The Cybernetic Monarch

Slightly smaller chapter this time! I hope you guys enjoy!

...

Susie positioned herself protectively between Frisk and Tina and Noelle's kidnapper, snarling. "Who the hell are you?!"

"I Am Known As Serial Number Q5U4EX7YY2E9N," the robotic woman answered, sounding amused. "But You Foolish Children May Call Me," She took a sip from the bright green concoction in her wine glass. "Queen." As she said this, a button lit up beside her reading, "Queen," with an arrow button towards her.

Despite her fear, Frisk couldn't help but wonder if she was related to Lancer. She certainly had his sense of style.

Susie smirked. "Heh, like we're gonna call YOU "Queen," Q5U...3...7…" She hesitated, not remembering the number any more than Frisk could. "Uh…"

Queen waved her hand, and her name flashed again on the other side of her. "Queen."

"WELL LOOK, "Queen." We're not "children!" Well, Tina is, but Frisk and I are not! Right, Frisk?"

"Uh…"

"Teens Are Merely Big Children." Queen answered. "And Adults Are Even Bigger Children." Her name was replaced with two buttons of a small stick figure and a larger one, reading "Stupid," and "Big Stupid," with an arrow pointing between them.

Susie smirked. "...doesn't that make you a child too then?"

"No I Am A Computer (Smart)." Queen replied, and the corresponding drawings on buttons showed up on her other side.

"Look, it doesn't matter who's stupid and who's smart." Frisk cut in. "What'd you do to our friend?!"

"Obviously I Captured Her." Queen answered. Her visor lit up briefly. "My Scans Are Reporting Your Vision Is Not Fully Adequate Perhaps You Did Not See It."

"We both fu-freaking saw it! What she was asking is WHY did you capture Noelle?" Susie growled.

"I Would Have Captured You Too, But I Ran Out Of Cages."

Susie's eyes glowed bright yellow as she bared her teeth. "Why the CAPTURING!?"

A picture of Noelle showed up on Queen's left side. "So She Can Become My Willing Peon In My Quest For World Domination." A bunch of bright red buttons with pictures of the globe on them popped up, then one of a robot next to Noelle's face with an arrow pointing to it. "Also Maybe I Will Make Her Face Into A Robot One?"

Susie and Frisk stiffened. "What?! Why?!" Susie demanded.

Queen laughed and shrugged. Her visor lit up with what Frisk realized, after squinting to see it, was the word, "Nice," "Seems Cool."

"It's not cool! It's mean!" Tina protested, poking her head out from behind Frisk. The little girl crossed her arms. "Capturing someone, turning their face into a robot, and taking over the world is not nice! You should let Noelle go and say sorry!" Frisk tensed and moved between Tina and Queen protectively, terrified Queen would attack her sister.

But Queen didn't seem mad, she seemed endeared. "Aww You're Adorable." Queen cooed. "It Is Too Bad You Are Too Young To Be My Peon Yet And That Your Four Year Old Mind Is Too Underdeveloped To See The Genius Of My Plan. Noelle Will Be Perfectly Happy As My Willing Peon And Everyone Will Feel Nothing But Joy Under My Loving Reign."

"But you're not being loving! You're being scary!" Tina told her, hands on her hips. "And I'm not four! I'm six!"

"And she's also right!" Susie added. "FORGET it, dude. Nobody's turning anyone's face into a robot!"

Queen gasped. "Could That Be A Statement Of Animous Dissension."

Susie blinked. "Huh?"

She looked to Frisk, who shrugged. "I THINK she's asking if we're challenging her word? I'm not sure."

Queen seemed pleased. "Close Enough. Exact Translation: You Wanna Fight, Losers?"

"YES! YES ALREADY, YES!" Susie yelled, swinging her ax like a maniac.

Queen smirked. "Oh Then Bye." She zoomed off on her rocket powered throne.

"WAIT! A GODDAMN! SECOND!" Susie screamed, swinging her ax even more fiercely where Queen had been.

Queen floated back down. "I Have No Time For Such Frivolities (And Would Kick Your Ass)" she said condescendingly. "But Perhaps Someone Else Could Entertain You"

Plugs dropped from the ceiling over the two pink monsters that were still huddling there, and all they could do was scream as the plugs lifted them into the air, their bodies twisting and morphing into something much more sinister. Their limbs became long and slender, hands turning into claws and blue and gold swirling among their natural pink as they dangled from the wires attached to rainbow cups that covered their faces.

"Enjoy: Your Assimilation," was all Queen said before leaving as the mind controlled creatures swung at the two of them.

Frisk stared in terrified pity at the poor creatures, fighting against their own bodies as they shot three streams of wire at the girls. Frisk grabbed Tina, dodging between the wires and avoiding the sparks they threw, Susie right behind her.

"We've got to break them free!" Frisk gasped.

"I know." Susie looked up. "There! Whoever wired up those mind control machines did a really shoddy job. See those bulges right there in the middle where one set of wires are connected to each other? They're already starting to come apart. If we hit them hard enough, it should knock them completely loose!"

Frisk remembered how Susie had freed K-Round from the mind control crown. "Susie, throw me! If I can get up there, I can break those wires!"

Susie nodded, scooping Frisk up and throwing her at the wires. Frisk twisted midair, grabbing them and pulling hard as she fell. They loosened, but it wasn't enough. Frisk stumbled a bit as she hit the ground, nearly getting hit by a set of glowing wires one of the Werewires had shot at her, but managing to dodge just in time. However, this left her open to the second's attack, and Frisk braced herself as wires headed straight for her.

And then Susie leapt in front of her, taking the attack. Frisk cried out, terrified she'd get severely hurt, but when the wires struck Susie's chest, there was a metallic clang and Susie grabbed Frisk and dodged the next attack, completely unharmed.

"Frisk! Susie! Stay away from them!" Tina yelled angrily, throwing a few small rocks at the Werewire that hit Susie, drawing its attention towards her. It shot sparks at her, but the agile little girl did not make an easy target and dodged, giving Frisk and Susie the time they needed.

"Can you handle another throw?" Susie asked her. Frisk nodded and Susie scooped her up, tossing her once again at the distracted Werewires, and then going to help Tina as Frisk once again yanked on the wires. This broke the connection, freeing both monsters, who immediately stumbled back and fled.

"You're welcome!" Susie yelled angrily after them. She checked on Tina, who was unhurt, then turned to Frisk. "You okay? Damn good moves and thinking out there. You too, Tina."

"Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks." Frisk reassured her. "And great job, Tine. You saved our butts. Just be more careful next time, okay? I don't want you to get hurt."

"Eh, she did great. Kid's a natural already." Susie said proudly, ruffling Tina's hair. Tina beamed at the praise.

Susie then looked thoughtful. "What the hell deflected that one attack though... I didn't THINK I had any metal in my pocket. All that was in there was..." Her eyes then widened and she reached into her jacket, pulling out a thin but strong sheet of silvery metal, folded just like the drawing had been. Susie opened it up and it became a chestplate, engraved with Tina's drawing of the three of them, the hearts in the drawing having become gems that shone with magical power.

"Whoa... Tina, your drawing became armor!" Susie said with a grin. "Awesome! Let's Check this puppy out!" She held the chestplate out in front of her. "Check Item." The armor glowed slightly and Susie studied it for a moment. "Friendship Armor: Engraved with love and care. It reminds you of why you fight." Susie turned slightly red at reading something that soft aloud. "Man, this is +3 Def and +2 magic. Da-Dang, this is a good item! Looks like you're a master smith in this world, kid." She ruffled Tina's hair.

Tina grinned. "And I got lots more! I made some yesterday, and the day before, and I brought them with me to show Miss Brown, so there's enough for me, and Frisk, and Noelle, and Ralsei and Lancer too!"

"Not to mention, I got your newest masterpiece right here." Frisk said with a grin, pulling out her own drawing/armor. She glanced into the bag again. "Hey, all the food we got yesterday is back too. So's the money. It's not all a ball of junk any more."

Susie grinned. "Nice!"

As Frisk equipped her new piece of armor, which to her amazement immediately melded itself into her own chestplate just as she was about to replace it, Tina opened her own little backpack. Her eyes widened.

"Hey, kid, what's up?" Susie asked, kneeling down to look into Tina's bag. "Holy crap!"

Frisk came over to look, and "Holy crap!" was indeed the right statement for what they saw. Instead of Tina's usual assortment of pencils, books, drawings, homework, and her prized box of crayons that Frisk got her for her birthday, her bag now held an impossible array of weapons and armor that never should have fit into such a small backpack. There were more of the chest plates with Tina's artwork emblazoned on them, a few long swords, some weird medieval flail thing, and a small bow with a set of eight arrows, all in the color of Tina's beloved crayons.

Tina looked at Frisk worriedly. "I swear I didn't bring anything dangerous to school!"

"Relax, sis. I believe you. I... think these are your normal things. The Dark World just changed them like it changed us. Don't worry. I'm sure it'll all go back to normal in the Light World." Frisk reassured her.

"Yeah, it'll all be fine! Plus, this stuff's gonna help us out a lot!" Susie reassured her. Tina seemed to feel better at both their words. Susie grinned. "Good, there's that smile again." She pulled out one of the chestplate drawings, and started to put it on Tina. Like with the one Frisk had, it simply melded into Tina's original chestplate, turning rose colored and gaining the engravings.

"Here, Tina, I can carry your backpack. That stuff's got to be heavy." Frisk offered.

"Nah, I'll get it for her." Susie told her. "You've already got that giant backpack of yours with all our food and stuff."

"Don't worry! It's not heavy at all! It's actually lighter than carrying my normal stuff!" Tina reassured them both.

"Nice, weightless inventory! This is just like Dragon Blazers!" Susie grinned. "Now that we're all equipped, got our food, and got your awesome freaking armory, let's go catch up to Queen, kick her butt, and save Noelle!"

At that moment, two more Werewires swung down to intercept them, making them all jump. "...or not!" Susie yelped as they prepared for yet another battle.

But just then, magic sparked around them, and the two creatures returned to their normal selves and immediately ran away. "Huh? They calmed down?" Susie asked in shock.

"I just used my Pacify spell to put them into "Sleep Mode"!" a familiar voice said behind them and the girls turned, seeing Ralsei run up to them.

"Ralsei! You're here!" Susie said in relief and Frisk smiled, hugging her friend.

"It's great to see you, Ralsei, but how'd you get here?" Frisk asked, pulling away from the hug. "Oh, Tina, this is our friend Ralsei. Ralsei, this is my little sister, Tina."

"It's nice to meet you." Tina said shyly.

"It's nice to meet you too, Tina." Ralsei said, smiling before turning to Frisk and Susie. "The fountain in my world flared up, like it did when the Card Castle Dark Fountain appeared, and I realized a new one had formed, so I hurried here as soon as I could. Is everyone all right?"

Susie shook her head. "Ralsei... they got Noelle!" She paced, clearly frustrated. "Damn, what was she THINKING messing in our Dark World!? If we don't do something, she might be..."

Frisk patted her arm, trying to hide that she was just as scared. "Don't worry, Susie. We'll find her and save her."

Ralsei nodded. "All we have to do is seal the Fountain!"

Susie nodded, taking a deep breath. "... yeah. Yeah!" She tried to smile. "Can't be mad about another adventure, right!? C'mon, Frisk! C'mon, Tina! Let's go!"

The group walked together to the next cliff, but this fall was much more dangerous, a robot floating above their heads and shooting white square shaped bullets at them as they slid down. Thankfully, they were fairly easy to evade, and they all made it to the bottom of the cliff unharmed, and the robot thankfully didn't chase them.

At the bottom of the cliff, they continued along the path, and Frisk was relieved to find another Save Star. She hit it and once everyone was healed, they followed the path.

The next room was breathtaking. Behind a sign reading Cyber World, Frisk could see a large city and what looked like a theme park in the distance. Tina held her hand, looking around in awe.

They headed south, encountering another two Werewires, but thankfully, Ralsei's Pacify quickly soothed the frightened mind-controlled creatures and they were able to continue on.

"Hey, Frisk, there's a treasure chest up ahead!" Ralsei said happily. "We should see if it has some armor for Tina!"

"Good idea." Frisk said with a smile and went to check. She opened the treasure chest, finding a bracelet made of wires and glowing lights. She picked it up, de-tangled it, and returned to the group. "Here, Tine, this is armor, just like your drawings are. Put it on, it'll help protect you."

Tina happily put it on. "It's pretty! Thanks, Frisk! Oh, and I've got armor for you too, Ralsei! All my drawings turned into cool chestplates!" She took off her backpack and pulled out a few of the chestplates. "Do you want the one with Spot on it or the one with me as a princess and Frisk as a cool knight?"

"I'll take the one with you guys on it." Ralsei said happily, equipping Tina's Friendship Armor. "Wow, these are really good, Tina! You're a very talented artist."

Tina beamed. "Thanks! I'll make a special one just for you when we get back home and my crayons turn back into crayons. The Dark World is silly! It turned my crayons and pencils into arrows and swords!"

"It does that." Ralsei chuckled. "The Dark World likes to make sure its heroes are well protected."

"I don't know how to use a sword though." Tina said sadly.

"Don't worry, I'll teach you! And you won't have to use it much anyway, as it's much better to talk things out than fight." Ralsei reassured her.

Just like he had done with Frisk, Ralsei showed Tina how to use her sword, being patient and gentle, and how to switch her sword to a shield and use it to defend herself. Frisk and Susie watched with smiles, Frisk adoring how great Ralsei was with Tina.

"That was so cool! You're an awesome teacher, Ralsei!" Tina happily told him after the lesson was over, giving him a big hug.

Ralsei grinned and hugged her back. "Happy to help. I'll make you a manual when we get home, so you can learn even more about this world."

Tina's eyes shone. "That sounds amazing!"

Now that the lesson was over, they decided to continue on and came to a teacup ride. They all leapt inside, Tina riding with Frisk since there was only three teacups. Susie spun the teacup wildly so they could catch the glowing arrows, making both Tina and Frisk laugh though poor Ralsei looked nauseous. Once at the top, they all leapt off and crossed into another area where the robotic DJ that had attacked them earlier was, and had to dodge his blocks once again. They got into another teacup, then dodged more blocks to get to the next one. Finally, they got to the next area, spoke to a Plugboy who let them know what they already did, that an evil ruler was taking over Cyber World. However he had no opinion about it as he apparently hated politics.

Frisk totally understood this.

While trying to get through the maze of green cliffs, they suddenly had two creatures jump out at them. They were white and light teal, with what looked like a computer card for a face that gave them catlike ears, and a cat sized body with a long wagging tail.

"They're kitties!" Tina said happily. "Hi, kitties!"

This immediately caused the "kitties" to let out electronic purrs and stop whatever attack they had planned. They immediately wound themselves around Tina's legs, making the little girl giggle as she fussed over the purring creatures. The rest of the group smiled at the adorable sight. Eventually, once the kitties had enough petting, they happily wandered away.

They continued on, searching around and coming to a spelling puzzle. Tina was super excited about it, so Frisk let her solve it all by herself, and after speaking to a little blobby guy called Nubert, who claimed the forcefield and treasure was his but had no clue what was in it, Tina proudly opened the treasure chest, getting the FiberScarf, which she gave to Ralsei after learning it was a special type of weapon only he could use. Frisk and Susie chuckled when Ralsei put it on and his fur immediately stuck up.

Finally, after talking to another Plugboy, who let them know the Internet was possibly the secret to Queen's know-how and maybe the reason she had become so extreme, they entered the next room, and that's when they came upon Queen herself, talking to Noelle, who was still trapped in her cage.

"Noelle Honey Become My Willing Peon And I Will Free You" Queen coaxed. "All You Have To Do Is Hit Yes On The Peon Release Form."

Noelle just shook. "I... I'm scared..."

Despite having kidnapped and imprisoned her, Queen seemed completely ignorant to the source of Noelle's fear. "Oh Have You Never Signed A Form Before"

Noelle gave her an incredulous look. "No! It's everything else that's scary!"

Queen smiled reassuringly. "Please Abort Your Sadness Protocol. I Told You Being A Peon Will Be Cool."

Frisk ushered Tina to hide, then ran towards the scene. "Noelle!" Frisk called out as she rushed in with Susie and Ralsei, Susie crying out Noelle's name too.

"S... Susie?! Frisk...?!" Noelle asked in shock, not seeming to notice Tina or Ralsei.

Susie smiled reassuringly. "Don't worry, we won't let your face get robotized!"

Noelle's eyes went as wide as dinner plates. "THAT'S... SOMETHING THEY'RE GOING TO DO!?"

Susie looked away. "Whoops, thought, uh, you knew that."

Queen pouted. "Oh Dear That Was Supposed To Be A Surprise." she said like she thought Noelle would WANT to have her face robotized.

Frisk had the feeling that that was exactly what she thought.

"Oh Well." Queen sighed, and then with a flick of her hand sent Noelle's cage flying away, the screaming reindeer monster still inside.

"Noelle!" Frisk cried out, running to the cliff with Susie right behind her, but it was too late.

"W-wait-!" Susie protested.

Queen just ignored them both. "It Is Quite Troubling. A Peon Must Be "Willing" To Assist Me In World Domination." she sighed. "If Only She Had Fellow Peons To Encourage Her."

Susie grinned nervously. "... So?"

Queen grinned in a friendly way. "So Like... You "Guys..." Hey. Are You Like..." She paused. "Doing Anything Right Now?"

Ralsei glared at her. "We aren't going to help you!" he yelled before anyone else could answer, not that anyone else had a different response.

"Understood. Mind Changing Protocol Necessitated." Queen replied, still grinning. Frisk and Susie tensed.

With that some sort of humanoid bird creature in a stylish red tuxedo landed in front of them. Frisk thought they were about to attack, but they didn't. Instead they pulled out a huge silver serving dish, somehow let a giant blue and red arcade machine fall out of it onto the ground with a hard thud, bowed, and left.

Susie blinked. "A giant arcade game!?"

Queen grinned. "I Shall Humiliate You At: A Simple Children's Diversion. With Your Self-Esteem Eradicated, There Will Be No Choice But To Serve Me."

Susie grimaced. "The hell!? I've never played this one before...!" She turned to Frisk.

"Hey, I'm not going to be any help. You know I've never played a video game at all." Frisk pointed out.

"Don't worry, Frisk, I haven't either." Ralsei told her.

"Oh Dear." Queen said. "It Looks Like For Proper Sporting Self-Esteem Eradicating, I Shall Have To Instruct You In How To Play First. Frisk Sweetie, How About You Go?" She ushered Frisk towards the machine.

Ignoring being called Sweetie by this weird woman, Frisk made an effort, but couldn't even reach the controls.

"Just As I Thought. You're Far Too Small And Malnourished To Accomplish This Task." Queen commented, her voice pitying. She smiled encouragingly. "Join Me Frisk, And You'll Soon Grow Well And Strong. And There's A Fifty Percent Chance I'll Make You A Strong Robotic Body To Replace Your Weak Human One."

"I'm not weak!" Frisk yelled and renewed her efforts to climb the machine and use it.

"Yeah, tell her, Frisk!" Susie cheered.

But despite all the determination in the world, Frisk was still too short to reach the controls, and ended up falling off the machine with no good place to hang onto it.

Ralsei and Susie quickly caught her. "It's okay, Frisk! I'm short too." Ralsei reassured her. "And I've got an idea! If we can combine our powers, then...! Look, I'll show you what I've been practicing!" He raised his arms dramatically in the air... then got on his hands and knees. "Magical Stool Form R!"

Frisk wanted to giggle but Ralsei looked so damn proud of himself that she just smiled. "That's awesome, Rals!"

"Now we're talking!" Susie cheered. "Arright Frisk, leave it to me!" She walked over to Frisk. "Put your arms out!"

Frisk did so, and Susie backflipped, landing behind her, pressing close and putting her arms over Frisk's. "Power Beast Forme S! Move your arms and I'll move 'em with ya!" she said proudly. "Let's go!" Hanging onto Frisk, she jumped onto Ralsei's back, carrying Frisk with her, causing the poor goat boy to splat on the ground under their combined weight.

Queen shook her head. "Incredible. Your Transformation Is Combining All Your Weak Points. Self Esteem Crushing Efficiency 300% And Rising. Commence Virtual Combat."

And surprisingly, Queen DID instruct Frisk on all the controls with a patience that surprised Frisk. Still, Frisk lost the first game badly, but for some reason, Queen just let her continue playing, and much to her surprise, the robotic woman looked like she was having FUN.

And after a few tries, Frisk started to get it, realizing when Queen was about to make her move and dodging like she would in a real fight while returning brutal blows back, and ducking when the golden wheels appeared. It was still close, but after the fourth round, she, with Susie's help, actually WON.

And then, when the victory screen showed, the machine exploded into pieces.

"I'm sorry! What'd I do?!" Frisk asked frantically, thinking she had broken Queen's giant arcade machine. There was no way she could afford to get that fixed!

But Queen seemed completely unperturbed, like this happened all the time. "LOL Nothing. It's Built For Cool Explosions." the robotic woman answered.

"Heh, thought you could beat US?!" Susie asked with a grin, completely ignoring that Queen had already beat them three times.

Queen laughed regally. "Oh My That Was Actually Quite... Amusing. You Lifeform(s) Have Exceeded My Expectations. I Will Offer You A New, Exceedingly Benevolent Compromise. Assimilate Into My Cyber-Army And There Is Only A Fifty Percent Chance I Will Reprogram Your Face."

"Wow, way to sound encouraging." Frisk said dryly.

Queen somehow missed her sarcasm. "Why Thank You Frisk Dear." she said proudly. "Now Please Select Your Choice. Perish In The Chill Of Absolute Destruction Or: Flourish Under The Warm Bosom Of My Hellish Reign."

"We, um, appreciate the offer..." Frisk said politely.

"NO WE DON'T!" Susie yelled.

"But yeah, mind-controlling people, kind of an automatic no for us." Frisk continued, ignoring Susie.

Queen just laughed. "Understood. Preference Settings Set To Perish." She then walked off.

Frisk went to get Tina who was still where Frisk had told her to wait. She was sitting down, hands wrapped around her knees, shaking hard.

"Tina, it's going to be okay." Frisk reassured her.

"I don't want you to perish!" Tina sobbed.

Susie came over. "Aww, it's okay, kid. That mean Queen could NEVER kill us. We're too tough, remember! We're heroes."

"Don't worry, Tina. We'll be fine." Frisk soothed her.

Ralsei nodded. "Yeah, we'll be all right! We've done this before and Queen isn't NEARLY as bad as King was."

Susie nodded. "Yeah, this is nothing! Now, c'mon, let's go after her!"

Knowing they had no other choice, Frisk nodded, hitting the Save Star that showed up in the field next to her. The power of video game violence filled her as she looked at the wrecked machine.

The red suited bird man came back in and sighed as he started sweeping up the machine.

"I'm really sorry about this." Frisk said apologetically. "Do you need help?"

The creature shook their head. "No worries, Ma'am. You did not do this. Our glorious Queen enjoys explosions and sets it to do that if she loses. I can't tell you how many of these I've cleaned up." They shrugged. "It's not so bad. I like cleaning."

Frisk nodded and continued on with her sister and friends. She had the feeling this was going to be their weirdest adventure yet.
