Crushshipping (Honda Hiroto/Kawai Shizuka/Otogi Ryuji)

. . .

Honda watched Shizuka's hair flouncing as she scurried off between the aisles of booths to the bathroom, and then glanced at Otogi on the other side of the table, who was busy pointedly slurping his smoothie without looking up.

"Do you think we maybe went too far?" he asked.

Otogi's only response was a helpless shrug.

It really was a strange predicament they had found themselves in, mostly due to Honda's stupid big mouth that didn't know when to shut up when it should. He felt as though everyone was staring at them, even though no one was—but he still felt out of place in the middle of this cutesy smoothie and sweets shop.

It had started with a bad dare from Jonouchi, who had no idea what he was asking Honda to do that night during the sleepover. Ask out your crush for the weekend. Even if that crush happened to be Jonouchi's little sister? God, he was oblivious sometimes. Otogi had known better and argued the point—well, Honda wasn't ready to back down from a challenge, especially coming from Jonouchi, so the next day he had immediately marched over to Shizuka—with Otogi on his heels.

Maybe it had been because they had talked over each other a little too much and confused her, or maybe it was because they were a little too blunt and had overwhelmed her—Honda distinctly remembered saying something along the lines of "at least go on one date with me before you go out with the dice dork" and Otogi saying something along the lines of "just choose one of us and we'll leave it at that" which, in hindsight, was a lot of pressure to put on someone.

Either way, Shizuka had smiled with a more than a little confusion in her eyes and said "okay, let's all go out somewhere then."

Honda still wasn't sure if this was a 'date' or a friend thing in Shizuka's eyes. Hell, Honda wasn't sure what he was considering it as yet.

"Sorry about that, I'm back! Are you guys ready to get something?"

Shizuka bounced back into her seat and pulled the menu back towards her.

"They have really great strawberry shortcake if you want something that's not too sweet. Oooh, I haven't had this new triple chocolate parfait before, I think I'm going to get that."

God, she really is cute… Honda thought, trying not to stare too much at her cute, round face and the way that her hair was half braided in the back today.

He caught Otogi glancing at him, and the pair of them held each other's gaze for a moment—Honda knew, just then, that Otogi was probably thinking the exact same thing. She was just too cute.

"Thanks for coming here with me you guys!" Shizuka said with a bright laugh, reaching across the table to put her hands on top of both of theirs. "Katsuya will never come with me. I'm glad I can spend some time here with both of you!"

"O-of course, Shizuka-chan," Honda said.

"Thanks for inviting us," Otogi said with his usual suave smile, actually taking the hand on top of his up to his lips to kiss it and making Shizuka laugh. Goddammit, but he was good at that. Honda was a little jealous.

But they caught each other's gaze again, with matching faint blushes as Shizuka took her hands back and went back to the menu, and knew that they were probably thinking the same thing again.

Well, it's okay to share this with you, I guess.
