Happy Femslash February... again.
A lot has happened over the last year, good and bad. But suffice to say that now I can write again, and possibly more consistently than before. I dunno. We shall see.
Hope you all enjoy the incoming drabbles.
Disclaimer: I do not own Fairy Tail.
Title: Warm Spring Day
Pairing: Flare x Lucy
Requester: sassyhazelowl
Prompt: daisy
Strands of hair brushed through Lucy's fingers, soft as silk. "You have lovely hair, Flare," she told the other woman. It wasn't simply red as she'd first believed; rather it was a curious mix of brown, orange, red, and even blonde individual strands interwoven together. It was like fire itself, and warm to the touch. Her fingers deftly twisted the beautiful locks into a larger whole. "Thank you for letting me braid your hair. I can't get enough of it."
The back of Flare's neck flushed, hotter than even her hair was. Squirming in place, she kept quiet but a soft smile graced her lips.
A soft breeze rustled the grass of the hill upon which the pair sat. Below them lay the city of Magnolia, the spring sun warm and the gentle wind breathing rejuvenation throughout the streets. It was a much needed day of peace. So much had happened over the past few years to the city, and to Fairy Tail. To Lucy herself.
Days like this were few and far between, and meant to be enjoyed to their fullest. And Lucy counted herself lucky indeed that she had someone she cared for to spend it with.
Her relationship with Flare had once been turbulent, yes. It had not started off kindly. But that was the past, and the person in front of her was very different from back then. And honestly... so was Lucy. So much pain and sorrow for both of them. Beloved people lost on both sides. The loss felt distant on days like today, though.
Finished braiding, Lucy allowed the hair to slip from her fingers. "Hmm..." She contemplated the braid. It felt a little... plain, now that she was done. It didn't quite do justice to Flare's loveliness.
A stray hair of her own blew into her face, and Lucy tucked it behind her ear, glancing down the hill. An idea came to her with the wind, and she reached for the white flowers dotting the hillside around them. Picking them, she rolled the stems between her fingers before weaving the daisies into the braid.
Now satisfied, she smiled. "All done."
Flare twisted her head slightly to look at Lucy, her knees tucked up to her chest and her arms wrapped around them. She smiled softly at the blonde. "Thank you."
"You're most welcome." Lucy scooted forward, nestling up to Flare's side. She leaned against the redhead's shoulder, and closed her eyes in peaceful bliss.
It was a lovely spring day, indeed.
