Ok, so doing the Demon's Tale was taking too long, and I was starting to lose the buzz, so I've decided to start here.
This is a fanfic about the Anime Danmachi, and adds some elements that I came up with.
Of course, this will focus on the Hestia Familia and our favourite white haired boy, Bell Cranel.
However, this will start bad, so please don't hate me, it will be fixed later.
Now let's get into it!
P.S. no lemons...
(This is based just after season 3 ended)

Chapter 1: The Argonaut's Fate

Bell had gone out for some late night supplies for his Familia, under the orders of the controlling Lady Hestia, but he was all too happy to oblige, being such a nice person.
After a quick stop to see Syr and Ryuu in the Hostess of Fertility, he had ran off, seeing that the sun had set, and somewhere along the way, made a wrong turn.
"C'mon, was it left? Wait, I don't recognise this alley" he muttered as he slowly lowered to a walk, unaware of what was about to happen "I got to get back, Lady Hestia will be worried."
As he wandered, eyes began to follow from the shadows, until he stepped into a cross in the alleys, each one holding a shrouded person, looking straight at him.
"Looks like a fighter" one stated "definitely" another added, but the one in front silenced them "Boy, what's your name?" the ringleader asked. "Bell Cranel" he repeated, tense.
"The Little Rookie. What an honour" he mocked "Well, Mr Cranel, do us a favour and don't struggle" the four suddenly lunged at him, their sleeves flicking back and revealing knives.

In a second, Bell unsheathed his blades and prepared to defend himself, quickly parrying the attacks and pushing them back. "Of course he's armed" one of them muttered.
Bell looked around slowly, keeping his eyes on them as much as he could "why are you doing this?" The ringleader chuckled "Not all of us can kill monsters for coin" as the group jumped back in.
Bell was quick to parry them, but one quickly landed a stab into his thigh and backed off, making him wince, but he refused to back down, determined to prevail.
However, as he readied himself one of the slipped behind, tracing his knife passed his throat and...
"...I-I can't move...I-I can't breath...w-what's happening?" he thought as his knees buckled, falling to the ground "I-Is this it?...a-am I...dead?"
As the white haired boy lay there, the group checked his pockets, taking anything of value "who would have thought it would be this easy?" they chuckled, looting his pouch.

Suddenly, the air became cold, almost lifeless, but the muggers were undeterred. As Bell's vision blurred, one though entered his mind "who...is...that?" before he went blank.
As they looted, the form Bell had seen became solid, stepping towards them "you...have sinned" their voice was deep and whispering, as if trailing with the wind.
The thugs turned, ready to attack the interloper, but suddenly froze, dropping their knives "what the hell is that?" one asked "I don't wanna know" another replied, stepping back.
What stood before them was a tall figure, garbed in armour that shined blood red, with intricate patterns and crests upon it, his face concealed by a tattered red hood, with two fiery red eyes.
As they backed away, he opened his hand, a massive, blazing sword appearing (for those who care, a Zweihander) and pointing it at them "run...and your punishment...shall be worse"
The muggers didn't listen and turned to flee. The figure groaned, stabbing his blade into the ground, creating a red aura in the alleyway and holding them still, paralyzed with fear.

Slowly, the figure looked over the unmoving Bell, crouching down to examine him "so young...so much potential" before standing and making a small ball of red fire in his hands.
In a moment, he threw the fireball high into the air, spiralling and sparking as it ascended, eventually exploding into a bright red light, yet the thugs could see nothing.

(Hearth Mansion)
Haruhime was gazing through the window, wondering where Bell was, until she saw the flare "I didn't know there was a firework festival on, you guys. Why didn't you tell me?"
The others look puzzled, gazing over "We didn't know one was going on. And with only one firework, weak" Welf stated, chuckling a little "What do you make of it, Lil Bit?"
"I told you not to call me that, Welf!" Lili replied "And I got no idea either." Mikoto also drew a blank, unsure "Lady Hestia, do you have any idea?" they called for the Goddess' attention.
She wandered over slowly "It's probably just some dumb kid, or one of Ganesha's stunts, nothing impo..." she cut off as she gazed at the crimson light, a feeling of dread creeping into her.

(Twilight Mansion)
Aiz was doing some late night training, under the watchful eye of Rivaria, before the light came into view "Rivaria, what does that flare mean?"Aiz queried, finishing up.
"What flare are you speaking of, Aiz? Did you see one earlier today?" she enquired in return. "No, that one" the Sword Princess pointed at it "What does it mean? Or is it just a firework?"
"Aiz, I honestly don't know what you mean" Riveria returned "There's no flare of light of any kind there, just the stars" this left Aiz very confused, unsure of the invisible light.

(The Hostess of Fertility)
Syr and Ryuu were just finishing cleaning up, as something caught Syr's eye "What is..." she started, but Ryuu, interrupted, seeming to not hear her "seems one of my Familia must have fallen"
"W-what do you mean, Ryuu?" Syr asked, nervous. "There's a flare out there that signifies the unjust death of someone close to me, but you can't see it" she stated bluntly.
"B-but I can" she mumbled, getting her attention "The only way that could be possible is if someone close to both of us is..." both girls suddenly had eyes filled with worry.

(Tower of Babel: Freya's Suite)
Freya gazed upon the splendour of Orario at night, smiling until she saw the flare rising, turning to Ottar "Did we have anyone wandering around tonight, Ottar?" she asked calmly.
"No, goddess, all Familia members are accounted for in Folkvangr" he replied sternly. She gazed back over, her smile becoming smaller till she was blank "they will pay."
"What do you mean, goddess?" Ottar enquired. "It's not your concern, Ottar, but it appears my prize has been stolen, and the thieves will be punished soon."

(The Alleyway)
The figure began to speak, all those who could see the flare hearing this like an echo "If you hear me now, the worst has come to pass. I am sorry for all of your losses. Laying beside me is the adventurer Bell Cranel, who's life has been cut short by 4 criminals. They cared not for his life, nor his friends, instead, they acted with greed and cruelty. I now call upon you who see my beacon, come to its origin and pay your respects, while exacting justice upon these men, for they have earned death, and by your hand will it be given"
For several minutes the alleyway was quiet, only the still crooks and unmoving figure to be seen, but soon enough, footsteps could be heard, approaching quickly and with intent.
From the end of one of the alleys came Ryuu, with Syr in close pursuit. Ryuu's face turned from determination to shock as she gazed at the scene, trying to stop Syr from looking.
When Syr caught a glimpse, her eyes welled with tears as she ran over to them, kneeling by Bell and crying her eyes out. Ryuu slowly approached and kneeled, hand on Syr's shoulder.

The two were quickly joined as the sword princess leapt on scene, fury pasted over her face. And yet, the moment she saw Bell, her hate melted away, walking slowly and collapsing to her knees.
"How...how did they defeat him?" she muttered, eyes wide. "They didn't, one of them crippled his defence and another slit his throat" the figure responded "there was no honour."
The three weren't alone for long as Hestia Familia entered the scene. "W-what...it was true?" Welf stammered. "That can't be him...It Just Can't Be!" Lili started to sob.
Mikoto and Haruhime were already crying rivers, but Hestia was quiet, walking to the figure with her head low. She looked at Bell "He's mine" she stated, voice emotionless.
The figure nodded and looked at the criminals "You are hereby guilty of killing an innocent boy. Punishment...Death" their voice sounded inhuman on that word, as he gestured to them.
The mourning group turned their heads to the criminals, murderous gazes in some, yet more sorrow in others. "Go, and exact justice upon them" the figure stated.

Aiz and Ryuu were first to act, Ryuu grabbing a knife from the floor and aggressively slashing one criminal, while Aiz lifted her blade and did a single slash, cutting many wounds in another.
The third was terrified, and for good reason as Hestia Familia attacked, Mikoto slashing with her Katana, Welf swinging his Greatsword and Lili bombarding him with arrows.
Only one remained, the figure bringing him right over to them and Hestia. "Finish the job, my lady" he stated. Hestia put her hand on the mans chest, her head raising to reveal streaming tears.
Her body glowed a shining red as her face contorted with anger, pushing her hand into the man with force. A small shockwave blasted out and the man fell to the ground, dead.
The group now turned to the figure "who are you?" Aiz queried through her sorrow. "My name is Kraya, culminated God of Death" he replied, sending shivers down the spines of them all.
"The Gods of Death decided that it would be best to combine to fulfil our purpose without clashing, all except Demeter and Freya" they added "now my work begins."

He kneeled down to Bell and held his hand. "What is he doing, Hestia?" Welf asked, but she remained silent, body its normal colour. The group could only watch the miracle that would happen.
As Kraya slowly rose, his hand fell through Bell's, yet still held on to an almost mist like hand, slowly pulling Bell's spirit out of his fallen body. The others gasped, some with joy, others surprise. Syr and Haruhime jumped at the same time, going to hug him, but instead, passing through his body. The others were stunned by this, and continued to watch the supernatural moment.
"Bell Cranel. You have been ended unjustly and without honour. Due to this, your soul is now set for earning a second chance. Are you ready?" Kraya asked the spirit of Bell.
"I'm not ready to die yet...Yes. I am ready for whatever you have planned" he responded confidently. His friends and allies smiled, and Hestia rubbed her tears "That's my Bell"
Kraya raised his sword and slashed the air, a large cut opening "step through, and prepare for what will come." Bell nodded and walked in, disappearing before their eyes.

He then turned to them "Young Bell will have one week to earn his second chance" he waved his hand and a brazier appeared "These will appear in all places you most frequent, a Hellfire Brazier. Anything that is burned by their flames will go to Bell, but anything that will help him will have a cost" he waved it away "you will all get a chance to speak with the boy, so be ready."
"Hestia Familia, you will see him tomorrow at sundown. Wallenstein will see him the day after, and you two others will the day after that. Give him strength, he will need it."
They nodded as Kraya was about to step through the rift, but Aiz stopped him "What trials shall Bell face?" He gazed over "Three trials, which may revive him...or finish him for good"
She gulped, as did several of the others. Kraya lifted his blade and waved it over Bell's body, which suddenly healed up "His body will last until the trials. Keep it safe"
He then stepped through the portal and vanished too, the rift closing like a sealed up wound.

The group looked at each other, unsure of what to do next, before looking at Hestia "Mind explaining what is going on, Hestia?" Welf started, checking to see if he had blood on his clothes.
"It's been in Familia law for over a century" she started "that if an adventurer is to die unjustly, or in circumstances they couldn't control, that they are offered a second chance"
"Ok..." Lili stated. "Those who can afford keeping the body fresh have more opportunities to get their member back, as do those who can afford burning useful items."
"Go on" Mikoto implored. "Bell is now in the underworld, where he will train until the trial starts. If he completes the trial, his spirit will return to his body and he'll live again."
"What if he fails?" Aiz enquired this time. "He'll have until his body starts decaying...I can't afford for his body to be maintained" she was getting emotional "h-he only has one chance."
Surprisingly, it was Syr who comforted Hestia "Don't think like that, goddess. Bell is too determined and stubborn to lose, right?" she was clearly forcing the smile, but it was a brave face.

Hestia wiped her tears and smiled too, nodding "Yeah...he wouldn't dare leave us for good. And if he does, I'm gonna go right down there and drag him back up" she chuckled.
"So what do we do about this?" Ryuu gestured to the bloodbath, but before anyone could answer... "I'll take care of that" a voice echoed from behind, strong and feminine.
As they turned, the group saw the white haired beauty of Freya walking their way. "W-where did you come from?" Hestia demanded, standing in front of Bell while Mikoto covered Welf's eyes.
"You have no need to fear, I work with Kraya on these things" she replied, kneeling by Bell "and besides, I'm not into necrophilia" (if you are innocent, don't search that, please)
As if out of nowhere, she produced a blanket and covered him in it "Take him home, Hestia, and put him somewhere comfortable." "Thank you" she nodded and gestured to her Familia.
The group slowly lifted him up onto their shoulders, walking with Hestia in front. Freya smiled and walked away, planning out the next few days, while the others returned home.

That night, a Hellfire Brazier appeared in both the Hearth Mansion and the Twilight Mansion, as well as the Hostess of Fertility, and the homes of Ryuu and Syr.

And there you have it, my first chapter of the Days of Death, my own little idea of how the God of Death would work in the world of Danmachi.
I wrote this a while ago, but I have been busy with my A-Level studies, so I haven't had the chance to finish it. Hope you like it.
This will continue in Chapter 2: Welcome to Hell, Little Rookie. I hope that goes ok, as well, and that you'll all like it.
Alright, guys, cya next time, bye!
