is what happens when a non-virgin of the same sex is drained of blood by a vampire." He explained. "They then become the vampire's sla- I mean servants. And the vampire can control them."

"Oh."

"He probably doesn't tell you these things because you aren't a vampire, you're a ghost." He flipped through some more pages. "I don't even remember how you died; you weren't supposed to."

Kris shook her head. "I don't remember either, but I remember at a point, I was, uh, alive, I guess."

"You were; about as alive as anyone like us can get without being transparent."

The ghost wolf suddenly had a realization moment, as if an exclamation point had appeared over her head. Her brother saw her facial expression.

"What is it?" He asked.

"Hey! Since that book has rituals on how to control the dead, do you think it has rituals on how to, bring ghosts back?" She asked while getting excited.

"What?" Ky asked. One of his ears went down as he looked at her with a confused look on his face.

Kris tried to hold in her sudden burst of energy. "Uh, I mean like…" She started moving her hands around to help her find her words. W-W-what if," She stuttered. "What if the book has some- some ritual thing to put my spirit, back into my body!"

The yellow vampire hedgehog put his hand to his chin. "Hmmm…I don't know. I have heard stories of something like that being done before, but, it's kind of an advanced topic."

Kris sat there with her arms pushed together, looking at him with beams of hope shooting from her dark turquoise eyes, she let out a little whimper.

Ky glanced at her while looking at the book. He turned the page and scanned its contents. "Do you want to be solid again?" He asked.

"YES!"

"Okay! I'm right here you don't have to yell, I'm not deaf…"

"Sorry."

Ky flipped through the pages some more, studying and trying to see if there was some sort of ritual that could bring Kris back from the dead. He had to be careful as the pages were frail from their age, and the old book smell lingered. "Resurrection spells…resurrections spells…Doo, doo dootley doo…hmm, Ahhh."

"Are you finding anything or are you just going to sit there and make sounds?" The ghost asked irritably wile glaring at him.

"They're my thinking sounds."

"Hurry up!"

Ky pulled the book away. "Cool it, Ms. Impatient! I have no idea what's even in this book, one wrong ritual or spell and it could mean disaster! I would tell you to go find it yourself but you can't even hold it. Just please, be patient and quiet so I can focus and think."

"Okay, fine." She grumbled and floated to the corner of the attic.

"I never said to go to the corner."

"I'm putting myself in Time Out."

Ky rolled his eyes. "Okay." He continued looking through the faded texts of the evil book.

After a while Kris looked up at the flickering lightbulb. "Do you think people are looking for me?" She looked back at her brother who was half asleep with the book in his lap.

"…Why?

"Because I just randomly disappeared and I missed class."

Ky yawned. "AAAWWWNNN…Tell 'em you weren't feeling well so you went home."

"Did you find anything?"

Ky wiped the drool off of his face and picked up the book from his lap. "Well, before I almost fell asleep, I DID find a ritual that does something like what you want to happen."

Kris rushed over to him. "Really? Oh my God!"

He continued. "But it only works under the full moon."

"We'll the full moon is next week isn't it?"

"Yeah…But…"

"You'll be fine! Hey, maybe Blaze will know more about this, you know, since she can read this kinda stuff better than we can."

Ky sighed. "Okay, I'll show her, but I'm not promising that we can do this."

Kris smiled. "We can at least try."

Kris and her brother hung out in the attic for a few more hours until the end of school bell rang. They then quickly tried to leave without any adults seeing them. Luckily Kris could turn people invisible when she turned herself invisible, so they both got out of there without anyone noticing.

"Okay, so we've got our plan." Kris said as she watched her brother make himself a cup of hot chocolate.

"Yes, I'll get Blaze to look at this."

They had gotten home, hopefully the school wouldn't call about them being absent, but their parents wouldn't know about it for a while.

Kris looked over at Ky. "Do you need any help?"

Ky shook his head. "I can do it, besides there's a high chance you'll break something."

"Oh…"

"Don't be sad, you'll be solid soon, and then you'll be able to help."

"Right…"
