Andy came through the door and to her surprise the lights were still on. She had told Robert she would sleep over at Mayas and just at the last second she decided to go home as Ben offered to give her a ride. She hadńt drunk a lot but she didńt want to drive anymore. But it seemed like Robert was still up as she heard noices coming from their bedroom upstairs. Andy hang up her jacket on the coat rag next to the door, slipped out of her shoes and made her way up the stairs. Halfway up the stairs she slowed down. Was that the voice of a women? Her heart started beating faster but she slowly made her way up the stairs along the corridor to the front of the bedroom door that was just a tiny bit open. The closer she had come, the more she could hear the voice of a women, a women she didn't know. And as she stood in front of the door, she now could understand every single word they said.

Women: „Oh chief, this ... is sooo good."

Andy felt like heart stopped as she peaked through the open crack and could see him. And her. They were both naked exploring each other's body's. Her heart dropped to the floor at that sight and for a minute or so she couldn't move, she couldn't look away. Unnoticed by the women and by her husband she stand frozen in the hallway before she could catch a breath again. As silent as she could she backed away from the door all the way to the top of the stairs where nothing could hold her back anymore and she started running down the stairs. She grabbed her things, a jacket and a pair of shoes but she didn't even bother to put them on, she had to keep running, so she ran to her car on her socks and pulled out of their driveway as fast as she could. When she was on the road her tears started streaming down uncontrollably blurring her vision but pulling over was not an option for her, she had to get as far away as she possibly could. She didn't know where she was or where she was going but to her surprise she hadn't crashed yet, not that she really cared right now. Her tears ran out and all she was left with was this ache that spread from her chest through her entire body. Eventually she pulled over at a rest stop pulled out her phone to look up where the hell she even was. She was in a small town about two hours out of Seattle and she decided to find a motel for now. Her body ached, she had a headache from crying and was tired as if she had just finished working a double shift.

When she got inside her motel room she let herself fall onto the slightly disgusting sheets on the bed. How had that happened and how did she end up here? Why did Robert sleep with another women? Andy couldn't find any answers to her questions but she couldn't stop. She laid in bed, walked around the room, went to the bathroom occasionally never stopping to think about how her husband had just cheated on her. He thought she wouldńt be home that night and took advantage of her absence with another women. Did he love that women? Did he love her more than he loved her? Did he even still loved her? The sun came up and went down a couple times without Andy ever leaving that room. Her phone had died a long time ago and she didn't bother to go out to buy a charger. She was still wearing the same clothes, still wondering about the same questions she had when she was standing in front of what used to be their bedroom and saw him, her safest place with another women. These scenes kept playing in her mind and she couldn't stop them for days.

When she woke up, the sun was slowly rising. She wanted to bury her head into the pillows and fall back into sleep, where she was still happily married but she knew she couldn't hide out any longer, hell she didn't even know for how long she had been here. It could have been days or weeks, there was no way of telling anymore. She had to get up and back to reality, even when that was the last thing she wanted to do but she was a firefighter she could fight this too. Maybe. Andy made her way to the shower and put her clothes back on afterwards, they were a little smelly but she didn't have anything else. She got into her car and drove to a supermarket that was just down the road, got a charger and walked over to a little diner. As she plugged in her phone waiting for her food, the date on her phone suprised her to say the least. She had been here for 8 days? How had that much time passed. But she didn't have many memories of those days and they were all just a haze. When the food arrived she dig into it wondering what or how much she had eaten, as she barely remembered any meals. She remembered some pizza and throwing up pizza. While eating she went through all the text messages and missed calls and she felt bad for leaving everyone so worried. She decided to sent one message to everyone: I'm sorry i didn't answer, i didn't t have a charger but I am fine, no need to worry. I'll be back soon.

Was she? Was she gonna go back, to Seattle where her cheating husband?

Robert too had left her Messages but she couldn't read through those. Just seeing his name on the screen made her eyes fill with tears and she didn't plan to break down in this diner. As she finished her food she got up from her place, ready to leave but nausea hit her and she stood still trying her best not to throw up. The room started spinning around her and everything became dark.

D: „Mrs. Herrera? Are you awake?"

A: „Uhm, What? Yea. I'm... I'm awake."

D: „You fainted at a diner, you were dehydrated and some levels were quite low. We gave you some IVs but you need to take better care of you two."

A: „Two?" Andy was confused, did she hear that doctor right or was she still a little groggy.

D: „Yes, you and your baby."

A: „My what?" She sat up straight in the bed within seconds.

D: „Uhm... I'm sorry Mrs. Herrera, i figured you already know since you are already at 11 weeks."

A: „I... No, I didn't "

D: „Well, we also called your husband who is your emergency contact, he said he would arrive in maybe an hour. So i suggest you take some rest before he gets here and you can tell him your news. We can probably release you tomorrow."

And with that the doctor left her alone in a hospital room. Panic and fear made their way through her body. She unhooked the ECG took out her IV line, changed as fast as she could and grabbed the back with her other belongings from the nightstand. Carefully she peaked out the door and luckily for her the floor was empty, with her head down she hurried out of the hospital, finding her way back to the diner and her car. She got out of the parking lot and out of the town Robert would be in soon. Heading south she decided to give her father a call.

P: „Andy? Oh thank god. Where are you? Are you really okay?"

A: „Daaad, I'm fine. I'm sorry i just took off i didn't want to worry you."

P: „What happened Mija? And where are you now?"

A: „It's over dad... my marriage is done. I dońt wanna talk about it now though"

P: „Well, where are you?"

A: „Uhm i was in some little town, i forgot the name honestly but I'm heading south now. Dad... I'm not coming back."

P: „WHAT?"

A: „I cańt come back to Seattle dad. I'm not sure where I am heading yet but i will let you know, i promise."

P: „Andy, are you serious about this?"

A: „Yes."

P: „I have an old friend in the Boulder Fire department, he owes me. I can call him and get you a job."

A: „Really dad? I... okey."

P: „I'll call you back after okey? I love you Mija. Drive careful."

A: „I love you to papi."

She hang up. „Well, seems like the two of us are heading to Colorado." she said quietly.

She unlocked the door to her new Apartment and entered. She stood in the middle of the room. So this would be her new Home. Andys dad came walking in carrying the first box with her stuff, after a days of traveling to Colorado she had stayed in a Hotel for two weeks before she had found a permanent place. In the mean time her dad was packing up all of her things in Seattle and getting them transported all the way to Colorado. She had lived in Seattle all of her life but here she was now. Thousands of miles away from home, finding a new home and building a new life. Tomorrow she would be starting at the new station and she was looking forward to working again even if she would be on desk duty which would probably get boring quite fast.

Pruitt: „First box is in." he sat it down on the kitchen counter. „The guys will bring everything up and i told them to start with the couch so you can sit down." Of course he didn't just let them do their job, he always had to be in control.

A: „Dad, Ím only 3 months, i can stand longer than 10 minutes." she chuckled.

The movers got all the stuff up and put the furniture together. Pruitt was staying another day before he headed back to Seattle the evening before Andys first job. That night she laid in her bed and she was still in shock just how much her life had changed within 3 weeks but this was her new beginning and she was as ready as she could be. But something was missing or better someone. The bed was too big and too empty without Robert in it too and falling asleep without laying in his arms was almost unbearable. Andy pulled up her shirt and put her hand on the little baby bump that was now there. No matter how much he had hurt her she would never let that happen to their baby, her baby, it wasn't his.

Andy shut her car door and walked into the station heading to her locker.

Drew: „Herrera, Good morning."

Andy: „Morning Drew."

Even though she had been in the station for about 5 months now she hadn't really made friends with anyone. They were all nice people but she shut herself off and preferred to keep it professional.

Drew: „When are you due again?"

Andy: „Got another four weeks ahead of me."

Drew: „Uf, honestly you look like you are about the pop."

Andy put her hand on the side of her stomach looking down. She could clearly feel something running down her legs and she knew she just did pop but this couldn't happen now, she still had four weeks.

Drew: „Omg Herrera did you just...?"

Andy: „Pop? Yes"

Drew: „Uhm okey no worries, I'll grab Conner and we will get you to the hospital."

Andy: „Okey." she said breathing through a contraction and feeling the panic rise inside.

Drew: „Should I call someone?"

Andy: „No."

Drew: „No baby daddy?"

Andy: „He's... not in the picture."

Drew: „Oh, uhm... okey... well, let's get going."

She hadn't really shared anything with her colleagues. All they knew was that she was from Seattle and her dad still lived there, everything else she had kept to herself. The other firefighters at the station never really warmed up to her but Andy never cared about that, she didn't want to get close to anyone.

Doctor: „It's time to push now."

Andy: „No i can't! I'm not ready. I can't do this without him." The sweat was dripping down her face, she was exhausted and wasn't sure how much longer she could bare the pain. All she wanted was to have Robert by her side.

Doctor: „We don't have time to wait for anyone. You gotta push now!"

Andy: „I can't." she sobbed.

Nurse: „Come on, you got this. You wanna hold your little baby in your arms right? If you don't start pushing you are comprising its health. So you gotta do this now. Here you can squeeze my hand."

With the encouraging words and the fear for her baby she gathered all her strength and started pushing.

After the last push she could hear the cries and she fell on her back exhausted.

Doctor: „Congratulations, You got a little girl."

She got handed her baby and as she looked into the face of her little girl tears were rolling down her face. There was no denying she looked just like Robert and her heart ached for him. She never wanted to admit it to herself, but she still missed him and she still loved him even after what he had put her through.

Andy: „Okey Elle, Let's visit papi." she said to her baby as she got settled in her window seat on the plane. She was filled with excitement because it felt like she was going home, finally but she was nervous too. Nervous that she might see him and even though she wanted nothing else but to fall into his arms she would stay far away from him. She had too. Because if he would let her down again there was no way she would be able to get up for a second time.

As she walked out of the gate she saw her dad already waiting.

P: „Hey Mija" he gave her a hug. „And is that my favorite granddaughter?" he said to Elle as he took her out of the stroller to hold her.

A: „Dad" she said laughing. „You only have one granddaughter."

P: „Well she doesn't know that."

They got everything loaded into his car and made their way out of the airport. On the drive home Andy looked out of the window and took everything in, she didn't want to miss a single thing. She was finally home again.

A few days later:

A: „Dad?"

P: „Yes?"

A: „I'm gonna take Elle on a walk, we need some fresh air. We will be back soon."

P: „Okey, Be safe."

Pushing the stroller in front of her she made her way to the park.

When she walked around the corner she almost bumped into someone and their eyes locked immediately. Even after a year and all the pain he had put her through she felt the fire lightning up inside her as she got lost in his eyes again. They had been married for only a few years before she came home that night finding him with another women in their bedroom but up until that day every time they laid eyes on each other there was this fire like they were just falling in love, as if it was still new and they hadn't promised themselves to each other yet. And even after a year Andy still felt the flames shooting up inside her at the pure sight of him, the man who had broken her trust, in everything and everyone. After seconds, that felt like hours, of staring into each other's eyes, getting lost in them, the sound of a baby crying brought Roberts attention to the baby stroller in front of her. Andy could see a shift in his expression but she wasn't able to read him any more and she didn't know what he was feeling or thinking at that moment. She didn't come back for him, actually she had been quite scared too accidentally bump into him but she was only in Seattle to visit her dad and they made sure to stay away from the station or his home to avoid it. But now there paths have crossed in a park far way from his usual places. „Is that...? You... Is that your baby?" he asked, barely able to form his question. But Andy hesitated to answer because she didn't know what to tell him or what she wanted. If he knew it was his little girl he would want to be a part of her life for sure, or actually, maybe he wanted nothing to do with them. After all she had no idea what he had been up to this past year, all her father told her that he was still the battalion chief but didn't hang around Station 19 as much anymore after Andy had just run off. „Andy, what are you doing in Seattle? When did you come back? Are you staying? Why didn't you return any of my calls or texts?" he kept asking questions when Andy didn't make a move to answer his first ones. „I changed my number." was all she had as an answer for him in that moment. „Well you still could have given me a call, i wanted to explain things to you so badly and i didn't even get a chance to do so. Okey, I know you walked in on my that night and i didn't hear you but your dad told me and all i want is a chance to make it up to you because i dońt know why i did that in the first place but i for sure didn't want to hurt you." he blurted out without catching a breath. „But you did." Andy said and a tear was already rolling down her cheek even though she was trying her hardest not to start crying over this man in a street full of people. „Why didn't you reply to my letters?" he asked. „What letters?" Andy got confused, she never got any letters and how could she, he didn't even have her address. „Your dad said he would sent them to you." now realizing that of course Pruitt hadńt, he was trying to protect his daughter. From him. „You believed my dad?" she said with a little chuckle in her voice while her body relaxed a little. „Yea, well I guess that wasn't the best idea." Their mood lightened and both loosened up a little but Robert had to ask again. „Andy, Is this your baby?". She looked around for an escape but then took a deep breath. She didn't know what how he was gonna react and if or how he would want to be a part of her life but he wanted it to be his choice and not hers. „Yes this is my little girl Elle." she paused for a second to get all her courage before continuing. „Our little girl." She looked in his eyes and couldn't really believe the way his eyes light up with so much love and excitement, but she could also see the pain over the loss of the time with his daughter. When he walked around that corner she couldn't read him at all but after just a few minutes he was the same Robert again that she could read so easily under any circumstance. „Can i maybe hold her?". Andy loosened her grip of the stroller, she had hold on to it as if her life depended, picked up her little girl and carefully handed her into Roberts arms. He looked at Elle and knew he would never let her go. „Andy, listen." he took his eyes of the baby girl and stepped closer to Andy to take her hand into his free one. „I wanna be in her live and I wanna be in yours too. I know i have to rebuilt the trust i broke but you are still my wife and i still love you with all my heart, i never stopped. And either you sent me divorce papers that got lost in the mail or you wereńt ready to let me go either. Because i am not ready. You and Elle are all i ever wanted and i will fight for you. I love you Andy." It felt as if her heart dropped to the floor listening to his words and getting lost in his eyes. Because he was right, even when he had destroyed her and she had to get herself out of that motel bed all by herself, the feelings never stopped even when they were overshadowed by anger. Andy couldn't just forget what he had done but maybe she was ready to start rebuilding the relationship that had crumbled to pieces in one single night. There was no denying that after a year of pain he had caused she was still in love with him. She got closer to him and he pulled her arm around her in a hug trying to make her feel as safe as he could. „I still need time Robert. The way i feel for you hasn't changed but you destroyed me and I'm still puzzling all the pieces together but yes there's a reason why i never filed a divorce i guess. I want this to work but we got to take it slow." He tilted his head and placed a kiss on her forehead, so soft and short that she knew he was ready to do what ever it took so they could find their way back to each other
