Chaosshipping (Kaiba Seto/Set/Thief King Bakura/Yami Bakura)
. . .
"Doesn't this feel nostalgic, Seto?"
"I have no idea what the fuck you're talking about."
The white haired boy laughed, and he sounded older than the sixteen years that Seto knew he was. His stomach twisted for some reason in spite of himself, the cold wind cutting through his skin at the top of Kaiba Corporation.
"This game of cat and mouse. We've played it before, remember?"
"Shut up. Where's Mokuba?"
"He's fine," Bakura said, rolling his eyes. "Really. I'm trying to reminisce with you, and all you can think of is the pipsqueak. He didn't even exist until this lifetime. I've been in your life so much longer."
"Shut up. You're speaking nonsense and I don't want anything to do with it."
Bakura's eyes gleamed in the gloomy, almost nighttime light. If not for the clouds, they would have seen the sun setting, but the oncoming storm darkened the sky so much that it might as well be night. Only the glowing city below gave them any light at all—it wouldn't be long before the rain started; he could already feel the mist growing in the air.
His white hair flung out behind him with a vicious gust of wind. Seto had to raise his arm up against the breeze and—
For a minute, the other boy's pale skin looked dark, a twisted scar warping the side of one face, the same cruel violet eyes gleaming out from under a mass of matted lavender-white hair as a red cloak fluttered around him—for just a second, the world seemed sudden bright and hot and oppressive and Seto's own arm looked darkly tanned and he found his thoughts twisting as though he were someone else, felt his soul curling with disgust at the cruel smile on the other's face and a desperate desire to stamp him out—
It was over as soon as it began, and for a moment, Seto could only focus on breathing, feeling dizzy. Why…where had all the hatred towards Bakura come from? Of course he was pissed about Mokuba, but…that hate…it was like he had spent years chasing after that horrible smile.
Bakura grinned at him, once again pale against the dark of the oncoming storm.
"Remember?" was all he whispered, and it sounded like a horrible taunt.
