Ana POV

My whole body hurts. I can hear Christian sobbing, but I can't force my eyes to open. I can feel him stroking my fingers. "Ana, please! Ana! I need you!" he cries.

"Mr. Grey give her some time. Her heart is beating strong. She's a fighter. Ana has never been one to give up on. If anyone can pull out of this it will be her Sir," Taylor tells him. The burning in my chest is unbearable and after a few moments the pain takes over and I'm out again.

Ana POV

I feel the fog over me lighten this time. I attempt to open my eyes and they respond to my request. I'm surprised to see Taylor sitting next my bed. I look down at my hand and see that Taylor has grasped it. I decide to try my voice. "Where's Christian?" I rasp. Taylor's eyes shoot to mine.

"Welcome back Mrs. Grey! He'll be right back he ran to the restroom," he replies smiling. I squeeze his hand glad that he's stayed with me. "Sorry Mrs. Grey," he says attempting to let go of my hand.

"No Taylor, please. It's very reassuring. Thank you," I confess. "Taylor, can you call the doctor? The burning, it's too much. Please," I explain starting to hyperventilate from the pain. I squeeze his hand harder trying to control my facial expressions. I know Christian will be back soon and I need to appear to be held together when he returns.

"Yes Mrs. Grey. Hold on," he comforts me placing his other hand on my upper shoulder. He rings the nurse's station, "Mrs. Grey is awake and she's in a lot of pain," he says quickly.

"Coming Mrs. Grey," the nurse yells. A moment later Christian comes through the door. He is shocked to see me awake.

"Oh Ana!" he cries running beside me. "How are you feeling?" he asks worriedly. Christian looks up to Taylor and his eyes drop back to mine full of fear. If I didn't know the relationship between Christian and Taylor as much as I do, I might have missed the subtle look Taylor just gave him.

"I'll be okay," I grit through my teeth with as much control as I can muster. The burning is getting unbearable again and my heart rate is increasing every second that I must endure it. The nurse finally bursts through the door with the doctor in tow.

"Mrs. Grey, my name is Dr. K. I hear you are hurting badly. Is that correct?" The doctor askes me. I glance over to Christian then back to the doctor debating on how I want to respond.

"I…. need…. something…. to… take…. off…. the… edge," I pant from the pain. The doctor pulls out a syringe and injects it into the port in my IV. Slowly the drug spreads through my body and the pain becomes manageable. "Thirsty," I slur relaxed from the drugs.

"Mrs. Grey let me look you over and the nurse will get you some water," she says stepping beside me. Taylor stands to give her room going to stand at the end of the bed. She lifts off the dressing over top of my chest and inspects the burns. I flash my eyes to Christian as he squeezes my hand. I see the pain reflected in his eyes. Taylor must see it too as he goes to stand beside Christian and places a hand on his shoulder.

"I'm okay," I whisper finally feeling good enough to respond. I turn my attention back to the doctor, "How's the baby?" I ask suddenly.

"So far so good Mrs. Grey. You've been through a lot of trauma though, so a miscarriage is still possible. Unfortunately, we need to wait and see," she says frowning.

"Your chest wounds will need more ointment and your ribs seem to be holding strong," she says touching my ribs. I let out a breath I didn't realize I was holding. Blip is okay… at least for now. She offers me a cup of water before heading out of the room to finish her rounds.

"I love you Ana!" Christian tells me coming to sit with me on the bed.

"I love you too!" I reply sweetly. There's a knock on the door and when it opens, I see Sawyer poke his head in.

"Ana… um… Mrs. Grey. Welcome Back!" Sawyer says.

"Thank you, Luke for trying to save me. You were incredibly brave," I thank him. "Did you get hurt?" I ask him.

"Oh, Mrs. Grey, I'm fine, but thanks for your concern," he lies. "Mr. Grey, your mother is here," he announces.

Christian nods before looking at me. "I'd like my mother to take a look at you," he says.

"Okay," I reply. Christian looks to Sawyer and nods his head. Sawyer steps back outside and lets Grace enter.

"Ana Dear! How are you feeling?" Grace gushes.

"Better now that they've give me some medicine," I reply honestly.

"Alright boys… out you go… I need a few moments to look over Ana. I'll let you know when I'm finished," she says clearing the room effectively.

Ana POV

It's been three days since I arrived at the hospital. Christian refuses to leave my side. Grace has just released me to go home with orders for bed rest for the next two weeks. After that she will see me again and re-evaluate.

"Ready to go home Mrs. Grey?" Christian asks me.

"I can't wait," I reply smiling.

"Taylor brought you some clothes. I'll help you dress," he tells me. He holds out one of his button up shirts to show me. "Can I help you put this on?" he asks kindly. I stare at him afraid for him to touch my chest, but I nod anyway. I have to be brave for him. He gently slides both of my arms into the sleeves before pulling it up onto my shoulders. The fabric brushes across my chest and I have to close my eyes to keep it together. "Are you okay?" he asks quietly. I nod but choose to stay quiet. "Can I button them for you?" he whispers.

I open my eyes and nod. "Please. Gently," I reply to him showing him the fear in my eyes. He agrees and carefully buttons my shirt being cautious not to touch my skin while doing so. He slides my underwear and jeans on my legs before pulling me into a standing position and pulling them up the rest of the way. I sit down in the waiting wheelchair and he rolls me out until we reach the door of the hospital. I hurt more than I can ever remember hurting, but I do my best to control my facial expressions. Christian is worried enough. I don't need to make it worse.

"Ready Mrs. Grey?" Christian asks me again. I nod even though I'm really not ready to face the number of paparazzi outside. Christian looks at Sawyer and nods. Sawyer, Ryan, Prescott and two hospital security staff make a shield around me as Christian pushes me through the door. I hear person after person shout my name trying to gain my attention, but the human shield keeps them from being able to see me. When we reach the Audi SUV, Taylor is by my door. He does something out of character and lifts me from the wheelchair into the seat. I wince as his arm brushes against my ribs and Christian notices immediately. "Careful!" Christian barks. Once seated Taylor shuts the door quickly running around to open Christian's door while Sawyer guards mine. When Christian is in the car, Sawyer and Taylor jump in and we are off with Prescott in a car in front of us and Ryan in one behind us. "Breathe Ana! You are safe now!" he says pulling my attention back into the now. I realize that I'm hyperventilating and try to calm myself back down. "Are you in pain Anastasia?" he asks me sliding over to hold me. I wince again as he pulls me into him. "Ana, I'm sorry. Tell me what you need," he whispers sounding worried.

"I'm fine," I finally get out. "Just a lot of movement in a short amount of time. My ribs are smarting," I continue. He tucks my hair behind my ear and kisses my forehead.

"We are almost home. We will get you in bed," he reassures me. I look up as we turn into the underground garage at Escala. Taylor pulls up directly beside the elevator. Sawyer hops out and opens my door. I decide to wait to get out until Christian is at my door. "Do you need me to carry you?" he asks me.

"I need to walk. My ribs hurt too much for you to carry me," I reply. "I'm not sure I trust my legs 100% though. Can I lean on you?" I ask.

"Come Baby. I'll support you," Christian responds. I turn gently to exit the Audi. I slip out and I'm right, I'm too weak to stand on my own. Christian catches me as I start to wobble. He leads me exceptionally careful to the elevator holding me gently. My knees buckle and he grabs me firmly brushing against my chest. The burning returns full force and tears spring to my eyes. "I touched them, didn't I?" he says defeated.

"It's okay. I just need to get this wrap off soon." I reply pulling myself together.

"Sawyer grab her other side," Christian demands. Sawyer does as asked and supports more of my weight as we step into the elevator. I feel on edge silently begging them to be careful where they are touching. Sawyer inputs the code into the pin pad and the elevator rises to our floor.

I step out and decide I want to head straight to the bedroom. Sawyer and Christian lead me there. As soon as I've sat down on the bed Sawyer makes his way out of the room. "Can I help you undress?" Christian asks me.

"Please," I reply. He begins to unbutton my shirt sliding it gently off my shoulders. He intakes a shaky breath. "It's over Christian. This nightmare is over," I reassure him.

"Mrs. Grey, you're so brave. Here you are being so strong and giving me strength. I love you," he says kissing me. "Let's lay you back and we will get your pants off," he suggests. He sets up a ton of pillows to support my back and sides. It feels so great to finally lay down again. He moves his hands down and places it gently on my stomach. "I can't wait to meet you," he whispers. My heart swells seeing how excited he is. Christian will be a great dad. He removes his hand and helps me out of my pants. He places a blanket up to my belly. "Do you want the wrap removed?" he asks me calmly.

"I'll get it," I tell him. The less he sees it, the less it will hurt him.

"Please Ana, let me take care of you," he says grey eyes staring at me full of love. I nod and he carefully pulls it up and off of the burns. The fresh air feels exquisite and it takes the edge off of the burn. His eyes turn a frosty grey and I can feel the anger cracking off of him. "I know how much they hurt. It was years before I could wear a shirt without worrying about it. It was even longer until I could let someone touch them. Only you Ana… only you could break me through that darkness. I know how you feel and I'm so sorry," he says looking at me painfully. I grasp his hand and pull him down to me. I offer him a kiss but say nothing. Somehow words just don't seem enough to handle what I'm feeling now. He lays with me and before I know if I've drifted off to sleep.
