Hello everyone, remember this story? Well, here is the next chapter, over a year after the last update, oops
This is a bit of things
Hope you enjoy
Read and relax
Thatch looked at the door when it opened and Ace came inside the kitchen. It was late and he was the only one here. Ace probably wanted a snack. Ace gave a smile to him. "Hey, Thatch." Thatch smiled back. He liked the brat. "Hey, how are you doing?" Ace hummed. "Bored." Thatch nodded. "Can see that. Nothing too much is happening now." Ace nodded. "Yeah, I noticed that." Thatch understood that Ace was bored, as this was currently a period where nothing much happened. It would probably turn in a bit.
Ace gave a small look to him. "I just thought of something, you don't need to answer though." Thatch nodded and Ace continued. "That… chocolate you mentioned, is that common? Never heard about that." Thatch swallowed, he wasn't fond of this topic, but knew it was normal to be curious. "Not really, not even with the Shinobis. My family took a lot, took everything before they ran, used it… badly." Ace nodded slowly. "Does that mean… you have a lot?" Thatch blinked. "For being this, yes." That was really a lot for this thing. He didn't want more to fall to the trial, as it was really gruesome. Ace nodded. "I guess you hid it, I would have hid something like this, probably far away." Maybe he should have done that, but he was scared it would be found. "Yeah, it's hidden, I can't let it fall in others hands." Ace nodded. "Get that. Is it here on the boat? Wouldn't that maybe make people want to get it?" Thatch gave a small sound. "I… maybe, never thought too much of that, where to hide it, not many know I have this. I want to keep it safe." Ace nodded. "Get that, just wondered." Thatch nodded. "I understand, it is just a bit of a tough topic. But you're cool, I like you." He really did like Ace, he was nice.
Ace gave a small hum. "How… does one make this chocolate? Can't they just make more?" Thatch shook his head. "Not completely sure how it works, but basically you need many components that work together and then you make it, it needs to be made by Shinobis I think. It is very hard, so very few have it." Not even Shinobis really had access to this chocolate and they wanted to control it, but no, he had a lot right now. Maybe he should give it back? No, they could abuse it. He didn't want that, it was safe with him.
Ace nodded. "Cool cool. Is it okay to ask which village you belonged in?" Thatch nodded. "It is. Hidden Leaf." Ace blinked. "Oh, I've heard about them from the others, they're from there too. You- wait no, your old family- they took all their chocolate? That couldn't have made them happy." Thatch nodded. "It didn't. I think I wouldn't be welcome anymore." Ace shrugged. "Who knows. Aren't they more of the open ones? If you can find them, that is." Thatch nodded slowly. "Well, yeah, but still." Ace smiled at him. "I am sure it would go fine, you're a good guy. Your family might not be, but you are." Thatch smiled. "Thanks." Many didn't think that, as he was both from nobles and Shinobi, either one wasn't especially liked.
Ace hummed. "How is training going? Deuce any good?" Thatch nodded. "Yeah, he is. Learning a lot. I want to try something new soon. Not that I've grasped everything, but I want more things I might manage." Ace nodded. "Get that. You should learn how to walk upside down." Thatch blinked. "I can do that?!" Ace nodded. "Yeah sure, the others can. Takes a lot of training, but yeah. I think it is easier than walking on water, but more… dangerous to get a hold of, as you need to be upside down." Made sense and he nodded. "I see. I would like to learn that. There is so much to learn!" Ace nodded. "I know, a lot. And you need to figure out what you're best at." Thatch frowned. "What do you mean, best at?" Ace hummed. "If you're best ninjutsu, genjutsu, or taijutsu. They are all need to ask Deuce, Trevor, or Mika about it, Not the best at these things." For not being a Shinobi, Ace knew a lot. "I see. Sounds cool. What are they the best at?" Ace hummed. "Trevor, genjutsu. Mika… . I think taijutsu. And Trevor has ninjutsu. I think. Don't hold me to this." Thatch blinked. "Oh, cool. Need to know what these are." Ace nodded. "You should." Ace was a nice person, and pretty cool.
They then spoke about things, before Trevor came inside, and Thatch looked at him. "Hey, Trev, can you… walk on the ceiling?" Trevor shrugged, and he expected a no. But he nodded. "Yeah, sure." He then calmly walked up to the ceiling and stood there for a few seconds, before he jumped down. "There." Thatch blinked. "Is that… harder or easier than walking on water?" Trevor hummed. "Both harder and easier. Harder since you're upside down and that can be confusing, and since you can fall, but easier to learn." Thatch nodded. "Cool. I really want to learn these things! Especially walking on water!" That sounded so useful, seeing as they were on a boat and not everyone could swim, seeing as they either had a Devil Fruit, or just weren't the best at it.
He spoke a bit more with Ace about things, glad he didn't bring up the chocolate anymore. He got that Ace was curious as it was a rare thing, not many had their hands on it. He hoped he would never see the trial ever again, just keep the chocolate safe with his life, he would never let anyone take it from him if he could have anything to say against it.

Whitebeard looked at Ace, them sitting in the galley and most had left now. "Why do you have Shinobis in your crew?" Ace shrugged. "Why do you?" Whitebeard nodded. "Since everyone is a child of the sea." Ace nodded. "Same here, just different words." Whitebeard frowned. "What words?" Ace shrugged. "Don't really have a cool phrase for it yet. Everyone, who is nice, is welcomed with me." Many didn't have that view, so he was amazed Ace did. Most hated Shinobis if they weren't one, and Shinobis usually didn't like others, especially Devil Fruit owners. He was glad Ace felt the way he did, that he was open. He must be a good captain, as he had a mix of people with him and they all seemed to look up to Ace, even though most were older than him. Ace was nice.
He had also spoken with Thatch, who said Ace was curious about that chocolate thing, which he could get, not many knew of it. Ace was a kid, he was curious about things. But Thatch wasn't entirely sure what to make of it. He should probably try and have a chat with ace, captain to captain. It had gone fine last time. Ace seemed to be done trying to kill him, which was good. Now, Whitebeard needed to ask if Ace wanted to stay with them. But he didn't want to do that here, with so many around. He would try a captain to captain talk later, maybe in a few days, just to be sure Ace was done trying to get his head.

Ace saw Trevor sending him a look when they got to their room. "Did you find it?" Ace shook his head. "No, he wouldn't tell. But I believe it is here on the boat, he did say maybe when I asked." Mika sighed. "Ace, we need to act soon." Ace nodded. "I know." Deuce hummed. "Try and up the deal. Or maybe we should up the deal, tell him a secret and ask for one back." Ace nodded. "That might work. But we need to be careful here, he will be watchull, we can't go on too hard or fast, they will know something is up." Trevor nodded. "I know. But, it is surprisingly nice here. I guess the rumors about him are true." Ace nodded. "Yes, this is the perfect place to stay until we can't anymore, we are safe here, no one will suspect us." He at least hoped this.
Deuce nodded. "How long do we have?" Ace sighed. "I am not completely sure. A month? 4 months? But not more than 7 max. The ripples have started." Trevor nodded. "I think 4-5. So, we have 4-5 months on us. I just hope that that's enough." Mika looked at Ace. "Try and become buddies, you're good at that, just act… well, like yourself. Your young self. That should work, he is childish." Ace nodded. "True. Maybe that will work." The chef was childish for being a commander, but was sure he could be serious when needed.
