The cabin.
Bo stirred in her sleep. She felt very warm and weighed down a bit. She slowly opened her eyes and looked down. Charlotte and Chloe were in her arms making baby sounds. She moved a bit and noticed Lauren's hands holding them in place.
"Good morning". Lauren kissed the top of Bo's head.
"Good morning!". Bo smiled as she bounced the babies.
"They have been up for hours". Lauren made faces at Charlotte and smiled when she made faces back.
"Did I keep you in bed?". Bo asked.
"Of course. We've all been so comfortable and relaxed". Lauren smiled as Bo moved in her arms. They had made love all night. When Lauren got up to check on the kids, she brought them into the bedroom and pulled Bo on top of her and the kids on top of Bo.
"We can get up now, if you want". Bo spoke softly.
"We are on vacation. Where do we have to go or do? We're good right where we are''. Lauren cooed.
"Lauren. You don't have to do this. You don't have to babysit me." Bo looked up and caught the blonde's eyes.
"I'm not doing that, Bo. I'm being a mother and a wife. I want you to feel all the love and devotion around you. That's why I went to get the kids. To bring them in here with us so we will be a family in one big bed. To show that I'm still here, right where I belong. Where I've always belonged. I love you and I know you were scared yesterday. But I'm back now and we are here, on vacation." Lauren stared into dark eyes. Three sets to be exact.
"We do need to put the kids somewhere else. I have a few things to say and I want to be sitting up for this". Bo gently raised up and Lauren took a baby from her.
The women put the babies in their nursery room and put robes on. Lauren started a fire and Bo sat waiting for her to come and sit down.
"Lauren, this is something I've never come right out and said before. When I first met you, I didn't know what we would have. If we could have anything beyond friendship since I killed every lover that I took to bed. That is until Dyson and those injections you gave me. I know you didn't have to defy the Ash like that. But you wanted to help. You've always wanted to help people. Even those that didn't deserve it. Even me, at times. That's one of many things that made me fall in love with you. I was in love with you the first time that we made love. I call it that, now, because that's what it was. For the hurt afterwards, I did everything that I could to get you out of my mind. I even wanted to burn my bed when I remembered us there. There was no going back for me, ever. Nobody has ever meant as much to me as you have since day one. I wanted a relationship because you were a human then and I know humans don't have time to play around with. Your life was so fragile. When you asked for the break, I cried so hard thinking of you dying someday. A day I wouldn't be there for. A moment I'd miss saying goodbye. Then you really died. You died when I was downstairs with Kenzi. I wasn't there to say goodbye to you. Then you were gone and the loneliness set in rather quickly and I had nothing. Nothing, again. Nothing but your body and that tombstone. When you left yesterday I got that feeling again, you would die and I wouldn't be there to say goodbye. Then you came back again. I never want to say goodbye because it sounds so final and lonely. So, from now on, I'll say see you later, babe". Bo cried into the blonde's hands. Lauren pulled back and rubbed her hands dry on her robe.
"Bo, I am never going to leave you. Not like that, again. I can't go back. It's not physically possible for me to die again. I can send people to Valhalla. But I can't ever be a full-time guest myself." Lauren pulled the woman on her lap.
Bo snuggled into her arms and rested her head on her shoulder. "I'm sorry. I will get better. It will just take some time".
"You don't have to be sorry. I'd be worried if you didn't feel this way. But time and space is what this trip is about. I told the Queen and Aife that we are taking as much time away as we need. You don't have to rush your healing for anyone. Not even me. I don't expect it all to be perfect when we go home but for now, this is home. This is our family. Our sanctuary from chaos." Lauren squeezed Bo.
"Shit. The kids haven't eaten". Bo popped up.
"I fed them. They're okay". Lauren smiled.
"Did you eat something?". Bo asked.
"Not yet". Lauren replied.
"Then let's go whip something up. I know this place is probably packed with every food imaginable." Bo pulled on the blonde and they walked down to the kitchen.
Lauren busied herself on the other side of the kitchen. Back and forth they walked with food and other ingredients.
"Looks good to me". Bo licked her lips. It is never dull cooking something with an actual scientist around.
The women sat in the small dining room and ate quietly. The looks they gave each other did their talking for them. They put the dishes into the dish machine and walked back upstairs. They peeked in on the babies and found them sound asleep. Bo bent down and kissed the both of them and Lauren followed right behind her.
"I still can't believe they are ours. Little Fae babies". Bo whispered as they left the room.
"They are! And so is this one". Lauren gently tapped her stomach.
"My baby". Bo bent down and kissed Lauren's stomach. "So, I didn't really look around. What's there to do here?".
"Well, this place is much bigger than it looks. We have a huge bath and shower. A game room. A theater. A jacuzzi room and other guest rooms besides the kid's nursery room". Lauren answered.
Bo's eyes went wide at the word, jacuzzi. "Let's try the jacuzzi first". She pulled the woman into her arms.
They stripped and Bo helped Lauren inside. "Easy babe".
Bo climbed in and sighed. She looked at Lauren. The doctor had her head resting on the side, taking some deep breaths of her own. Bo leaned forward and pulled Lauren's foot into her hand. She started massaging it and the Doctor moaned at her touch.
"This could be home for good. But I love our first house more". Lauren spoke softly.
"Just relax, babe. You deserve this as much as I do." Bo turned to her left and put some classical music on. She leaned her own head back after she switched feet. After about half an hour, they climbed out and showered.
Queen Isabeau and Dagny
Dagny stood shyly in front of the Queen. The woman looks imposing from any angle.
The Queen stared at Dagny. While she knows she should say something. She's not sure what to say yet. The young Valkyrie hasn't had an easy life or existence. But that is no excuse for her antics with Kenzi. "I don't expect much from you, Dagny. But you and Kenzi are not exactly model citizens. Aife is helping her and I will be helping you. The crazy days of pickpocketing people and trying to run other games on people are over. This is my land. I will be fair with humans and Fae. Those that obey, that is. But any plotting against me and mine, will result in hard consequences. You're still young to the world because you aged rapidly. That's the only thing saving you right now. That and being Bo's sister. You are going to have to grow up a lot to gain their trust. You should have come to me before you got into any shenanigans with Kenzi. I could have squashed them before you made a fool of yourself."
"I'm sorry Queen Isabeau. I didn't mean any harm to my nieces or Lauren. I owe Kenzi. She raised me when my mom passed away. I barely know Bo. Which means I barely know Lauren." Dagny spoke but never lifted her head after bowing.
"That's no excuse. You are big enough to know right from wrong. But since I am a busy woman and love my granddaughter, I will send you to my royal boot camp. Bruce will lead the troops and won't fall for any disobedience or laziness. You are lucky. This will be mild given what Aife is likely doing with Kenzi. Take her away, Cedric". Queen Isabeau spoke with a cold tone.
"Come on kid. The Queen is right and she's also not one to screw around with." Cedric gestured for Dagny to follow him. They walked down a hall she had never noticed before and he kept a fast pace. They finally arrived at a room filled with women.
"Get in here. I haven't got all day!". A burly woman screamed. Dagny ran over and stood stiff like the others.
Valhalla
"That doesn't sound so bad, Tam. We still don't know what Aife is going to do with Kenzi". Hale took his hat off.
"If I never had feelings for Bo, Dagny probably wouldn't exist. But she does. Bo cares about her on some level. That should preserve her life so that she doesn't make the same mistake as me. The only problem is if she ever gets pregnant, then she will join me". Tamsin pushed a pool ball into the hole.
"That's rough. I'm sorry, Tamsin". Hale spoke softly. Tamsin made the Fae life hell more just about everyone she came into contact with. All to find Bo.
"She'll live a long life as long as she keeps her nose clean. But the Queen won't put up with bullshit. We all saw that. She ran this place like a finely tuned private school. That is until Trick arrived. He softened her a bit and she softened him. She's Hades daughter. Perhaps, like Bo, she can make someone pregnant and not deliver the baby and die herself". Ciara chimed in.
"There's nothing I can do but watch. I can't defy Trick again. She just has to remember what I told her. Bo and Lauren have every right to be upset. My daughter is far better off where she is, with the Queen. I pissed off a few people in my life. My kid doesn't need to be sacrificed as payback". Tamsin took a beer and drank it.
Aife and Kenzi
The Succubus watched in amusement as Kenzi was almost crawling in front of her car. "Get that little bitch up and into another car, but not mine."
A guard jumped out of Aife's car and threw Kenzi into the last car in their entourage.
Kenzi welcomed the chance to sit down. She didn't want to give Aife the satisfaction of knowing she was tired. But the boots she is wearing did a number on her feet, so she took them off. She massaged foot after foot as they drove to wherever they were going. She started to wonder if they were actually going somewhere or if the Succubus just wanted to make her walk until she dropped. There were a few times that she almost did. She leaned back in her seat and closed her eyes.
How could someone so smart be so dumb as to get involved with the Morrigan? She'd had better luck with the Ash. The first or second. But that's not where she screwed up, it's who she screwed up with. Lauren.
To be honest Bo did appear to be moving back and forth between the Doctor and the wolf. Although she never came out and told her she loves him like she did with Lauren. Then when Lauren didn't come back, she really thought they were done. Now she knows that was stupid too. To think those two would be done after hearing them so many nights and mornings. She thought of the sadness in Lauren's eyes when she asked how Bo was doing when Kenzi stopped by while Lauren was entertaining the Morrigan. Kenzi and Bo could talk about anything and be back to being best buds. But this talk comes with a whole family behind her. She sighed when the cars finally parked.
Kenzi gasped when she saw where they were, a cemetery. "What are we doing here?". She gulped.
"Bring her". Aife spoke as she walked away from her jeep.
Kenzi took some deep breaths the longer they walked. She stopped when Aife stopped. This is it, the end of her life. She looked around for someone or something to scream for help.
"Read the name". Aife gestured at a tombstone.
"Galina Malikov". Kenzi swallowed.
"She took a trip with your Cousins. They all died in a plane crash. Lucky bastards. I would have done far worse to them, but you know, the Queen and humans". Aife laughed. "You will join your little family here if you ever screw with ours again".
Kenzi started to cry. While she kicked her mother out of her life, she never wanted to see her cousins die.
"Nobody left to steal anything for you huh? That nice life you were living with Isabeau as a con no longer exists". Aife turned serious.
"What do you want from me?". Kenzi sobbed.
"I want you to die. But I can't kill you. So, I will train you. Train you to think about the Royals before you think at all. Train you to think about the bigger picture. Your piss-poor street life days are over. These are the Queen's streets. Rats need her permission to cross the street. So, get up girl. We've got a whole day ahead of us." Aife nodded for Kenzi to be taken back to the cars. She was thrown in.
She looked at her seat and saw a fresh set of scrubs and tennis shoes. "I don't wear shoes like this".
"You will wear them. You will wear them until it's time for you to take them off. Now, get changed!." Aife slammed the door and walked to her own car. Once she was in they pulled off. This drive was far shorter than the other. They all climbed out and Kenzi was led into a hospital. One she had never been in before. She watched Aife talk to a woman at the desk and the woman nodded.
"Come with me, young lady". The woman stood.
"What's this?". Kenzi asked.
"We have patients here with bowel problems. You will change them when they have bowel movements which is mostly every minute. You are to work here until the woman here tells us you can stop". The woman explained pointing towards Aife.
"The Queen will hear about this!". Kenzi screamed.
"This is her hospital you little shit, now get to the shit". Aife took a seat on a lush couch. She is going to be there until she feels Kenzi has worked long enough. Which could be hours or days, depending on her mood.
She took a deep breath and thought about what led her here. She was given a small army but she didn't have her royal attire or duties. The other Royals are rightly upset with her. She never wanted to lie to Lauren, but if she knew what Bo did to herself she would still be upset. They are wives and parents now. The first ever among the Fae to have a relationship like that. They spent so many months and years doing things that kept them apart. Bo is afraid that will happen again, so Aife stepped in to try and prevent Bo from feeling ashamed of Lauren walking in on seeing what she'd done. The Doctor is brilliant and probably noticed Bo's fist mark like her signature kill mark.
"Bring me some wine". The Succubus settled back and waited.
Bo and Lauren
"This is nice". Bo cooed as Lauren lay on top of her.
"It is." Lauren kissed Bo's hand.
"Let me know if you get too cold, we can go back inside". Bo pulled a thick blanket over them and laid back down. They were relaxing in a hammock in the backyard. They have a tall gate big enough to keep creatures out.
"So, what do you want to do tonight?". Bo asked.
"Let's string up some lights in the backyard. On second thought". Lauren raised up and snapped her fingers. The fence was lined with lights and other decorations.
"It's not dark yet, but that will look beautiful". Bo smiled.
"So will you, when we change clothes again". Lauren smiled as she laid back down.
"What's up?". Bo asked.
"I'm taking my wife on a date to our backyard. We will dance. We will sing. We will eat. We will drink some juice. Sorry, wine is out". Lauren smiled.
"Of course, the wine is out. But I will leave the singing part up to you. Hey! Karaoke would be fun". Bo smiled.
"It will. I will call and have someone bring us the set up for it. We can keep it here in the house for our next trip back out here". Lauren pulled her phone out and dialed.
Within the next few hours everything came together. The women only parted so they could dress without the other seeing what the other was wearing. Lauren walked outside first and looked everything over. She walked over to the fire pit and lit a fire. She then walked to the Karaoke machine to make sure it was ready too.
"Look my loves, mama is going to sing to us". Bo smiled as she emerged from the house.
Lauren stopped. Bo was in a white dress and she was absolutely stunning. She even dressed Charlotte and Chloe in little dresses, thick coats and hair bows adorned their hair.
"We need to feed them first". Lauren smiled.
"Sure! This is their time too". Bo sat at the smaller table and they sat each baby down to be fed. They paid close attention to any food droppings and their clothes getting dirty wouldn't matter because they can always afford new ones.
"Let's burp them". Lauren threw a towel over her shoulder. Bo nodded and picked Chloe up. After a few minutes they burped them and the women put fresh towels under them.
"Mrs. Lewis-Dennis? Will you and Chloe like to dance with Charlotte and me?". Lauren smiled.
"What do you think Chloe? Should we dance with mama and Charly?". Bo cooed. Chloe smiled at Bo and the mothers laughed. "I think that's a yes".
Lauren gently pulled Bo and Chloe to her. They danced until the kids fell asleep. They put them in the kitchen area and carried both baby monitors outside.
"Mrs. Lewis-Dennis". Lauren threw the towels into a bin and pulled Bo to her.
"You are going to spoil me, aren't you?". Bo spoke softly into long blonde locks.
"You should be spoiled. We both should. We are practically on a date right now. Those are going to be rare once the kids age." Lauren smiled.
"We will always have willing babysitters." Bo laughed.
"We can spoil each other, but they won't be spoiled". Lauren spun Bo around and dipped her.
"Easy babe!". Bo panted when Lauren pulled her back up.
"Easy like this?". Lauren spun Bo around and dipped her again.
Bo gasped when Lauren leaned in to kiss her. They stayed like that for what felt like an hour before Bo felt herself laying down. They were literally making out while laying in the air.
When Lauren finally set them down, Bo's mind was blown. "When did you learn that?".
"I never knew I could until tonight". Lauren smiled.
"That is going to come in handy. After the baby is born of course". Bo blushed.
"Time to have our own dinner". Lauren smiled as she pulled Bo to the other table.
"Then Karaoke!". Bo laughed.
