A/N: I'm so sorry I disappeared for ages! Work was totally and I'm hoping that things will be a bit calmer now! I can't commit to posting regularly but do know that most of this story is kind of written, I just need to like beef it out and add in detail!

I hope this chapter makes sense! Please let me know if it doesn't! It had been a while since I had read/written anything so I'm hoping that it all lines up and there aren't any major plot holes!

Also, I'm sorry! But it isn't the end yet!

Chapter 16

Since returning from Miami over a week ago, Callie and Arizona had fallen back into their routine. After leaving and Torres house, they got Sofia on the earliest flight Seattle before they returned to Baltimore. They hadn't spoken much about what had happened in Miami. Every time Arizona tried to bring it up, Callie quickly changed the subject. The pain still too fresh for Callie to talk about it. Carlos and Aria had called to check in on them, but Callie reassured them that everything was fine and there were no hard feeling towards them. Arizona worried that Callie wasn't being truthful when she said she was fine. Until she was ready to talk, Arizona wasn't going to push it.

While Sofia was away, the pair had enjoyed having the house to themselves. Not having to worry about the teenager meant that their nighttime activities didn't have to be quick or muffled.

Arizona was lying on the couch reading a book, waiting for Callie to come home. As they had come home early, Callie had decided to spend more time on her research while Sofia wasn't home. It gave Arizona some time to catch up on all the things she had wanted to do while she was off work. Some of things involved fixing up her apartment which she realised she hadn't really stayed at in months. Most nights she stayed with Callie.

"Hey," Callie said before lying down on top of Arizona.

"Hey," Arizona smiled before their lips met in a quick kiss. "How was your day?"

"It was great. We worked out why one of the formulas wasn't working so I have some interns researching solutions for me," Callie smiled.

"You're amazing," Arizona smiled back. "Guess what came today?"

"What," a confused Callie asked.

"There's a box sitting on the kitchen counter, go and have a look."

With a quick look to Arizona, Callie got up and made her way to the cardboard box and slowly lifted the flaps. Once she had moved the decorative tissue paper, she finally saw what Arizona was talking about. Callie gasped and then giggled as she felt two arms wrap around her waist from behind.

"I was thinking we should use it tonight, seeing as how Sofia comes home tomorrow afternoon," Arizona suggested with a kiss to Callie's shoulders.

Turning in Arizona's arms, Callie kissed her on the mouth before grabbing the box in one hand and Arizona's hand in the other. Before Arizona could say anything, she was being pulled up the stairs and into the bedroom.

Looking at her reflection in the mirror, Callie wondered how she had let Arizona talk her into this. It felt silly now. She felt ridiculous. It had seemed like such a sexy idea when they had talked about it. Now, Callie wasn't so sure.

"Callie, just come out and show me," Arizona yelled out, begging for her girlfriend to come out of the adjoining bathroom.

"No. I look ridiculous. Definitely not sexy," Callie called out.

"I'm sure you look hot, very hot," Arizona called out, encouraging her.

"Okay, fine. But you aren't allowed to laugh," Callie warned.

"I promise!"

With a deep sigh and one last look down, Callie walked out of the bathroom and back into the bedroom. Arizona was lying in the middle of the bed, her body covered by a red lacy body suit, and she sat up when Callie re-entered the room. Her eyes widened at the black strap on that was now attached to Callie's hips. A small smile appeared on her face as her eyes raked up the beautiful body before her. She admired the how the brunette looked. The strap on attached to her lower half, a black lacy bra worn on the top half.

"Definitely sexy," Arizona confirmed.

"I feel ridiculous," Callie chuckled, still standing in front of the bed. She started circling her hips, the strap on flapping as a result of Callie's movements. "This is kind of fun though. I wonder if guys just stand in front of the mirror and literally whip it out. Like just flap it around."

"Shut up," Arizona laughed. "You're ruining the mood."

"It's a serious question," Callie laughed as she put her hands behind her head and helicoptered the silicone cock around.

"You're a moron. Now come here," Arizona beckoned her.

Callie smiled and quickly jumped on the bed and crawled up to Arizona. She stopped at Arizona's feet, kneeling in front of her almost naked girlfriend.

"Does this turn you on," Callie joked as she started swinging the strap on around with her hips.

"Oh yeah," Arizona joked back.

"Does this make you wet," Callie asked, husking her voice to seem sexier.

"You might accidentally turn me straight if you keep it up," Arizona said, squinting her eyes and laughing.

"Want me to dance for you," Callie suggested before leaning down and crawling up Arizona's body.

"Only if you only do those moves," Arizona chuckled.

"I think I can manage that. It is my signature move," Callie smiled and giggled.

The two of them laughed as Callie came to rest above Arizona, her hands stroking her cheek. They had talked about adding toys to their sex life. One night they'd had a few too many wines and ended up on a website where they purchased a few things. Almost everything had arrived weeks ago. This was the last item to be sent out in the mail.

"I'm nervous. I've never done this before," Callie admitted softly.

"Me too. I've never done this before. Usually I'm the one wearing it."

"Then what am I doing with it on? Let's just switch!"

Arizona lifted her head and placed a sweet kiss on Callie's lips, trying to reassure her. "The reason I usually wear it is because then I'm in control."

"Oh," Callie smiled.

"You look so sexy and gorgeous and I'm very excited," Arizona said seductively.

"Oh really," Callie asked as she leaned down and kissed the beautiful blonde underneath her.

It didn't take long for their kiss to become heated and needy. Hands started roaming and grasping at whatever skin they could come in contact with. Arizona's legs gripped at Callie's side, holding the brunette close to her. Their bodies grinding together as their want and desire took over their bodies. Soft moans escaped Arizona's lips as the strap on continuously rubbed against her.

Moving her lips down the soft skin of Arizona's neck, Callie's hands rolled the straps of the red body suit down Arizona's arms. Her lips trailed a path down her collarbone and kissed between her breasts as Callie rolled the body suit down and off Arizona's body. Once it was down her legs, Callie threw it to the side. As soon as Arizona was free of her clothes, Callie sucked on her pink nipples.

"Oh god, Callie," Arizona groaned as Callie nipped and sucked on her sensitive nubs. The moans and groans sent shockwaves through Callie. She loved making Arizona feel good. Feeling the writhing body beneath her turned on her so much that she was now dripping down her leg.

Letting go of the nipple with a pop, Callie made her way back up to Arizona's face. She stared into ocean blue eyes, a silent moment between the two lovers that didn't need words. Callie reached down with one hand and guided the dildo to Arizona's entrance. Before she pushed in, she gave Arizona a light kiss on the lips. Arizona nodded her head slightly, indicating to Callie that she was ready.

With Arizona ready, Callie slowly pushed the strap on into Arizona's wet centre. She watched as Arizona's eyes closed, her mouth making an 'O' shape as she adjusted to thick member now inside her. Once she was fully inside Arizona, Callie stopped, letting Arizona adjust. She lovingly stroked Arizona's golden hair as she placed sweet kisses on her jawline, moving up to her ear.

"You okay," Callie whispered.

"Mmhmm," Arizona nodded. "It's just a bit bigger than I'm used to."

"We can stop if you want to."

"No. It feels so good. Besides, if I want to stop, I will use the safe word."

Callie nodded at Arizona's confirmation that she wanted to continue. Before the had both gotten changed, they had decided to use a safe word in case either of them got uncomfortable and wanted to stop. It seemed like the best way to deal with this and it hadn't taken them long to agree on a word.

With a deep kiss on Arizona's mouth, Callie started to thrust her hips slowly. She pulled out of the kiss to watch Arizona's face as she moved the dildo in and out of her. Callie placed her hands on either side of Arizona's head, trying to give herself more room to thrust faster and harder. Watching Arizona respond to being fucked was doing things to Callie, things she had never experienced before. It was bringing out something primal in her, something that she was slowly losing control over. Feeling Arizona's heels dig into her back was not helping her in any way.

"Fuck, Callie. I'm gonna cum. Don't stop," Arizona moaned loudly. "Right there."

It didn't take many more thrusts for Arizona's orgasm to take hold of her body. The blonde writhed underneath the brunette as wave after wave of pleasure pulsed through her body. Watching Arizona recover from her orgasm had Callie practically dripping wet. It was maybe the hottest thing she had ever seen.

"Holy fuck," Arizona puffed as she finally regained control of her breathing. The things Callie was capable of making her feel were limitless at this stage. "I almost passed out."

"I know, it was very sexy," Callie purred as she stroked Arizona's face. "I promise if you had I would have given you mouth to mouth."

"Cause you need the excuse of me passing out to do that," Arizona joked, smiling up at her brunette beauty.

"Nope," Callie confirmed before leaning down and kissing Arizona again.

The movement of the bed broke Arizona from her deep sleep. Groaning, she rolled over to find Callie's side empty but still warm. Squinting one eye open, Arizona could see a fuzzy shape moving through the bedroom.

"Don't go," Arizona said softly, her voice raspy from the previous night's activities.

Hearing the soft voice, Callie turned around from the wardrobe from where she was picking her outfit. The smile of her lips appeared automatically. She took in the blonde mess of hair that was lying in front of her, eyes trying to open but failing at their attempts.

"I have to go pick up Sofia, her flight lands in a couple of hours," Callie answered before turning back to her clothes.

"She can just catch an Uber," Arizona suggested as she stretched, hoping to wake herself up.

"I'm not letting my 16-year-old daughter catch an Uber home from the airport by herself," Callie laughed. "Besides, I've missed her and I know you have."

"I'm going to miss the loud, crazy sex more I think," Arizona answered, a smirk on her face as she finally got her eyes to open.

"It wouldn't be special if we did it all the time," Callie smiled back as she placed the clothes she picked on the bed.

Sitting up, Arizona wrapped the bed sheet around her naked torso. "No morning cuddles makes me feel cheap," she pouted.

"I'll leave coffee for you downstairs before you go," Callie chuckled. She leant forward and placed a quick kiss on Arizona's lips.

"Oh," Arizona said disappointedly. She hadn't officially moved in, but it felt like she had. Most of her clothes were here, she had a key, she slept here almost every night and even though Callie hadn't asked, it had happened naturally. She had thought that when Sofia got home the three of them would spend time together. After the events of Miami, Arizona could see why Callie might want to spend time alone with Sofia. Without another thought, she threw the covers off her and started to find some clothes to get dressed.

"I don't think I've seen you get ready so quickly," Callie mused as she watched Arizona throw her clothes on and then put her hair up into a messy ponytail. "Well, only for sex related things. I haven't put the coffee on yet."

"I'll grab some on the way home," Arizona replied, a tight smile on her lips.

"Wait, you're going home? I thought you would be going to work today," Callie said, confused as to why Arizona was suddenly acting so strange.

"Yes, I'm going home, it's not like I live here."

Before Callie would reply, Arizona put a quick kiss on her cheek and left the room. Once the front door had been shut and Callie heard Arizona's car drive down the street, she was engulfed by the silence. They hadn't really fought, but it had felt more like a fight than anything else. Was Arizona annoyed that she hadn't asked her to move in? She really thought she had to. With a shrug of her shoulders, Callie grabbed her handbag and headed downstairs. Once she had a fresh cup of coffee in her hands, she left to go and get her daughter from the airport.

Walking out of the tunnel, Sofia immediately started scanning the crowd for familiar faces. Once she spotted one, she took off, running towards it.

"MAMA," she yelled as she got closer.

"Mija," Callie smiled as Sofia was finally in her arms. This was the longest they had spent a part and Callie was so glad to have her daughter back home. "I missed you."

Sofia smiled as she felt a kiss being placed on the top of her head. "I missed you too," she sighed. "Oh! I have a surprise for you!"

Before Callie could ask what it was, she heard a familiar voice in front of them.

"Torres! You're looking good!"

"Dad's here for a visit," Sofia smiled.

"I can see that. How are you Mark?" Callie smiled up at her best friend. It had been far too long since they had last seen each other. "Fatherhood beating you down? You're getting a bit grey there."

"I'm still handsome as hell," Mark laughed back as the two embraced. "You're just jealous. Now, where's this Arizona I haven't stopped hearing about for the last like two weeks?"

"Uh, she's working today, I think. I'll text her and see if she wants to come out for dinner."

When Arizona didn't respond to her text about dinner, Callie dropped Mark and Sofia at home and left, pretending that she needed to go out and get groceries now they had an extra guest. It was like Arizona to not respond to one of her texts. Whenever they weren't together, they were in constant contact. Maybe they did have a fight this morning. Things had been going well since they got back from Miami but she knew that Arizona wanted to talk about the things that had happened and Callie didn't. There had been a slight awkwardness between them.

Callie had only been to Arizona's apartment a couple of times. She had forgot what number apartment Arizona was, she'd had to go back through text messages to find it. Standing at the door, she hesitated knocking, afraid that when she did open the door, a full-blown fight would happen. They didn't say a lot of things to each other so it would stand to reason that it would all come out in a fight.

Finally convincing herself to knock, Callie waited patiently for Arizona to answer. Staring at the door, Callie twisted her fingers in her palms, trying to calm her nerves. Hearing the clicks of the locks, Callie took a deep breath and waited for her blonde beauty to open the door.

"Calliope," the sweet voice said softly, "I wasn't expecting you."

"You weren't responding to my texts, so I wanted to come and check on you."

"Sorry, I've been busy," Arizona said, forcing a smile, her eyes avoiding looking directly into Callie's. She didn't need her to see the hurt that she was trying to hide.

"Can I come in?"

Arizona's reply came in a small nod before she moved out of the way to allow Callie past.

"Mark's here. He flew back with Sofia as a surprise," Callie informed her lover as she entered the apartment.

"That's so nice. Sofia must be so excited," Arizona replied, following Callie in.

The two stood awkwardly in the kitchen. Arizona wanting to apologise for the way she reacted but too stubborn to admit that Callie had hurt her. She wasn't even sure what Callie had done to hurt her. She was also close to asking Callie to talk about Miami, but she knew she wouldn't get anywhere.

Callie on the other hand just wanted to grab Arizona and kiss her, ask her what was wrong. All she knew was that she had said something this morning that had pushed Arizona away. Talking had never been there strong suite but it felt that this was something they couldn't avoid or dance around.

"Yeah she is. She was excited to introduce her dad to you," Callie answered, hoping to get Arizona talking. "You're special to her and she has told Mark all about you."

"Special to just her?"

Callie paused. Arizona was hurt. It was blaringly obvious now that she had done something to make Arizona doubt her feelings. After their talks about kids and marriage, Callie was sure Arizona knew how she felt about her.

"Both of us," Callie confirmed. "You're special to both of us."

Arizona nodded, finally bringing her eyes up to make contact with the deep brown ones in front of her.

"What happened this morning? Did I do something to make you not want to talk to me?"

Sighing, Arizona moved closer to Callie. She knew this was coming but she had hoped that they would just ignore it, let her get over it and then go back to normal.

"This morning when you were getting ready, you said that you would leave coffee for me before I left, and I just felt like you were kicking me out. I get that you probably wanted to spend time alone with Sofia, but it made me feel cheap after the night we had. It seemed like you didn't want me around, but you didn't want to say it."

Callie listened to Arizona, shocked that something that was a throwaway had affected her girlfriend so much. It was never her intention to make Arizona feel that way. She had meant it as nice gesture before her girlfriend had to work.

"I always want you around Arizona. I definitely wasn't kicking you out," Callie reassured her. When Callie could see Arizona's gaze drop again, she knew that the blonde did not believe her.

"Did you want me there tonight, for Sofia's first night home? Or are you just saying that because I got upset?"

"I just, thought you'd be going into work today, so I wanted you to have coffee. I had the best intentions and I definitely wanted you to be there with Sofia on her first night home."

"Whose home though Callie? Is it our home or your home?"

The question that had been sitting on Arizona's tongue now hung in the air. Callie hadn't been expecting that to come out of Arizona's pretty mouth. It shocked them both but now it was something they had to talk about.

"I don't know what you want from me," Callie asked.

"I need to know where we stand! I mean, one day we're talking about kids and then the next I have no idea if we live together or not?"

"It's a big decision, Arizona."

"I basically live with you already," Arizona argued, her voice starting to raise.

"Then why is it such a big deal," Callie fight back.

"Because it is! We never talk about this stuff and I want to talk about it! I need to know where I stand with you!"

Callie took a deep breath, she didn't want this to be a fight, she hadn't been expecting a fight. All she had wanted to do was curl up on the couch with her two favourite girls and watch trashy tv shows. The summer break was over soon, and Callie wanted to enjoy what free time they had left.

"Arizona, I don't want to fight about this. I didn't come to fight with you," Callie begged.

"What did you come to do then," Arizona asked, finally holding Callie's gaze for longer than 2 seconds.

"How about dinner tonight? Come and meet Mark? If not for me, then for Sofia."

There was a brief pause as Arizona thought about Callie's words. She knew she had overreacted, and hearing Callie's words calmed her a lot. Only now she felt stupid for acting the way she did. There was something about Callie that always left her feeling vulnerable and open.

"Yeah, that sounds great," Arizona finally answered, a forced smile on her face.

"Awesome," Callie smiled, "I'll text you the details?"

"Okay," Arizona replied. "We haven't finished this conversation though."

"I know," Callie replied before leaving the apartment. They both had some thinking to do, Callie more than Arizona. Arizona had laid her cards out for the moment and now it was time for Callie to figure out what she wanted.

When Callie got home, she could tell the Sofia knew something was up. It was unlike her to not return without Arizona, but they both needed some space. She forced the conversation to never end up on Arizona. The only mention of the blonde came when Callie told them she was coming to dinner. Information that was only given appease Sofia and stop her from asking more questions. Never letting things go until she got the answer she wanted, was a trait she had inherited from Mark. It was better to not let them get started, then try to stop them once they had started.

As they were in the car driving to the restaurant, Arizona messaged Callie to let her know that she was running late. Callie's deep sigh caught Mark's attention as he was driving. He had held his tongue since Callie got home but he could tell that something was bothering her.

"Wanna talk about it?"

Hearing Mark's question, Callie quickly checked over her shoulder to make sure that Sofia was too busy on her phone to hear their conversation.

"Not really."

"It's an Arizona thing isn't it? C'mon Torres, you know I can read you like an open book."

"Fine. Yes, it's Arizona thing but I don't get why it's a thing."

"What's the problem?"

"She thinks I kicked her out this morning because I haven't officially asked her to move in."

"So, ask her to move in with you. There. Problem solved!"

"It's not that simple, Mark. I have to think about Sofia in all of this," Callie argued.

"Now you're just finding excuses. Sofia loves Arizona, possibly more than you," Mark countered.

Callie couldn't think of a response. He was right. Sofia did love Arizona, a lot. There was no way she could use Sofia as an excuse for not asking Arizona to move in. In fact, Sofia was a great reason for her moving in. Maybe with Sofia being so invested, meant that there was more at stake if things went wrong. Callie couldn't risk Sofia getting hurt again because of her choices.

"Yeah, maybe," Callie sighed as she stared out the car window.

Sitting in the booth of the restaurant, the three made small talk as they waited for Arizona to join them. She had texted as they sat down to say that she was on her way. Callie was feeling nervous. Their last conversation did not go the way she wanted. She had no idea if Arizona had calmed down or if she was going to get the cold shoulder. Anxious butterflies filled her stomach as seconds ticked by. Callie's mind was elsewhere, Sofia and Mark's laughs sounded as if they were worlds away.

What if Arizona had a point. They hadn't really spoken about their future, well, only in hypotheticals. They hadn't sat down and had a proper conversation. They didn't even really tell each other how they felt. They kind of showed each other, but neither one of them had said those 3 little words. Did Callie feel that way about Arizona? What if she was just was lonely and couldn't be single?

"Arizona," Sofia said happily as the blonde entered the restaurant.

Callie turned her head to find the blonde that had been consuming her thoughts walk towards them.

"I'm so sorry I'm late," Arizona as she smiled and sat down next to Callie. "Hey."

"Hey," Callie greeted Arizona before they shared a chaste kiss. Callie calmed as she felt Arizona's hand rest on the thigh of the leg that wouldn't stop bouncing.

"Arizona," Sofia said excitedly, getting her attention, "this is my dad Mark."

"Of course! It's so nice to meet you!"

"it's nice to finally meet you," Mark agreed, shaking Arizona's hand, "I've heard a lot about you."

"Oh! I hope only good things," Arizona smiled at Callie and Sofia.

"Amazing things," Mark smiled, rubbing his hand on Sofia's head, "Nugget hasn't shut up about you for the last two weeks. Constantly talks about your tutoring sessions."

"She's pretty amazing herself," Arizona smiled at the younger girl.

An awkward silence filled the space as they four of them looked around, not knowing what to say next. Callie sat there wanting to talk to Arizona about their previous conversation, Arizona wanted to ask Callie how she felt about them, Mark wanted to ask them what was going and Sofia wanted to ask why they all felt like they didn't want to be there.

Arizona was the first one to break the silence, asking if anyone wanted a drink. Once everyone had given her their drink orders, Sofia offered to go with her to order and help carry them all back.

"So, how long have you guys been together," Mark asked Callie once Sofia and Arizona left to go order drinks.

"Um, almost a year now," Callie said, amazed at how long it had been.

"I can't believe Sofia likes her. Every time you've been in a relationship since she was old enough to talk, all she would do is call me and tell me how much she hated them and wished you would break up with them. She calls me now to tell me stories about Arizona," Mark said to Callie, smiling as he took a sip of his drink. "I don't think anyone before blondie has ever paid Sofia much attention."

"Uh, I am not in love with Arizona. I care about her deeply but, it's too soon," Callie said quickly.

"Yeah sure. I can see it all over your face. You're in love with her. It looks good you Torres. You've got a glow about you. If I was single and you were single, I'd say let's make another Sofia," Mark joked.

"You're so gross," Callie laughed, throwing a piece of bread at him.

"What's gross," Arizona asked as they re-joined the booth.

"Just Mark being pervy, nothing new," Callie answered.

"Don't pretend Torres, you know I'm right," Mark smirked at her.

"Right about what," Sofia asked, looking between her parents.

"Nothing, he's being an idiot," Callie responded as she glared at Mark, her eyes telling him to shut up.

"How about, after dinner, we drop those two nerds here back home and you and I can go daddy/daughter bowling. I've been practicing so I don't think you're going to beat me this time," Mark suggested.

"All the practice in the world isn't going to stop me from whooping your ass," Sofia joked with her dad.

"Language," Callie chimed in.

"Sorry Ma," Sofia sincerely before looking up at her dad who winked.

The whole way home, all Callie could think about was Mark saying they were in love. What if Arizona didn't feel the same way? What if she has decided she doesn't want to be with Callie anymore because she didn't ask her to move in? They had talked about some of Callie's past relationships but never in too much detail. Arizona didn't know everything, just that she hadn't been treated very well by her ex's. She didn't even realise that they were home until Mark and Sofia were saying goodbye.

"Calliope," Arizona called out, trying to get her attention. Arizona just stared at the Latina. "Are you okay?"

Callie looked up, finally making eye contact with the blonde. She didn't know how to answer the blonde. She couldn't get her brain to slow down. The what ifs wouldn't stop circling around in her brain. Her heart was beating, and it was the only thing she could hear in that moment. Mark's words kept playing in her head. The word 'love' echoing around and never stopping. The only people who have loved her have hurt her and left her.

"I can't do this anymore," Callie finally said after the longest pause between the two.

"What," Arizona asked, shocked at the confession from her brunette.

"I can't do this," Callie confessed again.

"Bullshit," Arizona spat at her. "You're just scared. Scared because you actually have feelings for me. And you know I have them for you. This is real between us and that terrifies you! Are we even going to talk about this, or have you just decided this?"

"Do you love me," Callie asked the blonde. They both paused, shocked at the question that just came out of her mouth.

"Calliope," Arizona pleaded.

"Do you? Because I see the way you look at me and you won't say it! Why won't you say it?"

"Because I don't trust you, you have such a big heart and I love that about you but how do I know you're in love with me and not being in love? How am I different to Mark and George and Erica? I just need more time!"

"We've been together for almost a year," Callie argued.

"You haven't said it," Arizona shot back. "Is this because I asked about us living together? I know you're scared of what us being in love means."

All Callie could do was cry. Arizona knew her better than anyone ever had. Could read her like her favourite book. She brought her hands to her face and dug her palms into her eyes, hoping it would keep her from taking it all back. Why was she ruining the best thing that had ever happened to her? But she couldn't stop herself, the words came out of their own accord.

"Arizona, please don't make this harder than it already is. I just, can't do this to you any longer. I don't want you to get hurt because I don't feel the same," Callie said from behind her hands.

"If you're going to break up with me, the least you could do is look me in the eyes and tell me," Arizona said angrily. She couldn't believe Callie was doing this. They had been so good together, everything had been perfect. She was falling in love with Callie and Sofia. It was the family she never knew she wanted or needed in her life and now it was being taken from her. Nothing she could say would change that either. Callie was stubborn and now Arizona was heartbroken.

Arizona watched as Callie slowly lowered her hands from eyes that were red and blotchy. Tears threatened to spill from both of their eyes as they finally made eye contact. Callie took a deep breath as she prepared to say the words she didn't really want to say but knew she had to.

"It's over, Arizona. We're over. We can't be together. I don't love you."

They both stared at each other as the words fell out of Callie's mouth. She immediately wanted to take them back, but her pride wouldn't let her. Why was she so insistent on pushing Arizona away when all she wanted was to have her close? Callie could see the heartbreak written all over Arizona's face. In an instant, her eyes went steely blue and the heartbreak was pushed down.

"Fine."

It was the last word Arizona spoke to her before she stormed out of the house and slammed the door behind her. Callie's heart shattered and so did her resolve. She slowly slid down the wall and sobbed. Sobbed for her lost love. Sobbed for everything she had destroyed. Sobbed because she knew there was nothing she could do now to fix. Her heart screamed at her to run after Arizona, but her head knew better. It had to be this way.

"Mama!"

Callie heard her daughter call out to her as she sat on her bed trying to pull herself together. Sofia was going to be devastated. The young girl had fallen for Arizona as much, if not more than Callie had. Taking a deep breath, Callie stood up and started walking downstairs. All she could hear was the pure happiness radiating from her daughter as she joked with her dad. The sound of laughter from the two of them filling the house that had earlier been consumed by the sounds of heartbreak.

"Oh my god Ma, Dad is terrible at bowling," Sofia laughed as she heard her mother walk down the stairs. "He couldn't even…" Sofia stopped midsentence as Callie came into view. Her eyes took in the view of her mother. Messy bun, red eyes, puffy cheeks and sweats only meant one thing in the Torres household.

"You didn't. Did you," Sofia asked Callie.

"Didn't what," Mark asked in confusion.

The three of them stared at each other in silence. Callie afraid to answer because she knew once she confirmed the bad news, she wouldn't be able to stop crying. Sofia afraid to answer her dad in case she was right. Well, she knew she was right, but she didn't want the words to leave anyone's mouth and burst the happy bubble they had all been in since Arizona had come into their lives.

"Break up with Arizona," Sofia answered for her mother after Callie didn't. The words barely a whisper.

All Callie could do was nod before the tears flowed down her cheeks.

Sofia said nothing. She didn't know what to say. Usually when her mother's relationships ended, she felt relief. Otherwise she felt happy. Break ups usually meant her plans had worked. But now? Now she couldn't feel anything. It was as if the world stopped spinning. Was this what heartbreak felt like? If it was Sofia never wanted to feel it again.
