Day six of not knowing who the fuck is reading my fanfic, thanks to the website being buggy as a goddamn Bethesda game. But that's okay, I love writing this so that never was an issue to begin with.

Author's notes will be at the bottom, along with going over reviews. This chapter will be introducing Eto as a more prevalent character than how she's been so far.

Please enjoy!

It had been a week since he had crawled in and out of the nightmarish depths of the now destroyed Vault 973, and the traumatic memories of the horrors he had survived were weighing heavy on Kaneki's mind. Night after night, Kaneki would wake up drenched with sweat, after reliving the moments where he barely escaped the Tormentor, or when he had suffered being trapped momentarily in the 'Otherworld'.

It had gotten to the point where Kaneki was carrying himself day-to-day feeling sluggish, and would occasionally pass out for a few minutes every time he sat down to rest. Kuzen had noticed this when Kaneki told the elder ghoul of his horrific tale of survival and trying to save Yūgao; something that he still felt guilty over for failing to bring her back the way she once was.

Yūgao, who had been reaching the six-hour time limit that the super stimpak would have been ineffective, was injected with the expired black-hibiscus from over seventy years ago. Although she had been resuscitated and brought back from the dead, it wasn't without cost. The super stimpak was able to regenerate her damaged tissues, muscles, bones and veins, but the nerve damage she had received from getting her thighs pierced by the talons of a humanoid owl monstrosity had been made permanent.

No amount of medicinal practices or healing jutsu from her own people could help her get out of the wheelchair she was bound to. Although she was devastated that her days as an Anu were over, credit where it was due, Yūgao seemed determined when she finally accepted that she'd have to begin her journey through physical therapy, so that one day she would be able to walk with a cane. And even though she was eternally grateful for what Kaneki went through to save her, the one-eyed ghoul still felt awful that Yūgao's kunoichi-days were behind her.

On top of having Yūgao's disability on his conscious, Kaneki still ponder each passing day if he made the right decision in saving the ex-leader of the same group of raiding ghouls, who had been the reason behind why the kunoichi had gone out into the wasteland with him in the first place. Kuzen praised him for showing mercy to his enemy, and commemorated him for showing restraint when dragging her from the smoke-filled vault.

By saving Miza, Kaneki had allowed for the one responsible behind the deaths of his own soldiers to be spared— and it angered Yūgao, and quite a few others in GOAT who wanted vengeance against the Blades. Although Kuzen reminded Kaneki that the right choice wasn't always the most popular one to choose, it still didn't make Kaneki feel any better knowing that a part of his faction was questioning his leadership.

Being told by the psychiatrist that Hide made him seek instructed and express his frustrations and pent-up stress from all the trauma he had accumulated in a healthy way, Kaneki at first thought about merely writing his feelings into a personal journal. However, a thought came across his mind about Eto— an aspiring writer who had shown interest before of his journeys outside the protective walls of Tokyo.

So, dressed in his black sweater and some grey sweats, Kaneki took his seat down on the couch within the Yoshimura residence, and got comfortable while Eto booted her laptop on her lap. Sitting down on the brown-leather recliner that was positioned an arm's length away from the couch's armrest that Kaneki was using as a pillow, Eto had on her large red-framed glasses on, and wore an oversized band t-shirt with a pair of pajama bottoms on.

Requesting that Kaneki described how he felt upon stumbling onto the rusted vault door that had been claimed by nature, Eto's fingers rifled away at her laptop's keyboard, as she typed her words into the document on her screen. Comparing Kaneki's descent down into the bowels of Vault 973 to how Dante and Vergil made their way down into the nine circles of Hell, Eto wrote in great detail of how Kaneki fought his way through the rustic ruins of a decayed underground city, and his daring escape from the Tormentor and the tendrils of the 'slender man'.

Pausing after Kaneki had fully described the feeling of dread he felt while under the effects of the black hibiscus spores, Eto finished what she was typing before asking, "Kaneki… When you gazed into this realm— this realm of the lost… What did you see?"

"I… I had a dream… It must have been a dream, at least— it didn't feel that way at the moment. Rather… Everything seemed so surreal, and even thinking back on it now, I… I couldn't tell you if it was real, or if it was just a hallucination," Kaneki explained, as he remembered what he saw while being surrounded in the forest of fog and silhouettes. Swallowing back the lump in his throat as he stared up at the white ceiling above, Kaneki felt a chill run up his spine as he remembered the rawest form of primal fear that had been coursing through his veins.

"Seeing that thing, it… It reminded me of when I was attacked by Kamishiro— all the way down the way it grabbed my ankle and dragged me against the ground. Even so, I… With Kamishiro, I was afraid of dying, but… But with that monster… I was… It was the first time… The first… That I was truly scared… Shook with fear… Fear of what the alternative to dying would have been, had that thing pulled me any closer to it…"

Typing away at her keyboard while eating up the way Kaneki's voice trembled while speaking in a low and methodical way, Eto nodded her head as she transcribed the one-eyed ghoul's experience. "Ah, how ghastly… Fascinating even, if you don't mind me saying," Eto mused aloud to Kaneki, before taking a moment to review the pagefulls of paragraphs she had written. "And the voice… The one who spoke to you— who claimed to be God. Did it… Did it mention anything about the door? What was written on it?"

Squinting his eyelids and gently biting down on his lower lip, Kaneki did his best to recall the sinister, yet angelic, words spoken to him, and had to think for a good few minutes before finally somewhat remembering what was said to him. "She… She said her name was Kaguya Ōtsutsuki, which is… Which is some sort of ninsū religious figure, if I remember right. She… She also called me a 'begotten child', and asked me if I wanted to meet my father… A father who… Who I, according to what she told me, was carrying the burden of his sins… Whatever that meant…"

"I see, I see…" Eto murmured beneath her breath, as she wrote down what Kaneki had told her. "And, this is a personal question that's completely off the record, sooooo… Only answer if you're comfortable with answering it," Eto said with a respectful tone and a serious expression on her face, as she lowered her laptop's monitor down, so that she could gaze down at the top of Kaneki's head of slightly-unkempt black hair.

"Kaneki… Have you ever met your father, or know anything about him?" Eto asked with a reassuring demeanor, before following her question up with, "Again: you're not obligated to ask, and I won't write the answer down in my book without your permission. I'm just… Curious, is all— you and Sasaki share the same father, right?"

"That's… That's still up for debate, I'm afraid," Kaneki said with a soft chuckle, as neither he nor Haise actually knew which parent they shared, as with Yusa's case as well. "As far as my father goes, I… I don't think I've actually ever met the guy, let alone even know who he or my actual mother are," Kaneki replied back with a sudden feeling of curiosity, as he flipped around on his stomach, so that he could stare back into Eto's green eyes. "I vaguely remember having conversations with my adoptive mother about who my father was… She always said something along the lines of him being dead, and that it didn't matter who he was."

"Wow… Harsh," Eto mused half-jokingly in an attempt to lighten the mood, before clearing her throat after realizing that she had just come off as insensitive. "Sorry… That was rude of me to say. I… I'd like to imagine that perhaps she told you that for, uhh… Maybe for a reason?" Eto hypothesized, before momentarily opening her laptop to save the progress of her story.

Watching as the half-ghoul closed the lid of her laptop before leaning forward to set it down on the kotatsu in front of the couch, Kaneki slowly got up from his lying position. Sitting upright with his elbow resting on the armrest of the couch, Kaneki smiled softly at Eto before waving his hand casually to dismiss the worry she had of offending him. "It's fine, my mother, she… She was something else, that's for sure… And yeah, maybe… Maybe it was for the best that I never found out who my father was; from what Haise told me about Sunlit Gardens, well… I probably wouldn't particularly like the answer that she was probably keeping from me…"

"… What about your mother, Ukina? How was she?" Kaneki asked before really thinking much about how personal his question was, and soon regretted asking the moment he saw Eto visibly flinch from hearing her deceased mother's name spoken aloud. "… I'm… I'm deeply sorry if that upset you, Yoshimura. I didn't realize that—"

"— H-Hey, it's fine— really, it is," Eto interjected with an uneasy smile on her face, before leaning back in the recliner while letting out a deep breath. "I mean… I asked you about your father, so it's only fair that you get to ask about my mother, isn't it? Hehe… Heh." Eto mused with a humorless chuckle, while seeming visibly saddened, although she did try her hardest to hide it behind a small smile.

Smacking her lips, Eto's smile became uncomfortable and her eyes averted away from Kaneki so she could stare up at the ceiling to focus on holding back the tears in her eyes. "Mom, she… She was an amazing woman. Confident, funny, never took herself too seriously but knew her worth— you couldn't find a more selfless person than her, even if you tried."

Smiling respectfully as Eto reminisced about how much of a saint her mother was, Kaneki nodded his head softly. "From what your father has told me, Ukina was a really one of a kind sort of woman… I haven't gotten the chance to say this, and I'm not sure how much it's worth coming from someone like me, but… I'm sorry… I'm sorry that she isn't around anymore— I think she would have really been proud of you."

Snickering dryly at Kaneki's sentiment, Eto flashed a sad grin at the one-eyed ghoul before asking in a hollow voice, "Is… Is that what you really think?"

Having not been expecting such an abrupt answer in the form of a question, Kaneki's smile wavered slightly as he continued to stare back at Eto, who was still looking up at the ceiling to avoid having to look into his eyes. "Of course… Why wouldn't I think that? You're no different from the way you described your mother being, Yoshimura; you're enigmatic, and stunning…"

Scoffing at how highly Kaneki thought of her, Eto shook her head at the way he described her before chuckling humorlessly. "It's sweet that you have a high opinion of me, Kaneki… But none of it is true— no matter how much I'd like for that to not be the case," Eto objected, while taking in another deep breath. "Kaneki… I'm nothing like how my mother was, I… I just try to look that way in front of everyone. But… But what good is a cheap imitation like me, who can't even pull that off?"

Furrowing his brows at how lowly Eto saw herself, Kaneki leaned in closer toward the armrest and toward her direction while frowning. "You're being too hard on yourself, Yoshimura. The way I see it, you're extremely charming, easy to be around— magnetic, even. I've read your short stories, and I absolutely find myself entranced and lost within the words you draft… You're talented, intelligent, and strong— even if you can't see that, I can, and so can everyone else who's got half a brain."

"Yeah? And the way I see it, I'm a twenty-eight year old virgin who masturbates way too much, lives with her geriatric father like the leach that I am, and is addicted to the internet and feeling sorry as shit for herself," Eto argued once again, while completely being oblivious to way that Kaneki's eyes widen upon hearing her casually mentioning her masturbation habits. "I used to be exactly how you described Kaneki: daring, heroic, and I fought for the freedom of all of those who were trapped in the 'bird-cage' that CCG had built around society…"

"… That eighteen-year old woman is who you were describing, not me, and she died the day her mother was shot in the head by a coward… What you're looking at is just a mere shadow of the strong woman who she once was," Eto said dramatically with a half-cocked smirk across her pink lips, as she gestured at herself. "… Did I mention that I like to whine a lot? I'm pretty good at it, actually… It's one of my hidden talents: I could do it for hours…!"

Seeing the joking smile on Eto's face as she played her woes off with that same charming smile that made Kaneki feel warm on the inside, the one-eyed ghoul couldn't help but find himself smirking from just how infectious the half-ghoul's sense of cynical humor was. "… I still stand by what I said, about you being too hard on yourself… Besides, I for one wouldn't mind lending you an ear to listen to your frustrations."

"Pfft…! Again, you're sweet as hell, Kaneki! But alas, I'm too hungry to bitch and moan right now," Eto complained jokingly, while reaching down to playfully pat her stomach as a way to signal to Kaneki that she actually was in the mood for food. "Say, you know what? I'm feeling pretty 'not-like-shit' right now… You drove here with your car, right?"

"Yeah, like I usually do… Why? Are you feeling up to going out for a bit?" Kaneki asked with a slightly excited glimmer behind his eyeglasses, as he himself couldn't help but to perk up at the idea of going on an outing with the beautiful green-haired woman made him feel visibly happy.

"Eh, I guess I wouldn't mind 'touching some grass', as the kids say nowadays, hehe, haha!" Eto mused with a laugh, as she shook her head at herself while finally staring down from the ceiling to stare deeply into Kaneki's red and grey eyes. "Granted, I'm broke as shit, so if you're fine donating to the charity case that's sitting beside you, then consider me your date for the rest of the evening, Kaneki!"

Feeling his cheeks heating up and his lips curling into a goofy smile, Kaneki chuckled beneath his breath as he felt his heart pounding in his chest. "For you, Yoshimura, I'd gladly spend my money for you to be my date…!"

Finding Kaneki's flirtatious comment to be cute more so than anything else, Eto giggled before playfully socking the one-eyed ghoul on his shoulder. "That's cheesy as hell, Kaneki— you're like the silly younger brother that I wish I had!" Eto said with a laugh, while getting up from her recliner— being completely oblivious to the look of disappointment on Kaneki's face, after being referred to as her 'little brother'.

"… And you're like the cool and funny older sister that I always wanted too!" Kaneki said with a toothy grin, while raising his free hand up to grab a hold of his chin. 'Little brother?! LITTLE BROTHER?!? WHY, WHY, WHY, WHY?!?' Kaneki wailed angrily with sorrow in his head, all while maintaining a happy smile on his face, as he got up to get ready alongside Eto— the two of them getting set to go on the he closet thing Kaneki was going to get to going on a 'date' with her.

And there we have it, Eto has self-confidence issues that were born from the depression she's had since her mother died. In the canon version, Eto 'left all chances for happiness in the womb' or something along the lines of that. In this AU, she was more like her canon self without the sadistic and cruel tendencies, and was full of life and was proud of the cause she was fighting for.

All that confidence and sense of adventure died when her mother was murdered by Tatara, and she and her father had their own ways of trying to cope with their losses. So she still has her moments of being silly, fun, and has an interest in writing, she just doesn't have the self-confidence or esteem to be like how she used to be. She's 'NEET', so of course she's addicted to the internet and pornography in general, and lives romance through fiction.

She'll be a big sister role to Kaneki, while eventually becoming his waifu and developing a 'big sister, little brother' taboo fetish, as she would more than likely be the one dominating him in bed at first, or when she becomes more comfortable.

The series of slices of life will mostly revolve around Haise getting closer to Touka and Ryouko, while Kaneki will mostly be interacting with Eto and the twins, while of course adding a few 'mini arcs', such as the Halloween parties and other characters from both Tokyo Ghoul and Naruto being involved with the two brothers as well.

Also I'm going to introduce Yusa before the Brotherhood of Steel arc, who will be in character as both Yusa and Joker, from Persona 5. He'll have a sense of justice , courage, loyal, and is a tactician at heart (Traits that both Kaneki and Haise both have), but will also show a lack of interest in being violent (Opposite to Haise), and is more interested in movies than the books they're based on (Opposite of Kaneki). Kaneki simps for Eto and his fiancés, Haise loves sex, and Yusa is indifferent to it— he'll do it if he likes the girl enough, and does pull in girls, but he also never really obsesses over it like Kaneki and Haise (Kaneki loves romance, Haise does too, but is more down to fuck than anything else).

Mutsuki is straight, due to his 'I hate women' thing from canon, but he is more interested in having Ryouko be a platonic mother to him. However, Mutuski knows how Haise is, and doesn't try to keep him all to himself, he just wants to hand pick the women who he hooks up with— only if it benefits Mutsuki's goal of building the family he always wanted, but never got.

Haise will be giving Touka a ride in the next chapter, and they'll talk but won't really try to romance one another at first. Seeing how Haise loves petite women who are tomboys, and in this AU Haise has a secret thing for dark-skinned girls, Mutsuki will be described as looking more like Fū than his short-bang self. And after two weeks, Haise will finally go back to living at his own place, and will sleep with Mutsuki before spending the rest of the night with Juuzou (Who I'll have to write more into the story, since he's technically Haise's best friend and futa).

Thank you for that extremely helpful list of milfs and girls that Yusa or anyone else can be paired with, and I think I'll have Hinami shipped with Kaneki after all. Seems right. I'll be using them all, I hope. Juuzou might end up going steady with one of them, especially if it's a femboy or someone… Might even sh- Yeah, Juuzou x Astfolo. That's the shit right there.

Roma probably was told by the network admin of the psyche ward of what was sent to her, and Rize definitely saw the video Mutsuki sent them. Rize and Roma probably still want Haise, but are definitely hurt and don't trust him; which tends to happen to him a lot. Haise is a lot of things in this, but he definitely wouldn't throw anyone under the bus, so he wouldn't risk Kaneki's relationships or Yusa's trust by blaming them for his own thing. Would he try to play it off like it was an old thing? Absolutely, but he wouldn't pass the blame to anyone.

Yusa's like, half a foot shorter than Kaneki, who's a few inches shorter than Haise, so it would be hard to mistake them up close. Saiko would definitely hug Haise, but then be disappointed once she realized it was Yusa. And Haru being attracted to Haise is definitely one sided, because like I said before, having Haise mess around with anyone who's under eighteen is definitely sus, since he's twenty one so far. Kaneki could get a pass for Hinami, but that's about it.

Not sure if Saiko would smash Urie or Haise, tho. Let me know what you think of that. Also, I would love to implement characters who aren't Japanese, so I could show how Tokyo became a melting pot of Western culture and Eastern culture as well, so please recommend more women of non-oriental background pls, lol. I need help with that.

As of now, Haise is probably done trying to get into relationships, and is probably going to go back into having sex with women and then avoiding them afterward, or making it clear that he's not looking for anything serious. Or at least, he'll try to. And yeah, we'll definitely see Rize's toxic side, when she tries to claim her man from Mutsuki, and spams his phone with sex messages and apologies— trying to guilt him into coming back to her.

And I love that Shrek 2 reference Lmao. If only I could add Shrek and Fiona, or just Princess Fiona— her thicc green milf ass can get it, lowkey.

And damn, I should have Yusa be that way, where he never states his actual age and just goes 'old enough'. And definitely would love to add Dragonball Z characters into this, with the exception that they would have to be nerfed like the EVAs, to prevent them from being too OP. I mean, hell, Kaguya is in the story, I don't see why Goku and Vegeta couldn't be. Vegeta would be part of the Enclave for sure, and Goku would probably just be a powerful 'sayan', who has chakra and was trained on Turtle Island by Master Roshi— completely unaware of the past ten years of what happened to Japan. Goku would just be excited to be able to have targets to fight, and probably would join his friends and be reunited with his family, who he had been neglecting for the past ten years, all for the sake of becoming 'Earth's Defender'. Master Roshi could even state that Goku's been training for the day that Kaguya comes back.

Lowkey, Roshi and Jiraiya would be bros.

Kaneki is getting on Eto's good side as we speak.

Eto definitely wouldn't have an easy time with the Tormentor, even with her kakuja. And does Takizawa have a sister? If not, then that's cool too, but I definitely will be giving him one who will hit on Haise later. Loved that you gave me a lot of good ideas, thank you, thank you.

Okay that does it for now, have a damn good day!
