Ky's face appeared within the crystal ball in Blaze's room. "Blaze? Are you there?"

As soon as the witch cat walked in her room, she went over to it. She shined it with her sleeve so that she could see his face more clearly. "Ky? I didn't know you had a crystal ball!"

"Ky's head rolled around so that he could see her. "Yeah, it's kinda like an emergency phone, that's also a lot more secret and private. Anyway, I have something important to ask you."

"Yes?" Blaze sat down at her desk where her crystal ball was. "You look worried. What is it?"

"Well…" The vampire hedgehog blinked and looked off to the side. "I found this book in my attic and I want to know if you can read it better than I can."

"What kind of book is it?" She asked. "You know I am knowledgeable in reading and understanding spells and such, and potion recipes."

Ky nodded. "I do know, that's why I'm coming to you for help. What it is, is…It's a ritual."

The cat's ears perked. "What kind of book did you find?"

"I don't know, it looks evil, and I thought it was cool looking! Can you help me or not?"

"You sound desperate…" The cat replied. "…I'll help, a friend."

"Oh thank you Blaze! I'll be sure to pay you back somehow! Can you come over in like, the next twenty minutes or so?"

"Yes, but I'll just have to tell my parents where I'm going, then I'll be over there."

Ky nodded. "Thanks! See you soon!"

Ky's face faded away on the crystal ball as Blaze grabbed her bag. She went out of her room and down the hall. She popped into the living room of her castle.

"Mom, I'm going over to Kris and Ky's house, it's for homework." She said.

Flame nodded. "Okay, but just be back before sunrise."

"I will, thank you." Blaze ran out the door and summoned a portal to Sonic's Dimension. She pulled her compact broomstick out of her bag and it immediately grew to its full size. She hopped on it and flew into the portal, traveling across their two dimensions. The plains between the two looked like the solar system with twinkling stars. When she entered the Sonic Dimension, she flew down to the ground and got off of it and put it away. She then walked as fast as she could to Kris and Ky's house.

Ky was sitting at the desk in the study room with a reading lamp on, looking at the evil book. His hyper sensitive hearing picked up the sound of Blaze's heeled shoes clacking on the sidewalk. He pushed himself in the rolling chair away from the desk and got up to answer the door. The cat didn't even have to knock, Ky opened the door.

"Hello Blaze." He greeted. I'm glad that you could come over and help us." He smiled and let Blaze into the house. She took off her coat and put it on the coat rack.

"No problem. I'm always happy to help someone I consider a friend." She replied.

"Thank you." Ky led her to the study room where he was examining the book some more. "I bookmarked the page where there is a ritual that I want you to look at." He pulled the chair closer to the desk so that she could sit down and read. Blaze sat down and looked at where he had bookmarked the page. "Hmmm…"

"Well?"

"Where did you say you found this again?"

"In the attic, I was going through some antique stuff because I was bored, and I found it."

"Well," Blaze started. "I don't think I've ever seen this before. This looks like this is a Book of the Dead."

"Yeah, I knew that, I'm pretty sure there's a pentagram somewhere on it."

"And what you've got here is a resurrection ritual."

"Yeah, what I want to do is to put Kris back into her body."

"So you want me to do this ritual so that Kris can be in her body again?"

"Yes, she said that's what she wants to do." He replied.

Blaze looked at the book again and turned the page. "Do your parents know about this? This could be very dangerous. I'm not an adult yet, and my magic hasn't fully stabilized yet."

Ky scratched the back of his head and shifted in his stance. "They don't know, they've been on a business trip and I haven't called them since a few days ago. And I know they wouldn't be happy with me going through their stuff…"

The study started to drop in temperature and a ghostly moan could be heard coming from nowhere. The edges of the desk and the books on the shelf started to freeze. A gust of wind blew through the room, making it feel even colder than it actually was. Blaze wrapped her cape around herself to shield herself from the cold.

"Kris, stop it, you know that you can appear without dropping the temperature. You are going to ruin the books and the desk!" Ky shouted, visibly annoyed as he tried to save their parents' old books.

Kris the snow leopard ghost appeared with an innocent smile on her face with her hands behind her back. "Hi Blaze, I've been listening in on your conversation up until now." She floated over to the purple cat an attempted to hug her. Even though she couldn't feel the ghost's embrace, Blaze returned the hug the best she could without totally going through her.

"You already know what's going on, don't you then?" Blaze asked after the hug was finished.

Kris nodded. "I do know, Ky showed me the book, and I asked if there was a spell or something."

"There is, but…"

"I know, the risks, but I don't take risks that often and if I'm going to take one big one, I would want it to be this. I would have nothing to lose."

"And what our parents don't know won't hurt them." Ky added.

Blaze sighed. "Okay, the full moon isn't for a few days. Is it okay if I borrow this to study it some more so that I really know what I'm doing?"

Ky shrugged and handed her the book. "Just don't summon any demons, okay?"

"I'll be careful."

The cat poofed herself outside and got on her broom. "See you later." She flew off on the broom while the two waved.

"Now we have to find your body. And I have no idea where we put it." Ky closed the front door.
