Chp. 6: Junkies and Parkour
Unknown Abandoned Hotel
Outside at an unknown abandoned hotel, eleven stories tall and covered in graffiti, Augusto and his small group of friends approached a door. They stopped in front of the door, staring up at it for a moment.
"Before we get inside, I must tell you something. What you all are about to see must not be told to anyone," Augusto said.
"Why is that?" one of the boys asked.
"Because if you do, let's just say that there are consequences to those that sing about what my dad does," Augusto said. "Boys, let me introduce you to the family business."
Augusto knocks on the door and waits until the door cracked open as a face pokes out from the crack of the door with a small chain lock above his forehead. The man behind the door looked down at Augusto for a moment then at his friends, then back at him.
"They're with me," Augusto said.
The door closed for a moment as they heard the sound of the chain rattle. The door then opened all the way as Augusto and his friends walked inside. As soon as they entered inside, the man closed the door behind them. They all looked around as they saw a large drug lab. Several tables with beacons and test tubes with chemicals were under use by several people working at each table. Augusto and his friends walked past the tables as they looked at the work around them. They soon approached a stairwell and began to climb up the steps.
Augusto and his friends walked up to the fourth floor and began to walk down a hallway with doors on each side. As they walked they heard the sounds of women screaming and crying, along with the sounds of men cheering and grunting. The sounds behind the doors unnerved Augusto's friends but, Augusto didn't seem fazed about it. Suddenly, one of the doors bursts open and out comes a crying naked woman, making Augusto's friends jump in shock. Before the woman could run, two men rushed out of the room and quickly restrained the woman.
"Where are you running, bitch?!" one of the men asked.
"Yeah! We're gonna have a real fun party!" the other man said.
The two men pulled the naked woman back into the room as she screamed. One of the two men then closed the door. Augusto's friends looked from the closed door, then back to Augusto.
"Don't worry. She'll learn to love it. They all do at the end," Augusto said as he then continued to walk down the hall.
The boys followed behind in discomfort until soon after, Augusto stopped at a door. He knocks on the door and then waits. A moment later, the door opens and reveals a muscular man with blue eyes and a black goatee and mustache. He wore a pair of black shoes and dark blue jeans, along with an unbuttoned dark tan vest, showing off his muscular physique He has three tattoos, two on his arms and one across his chest. The tattoo on his left arm read 'Punish,' the right arm read 'Correct,' the the chest read 'King.'
The man looked down at Augusto for a moment until the latter spoke.
"Hey, old man."
"Augusto," the man said.
"I've watched the news. The cops are out looking for you," the man said.
"Augusto, is that your-" The man cuts off the hoodie teen's question.
"Yes, I am Augusto's father. The name's Manuel Silva," the man known as Manuel answered, then turned his attention back to his son. "So what drove you to shoot that Watson kid?"
"He was talking to my girl, dad. I wasn't gonna let that slide," Augusto answered.
"You mean the same girl you wouldn't shut up about and how you've tried and failed on multiple occasions to make her your bitch?" Manuel asked.
"Hey! I've been-"
"Shut the fuck up!" Manuel cuts his son off. "I didn't fuck your mother and have her pop out a whiny little pussy out of her's!"
"Are you gonna help us or what?" Augusto asked.
Manuel was silent for a moment until he gave out a frustrated sigh.
"Be lucky I've never been caught once throughout my dealings. You guys are to stay here until the heat dies down," Manuel said.
"What about Yara?" Augusto asked.
"I'll have a couple of my guys find her and bring her here. After that, make sure you convince her to be with her... through whatever means necessary," Manuel said.
Ibirapuera Park
June 13, 2020
The next morning, Watson was walking through the park, looking for Lucas. Up ahead was a bridge over a river and standing on top of it was Lucas who was waiting for his friend to arrive. Watson ran straight up the bridge and approached Lucas.
"Glad you could make it," Lucas said.
"Well I have to be careful from now on, since Augusto is still out there and still wants to kill me for talking with Yara," Watson said.
Watson and Lucas began to walk down the bridge and down the sidewalk.
"Yeah, but enough about that right now, because all that normal practice with your basic parkour move is gonna go up several notches," Lucas said.
"Meaning?" Watson asked.
"Meaning when I'm through with you you'll be going to be climbing, flipping, and jumping your way on and through buildings, like me," Lucas answered with a smile.
"And if I mess up?" Watson asked.
"You got your aura to protect you from harm," Lucas answered.
"Lucas, even though my aura is unlocked, I would still feel some pain from my would-have-been injuries. I mean getting shot in the chest hurts like hell," Watson said.
"Well as the saying goes; No pain, no gain," Lucas said. "Besides, you're gonna have to grow some tolerance to pain."
"I'm used to all the beatings from Augusto," Watson said.
"Yes, you might end up taking a lot worse later on. It is better to be prepared to take heavy blows then to not to," Lucas said.
"So... what do we start out with?" Watson asked.
They both stopped walking for a moment as Lucas turned his head at a freshly trimmed grass field. Lucas tugs onto Watson's arm and leads him into the field.
"We'll do some stretches first. Start off with twenty push ups and twenty sit ups. Starting now, Watson! Drop and give me twenty!" Lucas shouted.
Watson dropped to the ground and began his push ups as Lucas was keeping count.
Roof Tops
Later on the city rooftops, Watson and Lucas stood on the edge, atop a roof of a five story building. They both looked over the edge as Watson looked nervous.
"Uhhh... Are you sure about this, Lucas?" Watson asked.
"Like I said, we're taking it up several notches," Lucas answered.
Lucas points at a fire escape on the next building across from them.
"See that fire escape? Watch closely what I do," Lucas instructed.
He walked a few steps back as Watson watched. A moment later, Lucas began sprinting toward the edge. As soon as he gets to the edge, he jumps off the edge and towards the fire escape across from him. He grabs on to the railing and then lifts his legs back and then flips himself over it and onto the platform. Lucas turns around to face Watson who was still watching.
"Now do what I just did!" Lucas called.
"Are you nuts?!" Watson asked.
"You'll be fine!" Lucas replied.
Watson looked down for a moment before taking several steps back like Lucas did. He took a deep breath before sprinting toward the edge. He jumps off the edge and towards the fire escape. He grabbed onto the railing, but his hands then slipped and fell down into a closed dumpster, and tumbles to the ground. Lucas jumps onto the fire escape ladder and slides down to the ground. He ran straight towards his downed friend.
"Are you okay?" Lucas asked.
Watson groaned as he leaned himself up.
"I'm fine," Watson groaned.
"Good. Now let's climb up and try again," Lucas said.
"Fuck you," Watson groaned.
Lucas pulls Watson up off the ground. Watson began to walk out of the alleyway to try the jump again as Lucas followed behind him.
"This is gonna take a while," Lucas said.
An hour had passed, and Watson had tried to jump across to the fire escape several times, each with no success. Watson falls to the ground again after another failed attempt to jump across to the fire escape.
"Don't ever... this at home... if you're not a professional... or don't have aura," Watson painfully groaned, facing the people reading this story right now.
Watson turns his head back to Lucas as he slid down the fire escape ladder and approached Watson. As Watson was getting up, he and Lucas both noticed his aura flicker.
"I think we should stop for now," Lucas said.
"Same," Watson said as he got up from the ground. "A couple more falls and I'll be either seriously injured or dead. Plus, falling straight to the ground over and over again is starting to get annoying."
"You're not concerned about the pain?" Lucas asked.
"I think I'm starting to get used to all the pain after sixteen attempts," Watson answered.
"At least that's an upside, I guess," Lucas said.
"But I have gotten on to one of the platforms of the fire escape," Watson said.
"You'll get it soon. You just need practice," Lucas said.
"Why can't I just stick to the ground?" Watson asked.
"Because you might have to use heights at some points if you end up in a situation where you have to use the rooftops. Better safe than sorry," Lucas said. "Anyway, let's head back."
"Right," Watson replied.
They both walk out of the alley way and then down the sidewalk, heading home.
