It was either piercing pain or the atmosphere of Apokolips that had you fading in and out. One moment you were with the others, the next found yourself in a beautiful place of green pasture as far as the eye could see; clear healthy skies of blue and fresh sweet air that called you to stay. You would have in a heartbeat, no longer in pain or anything...but a figure, a familiar figure standing a few feet in front of you telling you:

"Not yet."

You weren't sure if you heard them say babe or not, but each time you saw them they repeated the same thing. They weren't the only ones either. Another voice(distorted) called you to return back to reality, persistently. You were numb as they shook you a little, being careful not to hurt you.

"Violet! Violet! Can you hear me?" Robin called, giving you another light shake. Even snapping his fingers in front of your face.

There was no response. This wasn't good. Using words fingers, placed under your nose, he could feel your breathing. Faint but it was there. Placing an ear to your chest he, your heart was still beating.

After finding Flash, you had passed out. Raven barely managed to catch you, let alone hold you up. Robin came and assisted her, propping you up on the wall while Clark handled Flash. John loomed nearby between you and the speedster, eyeing you. Something in his...compelled him to.

Robin shook you again, desperately, "Violet! Come on. Wake up. Joanna. Think of Joanna."

A knot tightly formed in his stomach, you couldn't be...Conner, he promised Conner that he'd keep you...both of you...

"Let me," Raven kneeled next to him, her hands out covers in a faint dark glow, cupped your face gently. Closing her eyes concentrate solely on you and your pain.

Her forehead lightly touching yours, calls you.

You didn't hear her voice at first, you had slipped back to the green fields and blue skies. It felt right to be here, the sweet breeze…it was just like back on the Kent Farm. Closing your eyes, take yourself there. Turning around you find it there waiting for you, perfectly well and healthy. Overcome with joy run up the stairs, stop, realizing you were dressed in your favorite white simple sundress and brown boots. Your hair flowing behind you.

Opening the door, you were hit with a smell of home sweet home, your heart leaped; fluttering faster as you searched each room for…Conner. You called for him, bursting out to the back.

"Conner! Conner!" You shout to the skies.

There was no response. That didn't stop your heart from racing, he just had to be here…were else would be? You run around to the front, passing the tree that you and he would sit under at times, and watch birds fly by or play with the dog. Once he fell asleep in your lap coming home from Titan business. You could still feel fingers gently caressing his hair.

Reaching the dirt road, call for him again. You hear nothing. Where was he? You look to your left, then to your right. Hoping someone or something would come by. Standing the dirt road, just as you did waiting for him to come home from school. You'd run to him, most times he'd fly to you and scoop you up in his arms. Either way, he scoops you up like a feather, twirls you around, and bring you down for a kiss that made the whole world and time freeze. But you saw no one.

Was he in the cornfield? Running through them, you stop hearing a distant voice calling you.

"Conner?" You assume, stopping in your tracks turn around and run back. Following the voice, take a right onto the dirt road.

You ran and ran and ran. Your feet pounding against the earth, tears rising your eyes clouding your vision. You wipe them away as best you could, nearly trip. Quickly you regain yourself, closing in on the voice when you hear another.

"Not yet."

You almost stop to look, but it was too painful. So you kept running, believing where the voice was most likely coming from sprout your wings, and take to the sky. Not realizing your wings now were feathered, fly your way a hidden gem. Twilight's Springs, a swimming hole, with lively waterfall from up high, pouring kindly into the water below. It received its name because of the way both sun and moon cast their magic in it, especially during a wax moon. Conner took you here quite a few times. He found it flying around one day, inside there was a cave behind the waterfall that lit up like the Northern Lights. It was magical. Magic always happened here with you and Conner.

Landing, find it empty, but not your memories. Conner had you blindfolded when he brought you here, it was turning to the evening when he did. You were rather impatient, he laughed it off, but it was worth it.

And when you saw it, your heart cried. You cried.

You cried now, they came dropping to the soil. He wasn't there….he wasn't. Your legs became like noodles and you dropped on the banks, head lowered cried like a banshee for him. Calling him out.

"Conner! Conner!" You scream. Digging your nails into the wet earth. His smile flashed in your mind, only produced further tears. Adding more pain. His wink, his playful wink, you could see it. That goofy wink.

Those blue-grey eyes, so full of shielded arrogance, that broke away showing his hero's heart. His zest. His kindness. His stubbornness. His support. His…love.

"Conner…." your cries reach their peak, holding your sides as if he were here. If he were here, rock yourself back and forth.

You tried…you were trying so hard to do it…to do this. But…but….

A hand reached out and rested lightly on your shoulder. A touch that snapped you back, lifting your eyes find green ones. Damian's green eyes, no mask, just his eyes, sincerely staring into yours, offering your comfort and an apology. You weren't expecting him. He said nothing, only held out his other hand. You knew what that meant and your heart just…dropped. Then burned. A scowl harden on your face, Damian expected as much and still kept his hand out.

Just as you had done for him years ago, with his first fight against Deathstroke. You came to his aid, with your hand held out for him to take. Now, he was returning it. You saw it. You saw it, the many times you held out your hand for Damian, the many times you just took his pain away…he wanted to do the same.

Not for Conner. Not for some promise because…he….you…were….for the first time in so long you realized how soft his features had become. How they were now, no longer harden or stoic, he looked at you with softness you didn't believe he could show. It was raw. Open.

You don't know why but more tears rose, they weren't heavy like before…no…you couldn't quite explain it. His hand still held out to you with the patience of thousand years, your hand began trembling. All of you began trembling, with his other hand wrapped his arm around you into an embrace and whispered.

"Come back. Joanna needs you."

A gasp escaped you and with a simple blink, the world flashed and you find your eyes opening to Damian's green ones and Raven's violet. Both surrounding you relieved to see you well. They weren't the only ones either, John stood behind them his eyes filled with tears for a moment seeing you well. You didn't notice and threw your arms around Damian and Raven. Without a single word hold them close.
