Alliumshipping (Dark Magician/Mutou Yugi)
. . .
He wakes up slowly, surprised to have been called. Usually, he does not feel the tug of summoning until he has been fully awoken by the buzzing in the deck of the other monsters raring for battle, and he watches from his place in the stack of cards as his masters fight their hardest, until it's his turn to appear and protect them.
Of course, it's been several years since he has had masters, plural.
He wonders, when he looks down at the exhausted young man's face, if that fact is the reason he has been called out from the deck so late at night.
Yugi sits on the edge of the bed with a haggard look in his eyes, his hair mussed and matted to his face. His hands rest heavy on the Duel Disk that sits across his knees, foot tapping incessantly on the ground. The Dark Magician can see his own card slid into place, the circuits gleaming with the technology that allowed him to step onto this plane in his holographic form.
He tilts his head at his master, and Yugi swallows.
"Sorry to wake you," he mumbles. "I...I couldn't sleep."
He waves a hand vaguely.
"It's so quiet without him," he mumbles. "I mean...not that he was loud, but..."
Dark Magician's heart aches. His master is lonely. He understands. Dark Magician misses him too.
He moves forward and sits down on the bed beside him. He is only a hologram, but he thanks Kaiba silently for creating this technology that allows him to be able to touch his master. Yugi flinches at first at the strange, staticy feel of his touch, but then he is melting against him, his head sliding against his shoulder as the Dark Magician pulls him close.
I'm here, he wants to say, but he has no voice in this world.
Yugi lets out a long, low sigh, and melts against him.
Even if he can't say it out loud, Dark Magician knows that Yugi understands.
"Thank you," Yugi whispers.
. . .
A/N: I could actually go for this ship tbh. Next is Akinshipping (Sugoroku x Ryouta).
