From his private box a man listened to the symphony playing Beethovens fourth his features hidden by the shadows of the box which was fine he'd rather not be seen if he could help it
As the musicians below played the final notes his communicator beeped he frowned tapping his communicator "this is Judge" he said "what is it"
"Sorry to interrupt your private time Judge but Ben and Gobby just came back they've got some bad news" Miss Impossible said not sounding sorry in the least "I could come down there and tell you in person if you'd like" she offered flirtatiously Judge rolled his eyes he had no interest in Kim or any other woman not after
'No we're not thinking about that EVER' Judge thought wiping the tears from his eyes he stood up "I'm on my way" he said walked over placing his mask on his head hearing the familiar sound of the hinges locking into place he left the theatre through the back alley exit his private car was waiting for him stepping into the back the automatic driver took a back road to Justice Lords Headquarters
Judge watched as the massive steel and glass skyscraper that had been built over the remains of Vlad Masters Mansion came into view once the car stopped in front of the entrance Judge stepped out approaching the door he stepped towards the door a yellow light passed over his body as the scanner passed over his body
"Recognized Judge A01" the computer said Judge waited as the doors unlocked and the perimeter sensors shut down long enough for Judge to enter
The security system reactivating behind him
Judge entered the meeting room the others were already here Ben was fiddling with his Omnitrix Goblin had his mask off tossing one of his pumpkin bombs up into the air hopefully disarmed but who knows with Goblin
"Peter put that away" Kim said from her own chair looking up with a smile when Judge came into the room
"Let's get down to business" Judge said taking his seat at the table
Far away from Justice Lords Headquarters a portal opened Red Raven and the other heroes from Earth Fifteen stepped out into the alleyway Sam looked around seeing the alley the ground looked clean enough to eat off of "wow Paulina real dystopian world you love in" Sam said sarcastically
"No one's going to litter Pickles" Paulina told Sam "it's not worth the five years prison sentence"
The others eyes frowned at what the Lantern said
Paulina lead them through the alley deactivating her ring poking her head out of the alley Paulina checked if the coast was clear Danny was about to walk out when Paulina stopped him Danny was about to ask what was wrong when he watched a mechanical drone fly over the street it's red eye patrolling the street
"What the heck was that thing" Danny asked after it flew past
"Justice Lord Enforcer drone" Paulina said distastefully "anyone who breaks the law any law is taken to prison"
"I guess that explains why the streets are clear" Peter looking around at the clear streets
"The drones patrol for the Justice Lords" Paulina said "they only come to deal with vigilante scum" there was a bit of pride in her voice when she said vigilante scum
Pride and a bit of regret
"So then we have to keep off the street" Kim said "no big"
Antonio looked to Danny "guess your up Hermano"
"Got it" Danny nodded everyone gathered up together placing a hand on each others shoulders they turned intangible passing through the alley floor before another drone could pass overhead
Judge felt like a headache coming on as he listened to Negative ten and Miss Impossible argue again
"I still say I made the right call" Negative Ten told Miss. Impossible "your just upset that I got to take down Guardian"
"I would have kept him alive long enough to learn what he knows" Miss Impossible argued she crossed her arms "but someone got mad when they mentioned your little friend"
"I DID WHAT I HAD TO DO" Negative Ten yelled slamming his hand against the table he reached for his omnitrix Miss Impossible smirked standing up she activated her battle suit "bring it Alien boy"
The argument was thankfully interrupted by the sound of Goblins mask beep "Peter" Judge asked grateful for anything to stop Ben and Kim from starting a fight
They just finished the repairs from their last fight
Goblin grinned "we have a a signal" he said putting his goblin helmet on his mad laugh sounding even more deranged distorted by the mask "I knew it was a good idea to put a tracker on that beacon"
Negative Ten and Miss Impossible looked to Goblin "when did you put a tracker on the compass" Negative Ten asked with a raised eyebrow
"When I mentioned what I did to Red Ravens husband" Goblin laughed "she was so ticked she hardly noticed"
Negative Ten slammed his fist into his palm "that's great where are they" Negative Ten asked
"For once I agree with the bearded idiot" Miss Impossible added
Before Negative Ten could yell at her, Goblin Peter spoke next
"Looks like those vigilantes are holed up by the waterfront" He explained "wait scratch that Vigilante only Guardian's left isn't he"
"Your forgetting the Mutant Goblin" Miss. Impossible reminded "again"
"Oh right" Goblin cackled "I keep forgetting about him"
"Finally, once we get the last of those Vigilante scum then we'll have brought peace to the world once and for all" Judge said "our years of hard work every sacrifice we've made along the way will be worth it you my brothers and sister in arms" Judge looked out to them the only friends he truly had left in this world
He would never have achieved everything he's had without them if not for the three in this room instead of teetering over the abyss he would have fallen over "today we save the world for everyone we've lost to make sure no one else ever endures that pain"
His comrades nodded in agreement
"For Uncle Ben" Goblin said solemnly
"For Justice" Miss Impossible added looking to Judge flirtatiously
"For my family" Negative Ten shouted with a fist raised the Omnitrix glowing blood red
"For everyone" Judge completed 'for you my love'
Judge Miss. Impossible Negative Ten and Goblin stood up "today my friends this ends once and for all"
Miss. Impossible nodded "what about any reinforcements Red Raven brought with her"
Judge clenched his fist ready for a fight "then we'll make them regret them ever leaving their world"
Paulina lead the others through the sewers towards the waterfront stopping in front of a nondescript brick wall "we're here" Paulina said moving a brick to the side revealing a high tech retinal scanner Paulina approaches the scanner letting it pass over her eye
"Let no one else decide your faith Red Raven" Paulina said into a microphone the scanner returned to it's place behind the bricks hiding place a piece of the wall slid down revealing a hidden door "get in quick" Paulina told them Danny and the others followed closely
On the other side was a warehouse a dozen other people walking around Danny saw various aliens monster species and regular people Danny even saw some familiar faces from Amity Park or his other adventures all of them were doing something
Either hauling supplies working on the weapons they had or doing some other chore as Paulina lead them through the building people would send them dirty looks
At least to Ben and Kim people who looked at Danny looked at him like they'd seen a ghost
'I guess to them it is like that' Danny thought not wanting to think of what happened to his counterpart on this earth
"I guess you two aren't too popular here" Danny said looking to his married friends Kim and Ben usually two of the more popular of Danny's friends weren't used to people giving them dirty looks
Unless it was coming from the disgraced journalist Will Harangue
Ben and Kim got ready to fight when a werewolf with an eyepatch looked ready to do more then just give them dirty looks until Paulina stepped in front of the two her glare made the werewolf back down he walked away "sorry about that" she said
"I guess we're not the good guys" Kim asked sarcastically
"No neither is Parker" Paulina said powering down "I wonder if someones up there's playing a joke the heroes we call to save us are the doppelgängers of the people we need help to stop"
"It's pretty ironic" Peter said
The two walked into what looked like a command center in the corner supercomputer that was three different colors probably a round table that was broken down the middle Paulina looked around a weird look on her face
"You don't think they know we're here do you" Katie asked Paulina shook her head
"No I'm just dreading a conversation I'm going to have in the near future" Paulina answered Danny's girlfriend she sighed sitting down "these kinds of talks are never easy"
"Paulie" a woman's voice called out Paulina winced making Danny wonder if this was the person Paulina was going to have the dreaded conversation with she was a pretty woman with brown hair and blue eyes wearing an army jacket over a black tank top her very pregnant belly pushing against her grey pants she smiled at Paulina the dog tags around her neck bouncing against her chest as she ran over giving Paulina a hug
"It's so good to se you made it back" she told her holding her tight the woman looked around "where is he"
'Oh so it's that kind of talk' Danny thought feeling bad for Paulina
Telling someone their loved one wasn't coming back couldn't be easy
Paulina let out a slow breath "Carla" she said
The woman let out a gasp "no" she whispered stepping away
"No no no" kept repeating nearly falling over Katie and Sam acting quick helped her guiding her into a chair "this can't be happening not him not now"
Paulina looked furious but it didn't seem directed at Carla no it was probably directed at someone else Paulina walked over "he loved you more then anything Carla" she said putting a hand on her belly "he sacrificed himself for your son"
"I didn't need him to do that I needed him to come home" Carla said before she began crying Paulina hugged her
"It'll be ok we're not going to lose anyone else" Paulina said soothingly stroking Carla's back letting her cry
Danny and the others felt awkward being here Paulina seemed to sense this helping the grieving woman to her feet leading her out of the command center five minutes later Paulina came back dried tear tracks on her face coming in with her was a blonde man in a wheel chair holding her hand
"Hello" the man said letting go of Paulina's hand wheeling over to Danny "it's nice to meet you all" he said "my name is Henry Griffin"
Danny nodded "it's nice to meet you too" Danny said "though I wish it were under different circumstances"
"So do I" Henry said his smile going away wheeling over to a place at the table before their very eyes Henry grabbed the table pushing himself out of his wheelchair and into a seat at the table Paulina rolled her eyes "my husband the monkey ladies and gentlemen" she said sitting down besides Henry
"You should have seen what I could do when I was younger" Henry said for a moment he looked down towards his legs "please have a seat"
Sam looked towards the door where Carla had been lead out "will she be ok in her condition"
"If you mean the baby our doctor is keeping a close eye on her" Henry said "if you mean finding out her husband was killed I have no idea"
Paulina looked down at the table
The others took a seat "my uh condolences" Antonio said not sure what else to say
Henry nodded politely to Danny's brother in law "thank you hopefully Dash's sacrifice will not be in vain"
'Dash' Danny thought as in Dash Baxter Mr. Life after high school goes downhill was married to that he was a superhero Danny almost wanted to shake his head no way maybe it was a different Dash he remembered Violet Parr had a brother named Dash but Danny looked to Paulina there was pain in her eyes she looked like she was barely holding it together when she had comforted Carla
In Danny's heart he knew it was Dash 'wow this world is really upside down' Danny thought
"Tell us about the Justice Lords" Danny said "if we're going to stop them we need to know everything"
Judge watched from the hangar his enforcers were getting ready below for battle so were the rest of his comrades
Ben was calling his wife and son telling them he loved them both more then anything Peter was likely making sure he had all the gear necessary to be ready for the fight that was coming everything from blood blossoms to Kryptonite who knew what kind of reinforcements Paulina brought with her from another world
Maybe Kim was right about interrogating Guardian or should he say Dash Baxter
Judge didn't know the details on how Baxter had taken up the mantle of Guardian from the late Malcolm Duncan and quite honestly he didn't care the man was scum going from being a bully in high school to being a vigilante trying to disrupt the peace of the world didn't change what he was
Neither did a costume
"Thinking about the raid" Kim asked Judge looked to her annoyed under his mask
"I thought you were getting ready for the raid" Judge said wanting to be left alone right now
Kim smirked sauntering over to him "I'm always ready don't you remember" Kim placed a hand on his shoulder running a finger across his chest "I can do the impossible" she whispered seductively into his ear
Judge stepped away from her he could see Kim's pout in his mind "it's been years" she said gently the seductive voice gone for now
"I see her every time I close my eyes I see her" Judge said his blood boiling his fist clenched "and what those animals did to her"
All because of him he could never allow someone to get that close to him again he could never forgive himself if someone got hurt like that again "never again" Judge said leaving Kim "we leave in an hour"
Kim sighed "all right" she said walking off leaving Judge alone
"Peace in our time my love" Judge said looking up to the ceiling "it's almost in our hands" walking away he too had to prepare
To end this Vigilante menace once and for all
