The horrible boar-like Gannon fell to Link the hero. Deep in the bowels of the dark pyramid, the legendary Tri-Force rested. The sacred realm was losing its twisted appearance by the second. The hero grasped the goddesses' blessing and wished for peace to return to Hyrule. The artifact read what was written on his heart restoring his uncle to health as well as the other beings harmed by the wizard incarnation of Gannon.
However, the blessed power saw something more hidden beneath his surface thoughts. More lives had been lost in the imprisoning war. He wondered in what way the world would be better if the Hero of Time had defeated Gannon before that war had even begun. That is where his new journey started. As this Link was transported across time and space to that place he wished to see. Yet light must always be countered by shadow for that is the balance in things.
Bright light flooded his vision and then he was gone from the world he knew. Time had not been kind to his home the once-massive kingdom had shrunk in the ages post-Gannon's realization of his wish. The mighty Zora tribe had changed and become little more than monsters. While the Gorons of death mountain had disappeared from the surface world. The only true tribe left to mourn had been the Hylian's who could supposedly hear the voices of the gods. Link had never really believed it until the rainy night he heard Zelda's call for aid in his mind. The journey that followed was grueling but necessary. As he reflected for a few moments the light deposited him in a dungeon of some kind.
He felt strange as he looked around the dark chamber. That was when he realized he had none of his possessions but the clothes on his back. His skin had been covered in pink fur. Not to mention his hearing had grown significantly as his floppy ears touched his face briefly. He knew this feeling well from first entering the Dark World at the beginning of his quest. He was in the form that reflected his heart. That was when he heard a growl from a nearby cell much like his. The glowing eyes seemed to brighten as they rested on him. He was prepared for the worst yet that is not what he got. Those predatory eyes somehow calmed him he felt a kinship unlike any other as the wolf moved to the edge of its bars.
'Where was he, what happened to Epona?' The goat heard was frightened at the confusion he felt. Last he could remember a strange darkness covered the pool near Orden village. Now he was waking up surrounded by stone walls. He heard shuffling nearby, it smelled like a rabbit? What on earth would bring such a creature here of all places. This Link was curious and had to see for himself.
He felt the weight of metal chains weighing him down. Despite that he walked to the limit of his leash. When his eye met those of a pink bunny a little shorter than him as a human. Wait, he just realized he was on four legs covered in dark fur. When he tried to speak a low wimper came from his long muzzle. His voice was gone in the form he found himself in. Yet the eyes of his fellow prisoner seemed focused and familiar. Somehow it aided him in regaining his composure.
"I see so you can't speak in you shape. Don't worry no matter how bad things get. Experience has taught me that darkness itself is not evil. Those who exploit it for sinister use will fall." Then his ears perked up as a strange looking female appeared between their cells.
"Huh, you two seem to be in a spot of trouble. Care to come with me as my servants?" She took in the two prisoners where she had expected only one. Legend told that when corruption came to the Twilight Relm a savior would appear as beast instead of spirit. Now she was faced with the dilemma of two such beings. First she pointed at the wolf and smiled mischievously. "You shall be my mount until such time as that role is no longer necessary." Next she indicated the pink bunny wearing red clothing that clearly had metal underneath the fabric. "Hmm, I think you would make a fine jester. However, by you ingenious armor and the way you carry yourself. You shall be my knight instead. I think a gerudo scimitar and shield would serve you well. They are suitable for one with strength problems." Then she grinned wider and laughed. "Though if you want them you'll have to relieve the jail guards of them. I'm clearly here only to supervise. Well what do you two say?"
The wolf responded first with a nod of its head. Though it followed that with a menacing growl indicating no tricks. He looked to his brief prison companion for silent consent.
"Well, the deal doesn't seem too great. Unfortunately, I have little choice for the moment. Fine, but I want to be able to renegotiate at a future time. Is that acceptable miss?" He may look silly and harmless to some, but she at least could see there was more to him. He was a veteran adventurer like no other.
The imp looked please and did a little dance of joy at their agreement. "So you can talk aye pinky at least that's something. Agreed bunny boy I'll just start with my steed. These anti-magic cells can be a pain." She opened wolf Links first mounting up as the chains fell away thru some minor magic she possesed. Something unexpected happened when she freed her 'knight' however. The smell of burnt fur touched the trio's noses at the same time when the door opened. A black round symbol with a bolt of lightning appeared on his left shoulder. It was unlike anything she had seen before. "Hey pinky what's the deal with the tattoo?"
Bunny Link was as surprised as the other two. "Huh, seems I still have ancient Hylian magic to call on. Those guards are in for a shocking surprise." He wondered if the other two medallions would appear eventually as well. "Wherever we are, must have very strong magical potential. How about we get this game started?"
"You have terrible humor bunny boy. However, I guess you've got to start somewhere. Let's go show off my two new servants." She pointed at the massive wooden door ahead as if she expected them to open by thought alone.
The rabbit found he could run faster and jump higher than he ever thought possible. With his new found physical capabilities he ran and put both long flat feet foward. The wooden door burst open. The air felt thick for a moment as a group of corrupted Twill moved to attack. Then lightning was everywhere drawn to the metal of their weapons. In moments they fell as Link the Hylian knight took a knee. He had exhausted what power he had in moments. "Wow, this whole place is like a mystic bomb. I didn't mean to use that much I better be careful." He picked up a scimitar and shield that were still a little singed and prepared to fight.
The small woman laughed happily she had truly found some diamonds in Hyrule castle. "Nicely done pinky, good to know you can handle large numbers." She patted her mount gently and continued. "You may both call me Mistress Midna."
