The student body of Silas University was surprised when Carmilla and Laura were spotted roaming campus together. Even though precious few of them knew about the rivalry the two roommates used to have, the handful that knew Carmilla knew she wasn't usually a very sociable person, and yet here she was now, out and about, perusing campus with Laura by her side.
The two were chatting up a storm, or rather, Laura was. She was a mix of a flustered gay mess and someone trying desperately to impress her girlfriend by talking about anything and everything, hoping that something good might eventually come out of her mouth. Carmilla was content to just walk quietly along and listen to her little sundance shine on like the little ball of light that she was.
Funnily enough, Carmilla wasn't the only one thinking about her partner as a little ball of light. Even though Laura was blabbering on and on, she was still thinking about Carmilla the entire time as well, only half paying attention to her own thoughts and words.
Hey, darling, I know looks can be alarming, but I know I saw a light in you…And as we walked, we were talking, I didn't say half the things I wanted to. Sure, Laura was talking a million miles an hour, but there was still so much she wanted to tell Carmilla, so much that she was still a little too nervous to say out loud…
Carmilla's mind ran a similar track. Of all the girls tossing rocks at your window, I'll be the one waiting there even when it's cold! She smirked to herself. That's right, Xena, keep on moving! Maybe she had Laura's heart in the first half, but Carmilla was the one who was there even in the cold and dark, until the very end. She was the one Laura chose, and now her darling creampuff had her falling. Falling into Laura was so much better than falling into that blasted Pit! And now, Carmilla no longer had to be alone.
Not only were she and Laura dating, but just in general, Laura reminded Carmilla of what it meant to have someone worth fighting for, and what it meant to have someone she could turn to whenever she needed a helping hand or a shoulder to cry on. After centuries of holding back her feelings, Carmilla had so many things to say to Laura. She'd seen it all, or so she thought, but she'd never seen somebody shine the way Laura did. From the very first day, when she was so determined to find her missing roommate, Betty, to when she dared to challenge the Demon in the Pit… Laura wasn't just the sunshine, she was a firebrand!
It's beautiful, wonderful, don't you ever change! Hey, darling, after all of our quarreling, you are now the one who stops my pain.
Now, as Carmilla gave Laura a side-glance, she couldn't help but think how much Laura looked like an angel. It didn't help that the sun made the top of her golden hair shine like a halo. But Carmilla would've kissed her rain or shine. Laura, of course, felt the same way. As she and Carmilla continued to wander aimlessly around together, Laura kept trying to find the perfect opportunity to grab Carmilla's hand.
Come feel this magic I've been feeling since I met you! Can't help it if there's no one else! No, I can't help myself… Laura was sure Carmilla was doing it on purpose now, the way her hips swayed as they walked along, her casual and cool expression…
Her footprints on the sidewalk lead to where I can't stop, I go there all the time! And when they took a brief respite at one of the cafes on campus, watching Carmilla wrap her hand around a cold glass made Laura want to know that body as if it were hers.
Man, lucky straw… Laura sighed as she watched Carmilla suck the contents up and out of her cup. It was still a little off-putting to know that she was drinking blood, but hey, part of love meant embracing each other's quirks. And the blood was all taken and sold consensually, so Laura couldn't really complain. Carmilla just had that sexy look no matter what she was doing, and Laura was a huge fan.
Stupid, sexy, vampire! But even as Laura shook her head in mock despair, her mind was drawing up the plans. Somehow, she would indeed become like that straw! Hmmm…Now that was the strangest thought she'd had in a while…And that was saying something! But what could she say? She felt like she was 17, she was sure nobody would understand her strange fascination and attraction to the vampire, but her undead lover made her feel so alive! Her heart was skipping down Silas' main avenue and she wanted to tell Carmilla, she still had so many things to say to her, but at least in this case, she had the good sense that Carmilla already knew…
Maybe Carmilla didn't know everything, didn't know just how deep Laura's feelings for her ran, but she definitely knew that Laura was into her. Why else would she suddenly be shifting in her seat with a seductive look in her eyes, biting her lip as she finally pulled away from the straw. Ok, soon, Laura wasn't going to have a heartbeat at all if this kept up!
"Shall we head back to the dorms now?" Laura tried to sound the way Carmilla looked, that is, she tried to sound suave and confident, but the goofy smile on her face gave her away. Good thing for Laura, Carmilla was attracted to morons.
"Oh, can't wait to get me all alone, hmmm?" The vampire leaned forward with a sultry look in her eyes.
"Uhhh…Uhhh…Uhhh…" Error 404, not found!
As soon as Error 404 found herself in Room 307, Carmilla made herself quite at home, stretching out on her bed like a cat. That was to say, she lay on her side, one hand under her head while the other ran parallel to her body. She had that sultry look that Laura liked in her vamps.
"Paint me like one of your vampire girls, Laura," she winked, flashing Laura a fanged smile. Error 404 returned, but Carmilla only shook her head, tossing her luxurious dark locks, and laughing. "I think you know you'd better lock it down or I won't stick around 'cause good ones never wait!"
That got Laura moving again. "You evil, terrible, horrible, wicked thing!" Laura cried, but the way she threw herself at Carmilla made her true feelings all too clear. Carmilla was quite pleased to know that even after all these centuries, women still literally threw themselves at her to be with her. Then again, she was pretty smokin'. Ladies loved the leather! Laura was obsessed with her, but, boy, did she understand.
ooo
Then, even when the sun finally went down, the fun kept on going. Laura and Carmilla parted briefly, since they each had class. Laura got out first, waiting for Carmilla again on Silas' main avenue. The streetlights were dimming and Laura wondered where her lover was. Yes, Carmilla had quite a few night classes, but she was still always on time to their nightly outings! I'm waiting alone now, so, come on and come—
"Fudgesicles!" Two strong arms suddenly embraced her from behind, pulling her near.
"Hello, sunshine." Ohh, and that low, smoky voice. Laura's heartbeat went skipping down the avenue again. "I love the way you shine and spark for me." Carmilla nipped the back of Laura's neck playfully.
"Carm! Not in public!" Laura moaned, looking embarrassed.
"It's late and it's dark out, who's going to see? And if anyone gives us a hard time…?" Laura felt Carmilla nip her again, but this time, she let the tips of her fangs poke Laura's neck gently. Laura gave another helpless whimper, trapped in her girlfriend's intoxicating embrace.
Secretly, both of them quite enjoy these little PDAs. Of course, they weren't going to go all-out and turn it into an X-rated movie, but Carmilla liked being able to show off her new girlfriend, and it made Laura feel so unspeakably special that Carmilla would flaunt and take such public claim to her. It was hot and it was sweet.
"All those other girls, well, they're beautiful, but would they slay a god for you?" Carmilla teased, whispering into Laura's ear. Laura felt the hairs stand up on the back of her neck. Carmilla knew exactly how to drive her wild! And speaking of wild driving…
Eventually, Carmilla decided to be merciful. She stopped kissing Laura to lead her to the gates of Silas where a car was waiting for them. With a magical smile and dusky dark eyes, she took Laura by the hand and opened the car's shotgun door.
"Come feel this magic I've been feeling since I met you," she said as she helped Laura in.
"So, where are we going to go?" Laura whispered through the dark, her blue eyes almost indigo under the night sky.
"We'll just follow the sparks, Cupcake," Carmilla grinned wolfishly. The engine purred to life and she patted Laura's thigh playfully before speeding off into the night, throwing the car into drive and putting the pedal to the metal.
For a moment, Laura jolted, grabbing onto the door with a small, squeak of fright.
"Buckle up, Creampuff," Carmilla winked.
"You know, we aren't all used to suddenly going from zero to a hundred, you know?!" Laura shrieked.
"Oh, you aren't?" Carmilla patted Laura's thigh again and Laura gulped. Stupid, sexy vampire…
And before Laura knew it, they were speeding down Silas' main avenue and Laura was both thrilled and terrified. It was an accurate way to describe how she felt about Carmilla in general, to be honest. But even though she had a wide-eyed and breathless look on her face, she'd never felt so alive, and the cocky smile that Carmilla flashed her as she took an unusually sharp turn told Laura that she felt exactly the same way.
I wanna see what's under that attitude, like, I want her, bless my soul! But I ain't gotta tell her, I think she knows!
