Amy hung on the tree, thinking about what she could do. She was good at sewing, writing, singing…What else? She thought to herself. How to combine that into something… She did like music. What teenager didn't? Wait-
"That's it!" Bat Amy squeaked. She was so excited that she had accidentally lost grip on the branch she was hanging from. She felt herself suddenly drop and flapped her wings to save herself from falling. She let out excited bat squeaks and flew back into the school through an open window.
Shadow was still where she had left him except, he was sitting on the ground with his legs crossed, looking at his phone. He glanced up at the presence of movement from Amy's wings.
"What do you want?" He asked with a frown on his face.
Amy changed back into hedgehog form and smiled awkwardly at him. "Hey…Uh, can I ask you something?"
The male hedgehog breathed in and locked his phone. "I don't know." He said while exhaling the breath. "Ten minutes ago, you got onto me about some shit from 300 years ago, and you told me that I was a dick."
Amy looked around. "Well, you ticked me off with your flirting, and you are a dick." She answered without looking at him.
Shadow's mouth turned into a smug smile. He hummed to himself. "Ha, ha. I know I am. I just hate it when other people point it out to me."
Amy's face then turned dark and her eyes turned red. "But seriously If you hurt Kris like how you hurt Nebula; I am going to pin you to a wall with silver daggers and watch you bleed out."
He blew out air from his nose. "You're cute when you're angry."
Amy's face returned to normal. "Fine, I guess I'll have to inform your mother about it."
Shadow's undead heart stopped and his body went below freezing. The look on his face was a look of pure fear. He had to manually close his mouth to be able to speak again.
"You know, that would be a really good thing to not do. She's already kinda pissed at me for other reasons, and you don't want to make it worse. Please."
Amy slightly smiled and lowered her eyelids. "Oh, I know what she's like, I've been over when that happens."
Shadow hurriedly got up. He tried to smile without flipping out. "So, uh, what can I do for you Miss Rose?" He bowed for her. It was degrading to him, but he felt it was the right thing to do at the moment to get on her good side.
"I wanted to ask you if you knew how to play guitar." She asked.
Shadow thought about it and scratched his ear. "Well, yeah, I do know how. But it's just a hobby I have. I don't play professionally." He answered. "Why?"
The pink vampire smiled. "While I was outside, I had this idea!" She answered with enthusiasm. "And the idea is that I want to start a band!" She hopped excitedly at what her brain had thought up.
Shadow cocked his head to the side in confusion." So, what made you think of this?"
"That thing that I reminded you of with Nebula, she had journals that she would write stories and things inside of them and I thought that I could do something creative like her."
"So, you think that you can just start a band and expect for it to go somewhere?" He asked while trying not to laugh.
Amy folded her arms. "I'm not expecting to become famous or anything, I just want to do something to get out of this depressive rut I've been in."
Shadow folded his arms and started to slowly rock on his feet. "Really? You don't want to start out with a smaller hobby." He replied. "You know, like, writing short stories, writing poetry, scrapbooking; things that don't involve me in any way, shape or form?"
"I already told you, I don't want to get big or anything, I just need some help. Nebs didn't want to get big either, she just wrote for herself. People just happened to really enjoy her work, and she became an author because of it."
"Why do you keep bringing her up?"
"Because she's an example of what I want to do with myself, and if I get popular, well then, I just do. But that's not my goal. My goal is to have fun doing what I like to do."
The pink hedgehog sighed and looked at her feet. "I ask again, will you please help me. I can't do this on my own…" Her bangs and hair hid her face from the male hedgehog, but he could see that she had started to cry.
He looked of to the side and muttered something before swinging his head back to her. "AaaaaAAAA. Okay, okay, I'll help you, just stop crying. Why am I always making people cry even when I don't mean to?" He reached out to touch her shoulder but Amy stepped back. She lifted her head and revealed a mischievous smile on her face. "Wonderful!"
"You were faking crying on me, weren't you?" Shadow looked at her, annoyed.
Amy smirked. "Having over a century of acting lessons pays off sometimes." She twirled around. "I appreciate your agreement to cooperate in my personal project. I'll be coming over to your house later to see what you can do on that guitar of yours!" She happily skipped out of sight down the main hall.
Shadow watched her go and shook his head. "What have I gotten myself into this time?"
Later Amy found Sonic outside in the courtyard. But this time she just walked over to him where he could see her like a normal person would. Sonic was digging a hole for no reason. Dog things that he just has to do or else he gets antsy. The werewolf could sense her coming this time and lifted his upper half out of the hole he was digging.
"Oh, hi Amy. I haven't seen you in a while." He shook the dirt off of hid dark blue fur. "Are you okay?" He asked. "He started to pant for a bit.
"Hey Sonic, I uh, had an injury and I needed to stay home for a few nights." She lowered her voice to a whisper. "I'm not even supposed to be here right now."
Sonic looked at her and blinked. "Ohhhhh…What happened?"
"The sun."
"Oh no!" His ears went down. "…Do you want me to lick the burns? It helps a lot."
"It's okay Sonic, I'm about better."
"Oh, well, if you change your mind, I'm happy to help." He answered. "So, besides that, how have you been? I was trying to find you, and I left you a voicemail."
"I heard it, and I understand now why you said what you said." She replied. "I wanted to tell you that I did find something to occupy myself with."
He smiled. "That's great! What are you going to do?"
"I'm going to try and start a band."
"Wow, that's really cool." Sonic's tail started to wag. "Who's going to do it with you?"
"I've got Shadow agreeing to help."
"Okay., who else?"
"I don't know yet."
Sonic stood on his haunches. "Well, I'm in Band if you want any help from me."
The pink hedgehog shook her head. "No thank you, this is something I'd really like to do without you. I need some time away, no matter how much it hurts my heart to do so."
A little whining sound came from Sonic. "Oh, ok. Maybe this'll be good for both of us."
"Yeah…"
Sonic looked at his hole and glanced at the pink vampire. "We could still hang out right here, if you want to."
"That would be lovely."
"So uh, Silver, can we ask you something?" Ky stood with Kris beside him leaning on a locker. He had his hand in his pocket, fidgeting with some coins. For some reason the hedgehog had dyed his hair black, and made himself out to look very Emo. Perhaps he thought he didn't look "like a vampire" enough. His skinny body didn't help him look any cooler.
Silver lifted his head up from his locker and looked at him. "What do you want to ask me?" He picked himself up off the ground and reattached his arm that had fallen off for the third time since the night had started.
Ky pursed his lips. "Well…Me and Blaze are going to do this thing, and I just wanted to ask if we could do it in your graveyard."
Silver's ears swiveled. "What is this "thing" you and her want to do? May I inform you that that graveyard is MY HOUSE?"
"I know, it's just that we don't know any others."
"Tell me what you want to do."
"That's what I'm trying to do." He replied. "What we want to do is…"
Ky told Silver the whole story of what's going on with Kris up until then. The zombie hedgehog listened intently.
"Why do you have to do this in a graveyard?" He asked. "Can't you just do it in your backyard?"
"No, we gotta be surrounded by dead people."
"Get some of your vampire friends to do that."
"One." Ky started. "I have no other vampire friends. All of the other vampires here hate me for some reason."
"Well then get Shadow to stand there while you do this thing-"
Ky grabbed Silver by the throat and slammed him against the wall. "NO. I don't want Shadow anywhere near us when we do this." He hissed. "I know he's going to flip the fuck out when he sees the end result of this, and I don't want him hurting anyone. ESPECIALLY KRIS!" He bared his fangs to show him that he meant business.
Silver gulped and breathed. "Okay, okay, that was a dumb idea." He choked out. "Okay so, when do you need to do this?"
Ky let him down. "The book says that this only can work while under a full moon. So, tomorrow night."
"Okay, I don't think my family will be doing anything then, just please don't do that again."
Ky picked him up and set him standing up. "Sorry about that, it's the vampire thing, and also the moon. It makes me kind of irritable."
"Why would the moon make you-"
"OKAY Good talk buddy, I'll probably see you before tomorrow, and if I don't, I will see you tomorrow!"
Ky disappeared in a puff of black magic, leaving Silver confused.
"What, was that about?" He tried to ask Kris, but the ghost had also disappeared.
