That night Storm had a dream, he dreamed of being near a frozen lake on a snowy afternoon, but he's trying to get away from something but what? He didn't know but he had to make it across the frozen lake, he just had to; it was his only escape. The only problem was, the ice looked thin and fragile; if it broke, he's screwed. Why couldn't he go around it, was something terrible waiting for him if he does? He doesn't know or remember but some kind of horrible was looking for him if he chooses the other path. Looks like he has no choice,

"Okay just relax, and take it nice and slow," He purred.

He slowly took a step; nothing. He took another step, still nothing, it seemed to be safe. In this dream he couldn't see his face or body, the only parts of himself he sees are his legs and his hands, his skin was a golden beige shade, but the tips of his fingers were turning blue and had a few small blisters from possible frost bite. His body was shivering from the subzero temperatures, but that's not important right now. All that mattered was getting toward the other side safely.

Storm huffed, "I'm gonna make it, almost there,"

He spoke too soon, he heard something breaking, he glanced and saw that the ice began to crack from under him. Shit, what can he do?! If he moves the ice will break and he'll drown, if he does nothing he's equally fucked. However, living in the great Canadian wilderness has taught him a thing or two about the frigid winter temperatures.

"Time for the airplane," He sighed.

He gently bent down and laid on his stomach while he expanded his legs and arms like an airplane. He rolled away from the crack and got as far away as he could. He got to the left side of the lake and sighed with relief, but the ice under his stomach cracked. Before he could react or do anything, he plunged into the freezing cold water. If Storm could scream bloody murder under water he could, his body was struck with hyperthermia. It felt like swords struck every muscle and nerve, it was never ending pain.

He didn't have time to be paralyzed, in fact his time is limited! Gaining up the most strength he had left, he swam like his life depended on it, and it did! Storm swam up to the surface and with little strength he had left, he grabbed a piece of broken ice. Storm tried to pull himself up, but he was too weak from the cold, none-less he had to try. His nearly frozen arms pushed forward, and his weak body followed, and he crawled onto the ice.

He couldn't move, he was so cold and so exhausted, his body slipped off the ice and sank down into the deep dark freezing water. Storm's body started to turn pale and all the warmth from it disappeared. The warm blood pumping through his heart froze, the last thing he saw was the dark blackish blue water and the last thing he felt was a cold tingling sensation in his chest.

Storm woke up gasping for air, he gripped his chest and the blankets while ice crystals began to form. His panic attack woke January up and just by looking at him, the snow leopard kitten knew something was wrong with her daddy. She snuggled closer to him and rested her small soft head against his chest while she purred and licked his fingers.

He caught his breath, "Thanks girl."

"Okay, just relax Storm it's just a dream, it's not real," He thought

It took him a few seconds to calm down, but once he did, he loosen his grip on the sheets and the snow crystals vanished. He glanced over to the side clock it was 4:50am. It was almost morning, it brought him some relief knowing that a new day was almost here, and he could continue his journey.

"I had a dream in a dream, was that real? No, it can't be, but then, why did it feel real?" He wondered.

January rubbed her head against his hand, he smiled tiredly while he scratched her.

"I'm okay baby girl, just had a surreal experience, come on let's get back to sleep. Wouldn't want to be cranky when we get to the hotel," Storm said.

Storm laid back on his pillow and felt the calming presence of sleep claim him once more; whatever that was it's gone now, but not for long. He's about to face more surreal experiences about his so-called life he's forgotten. Is this really a dream, or is this something more?

End of chapter 5; looks like something's coming back to Storm, what could it be? Is it memories, or are they just hallucinations?
