The day of July 7th had finally arrived, the whole guild having been in a frenzy of activity in the month leading up to the day. The guild was decorated tastefully with pink and red roses, ribbons of white tulle, and an arch decorated with billowing white fabric and red and pink flowers, with chairs set up in rows facing it. It was quiet in the guild hall, everyone busy getting ready for a wedding they had been waiting for for quite some time.
Lucy, Levy, Erza, Juvia, and Wendy had taken over the guild's infirmary to get ready, while the boys were using one of the smaller rooms on the first floor. There were dresses hung up throughout the room, and bouquets, shoes, and jewelry littered around everywhere.
Levy, as maid of honor, was helping Lucy put her dress on, and Juvia was taking care of Isa for her, along with Mikado, of course. The two babies were running her ragged, and Wendy was watching on with a smile as Juvia chased Isa, who had grabbed someone's shoe and was currently trying to run away with it on her chubby legs.
"Gotcha!" Juvia cried as she caught up to the one year old, and lifted her high into the air. Isa giggled and clapped, dropping the shoe onto Juvia's head.
Mikado was sitting calmly on a blanket in the corner watching her mommy, occupied with chewing on a teether that Gray had frozen for her. Her black curls were pulled up into high pigtails, and she had a headband on with a pink flower.
Erza strode into the room, her baby bump just barely showing in her pale pink bridesmaid's dress, the fabric draping around her frame elegantly, with a plunging neckline that showed off her growing breasts. Jellal sure was a lucky man.
"What is going on here?" she demanded, looking around at where Wendy was still not dressed, Juvia, also not dressed, was holding a giggling baby over her head, and Levy in her short pale pink dress was helping Lucy button hers.
"We are getting ready, Erza-san," Wendy said, walking over and touching Erza's arm gently. Since becoming pregnant, Erza was prone to angry mood swings, even more so than usual.
Erza grimaced. "We need to be ready soon if we want to be on time. This is Lucy's special day. It has to go absolutely perfect." She brushed a hand through Wendy's hair. "Let's get you in your dress," she told the young bluenette.
While Erza helped Wendy dress, Lucy called Cancer to help get their hair ready. Levy sat Lucy down to get her hair done first, and went over to help Juvia with the two little girls.
"Thanks," Juvia said, blowing a strand of hair out of her face as she handed Levy Isa. "They haven't given Juvia a moment's peace all morning."
"Sorry, Juvia," Levy said with a small smile. "She gets her energy from Gajeel."
Juvia giggled and walked back to Mikado and her things.
Juvia slid her dress over her body, loving the feel of the silky pink fabric on her skin. Her dress was more modest than Erza's in the neckline, but it had a thigh-high slit on both sides of her legs that she absolutely adored. It definitely had nothing to do with the fact that she knew Gray loved her legs and could barely keep his hands off them. She brought Mikado's dress over and helped the baby slide her grubby onesie off before putting on a fluffy white dress with a pink sash. Levy was just finishing putting Isa's matching dress on and the two women cooed over their cute little girls.
Cancer came up behind them as they were oohing and awwing. "Time for your new 'do, ebi," he said, snipping his scissors in the air.
Juvia sat still while he worked on her curls, putting them in a simple updo that was elegant, yet sexy. "Thank you, Cancer-san," she said, touching a soft curl that framed her face. "If Juvia's hair looks this nice, she can't wait to see Lucy-san." Suddenly a block flew through the air and hit Juvia in the arm. She sighed and looked at her smiling daughter, who was holding another block in her chunky fist.
Levy was back to helping Lucy put on her jewelry, and all there was left to do was wait for the ceremony to begin.
"Juvia!"
She turned when she heard Lucy's voice calling for her. She walked to the back of the room where Levy was just sliding Lucy's veil onto her golden head. Lucy was absolutely breathtaking in her long white dress, the beaded bodice sparkling in the lights. Her pink and red bouquet was sitting on the table next to her, and her long train was let down for the ceremony.
"Lucy-san! You look so beautiful! Natsu-san will be so happy to see you!" Juvia reached for her friend to give her a hug. Lucy accepted it gratefully.
"You really think so?" she asked with a nervous smile.
"Yes," Juvia and Levy both said.
"Are you ready to marry your best friend, Lu-chan?" Levy asked, tugging Lucy's arm to the doors.
Lucy swallowed, but nodded decidedly. "I'm ready," she said.
The girls waited to get the all clear to make sure Natsu wouldn't see Lucy, and walked outside the guild hall to wait with the guys before they walked down the aisle. Natsu was waiting under the flowered arch with Makarov, who was performing the ceremony.
When Gray saw his wife and baby girl in their dresses, his jaw dropped. "Juves, Meeks, you are so beautiful." He pulled them into his arms, and kissed both of them on the forehead.
"Thank you, Gray-sama," Juvia murmured shyly, giving him a look under her lashes.
When Gray saw the two slits up her dress, he groaned lowly. His hand gripped her leg, and he laid his head down in the crook of her neck. "I really like this dress," he said against her skin.
Juvia giggled, and pushed him away slightly. "Gray-sama, get your mind out of the gutter. We need to make sure we don't ruin Natsu-san and Lucy-san's special day."
Gray sighed, but tickled Mikado under the chin. "Alright, well we better get to our places then. But later," he paused, giving her a wicked smirk. "Later, this dress isn't even going to come off before I have you up against the wall."
Juvia gasped, but before she could respond, Gray was walking over to Levy, who he would be walking with, as he was best man.
By the time Lyra started playing a sweet melody, she was calmer, but her mind still whirled with thoughts of what Gray was going to do to her later. She placed Mikado in the little white wagon and arranged her dress around her. Then she walked over to Gajeel, leaving her baby in the care of Happy, Pantherlily, and Carla, who were walking with the kiddos.
"Hey, Sprinkler," Gajeel said. "You look good."
Juvia gave him a beaming smile. "Thanks, Gajeel-kun. You do, too."
The music changed to a different song, the cue to start the wedding. Wendy and Romeo were the first to walk down the aisle, Wendy blushing rosily with her arm threaded through Romeo's. Romeo had a proud smile on his face as he walked down with the lovely girl. Juvia had a feeling there would be a new couple in the guild soon. Then Juvia and Gajeel were up, walking comfortably next to each other to their places at either side of the archway. Erza and Jellal were next, Erza looking radiant with her pregnant glow and Jellal every inch the proud father walking next to his wife. When Gray and Levy were walking, all Juvia could see was her handsome husband, smiling a full smile and actually keeping every part of his suit on his body.
But her heart seemed to stop completely when she saw her baby being pulled in the wagon by Carla. Mikado was looking around her with curiosity and she had stuffed a flower petal in her mouth, but when she saw Gray next to Natsu, she started smiling and clapping. Isa walked hand in hand with Pantherlily, and she was sort of getting the hang of tossing petals onto the ground, until her fist got stuck in the basket and she flung it upside down to dump all the petals in one place on the ground about halfway down the aisle. Happy was being dragged down the aisle by Demir, who was running to his mom with the ring pillow left behind at the beginning of the aisle. Levy groaned, but Gajeel laughed at their strong son dragging the poor Exceed behind him.
When the kids made it to the end of the aisle, the Exceeds led them to chairs in the front row so they didn't have to stand and be still for the rest of the wedding.
Lyra started playing Pachelbel's Canon, and the audience, comprised mainly of Fairy Tail members along with friends from other guilds, stood up and turned to the doors, waiting for Lucy.
When the doors opened, Lucy paused at the entrance, letting everyone take their fill of her before walking slowly up the aisle. Her dress was a sweetheart neckline, princess style, with sparkling beads on the bodice and a long train following behind her. Her makeup subtly highlighted her face and brought out her best features. Her gold hair was swirled up into an elegant updo that made Lucy look even more like her mother.
When Natsu saw her, his eyes filled with tears. He would forever deny it any time Gray or Gajeel brings it up, but he knew then and there that he was the luckiest man in the world to have found Lucy. Lucy had to force herself to keep from running up the aisle into Natsu's arms. She couldn't wait to marry him, couldn't wait to become Lucy Dragneel.
The vows passed by in a blur, Makarov's eyes twinkling as he kept tears at bay. The kiss was beautiful, everything Lucy dreamed it would be, the whole ceremony everything she ever wanted. But best of all was the man she was sharing it with.
After the wedding, Lucy and Natsu danced, and Natsu, who had been practicing for weeks with Mira, didn't step on her toes once. He twirled his new wife in his arms, her dress flaring out and sparkling, a smile lighting up both of their faces.
"Okay, now it's time for the mother-son dance," the DJ announced, playing You Raise Me Up.
Levy smiled, hugging Demir to her chest as she swayed on the dance floor. It was getting to be his bedtime, and the little boy snuggled into his mama. Enno and Romeo danced nearby, waltzing to the song.
When it was over, the DJ announced, "And now, the daddy-daughter dance." I Loved Her First came through the speakers.
Alzack and Asuka were the first to the floor, followed quickly by Gildarts and Cana, who grumbled under her breath about her overbearing father, but her face gave away how happy she truly was. Gajeel swung Isa into his arms from where she was playing with Mikado, and he swayed onto the floor. Gray wasn't far behind, picking up Mikado and snuggling her into his chest. He nuzzled his face into her dark curls, smelling the shampoo Juvia loved to use and the sweet baby smell underneath.
When the song was over, Gray swayed to Juvia standing on the edge of the dance floor. He pulled her into his chest and spun her onto the floor, then back into him. He danced with his beautiful wife and gorgeous daughter for a long time, not wanting to let them go. Natsu seemed to be having the same problem with his new wife, for his hands were never far from Lucy's waist or hands.
"Juves," Gray whispered finally.
Juvia lifted her head from Gray's chest. "Yes, darling?"
"Let's go home. We should get Meeks to bed." He gestured to their sleeping daughter lying between their bodies.
"Juvia thinks we should dance with the new couple before we leave. Then yes."
Gray smiled. He kissed her forehead and spun her into Natsu's arms, keeping Mikado close to his chest as he went to Lucy.
Natsu started dancing with Juvia, and she had to admit, his lessons had certainly paid off. "Juvia and Gray-sama are taking Mikado home after this dance," she told him. "And Juvia also wishes you and Lucy-san a happy marriage. She is so happy for you."
Natsu beamed. "Thanks, Juvia. Got any advice?"
"Never go to bed angry. Never leave a fight for the morning, because it will fester and become much worse. Get it all out in the open right away."
Natsu laughed. "Me and Luce never fight!"
Juvia just smiled knowingly, and when the song ended, she hugged Natsu and went to find her husband and daughter. When she found them, Gray was standing next to a beet red Lucy. Juvia arched an eyebrow at her husband, but he mouthed later and gave Lucy a one-armed hug. Lucy hit his arm and he laughed, making Lucy's red expression turn into a glare.
"Alright, I'm ready to go home," he said, leading Juvia to the guild doors. Almost everyone was still there, but Levy and Gajeel had left, also having young children, and Erza and Mira had both gone home as well, since they were exhausted and had swollen feet.
"Why was Lucy-san so red?" Juvia asked as they walked home.
Gray laughed. "I was just telling her some things about the wedding night that she might not have known about."
Juvia giggled. "Juvia is pretty sure Lucy-san knows about those things, Gray-sama."
"I can almost guarantee she didn't based on her reactions," Gray said, shifting Mikado so she rested more comfortably against his chest.
Juvia threaded her fingers through Gray's and leaned against his shoulder as they walked.
When they got home, Juvia sat on the couch to take off her shoes while Gray laid Mikado down in her crib. Gray came down the stairs to find his wife asleep, one shoe off and the other still on, and he chuckled. He leaned over her to take off her other shoe and then picked her up, heart throbbing when she nuzzled her face into his bare chest, making contented little noises against his skin.
He brought the two of them to their bedroom and helped the sleepy Juvia put on a nightgown, kissing her lips before laying down next to her, content to sleep until their daughter woke them up the next morning.
The last thing Gray thought of before falling asleep was a wish for Natsu and Lucy to have the same happiness he had with Juvia and Mikado, and an excitement to see the family they would have in the future.
