"Stop standing there and walk through the doorway." Frisk tell me as they go to run through the doorway. I grab their arm stopping them. They look up at me and tilt their head.
"What is it Rachel?" I point at the room with the golden flowers.
"I saw some torches, so I'm gonna grab one before we go." Frisk nods in understanding. I smile and run back into the room. I go over to the nearest torch and pick it up from it's spot on the wall. I could feel the heat from the flames, but -interestingly enough- it was only warm, not the burning hot you would normally feel. I run back over to Frisk with my torch equipped... Equipped? That's a weird way to explain it, but it works. Frisk smiles at me, they hold up a stick.
"I found this while you were busy grabbing the torch" I nod and turn towards the doorway.
"Let's go." Frisk turns towards me with a goofy grin.
"Ladies first~" I roll my eyes as a grin make it's way onto my face. Though, I do oblige and walk through the doorway. Frisk walks up right beside me before pausing. I then pause too and turn to see what stopped them. There was a tiny yellow flower in front of us. Why would they stop for a flower? I go to grab Frisk's arm to pull them onward when a face appears on the flower. I jump, startled by the face smiling brightly at me, completely ignoring Frisk. I felt so creeped out my adrenaline started running through my veins.
"Hello human! I've never seen you around here before!" That was the final straw for me.
Poor flower, they didn't deserve the pain I put them through.
I ran up to the flower as fast as I could, catching the flower off guard. I swing my torch down at them as hard as I could, so not only did they get a big bruise on the side of their face, they were now burning alive. They screech in pain and burrow under the ground causing footsteps to come from the other side of the room. I look up to see a huge goat-human-thing run at us with a look of fear, probably from the screams. The monster -I feel like it's the best way to describe the thing- looks down at the spot where the flower was then sighed when they noticed me.
"Such a terrible creature, torturing such poor, innocent youth." The woman -or at least, I think they're female- looks down at me and Frisk. I was terrified and could feel the color draining from my face. I mean like, I did just murder a living flower, and she did look at me the moment she said that so like, who wouldn't? The woman gasps when she sees me.
"My child! Are you okay? Here." She holds out her hand for me to take. Frisk looks over their shoulder at me, then grabs the woman's hand.
"I'll take your hand instead, because my friend would prefer to cling onto me." The woman nods at this information and smiles at me. She turns around and walks through a hallway, Frisk and me following her. This room was full of purples of all kinds, there was a gray sign by a purple door and there were gray buttons on the floor.
"This is one of the many puzzles in the ruins, I'll do it for you two though, so you won't have to worry about them." The woman steps on four of the buttons on the floor and walks over to a golden lever, flipping it. The purple door opens and the woman walks through. I lean closer to Frisk.
"She hasn't introduced herself yet." I whisper in their ear. Frisk nods and looks up at the woman.
"I just realized we haven't introduced ourselves yet." The woman gasps and covers her mouth with two fluffy paws.
"You're right! I'm so sorry children, I'm Toriel, caretaker of the ruins." Frisk looks back me expectantly and I give a small wave to Toriel. Toriel smiles and waves back.
"I'm Frisk and this is my friend, Rachel." Toriel nods and continues walking. After a while, she left us to go do something. I wanted to stay put, but Frisk wanted to explore. Frisk started walking off and I quickly follow them. We make it to a room with three piles of red leaves. I notice a monster next to me and jump before freezing. IT'S SO CUTE! I fling myself at the little frog monster making them squeak. They squirm as I hug them lovingly. Frisk was off in one of the piles of leaves, sitting there for a moment before turning towards the room next to me.
