A/N: Trigger warning: Lewis is also mentioned in this chapter. This should be the last chapter where he is mentioned. I'm hoping to update every Wednesday. As usual, I own none of these characters. Please read and review! Thank you!
She was silent for a few moments, and I studied her. This had changed her. She lived through this, without me. And she was right, I would have beat the man to death. Without a second thought.
Olivia POV
I took a few moments, and I looked up at Elliot. His expression was a mix of pain and... awe? I needed to finish. "When everybody else showed up, paramedics were bringing him out and I was told that he was still alive. I couldn't believe it. Part of me wanted him to be dead. Later, in court, I lied under oath, and said that I used force necessary to subdue him after he had tried to escape. He acted as his own attorney at one point, and he questioned me... it was a long hard road. I was going to therapy, and Cassidy stuck by me. During the time at the beach house, Lewis told me that I was going to think of the one person I wanted to see one last time before he killed me. And the only person I could think of" I paused- "was you. You were the one."
"I'm sorry that I wasn't there for you. I wish I would've been. I'm so proud of you. You survived, he went to prison. He's getting his in there." I could've left it be but I told myself I was telling him everything- and I couldn't stop myself once it was coming out. " Actually, El, he's not." Elliot's face went from calm-ish to panicked/anger and his lips went into thin lines. "Explain." She took a deep breath and another sip of the coffee, that was now cold, and continued. "He ended up escaping prison with the help of one of the jurors, faked his death, and came back to life. Then he went on a spree. He ended up kidnapping a young girl, and threatened to kill her if I didn't tell the truth on live TV. So, at that point I had made sergeant, and I publicly admitted that I had lied under oath and used unnecessary force. I was ordered a protective detail, which I ditched, and ended back in the power of Lewis." Elliot pinched the bridge of his nose and took a breath. I proceeded. "Ended up where he was keeping the girl, taped me to a table, and he gave me a choice- raping me or the girl." Elliot stood up, walked down the two steps to the street, and crouched in front of her. "Liv, are you telling me that he-" I grabbed both of his hands. "No. I refused to fight him, so he decided on another course of action. He forced me to play Russian Roulette. With a revolver. We passed it back and forth, coming down to the last chamber, and it was my turn." Elliot returned to his spot next to me, trying to not be angry, and I appreciated his dedication to trying to stay calm. It wasn't easy for me, but I know it wasn't easy for him either- and he was hearing for the first time. He took my hand and nodded, and I continued. "I thought for a moment that I was dead. For that one, agonizing moment, I knew I was going to die and I wanted so much to live. And then he put the gun in his left hand, held my face and made me watch him blow his own brains out. And that was his last act, to make it look like I was the one that killed him. And to torture me forever. A couple of seconds after the shot, CSU and my team were swarming the place. And of course, IAB wanted my statement. But they had an issue with it because he had shot himself with his left hand, and there was no way to prove that I hadn't shot him. Ed told me that even if I did shoot, it would be considered a public service, but I hadn't. And I wasn't going to own up to something I didn't do." When I looked back up at Elliot, his eyes were wide and he clasped his hands together. "Ed? As in Tucker?"
