I couldn't stop crying. It was all too painful. It was the day Planet Vegeta was blown up all over again. I was losing my family once again, and I couldn't do anything about it. What am I supposed to do now? I've failed again. That's all I do. I couldn't protect my parents, my home, my race and people, and now my brother. I couldn't help but feel completely worthless. Krillin was crying for Goku to wake up, while everyone else except Piccolo was in a state of mourning. Gohan was completely destroyed. His father died right in front of him. I can imagine how he's feeling. After a while, Goku's body disappeared. Everyone started to panic until Piccolo spoke.

"It had to be Kami. He's the only one capable of doing something like that. He must have some sort of scheme." Piccolo explained.

"Well, if Goku isn't safe with the Guardian of Earth, then he isn't safe anywhere." Master Roshi said.

"But why would Kami take Goku's body?" Krillin asked.

"It's probably because Raditz is still alive." Piccolo said.

"What!?" Everyone yelled.

"But how!?" Bulma asked.

"Ask Orion here." Piccolo said with a scoff as he went to grab his weighted clothes. Everyone turned to me with expecting eyes.

"I...I'm sorry everyone. I just...couldn't watch both Raditz and Kakarot die. I wanted to save them both, but... my shield wasn't strong enough." I said, slamming my fist into the ground. I then felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked up and saw Krillin giving me a kind look.

"We don't blame you. They're both your brothers. You were just doing what any older brother would do. Besides, we can bring Goku back with the dragon balls. We can still save him." Krillin's words helped clear my head. I began to calm down, remembering that everything was fine and under control. I took a deep breath before I talked.

"So what happens now?" I found myself asking, though it was directed more to myself than the others. Where do I go from here? Raditz is alive. That changes a lot.

"We hunt down the dragon balls so we can bring Goku back. Then we'll deal with Raditz later." Krillin said. I averted my eyes when I heard this. I have to tell them about the other Saiyans.

"About that, I think we have more to worry about than Raditz." I said, causing everyone to give me a concerned look.

"What do you mean?" Roshi asked me.

"Raditz wanted to bring me and Kakarot back to his other Saiyan teammates. There are two other Saiyans out there that are stronger than Raditz. I might be stronger than one of them if they're as strong as I think he is, but the other one is over 3x stronger than I am. I bet they'll be coming here to either pick up Raditz, kill him, and/or do one of those things to me."

"Wait, how would they know what happened here?" Bulma asked. I took off my scouter and handed it to her.

"This device is called a scouter. It allows anyone who can't sense energy to detect it as well as give it a power level so that you know how strong someone is, though I don't trust it with that later function. Other than that, it acts as a communication device when it's on. It's always transmitting on an open channel that other scouters will pick up. Mine is off, but I'm not sure about Raditz's. Even if his allies didn't get the live broadcast of what happened, I'm sure Raditz will try to contact them to back up. My estimate is that they will arrive here in about a year's time."

"Then we don't have time to lose." Piccolo said as he regenerated his arm. Everyone was shocked and disgusted by this except me.

"He can just do that!?" Krillin asked.

"Namekians have regenerative abilities." I explained.

"I can see that!"

"You all need to focus on getting the dragon balls so Goku can be revived. Maybe you can get other strong warriors to try to get stronger against these other Saiyans too. As for me, I'm going to take the kid." Piccolo said while pointing at Gohan.

"What!?" Gohan shrieked.

"What are you going to do with him?" Bulma asked.

"Orion said that we have about 1 year before those other Saiyans come here. That boy has incredible potential, and we'll need it if we're to survive, but for him to learn how to use that power, he needs someone to teach him. There's too little time and too much to learn, so for the next year he's with me." Piccolo explained.

"I don't think that's a good idea. Gohan's just a kid!" Krillin argued.

"I need an adult..." I heard Gohan say.

"I am an adult and this isn't up for debate. I'm taking the boy whether you like it or not." Piccolo stated.

"Uncle Orion..." I felt Gohan tug at my leg. I looked down at him as he looked at me with pleading eyes. I crouched down and patted his head.

"Don't worry Gohan. Your dad wanted me to take care of you while he's gone, and I made a promise to protect you and anyone else in my family, so you don't have to worry about anything." Gohan and the others seemed to relax at that while Piccolo scoffed. "But Gohan, I think you should go train with Piccolo." Everyone did a double take at that. Even Piccolo was shocked that I agreed with him.

"But Orion!" Bulma said.

"We don't have a choice in the matter." I cut her off. "Gohan has the potential to be one of Earth's mightiest defenders, and we'll need all the help we can get. Not just for this threat, but for threats that might happen later." I turned back to Gohan, who looked scared out of his mind. "Don't worry Gohan. I won't let anything happen to you. I promise." I said raising my pinky finger towards him. He looked at my finger with a confused look before I sighed and explained. "It's called a 'pinky promise'. We intertwine our pinkies and make an unbreakable promise." Gohan looked at me with wide eyes before wrapping his pinky finger with mine. "There. Now I can't break my promise. That's a fact."

"Y-Yeah!" Gohan said. He then walked up to Piccolo and looked at him, his expression becoming more and more terrified. "I-I-I'm ready to go when you want." Piccolo chuckled before picking the kid up, this time in a much nicer way than in the show.

"Alright kid. We start immediately after we find a good place to train." Piccolo then looked at the others. "Don't worry. You'll see the kid once a year has passed and he's strong enough to hold his own." He then turned to me. "What are you going to do? Are you going to help me train the kid?"

"Yeah, but I need to do something first." I told him. "It shouldn't take too long... I think."

"And what would that be?" I turned to look at Piccolo with a sly smile.

"I'm gonna find Raditz and get him to join our side for the upcoming fight." With that I began to fly away, ignoring the shocked looks of everyone I'm leaving behind. "Oh hey! Bulma was it? You can keep the scouter! Just don't hit the red button! That turns it on, meaning it will transmit to my boss! You can reverse engineer it though I'm sure! You seem smart! Also, my ship is in the forest near a place called West City I think! If you find it, you can use it's technology for your own projects. I also have some spare armor that you can experiment with!" With that I flew faster, heading to where Raditz was.

3rd person

The others could only watch as Orion flew off. They couldn't believe him. They knew Raditz was his brother and all, but did he really think he could convince him to switch sides?

"That guy is like a storm..." Krillin found himself saying.

"More like a tornado..." Roshi added.

"He's a strange one. He seems to know a lot, maybe even more than he lets on. And he's strong. I'm sure he can handle himself. Maybe he can convince that bastard to help us. Or maybe he'll do us the favor of killing him if he refuses." Piccolo said before leaving with Gohan.

"He definitely is Goku's brother. He acts like an older, smarter, more mature version of Goku." Bulma sighed before turning her attention to the scouter. "It was nice of him to give me his scouter. Maybe I can figure something out with this. And if he's willingly letting me experiment with the technology and materials on his ships, then who knows what I could do. He said turning it on would connect it to his boss, so maybe I can disconnect it from their network. If I can figure this out, this could lead to a huge breakthrough..." Bulma pondered while looking at the purple and white device.

"I wonder if he's going to stay here on earth. He might be a Saiyan, but you're right about him being a lot like Goku. He seems like a good guy. He was really down about Goku's death." Krillin said.

"It would certainly be interesting, to say the least." Roshi said. "If him living here on earth will be like having another Goku here, I'm not sure the world can take it, especially in the food department." Roshi joked, making himself burst into laughter.

"Oh geez you're right about that." Krillin laughed.

Orion's perspective

I flew off and eventually found Raditz hiding out in a place near the mountains. I saw him talking on his scouter. I guess he did call Vegeta and Nappa. As I flew closer I began to hear the conversation.

"But Vegeta! These people had abilities I didn't expect!"

"So? You still lost against two people whose power levels weren't even above 500, and a child. You're brother Orion, who you said had a power level of 5,000 didn't even fight you. You may have grown stronger during these 24 years, but you're still Raditz the Runt. A pathetic disgrace to Saiyans."

"But-"

"Don't worry. We'll come to earth. Once we're there, we'll finish you off. We'll do the same to Orion and Kakarot's kid if they refuse to come with us. And you said there was a Namekian there as well? Could prove to be interesting."

"Vegeta, I-"

"I've heard enough babble from you, Raditz. From this point onwards you're on your own." With that, I saw Raditz try to say something, but Vegeta must have cut the connection. Raditz sighed in defeat, but then as he saw me his eyes widened.

"Brother!?" I quickly put my hands up defensively, signaling him that I wasn't here to fight.

"Hey Raditz. I'm guessing that was Vegeta, right? I bet he was pissed." Raditz averted his pained gaze as I floated down next to him. "Are you ok?"

"Define 'ok'." Raditz said, turning off his scouter, still refusing to look at me. I sighed as I sat next to him in silence. It's strange how things change like this. I still remember when Raditz and I trained in the wasteland. Back then, everything felt fine. Even with me knowing about the planet's fate, I was content with life with everyone. But now, here we are. Kakarot's dead and it's partially both our fault. Not only that, but we've both spent the last 2 decades working for galaxy tyrants. It's funny how things turn out. "What's going to happen now?" Raditz eventually asked me.

"I don't know about you, but I'm going to fight with the other warriors here to defend Earth. I know Vegeta and Nappa are coming, so I'm going to do right by Kakarot and help defend his planet. Who knows, maybe I'll even live here once we're done."

"Live here? What about the Cooler Force?" Raditz asked.

"I never liked the way the Frieza Force, Cooler Force, or even the Saiyan race conquered and subjugated other races and planets. I'd rather help people than enslave them or kill them." I explained. "My time with the Cooler Force wasn't all bad, as I learned a lot and grew stronger, as well as had good times with some of the soldiers there, but I would have been much happier if I was doing good."

"Doing good, huh..." Raditz mumbled with a contemplative look.

"You could help us, you know."

"What?"

"I saw you reach out to try to pull Kakarot away from the blast when you broke free from his hold." Raditz tensed up when he heard that. "Despite how you both were just fighting, you tried to save him. There's good in you, Raditz. I, and maybe even the others, might be willing to give you a chance to prove that."

"But that won't change the fact that Kakarot is dead." Raditz grumbled.

"Maybe, but that won't last." I told him.

"What do you mean?"

"This place has things called Dragon Balls. When someone gathers all 7 balls, they can grant a wish. Even reviving someone." I told him. "Kakarot's friends are already gathering the dragon balls to bring back Kakarot."

"Really!?" Raditz immediately perked up upon hearing the news.

"Yeah. They told me they would, and I don't have any reason to doubt them."

"I see. That's... quite fortunate." Raditz said. "Even if that's the case, I'm not sure if I should help. I wouldn't be able to help against Nappa and Vegeta, and I doubt any of Kakarot's friends would trust me."

"Don't worry about any of that. There are plenty of reasons why you should help us. For one, helping might rekindle your relationship with Kakarot. We could be a family again."

"...That would be nice..."

"And another thing, if you train with us to help fight the other Saiyans, then you can prove to Nappa and Vegeta that you aren't some weak runt that can be pushed around." I told him. "Imagine putting both of them in their place by beating them." Raditz slowly formed a smile at the thought.

"That would be very nice. No matter how strong I got, Nappa and Vegeta would always treat me like a low class warrior and scum. Putting them in their place would be a nice change of pace."

"So I guess it's decided then, right?"

"...Very well. I will help you all fight the other Saiyans. I won't make any promises as to what happens after that, though."

"Alright. I'm sure you'll stay though." I said, causing Raditz to scoff at the notion.

"Believe what you will. Now, where will we train?"

"Remember the Namekian? His name is Piccolo, and he is going to train our nephew, Gohan. I offered to help him with that. While we train Gohan, we can train ourselves. I think it's quite ideal for us."

"Very well. I hope the brat doesn't panic too much when he sees me."

"He should know you're coming. I told everyone I was going to convince you to join our side."

"You were that confident?"

"I am your older brother." I told him.

"Yeah... my big bro..." I heard him quietly say. I smiled at that. No matter what, the three of us... We'll always be brothers
