It's been a little over a year since my rebirth as Orion the Saiyan son of Bardock and Gine. As it was the custom of Saiyans, once I was brought to my new home, I was put inside an incubation pod to help my development and growth. This gave me plenty of time to think about my situation. Since I was born before Raditz, that means I have a lot of time, about maybe a couple years or so, before Frieza destroys the planet and all the Saiyans. Vegeta was 5 or so when it happened, so once Vegeta is 5 that's how I'll know the time frame better. Of course I don't even know if Vegeta is even born right now.

Either way, I can't be here when that happens. Another timestamp to pay attention to is Goku's birth. Once he is born, the destruction will happen soon after. To guarantee my survival, I need to get strong enough to be sent on missions when the eradication happens, or maybe even seen as a worthy minion to keep alive until further notice. Then comes the second problem of how to save my new family at least. Since I'm here, I would prefer to save not only Goku and Raditz, but Bardock and Gine too. Unfortunately, that seems like a pipe dream, just from their personalities. Bardock without a doubt would rather fight to the death despite it being a losing battle just for the chance to stop Frieza. That's not me though. I'm weak, and there's no way I could take on Frieza even if I trained like crazy for every second I have.

Even so, maybe I can do something to change fate. I'm not going to waste a single second. So as soon as I was put into the incubation pod, I began meditating to strengthen my ki. It was difficult at first, since I had never used ki before, but once I began to feel the energy in me and was able to train by meditation, it became routine. After all this time, I had a way better understanding about my ki and I definitely felt stronger. Today, I thought it was going to be another day of mediation, but Bardock came by with Gine and put a scanner up to the pod.

"Power level of 500? He's gotten stronger already. I think it's time to get him out of here for some basic training." Bardock said as he readied the pod to release me.

"Are you sure it isn't too soon for that? Orion is only a year old." Gine asked in a concerned tone.

"He'll be fine. He's strong. Besides, We're only going to do basic things, like teach him how to walk and move his body before we get to basic training like sit ups and push ups." Bardock explained. I shuddered at the thought of doing even basic exercises right now. I'm only a year old and this planet has 10x earth's gravity, which I could only imagine how it feels when moving around training. Bardock, or I suppose I should call him 'Dad' or 'Father' now, finished deactivating the pod, and I felt the liquid being drained. Once it was empty and I was brought out of the pod, Bardock began teaching me simple things like how to walk, run, and move my body around properly after cleaning the pod.

It took a while, since the gravity was quite straining on my new body, but I managed to walk over to Bardock much sooner than I expected. Bardock seemed really proud of me, patting my head and giving me a small smile. After that, Bardock had me do a bit more training for me to get used to moving my body before we ate. Gine prepared a feast, or maybe this was normal for Saiyans. Either way, I wasn't complaining, since it had both been a long time since I ate solid food and I now had a Saiyan's appetite.

After devouring the meal, me and Bardock both patted our stomachs happily as Gine gave us a loving smile. Gine and Bardock then took me to what was now my room and put me to bed. I was a little shocked, since I thought Saiyans were a little more cold towards even their family, but Gine and even Bardock appeared like a loving family. I'm really lucky to have been born into such a kind family. I wonder... I opened up my mouth and moved it around before finally trying to speak for the first time before my parents left me.

"Th-Th...Thank you, mom, dad." I managed to say, though it was a little difficult at first. Thankfully, it hadn't been too long since I last spoke, so I retained most of how to form words and sounds. Bardock and especially Gine looked both shocked and incredibly proud at me speaking at such a young age. Gine rushed at me and pulled me into a hug.

"You said your first sentence! I'm so proud of you Orion!" She said happily. Bardock soon joined into the hug as well, bringing both me and Gine close to him.

"That's my boy. Orion, my son." He said with pride. I couldn't help but giggle at that. Making them so happy just by speaking. It made me really happy to see them like that. It made me want to try harder for them.

After another year, I had grown even stronger. I was really surprised by how much I had matured. I can probably thank Saiyan biology for how I could develop this much despite being only 2 years old. I could now speak fluently and the gravity increase was not even noticeable anymore. Even more than that, but I had learned even more about my abilities and myself. Shortly after leaving the pod and being able to move around myself, I finally got to see what I looked like now in my new body. It was shocking to say the least. I didn't look a whole lot like my old self. Even stranger was how Bardock was right about how I didn't look like the average Saiyan.

For starters, my hair wasn't just black. It was primarily black, but had white tips and edges. Not just that, but my eyes had silver irises. Other than those two details, I was definitely a Saiyan, monkey tail included, which I preferred to just let sway behind me instead of around my waist. My hair was also incredibly spiky already. It was like Goku's super saiyan hair, but pushed to the side a bit and slightly curved to the right at the ends. Totally anime hair at it's finest, though I liked it. I had also gotten around to learning the basics of flight, since Saiyans have above average ki control as a race. I had a few...I'll call them mishaps while learning flight, but nothing I couldn't handle.

Flashback

"Ok...Ok...I got this." I told myself as I slowly began to hover off the ground. "Focus... Focus..." Soon, I was a couple of feet off the ground. "Hehehe, YES!" I shouted as I began to move around in the air. It was such an exhilarating feeling. I began to zoom through the air and flew around the village, laughing all the while. That is until a certain thought came into my mind. "Wait...how do I slow down and land?" Long story short, in an attempt to do just that, I crashed into a meat vendor's store and ate dirt for a couple of meters. I had bruises from that for a week.

Present

And that was just one of the mishaps I had while training. I was lucky though. Whenever Bardock had a chance outside of his missions, he trained me and taught me best he could. Gine did too, though she wasn't as experienced or strong as Bardock. Both their teachings helped me a lot, as my power level bumped up to 750ish. Now that I had a little power behind me and the basics of fighting and ki control down, I decided to start learning some techniques. I was out in the wasteland near the city in my Saiyan armor training to this end. It looked like Bardock's armor from his original movie appearance, but instead of a green and blue color scheme it was purple and white with black accents and outlines. Around my neck was the galaxy necklace Bardock got me at birth, the necklace that I've never taken off after getting it.

I stood in the middle of the wasteland and took in the view. It's still a little hard to believe that I'm here on this completely different planet instead of Earth sometimes. I look up at the vast blue sky. That hasn't changed, though the two gigantic planets that are nearby are always cool to see. Mix that with the bright green grass and the rocks that have a shade of dark violet, it makes for some nice scenery despite being a wasteland.

Bardock had already taught me a few basic moves like energy blast and waves, as well as showing me some of his trademark attacks like riot javelin. First to make sure I had the idea of the attack down, I decided to try doing a riot javelin of my own. I concentrated my ki into my hand, causing a purple and white energy to surge around my hand. Once I felt it was enough, I threw it from my hand into the wilderness that I was training in. The blast flew quickly in the air until it hit a rock pillar, blowing it up. I smiled at the result, even if it was weaker than Bardock's. At least I knew I had the concept down. Time to test my idea. I began charging my ki again, but this time, I didn't focus it at my hand, but above both my hands. It was more technical compared to the last attack, but if I can pull this off it will be worth it. I managed to form multiple small energy balls above both my hands. Focusing on them, I yelled out the attack name as I threw the balls from my hands.

"Comet Barrage!" Once thrown, the orbs moved at incredible speed as they moved across the wasteland. There were multiple rock pillars that the orbs could have collided with, but they weren't my target. As such, each of the orbs moved gracefully and quickly around the pillars, making their way to their true target: the large hill off in the distance. That's when I closed my fist as they neared their target. When I did, the orbs all combined, forming a much larger purple ball that was engulfed in a fiery white aura that made it look like a comet. It made contact with the hill, blowing a giant hole into its side with a large explosion. "Good Lordy Piccolo FINALLY!" I shouted in a tired tone as I fell onto my back. "3 weeks of trying to perfect this concept and I finally pulled it off. That's one original move down. Just need a few more before I'm satisfied."

That attack took so long to master, though it was worth it. It's pretty versatile, being able to handle multiple foes with its multiple shots or combine into a much stronger combined shot to take out a single enemy. Not only that, but the shots themselves are incredibly fast while still packing a lot of punch. To top it all off, it uses my incredible ki control that's better than even some experienced Saiyan warriors to form a spiral blast instead of just a normal blast at the end. Making the blast spiral not only makes it go fast, but also makes it hit harder and easier to break guards and shields. It's hard to do normally now, but if I can do that naturally for all my ki attacks, it will be pretty powerful. I'm honestly not sure why anyone else doesn't do this. The only other person I can think of is Piccolo with his Special Beam Cannon.

Just as I began to relax my body after finally performing the attack, I got a call from my purple scouter that I was wearing. I saw that it was my father Bardock and answered immediately. "Hey Dad. Did you need something?"

"Orion, it's happening right now! Hurry over right now!" My eyes widened as I quickly flew into the air and sped off to the hospital. It was finally time for my brother to be born. I still remember how shocked I was when they told me about it a few months ago. I'm only about 2 years old and they want another kid already? Of course I jest, but it happened sooner than I expected. I eventually made it to the city's hospital and rushed over to where my parents were. Upon entering the room, I saw my younger brother. I couldn't help but smile while wondering how he could have such long hair already. Gine looked at me with a kind smile.

"Orion, meet your younger brother, Raditz." Thus, my life with my new younger brother began. Raditz's power level at birth wasn't very large, being a little under the average. Bardock didn't seem to care though, still helping him train and get stronger once Raditz was able to. Raditz's growth in the incubation pod wasn't very much, which makes sense since he's just an infant while I still have the mind of an adult, but he grew enough to prevent being shipped off. Still, as Raditz grew, Bardock and even myself helped him train and grow stronger.

After a couple of years, when I was 6 and Raditz was 4, I took him to the wasteland with me while I trained, helping him out with his own training while still doing my own. I'd been doing this for a while to try and get us both stronger for the future. At this point, I had mastered my 'spiral ki' as I call it, and my power level was around 850, what with my daily training that was almost 24/7. I had also completely mastered Comet Barrage and was now trying to create another move. During my training with Raditz over the years, I was able to learn other fundamental techniques, like being able to sense ki without the need of a scouter and suppressing my power level, though I keep those skills hidden as best I can. Raditz, who was around the 400s in terms of power, had just finished his own basic training and was now watching me as I tried theory crafting moves. After a bit, I finally came up with an idea. "I wonder..." I thought out loud as I began to charge my ki and extended both my hands in front of me.

"Brother, what are you doing?" Raditz asked me while he tilted his head in confusion. I didn't answer as I focused my ki to form the image in my head. After focusing for a few minutes, the ki slowly began to form in front of me in a circular glass-like form. I could only hold it for a few seconds before I collapsed from exhaustion, the ki fading at the same time. "Amazing, brother! What was that?" Raditz asked, amazement apparent in his voice. I turned to him and gave him a thumbs up.

"I call it Saturn's Shield." I told him in between breaths. "I don't see a lot of defensive uses for ki, so I thought it would be a good idea to be able to use my ki as a shield in case someone fires a blast I wouldn't normally handle."

"But if it's defense you want, wouldn't it be better to use your ki like armor and surround your body?" Raditz asked.

"That's a good point. In a fight, ki already does that a little bit, though not enough to be called armor, and some Saiyans already have techniques that do that. Strengthening the ki around my body to act like armor is a good idea, but this is mainly for pure defense against a extremely powerful attack."

"What do you mean?"

"Let's say someone fires a blast at me that would normally kill me. If I focus my ki all around my entire body, I would probably die still, since the energy is spread across my body. If instead I focus all the energy to a single point, like a shield in front of me, the energy condenses and is able to block more."

"So it's a stronger defense then?"

"Yep. Once I master it, I should be able to block attacks that I wouldn't be able to otherwise. And once I get stronger, the shield will get stronger too. If I can add a few more layers, make the shield thicker and stronger, the usefulness of the shield will only grow."

"Wow!" I smiled at my brother's awe. "I hope I can get just as strong as you and Father." I patted Raditz's head and gave him a reassuring smile.

"You will. You just need to keep training as hard as you can. Don't be afraid to take a harder and risky path. We're Saiyans, after all. Everytime we lose or get beaten, even to the point of death, we grow stronger. That doesn't mean to willingly throw your life away, but don't be afraid to lose." Raditz looked at me and nodded.

"I won't. I won't disappoint you or Father."

"I know you won't. Now then, how about we spar for a bit. You could use the training." Raditz gave me an excited look before getting into a battle stance. I got into my own stance and I closed my eyes. I began to feel all the energy around me, including Raditz's. I waited, and waited, and waited, until finally there was movement. I dodged out of the way and pushed Raditz away from me once I did. Raditz stumbled for a bit before turning back around and blasting me with his signature Double Sunday, quickly charging two pink blasts in both his hands and firing them at me. I dodged the blasts and got close to Raditz before punching him in the gut and kicking him away. Raditz held his gut as he stumbled backwards and fell. I relaxed my body and walked up to my little brother and offered him a hand, which he took. "You're getting better. Your Double Sunday would have definitely hurt me if it hit."

"But you still beat me with just a single punch and kick. How am I ever going to be as strong as you, brother?" Raditz asked.

"I didn't get this strong overnight. I spent almost every hour of every day just training and practicing. I trained so hard that Father had to come pick me up a few times since I was too exhausted to move."

"But why would you go that far? It can't just be because of Saiyan Pride or the desire to get strong, right?"

"...No it isn't. There's multiple reasons why I want to get stronger as soon as possible. I want to protect what's important to me. I want to survive whatever may happen. And I want to make our family proud. Those are just a few reasons why. I trained to the point of exhaustion for those reasons. It's why I'm so strong despite being so young. Each time I break my body and injure myself in training, my Saiyan biology gives me a strength increase. That's why I told you to not be afraid to train hard and fight hard. Don't be afraid of failure or being overwhelmed. Your Saiyan boost will give you a massive advantage the next time you're in a fight." Raditz thought for a moment before nodding.

"I understand. I'll do my best."

"Good. I know you'll do your best. You always do." I told him as I rubbed his head. "Now then, how about we head back home. I don't know about you, but I'm famished."

"Yeah!" Raditz then ran off ahead of me towards the house. I shook my head and sighed with a smile before following after him. We began walking back, going through the bazaar that connected the wasteland to and the city to our home. Raditz kept walking at a steady pace and looked in awe at the various meats and other wares that were on display, while I just kept walking. I wasn't paying much attention to what was happening around me, but I knew that a couple of other Saiyans were looking at me and talking about me. I was used to it at this point. I was already a strange looking Saiyan, what with the white in my hair and my silver eyes, but what made me a point of discussion was how most people knew that I went out into the wasteland and trained myself half to death. They know since there's always a loud explosion that happens a couple of times when I train. It's caused some problems in the past.

Flashback

I had just entered the wasteland by myself for my daily training. Bardock was still on a mission and Raditz was with Gine at home. It was just me and the desert land. It was perfect for unrestricted training. I did a basic warm up first, including stretches, sit ups, push ups, jumping jacks, and a few minutes practicing ki control. Once the warm up was done, I began the real workout. I crouched down into a running position before dashing off into a section of the wasteland that was littered with rock pillars and structures. I ran as quickly as I could, dashing in between the pillars. While doing so, I began firing ki blasts at a far away structure that was perfect for this type of training. After perfectly hitting the structure with each blast, I ran straight at another large rock structure and began attacking it, hitting it so hard that cracks formed. After a couple more hits, I hit it as hard as I could, completely destroying the structure.

I did a few hand flips backwards away from where the structure once was before creating multiple small ki orbs above my hands and threw them into the air. "Comet Barrage!" I shouted as the orbs flew into the air before curving back at me. I began dodging my own attacks, dashing and ducking as the orbs tried to pelt me. I even knocked a few away, causing them to bash into other rock pillars and destroying them. Eventually, the orbs flew into the air and combined for the final blast before coming straight at me. I stood still and held my arms in front of me, ready to intercept the blast. As soon as the spiralling blast hit me, I was continuously pushed back as I endured the pain while blocking the attack. Eventually, the blast finished with an explosion, knocking me back into the air, but I came back to my senses and landed, a bit wobbly, but still on point. I took a few breaths before relaxing a bit. "Ok. Not as bad as the last time where I tripped and was hit by each orb or the time where I cracked my knuckles while punching the pillar the first time I tried this. Alright... Time to do it a few more times."

A few hours later, I had collapsed from exhaustion, having destroyed most of my surroundings and covering my body in injuries in the process. Bardock eventually came by and saw the sorry state I was in. He picked me up and flew me back home, to which Gine began crying and telling me off for taking it too far.

Present

I had done training like that multiple times prior and after that day. It's no surprise the locals know the 'Silver Saiyan', the 6 year old low class warrior that can beat some adults and isn't afraid to take hard hits. Honestly, people were surprised I hadn't been assigned on a team and performed missions with how strong I was steadily getting. I was curious too, since I was older than Vegeta was when he was sent off planet on a mission that saved him from eradication. As I continued walking while in deep thought, I was brought back to reality when I started hearing a commotion nearby. I looked up to see what was happening, only to be left utterly baffled. There, walking down the street, was Mother f-ing Cooler in all of his final form glory.

His power was... unbelievable would not do it justice. Suffocating was better to describe it. I couldn't believe just how outclassed literally every Saiyan combined was compared to him. He alone could kill everyone 10 times over. I couldn't move as I stared at him and his crew walking down the streets, looking at the vendors and the other Saiyans. What...do I do? Why is he here? I thought Cooler wasn't canon in the dbz world! Well I guess he is now! Is he here to kill people or what? That's when something even scarier happened. Cooler made eye contact with me. I silently hoped that he would just ignore me and go about his business. Of course, that's not what happened. As soon as he saw me, I saw him smirk, something that sent a chill down my spine. I need an adult... With sweat dripping down my face, I turned around, pretended none of that ever happened, and began to leave.

"Making my way downtown, walking fast..." I quietly sang.

"Excuse me, but did anyone see where that silver eyed Saiyan boy went?" I heard Cooler ask from afar.

"WALKING FASTER...!" I sang once again while picking up the pace, quickly dragging Raditz away from the bazaar, despite his complaints of 'looking at interesting Saiyan products'. I forced him to join me in walking the long way back before we finally got home. "Whew... it's good to be back home. Nothing to worry about here." I said, causing Raditz to look at me in confusion.

"What do you mean by that?"

"Well, you see little bro, I was-" I opened the front door and stopped dead in my tracks as soon as I laid eyes on the living room.

"Why hello there, silver eyed Saiyan. Orion, I think your parents said your name was." A familiar purple alien tyrant said to me. Shit...
