Days passed before you regain consciousness and once you did you couldn't believe what you saw, first your surroundings weren't your own. You clearly saw it was someone else's room and in someone else's bed. Looking around you spot an item telling where you were and who's room.
On the nightstand next to you was a picture framed of Lois and Clark at the park.
Your eyes stung at the sight of Clark.
The next thing you saw looking out the window shocked you and dropped your mouth open. You had to blink and rub your eyes a few times to make what you saw was real.
People, there where people in a black and red horizontal lined tight bodysuits with some strange tech like bronze metal diamond shape crest on the front with a small rhumbas glowing red light, and glowing green eyes, flying around the city.
They where flying around!
Everywhere!
The sit was enough to get you to stand. This was some kind of joke, because the last thing you remember...people, well not all, could fly or had bodysuits.
They didn't seem evil or bad, just going around here and there, helping others. Which was good...yet something didn't feel right. You weren't sure but it was there.
"They're the new justice league or the cybor corps," Lois entered, walking over to your side and looked out too.
You kept your eyes forward with a wrinkled brow full of questions, one Lois was able to answer.
"It's from LexCorps."
That surprised you, "You're sure?"
She nodded crossing her arms. "Yep, plus Lex has his own Superman, remember?"
Your heart hiccuped and eyes lowered a bit. "How," your voice barely above a whisper, bit down on your slight quiver lips, "is he?"
Lois looked at you surprised for a moment, laughed a bit inside, smirked softly outside.
"He's okay, he was knocked out after saving you though."
You snapped your eyes and head up to her. Realizing this, quickly look away and down.
"Oh, well..." you fumble tucking some hair behind your left ear, thoughts rushed through your mind, appearing on your cheeks. You felt their heat rising, clear your throat and push them down. Focus back to the people outside. "So, about these...new heroes. Where did they come from?"
Lois took a moment to smile to herself, "The new Superman, the Cyborg Superman."
"What!"
"Yep, after the lost of the Justice League, the president officially declared him the one and true Superman."
The part came out sadly with her. You understood and rest a hand on her shoulder for comfort. She squeezed it a bit flashing you a soft smile.
You return it when it hit you from what she said and sunk your heart.
"What do you mean the Justice League is gone?"
Lois was about to tell you, instead closed the curtains and walked away, out the room for a moment. She came back in a few seconds with some of your clothes and laid them out.
"Get dress, I'll tell you on the way, everything."
Quickly, you get dress in what she had. White shirt, lavender off-shoulder blouse, and black boots.
Finished you and Lois quickly leave and just like she said told you everything in the car. How the Justice League disappeared, by some sort of portal. No one has seen them, that information rattled your core and for moment your thoughts wondered how Dick, Alfred, and Damian where dealing with. A part of you itched to call and find out. There was more, this newly appointed Superman now had his own Justice League anyone could join.
Offering powers to them. Again you weren't sure why, it just didn't settle with you right. There was something ominous about it. Like those burning red glowing eyes you saw, the ones that looked directly at you with an imposing and potent stare. You thought your soul screamed with despair.
Just thinking about it made you tremble and nearly go pale. Lost in that thought Lois's voice had faded out, until she tapped you.
"Huh?" You snapped back.
"You okay?" She asked, you give a nod and catch your breath for a moment. She looked at you for a moment. "Well, okay, anyway where here."
Turning you look up and out the window to see in plain view, LexCorps. Your heart skipped.
"What are we doing here?" You inquire, getting out the car with her, even though you had a feeling as to why.
Lois shuts her door, you do the same. "I've got some questions. Let's go."
You watch her hurry away into the building, when a pricking chill ran down your spin. There it was again, that impending feeling, it must be your eyes or something, those clouds rolling in seemed darker.
This feeling left you with a pending question.
"What the hell, is going on?"
You desired to know, a part of became rather...gleeful from it. Luckily you held it back. Still, you wanted to know, holding up a hand up, recite some words in Latin that you could remember.
A small glowing sphere manifested, with your other hand wave it over the sphere twice, and wait.
There was nothing but fog, strange, you do it again. Same thing. Did you do the spell wrong? The words you spoke where the same ones John spoke, you remembered. He walked you through it, the two of you did this together.
It was then it clicked! This spell required two of a bond to do it.
Your eyes drop to the side, tears slowly form in the corner. How could you forget?
Closing your hand cancel the spell. At that moment you left phone rings, looking it was Lois.
"Yeah?" You answer.
"Where are you? Sneaking in here without you."
Sighing you tell her you'd be there soon and hang up.
Taking the shadows you make your way into the building. Finding a door get and head to where Lois was. Which was the top floor, the penthouse.
Which wasn't a place you wanted to be, that is until you felt weight of loathing distress that hit you hard, pain prickled your heart. It was strong, you had to stop for a moment. The feeling was growing closer. Despite how sweet it was...no...it wasn't sweet, you didn't want to enjoy it, in fact you...closing your eyes tears form in the corner.
You where crying?
What?
This wasn't...
Opening your eyes quickly wipe them away and continue up the stairs, stop, realize an easier way to get there.
"Oh my..." you grumble and snap your fingers.
A pillar of flames surround and engulf you, in mere seconds you appear in the penthouse just seconds into Lois and 'Superman's' talk. What you heard, now understood where that feeling was coming from. Hearing him made your heart hurt more and the tears come back.
So, that's...you bite down looking away. Reflecting on what the teen said. You understood.
"Violet, you made it" Lois noticed you.
Instantly 'Superman' stood and turned around. His eyes stared wide, a sense of relief or was it joy filled them. That shifted to the side then the floor. A flush crept across his cheek.
Lois couldn't help but laugh to herself, she looked to you and noticed the soft look in your eyes with a tinge of guilt. That left you standing there, looking to the wall.
She saw the words swelling in your eyes you wanted to say, your chin quivered slightly from the weight.
Who was going to speak first, Lois wasn't sure. The way your mouth would open slightly seem like it and small genetics steps you took to come over, she was sure it was going to be you.
It had to be you, after all the things you said and now hearing this. Yep, it had to be you, standing a least two feet away reach out a hand to him, open your mouth—
"I'm glad you're okay," he spoke sincerely, lift his eyes meeting yours warmly. Smiling, moved closer. Taking your hand or hands, tenderly, sending your heart beating.
You squeeze his hands with a soft smile. One that produced a small laugh from you.
"Thank you," you tell him, squeezing his hands a bit more, drop your smile a bit. "I'm sorry, I know how it feels finding out your lineage." You sigh looking to the side for a moment then to him. Try to smile with a chuckle. "It's never fun."
He shared in your chuckle shaking his head. Leaned in resting his forehead on yours.
"Nope. Never is."
This was nice, your smile flushed with your cheeks. Warming his look on you.
"Let's hope I don't become bald," he joked, getting a laugh from.
"Nope, let's hope not," you play with his hair a bit. "Don't think it suits you, nor does this." You point to the LexCorps symbol on his jacket.
He looked at it, then to your chocker. Pointed to it.
"Neither does this."
Seeing what he was doing shake your head.
"Guess quite a few things don't suit us, huh?"
He leaned back in, closer, touching noses. Tilted his head a little, moving closer, you froze realizing what he was going to do and yet...something insisted you do the same. Lowering your eyes to match his, move closer, his breath kissed your lips. Yours did the same with his, Lois stood back watching knowing both teens blocked her out.
Just as she's about to turn around to give privacy her phone rang.
It was John.
"Yeah?" She answered, listening to what he said. "Okay, thanks."
She hung up.
"What'd he say?" You asked going to her with Superboy.
Before she could say anything her phone buzzed, it was Steel and he getting thrashed around. The three of you could see and hear it. It was bad, by the Eradicator, in some icy isolated place.
"Whoa! Steel what's happening?" Lois exclaimed.
"Kind is busy here, Lois!"
"What! You called me!"
"Sorry butt dialed!"
Steel was shoot down from the back, he was able to get back up but the Eradicator came with a heavy assault. Strike and punch after another. Cornering Steel.
His grunts of pain filled all ears and kept eyes on Lois's screen, no one noticed Luther come in.
"What the hell is going on here?" He demanded.
No one responded. To his irksome.
"Give me that," he took Lois's phone despite her protest. He took it to his computer and put it on something, allowing access and brought up the screen. While locating Steel's position.
It wasn't looking good.
"He needs help, I'm going" Superboy declared letting go of your hand, ready to leave.
Lex grabbed him by the arm stopping him. "No."
"Why?" You demanded.
He ignored you. "Those cyborg supermen are popping up everywhere. It's going to take a turn and I need you here."
Superboy glared at Lex. "You're not the boss of me, Lex."
"I literally am," Lex pointed to the logo on the boy's jacket.
The fight turned Lex back to the screen. You slip back to Superboy. The defiant look he had, you knew well.
"I'm going," he snatched off the logo throwing it down, took your hand. You look at him. "I know you can handle things here, I need you to."
You frown and look down. You couldn't...even if you tired...even if...
He squeezed your hand. "You can do this, Violet."
Hearing his words, inhale, and look at him, squeeze his hand and nod. "Yeah."
He flashed you a smirk and took flew the moment Steel's call disconnected.
