Yours Again
A/N: Next month I won't be able to update as much since I'm going on vacation for a week, but for now I hope y'all are enjoying Midsummer Souls. Also I should've said this way earlier this is set during the 1770s.
Sandy looked at him, wondering if he was real. If he were really standing in front of her. She hobbled over, reaching out to touch his face. He leaned into her touch, closing his eyes for a moment.
"It's really you," she mumbled, throwing her arms around his neck in a fierce hug. "I thought you, what are you doin' here?" she asked, heat rolling through her as Shadow pressed his lips against the palm of her hand.
"I came to see you," he answered, leading her to the bed.
She sat down, eyes never leaving Shadow as he followed suit. In the months, or was it weeks, he had left, she wondered if something had changed between them.
He cupped her cheek, stroking his thumb against her bottom lip. "I came to see you," he repeated, leaning forward.
She swallowed, turning out of his light grip. "Well, I'm here." She replied, messing with the skirt of her dress. "Could you help me?" Escape, set me free. "Undress, I mean. . .since Amina's busy with guests." She continued, averting her gaze from Shadow.
She heard his intake of breath before he shifted to stand. He started slowly, quiet as he unlaced her corset and stay, fingers brushing along her clothed spine. He reached around her, plucking the pins from her dress with deft fingers.
Sandy swallowed as he untied one layer of her skirts, then the next until she was only in her stockings and shift. She met her own gaze in the mirror, breath ticking up as she watched their reflections.
This wasn't right.
She was married.
Only Valen should see her like this.
Shadow knelt, gently taking her leg in his hands to untie the simple garter above her knee and remove her stockings.
She didn't deserve to held like this. Like she would break at any moment.
"Shadow," she mumbled, keeping her gaze solely on her reflection.
"Yes?" he replied, rising to stand behind her. Meeting her eyes in the mirror.
Free me. Kiss me. Love me. She wanted to say all those things and more, but she couldn't. She bit her bottom lip, moving away from him and turning to face him.
She simply held out her hand, a small smile on her face as he took it.
"Be my patron one more time,"
