"Just A Convenience?" Kitty hears some of Dodge City's "high society" girls talking and questions her relationship with Matt. It's up to Matt to convince her otherwise. (This story takes place early in their relationship.)

Kitty laid on her bed with her head propped up on her elbow. She was watching Matt get dressed. Like many nights prior to this one, he had spent the night with her. Thinking about the way they shared their bodies last night, the way he filled her, the way he made her orgasim multiple times was enough to make her want to orgasim right then and there. Matt's voice broke her out of her reverie. Kitty realized he was fully dressed.

"Kitty, I should get going. I want to stop by the jail before I head over to Spearville," Matt said as he buckled his gunbelt.

Throwing the covers off of herself and walking over to Matt, Kitty put her arms around him. "How long do you expect to be gone?"

Matt wrapped his arms around Kitty. "I should be back tomorrow.. I just have to deliver some papers to the land office there. It's pretty routine."

"Even though you're only going to be gone a day, I still hate to see you go. I'm gonna miss you," sighed Kitty.

"Me too sweetheart. But the sooner I go, the sooner I can be back here," Matt said as he captured Kitty's lips in a sweet kiss. "See ya tomorrow, sweetheart."

Accepting Matt's kiss, Kitty said goodbye to Matt. Goodbyes said and kisses given, Matt walked out of Kitty's door and down the back steps. He headed over to the jail to get the papers he needed and packed his saddle bags. Once that was done, Matt took off for Spearville.

A couple of hours after Matt left her room. Kitty had gotten ready for the day. She had to work that evening, so she decided to get out of the Long Branch for a while. She had a few errands to run. Her first destination was Mr. Jonas' general store. Kitty wanted to pay her bill. She didn't like having to owe money for too long of a time. Speaking of bills, Kitty went to Doc's office next. She wanted to pay him for the powders he gave her when she came down with a cold a few weeks ago. Kitty knew he would insist she didn't have to pay, but she felt as though she should. Sure enough, Doc told her it was on the house, and sure enough, Kitty still paid. Kitty's last stop was the millinery shop. She was going to treat herself to a new hat.

Kitty walked into the shop.. She knew exactly what hat she was going to buy. She had seen it there last week and still hoped it was there. If it wasn't there, she would see if Judd Omar, owner of the shop, could order another one. After walking into the shop, Kitty spotted the hat. She breathed a sigh of relief. She was glad the hat was still there. Kitty picked up the hat from the table and took it to the back of the shop. There was a mirror back there that was next to a window. The window let sunlight in and made it nice to try things on. Kitty tried on the hat one more time. It was a beautiful hat with multiple color blossoms. It was a versatile hat that could be worn with multiple dresses. Kitty took the hat off and was about to walk up to the front to pay for it. However, some voices halted her. It wasn't just the voices that stopped her, but what she heard. She heard some girls mention the Marshal.

"I heard the Marshal was out of town for the day. He had to go to Spearville on government business," one of the girls said.

"Do you wonder if it's just for government business," another girl asked.

"What do you mean?" asked a third girl.

Kitty immediately recognized the three girls as some of Dodge City's so-called high society girls. She really didn't see them as high society. Unless high society meant gossiping about people and pointing your nose up at people, then yes they would be high society. Kitty just hoped she would never be considered high society.

"Maybe it's more than just government business. Maybe he has women in these towns he has to go to. These women could be nothing but a convenience for him, nothing but raw sexual pleasure," explained Tillie.

"I never thought of that," Margie responded. "Do you think he sees Kitty Russell as nothing but a sexual convenience?"

"My mother definitely thinks he does, and I have to agree," said Kay. "What would an upstanding citizen, like the Marshal of Dodge City, see in a saloon girl? I guarantee you that once he decides to settle down and get married, he'll forget her like yesterday's trash."

Kitty didn't dare move from her spot. She just stood there and listened, not really caring that she was probably eavesdropping. She never thought of herself as a sexual convenience to Matt, nor did she think he had other women in other towns. However, the words she was hearing were causing some insecurities. Kitty heard the conversation between the girls end and then heard them leave the shop. Kitty looked around for a few more minutes and then paid for her hat. She left the millinery shop and headed back towards the Long Branch.

Matt told Kitty he would be back the next day, and he was. Matt dropped his saddle bags off at the jail and took his horse to Moss Grimmick's stable. He knew he had to change out of his dirty, dusty clothes, but he wanted a nice cold beer and to see Kitty. Matt walked over to the Long Branch and peered over the batwing doors. He immediately spotted Kitty standing at the end of the bar. Kitty saw Matt and smiled. He made it back safe and sound.

"Welcome back. Can I get you a drink?" Kitty asked as she made her way behind the bar.

"A beer would hit the spot," Matt answered. "Do you have a few minutes to sit with me?"

"Of course. Let's go sit at our table." Kitty replied. She and Matt headed towards their table. "How was your trip?"

"Nothing to write home about. I delivered the land papers like the government wanted me too and then I headed back here. I camped out last night," Matt said as he took a swig of his beer.

"Will you be able to come over tonight?" asked KItty. She wanted to ask him about being a convenience to him.

"That was my plan," said Matt. "Is that your plan?" He was praying for a yes.

"Yes," Kitty answered. "I assume I can expect you after your rounds."

Matt shook his head yes. "I'll see ya tonight," he said.

Later that night, Matt came to Kitty's room after he finished his rounds. He inserted his key into her locked door and entered her room. He could see that Kitty had not been there too long. She must've just gotten off of work, considering she was still in her work dress. Matt removed his boots, gunbelt, and hat, and then sat on the bed. He leaned back against the headboard and just stared at Kitty. Kitty could feel his eyes on her.

She knew what he was wanting, but she asked him anyway. "Is there something you want, Marshal?"

"You know exactly what I want. I want you to strip out of that dress. You know how much I love it when I see you taking off your clothes," Matt responded.

Kitty smiled and slowly started to take off her clothes. She knew how much Matt wanted to see her naked, but she also knew how much he loved it when she removed her clothes slowly. Finished and completely naked, Kitty walked over to Matt.

"Stand up," she told him. "It's your turn." Matt stood up and began to unbutton his shirt, but Kitty stopped him. "Let me."

Matt stopped unbuttoning his shirt and let Kitty continue. As she was unbuttoning Matt's shirt, Kitty suddenly remembered she wanted to ask Matt about being his sexual convenience. This caused her to falter in her actions. Matt noticed this.

"Is something wrong, Kitty?" Matt asked. "You usually don't stop when you're doing things like this."

Kitty knew she couldn't lie to Matt. "Matt, do you have other women in other towns? Do you see me as just a sexual convenience?"

Matt couldn't believe his ears. He was not expecting those words out of Kitty's mouth. "What on Earth made you think of something like that?"

"I was in the millinery shop when I heard some of Dodge City's snobs talking. They were saying that you probably had women in the other towns you have to travel to and that you probably just saw me as a sexual convenience," Kitty softly said.

"Kitty, you know the answer to that," Matt told her. "I do not have any other women in any other town. As far as you being just a convenience to me, that is as far from the truth as possible. Kitty, you are my world. You're my best friend, my lover, my soulmate, my confidant. I share so many things with you, things I don't share with others, not even Doc or Chester. If you were just a sexual convenience to me, I wouldn't trust you with the things I tell you." Matt took KItty's hand and put it on his heart. "My heart beats for you and for you alone."

Kitty stood there with unshed tears in her eyes. Deep down, she knew Matt didn't see her as just a convenience, but she still needed to hear it from him. She needed that reassurance.

"I'm sorry, Matt. I guess I did know the answer, but I needed to hear it from you," Kitty as she wrapped her arms around her soulmate. "I hope I didn't just kill the mood."

"Kitty, I don't think you could ever kill my mood of wanting to be with you," said Matt. "Now, why don't you finish what you were starting."

Kitty smiled and continued unbuttoning Matt's shirt. She finished with his shirt and then undid the button on Matt's jeans. He pulled them down and stepped out of them. Now that they were both sans clothes, they made their way to the bed. They wasted little time with foreplay. Matt entered Kitty's warm velvety opening in one quick move. Kitty wrapped her legs around Matt, wanting to take him inside her as much as she could. They began an intimate dance that only they knew the moves to. After moving and grinding against one another, Matt could feel himself losing control. He was reaching his climax and Kitty was right there with him. After a few more thrusts, Matt exploded, spilling his love and his seed inside Kitty. Feeling Matt empty himself into her, triggered Kitty's climax.

A few minutes later, Matt was lying on his back, with Kitty resting her head on his chest. They were both basking in the afterglow of their lovemaking. Matt kissed the top of Kitty's head, breathing in the scent of her shampoo.

"Never just a convenience, Kitty," he whispered. "Never."

The next morning Matt and Kitty were walking down Front Street. They were on their way to Delmonico's to have breakfast. Matt saw Tillie, Margie, and Kay coming towards them. He wanted so badly to say something directly to them, but decided on a different tactic.

"Kitty, don't you just love having a restaurant like Delmonico's in town? The convenience of it is just so nice," Matt said. He said it loud enough for the other girls to hear. Kitty knew exactly what he was doing.

"Oh most definitely and I know how much you rely on conveniences in your life," Kitty responded, making sure the girls heard her.

Tillie, Margie, and Kay just looked at each with dumbstruck looks on their faces. Both Matt and Kitty saw their faces and looked at each other. They continued on their way to Delmonico's with pleased looks on their faces.
