"There is a spy watching us."

Adrien was so taken aback by Kagami's statement that he almost dropped his sword.

"Are you sure?" he asked, slightly incredulously and Kagami nodded.

"Yes," she said. "They do not appear to have seen us yet. They have been watching us for some time. They may be from a rival team. We should deal with them now."

"Pretend to retreat. That will allow us to come closer to our spy," she said and she launched a rapid array of attacks at Adrien. Adrien stepped back, allowing the familiar dance of blades to drive him back towards their mysterious spy. Whoever it was, was certainly getting a good show if nothing else. Kagami gave him a slight nod of her head and he stepped aside. Kagami leapt onto the wall and the mysterious spy fell back with a yelp, her arms flailing wildly.

Adrien turned and smiled. He'd recognise that yelp anywhere.

"Why are you spying on us?" Kagami demanded before Adrien could say anything.

"I...gah...blah..."

"It's okay Kagami," Adrien said with a small smile. "It's just Marinette."

"She is a spy. I wish to know what she intends to do with that knowledge," she said coldly. "The fact that she is your former girlfriend has no bearing on the matter."

"Are you spying on us Marinette?" Adrien asked with a small smile, but his eyes were dancing with amusement. Marinette glared at him, but he continued to smirk.

"Are you spying on your former boyfriend Marinette?" Kagami asked and Marinette somehow managed to fall over again, even though she was still on the floor. It was almost impressive.

"I-no-buh-blah," Marinette flailed and Adrien smirked even harder. Kagami's gaze narrowed. He knew something, she was sure of it! Maybe he enjoyed still havig the attentions of Marinette? She was a pretty girl and no doubt he considered the attention flattering, but she was his ex-girlfriend and Marinette deserved better than to be hung up on a boy that she herself had left.

"Marinette, you are a very beautiful girl. You deserve better than to be stuck on your former boyfriend," Kagami said and Marinette blushed. ""You deserve someone who appreciates your creativity and kindness and beauty and talent." For a moment, Kagami thoughts drifted to herself, before mentally shaking the image away. It was a ridiculous hope really. Marinette liked boys. Boys like Adrien and Luka. She turned to face Marinette once more. "One of the worst mistakes a fencer can make isn't picking the wrong attack. It's picking the wrong target. You should change your target from Adrien to someone who can make you happy."

"I-gah-buh-" Marinette flailed about blushing as she did. Adrien was suppressing an amused smile, but what was so funny, Kagami didn't know. She turned and returned to her fencing position.

"Adrien, we should continue," she said and Adrien nodded. He said something to Marinette about having better luck next time and the two of them resumed their practice.
