Disclaimer: You know the drill
AN: Written for Marigami May, this is a collection of drabbles dedicated to our favourite blade master and our favourite fashion designer.
It was a simple juice date.
Nothing to be worried about. Just two friends having a drink of orange juice together. Nothing exceptional. It wasn't like she had never done this before. And it was with Kagami. Just Kagami. She knew Kagami very well. She was just a friend. A very good friend. A very good friend who she had been having...interesting and weird dreams about. Marinette was straight after all. She liked boys like Adrien and Luka.
Admittedly she thought that her friend was extremely attractive and thoughtful and despite her somewhat stoic and harsh exterior, was actually very sweet. But that meant nothing really. Just an observation really.
"Marinette!"
Tikki's voice cut through her inner monologue and Marinette resisted the urge to glare at the tiny red bug. She was right of course. She had to get ready or she was going to be late. And she really didn't want to be late for Kagami. She deserved better than that. No, really, she did!
Kagami really deserved someone special. Someone who appreciated her many good qualities.
Marinette continued to dance about her room, pulling on clothes and make up carefully. She had to look her best for Kagami after all.
"What do you think Tikki?" Marinette asked as she spun around. She was wearing a nice dress. Red with black spots on and her hair was tied up in a bun.
"You look really good Marinette!" Tikki said with a hint of amusement. "You're really going to impress Kagami."
"I know Tikki. She deserves the best and someone who looks as good as her!"
"Are you trying to impress Kagami Marinette?" Tikki asked and Marinette blushed slightly.
"No, of course not, she's just a friend," Marinette said with a slight blush. Tikki looked skeptical. "No really, she's just a friend!"
Tikki chuckled and Marinette blushed even harder.
"No, we're just two friends on a juice date. A normal juice date. It's perfectly normal. Nothing to see really."
"If you say so Marinette," Tikki said with a hint of amusement. Marinette said nothing. She opened her purse and gestured to Tikki to fly inside. She rushed down the steps and out the front door. (She ignored the slight giggling from her purse. Honestly, Tikki was almost as bad as Alya about this! Kagami was a FRIEND. A very good FRIEND. A very good FRIEND who she was going on a juice date with. A very good FRIEND who she had accidently dreamed about kissing. A FRIEND. Do you hear here universe!?. A very good FRIEND. Nothing more, nothing less. Was it really such a hard thing to understand!?)
"Greetings Marinette," Kagami said as Marinette reached the cafe they always went.
"Hello Kagami!" Marinette said as her heart lifted. (No she was NOT in denial! No really, she wasn't. At all! Shuttup brain, you don't know what you're talking about!) "Am I late?" She paused and looked at her phone. She was exactly on time.
"No. I am merely slightly early. Mother thought that I should be ready for you," Kagami said and Marinette smiled. That was so sweet that her girlfri-I mean friend. FRIEND, damnit brain, FRIEND wanted to be ready for her. It was actually endearing really. "For some reason, mother thought that I would like to be more prepared than normal. She seemed to be amused by the idea."
"Oh? That's...unexpected," Marinette said.
"I do not know why she was amused by the idea. We are merely good friends."
"I have no idea either," Marinette said as the two girls went to their favourite table and ordered their drinks.
