A/N: This is an original Pokémon Fan Game, made by Amethyst. if you wish to check it out and play the game download it at Reborn Evolved. search for it on your web browser if you want to get to the website.
Alright, as I've previously said in chapter 56, this is a rewrite of Chapter 57 as the original has been corrupted. Also note due to that corruption, I have no buffer chapters for when Finals occur for me (Since I am a college student).
While I did say in the previous chapter that there would probably be no chapter for about two weeks after this one… This is a bit subject to change. I know I've like since only posted like 17 chapters since I last took a break… but this story may go on a temporary hiatus again. I've heard that work Ep19 of Pokémon Reborn is finally getting on its way, so I want to prepare what scenes I need to go over to decide what I should do for my story, etc. But also, because there are several rumors about how people think Reborn will end, and if some rumors are true than that just fucks up what I currently have planned. Other than that, I think I'm just feeling a bit burned out over Pokémon Reborn writing.
Even though I may stop writing this for a while, I want to try and write a different story to just clear my head for a while. Since I pretty much determined, I'm probably never touching Fossil Fighters ever again. I'm probably going to work on the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon fic I posted. though in two weeks I could have changed my mind, I don't know. Maybe I'll just use it as a pallet cleanser, try to just give myself a small, break then return to this when I can.
Other news, this chapter consists of Percival's tenth Gym Battle. The Fighting-Type Rematch! Things to note, I may have made slight remarks on how Pokémon Reborn has a special mechanic known as Field Effect. Well Samson (The Leader) uses the Big Top Arena field, which has several things affecting certain dance and sound-based moves. There is also the floor which is known for being completely RNG. When certain moves like Earthquake go off, the move will randomly get a x0.5, x1.0, x1.5, x2.0 and x3.0 times multiplier. It's not something I really get into, as the author of Pokémon stories. I kinda decide which is boosted and not (since I chose crits). Meaning I think I'll just ignore the RNG portion of Samson's field. But I'll definitely make up for it in other ways.
Chapter 57-
Time: 14:30
Location: Agate Circus
It has only been two hours since Lucille had found where Hardy was. In that time, she had found that Team Meteor was making attack on the Carnelian Region's cities Labradorra and Calcenon. Labradorra was currently being held hostage, with Calcenon at risk of being targeted next.
This was quite worrisome for Lucille since she had friends up in Calcenon, and not to mention her twin brother was working with Team Meteor, possibly fighting those friends. It wasn't a situation she liked, so she had to try and relieve as soon as possible. But that speed had quite the problems: First there was the fact that to get there she needed to use Surf to get to Calcenon, and the only ones who could use it would be ones with 10 Gym bags, meaning her friend Percival needed to obtain it. Though there was a problem with that, as the previous day he fought several hard battles with little time to rest, he was most likely exhausted… Not to forget two other people who might have issues climbing a mountain in their current conditions. Aya and Hardy, despite the fact they survived getting hit over a mountain without any major injuries, they probably couldn't move too well. Though that was too be discussed soon.
Right now, Hardy and Lucille had entered Agate Circus Big Top Arena tent. "Well… hearing you have a brother in Team Meteor is pretty strange. But I still gotta give ya credit for dealing with my sister."
"Well… She seems to be a bit overprotective." Lucille defended, thinking if she was Titania's shoes, she might have told Hardy to not go either. "I mean thinking about it… You really have no reason to go after Team Meteor."
"Well, from what you're sayin'. You, Percival, and Aya's brother are mixed up. Not too sure on how Aya feels. But I doubt she'd let him go off on his own." Hardy refuted. "And no way I ain't going to let Meteor do what they've been doing either. It does seem like They're responsible for the sleeping spell at agate too."
"It's your decision." Lucille said, turning the handle to the room where Aya, Cain, Marie and Percival should be in. "I won't force—"
As she opened the door, Lucille found that Aya and Cain were in the middle of a cursing match. "Jerk." "Bitch." "Dick." "Hag." "Asshole." "Spinster." "Bitch."
"I already said that one." Cain teased with a smile.
"I don't care!" Aya annoyed shouted back.
"Love ya…" Cain sang with his smile.
"…Love you too. Sometimes." Aya grumbled, looking over spotting Hardy and Lucille had finally returned. Aya quickly rushed over to Hardy.
"Ah, Lucille you're back." Percival sighed in relief as he saw that Lucille returned.
"Lucy!" Marie jumped greeting her.
"Yeah… and we have some news…" Lucille sighed, where Percival could tell it wasn't going to be good news.
"Yeah, there's some crazy stuff going on in Calcenon." Hardy answered for Lucille. "Team Meteor has gone and taken Labradorra hostage."
""""What?!"""" The four people who've been here shouted.
"That means… I feel more guilty about leaving…" Marie muttered in a low voice, as she was recently in Calcenon, probably moments before the battle began. She wondered if she was still there if she could have changed things.
"Marie, what's done is done." Percival patted her head, trying to console his 10-year-old sister. "What's more pressing is that we need to get to Calcenon as soon as possible."
"Well, there's a problem mate." Hardy sighed. "In order to get there a trainer needs to use Surf. Gym Leaders are an exception to use any TM they need, but regular trainers…"
"We need certain a number of badges." Cain said. "I guess this is a down side of turning down being the next Poison Leader."
"…" Aya stayed silent as Cain said that.
"Though, then I guess, Aya wouldn't have met Hardy." Seeing the look on Aya's face, Cain changed his pace. "I guess that's a good enough trade off."
"Well Agate Circus has three, don't they?" Percival remembered talking to the Agate Leaders. And How they do their gym battles. "But… they use some sort of Battle pass system. When I asked how to get one… Well, they weren't too particular on sharing."
"Sorry, mate. But I ain't be able to battle you unless were in my gym." Hardy shrugged; he knew how pressing it was. "Besides, I hear you have nine badges. But you're not close to my level yet."
"Well, I've heard you're ranked second in the Gym Leaders." Percival understood, he probably wouldn't be able to beat Hardy in his current state.
"Well for the battle pass, I met Titania and Amaria. They were kind enough to give one to you." Lucille said pulling out the pass.
"That's good and all, but… I don't think any of us has the TM for surf. Am I wrong?" Aya intervened bringing in a bit of sense to the group.
"If Percival can Beat Samson. Then Amaria and Titania said they'd gladly give us one." Lucille continued.
"Well, that's a plan." Percival nodded.
"Wait." Maire interjected, "If gym Leaders can use the TM freely why can't we just go already?"
"Well… I was discussing that with Hardy on the way over." Lucille called attention to the matters at hand. "One, apparently most water types can carry two people at most. Since there's six of us… that's an issue. Two, I'm still a bit worried about the physical states of Hardy, Aya, and Percival."
"…" Percival stayed silent… even he was unsure if he could go fight a gym battle, climb a mountain, and then join in a fight against Meteor… all in one day.
"Yeah, my body's still aching…" Hardy groaned. "I feel like I got run over by a pack of Bouffalant."
"Ugh… I feel like I took an earthquake to the face." Aya groaned as well. She and Hardy landed without major injury, but… a flight like that is still with its tolls.
"Terra did treat you two like a croquet ball… So, close enough." Cain shuddered, remembering the sight of Aya and Hardy being sent flying. "I mean, I'm surprised you guys even survived."
"So… I'll suggest we should spend the night recuperating and take off the next morning." Percival decided. Though feeling somewhat confident in his abilities. "Though, I think I should be fine to give Agate Circus a good show tonight."
"Percy…" Lucille looked at him somewhat worried for how he was thinking.
"It'll be fine." Percival smiled in assurance. "I've been resting since you've left. A Gym battle should be fine."
"C'mon, Lucy. It's just a Gym Battle, the worst thing he can do is pass out in middle of it." Cain sided with Percival. Where his slight flinch was unnoticed by everyone. He never was exactly clear on how his battle with the Previous Fighting Type Leader ended, did he? Well, I guess it was less embarrassing to just say he lost. Instead of passing out.
"Fine…" Lucille half-heartedly agreed.
"Ooh! We get to see Percival fight, nice!" Marie smiled, very intrigued to see how this battle would occur.
Time: 20:00
Location: Agate Circus
A few hours pass: Percival has talked with Samson, getting the registration for the Gym Battle. It was rather good that the group scheduled to leave tomorrow. As the Agate Circus usually plans to have Gym Battles as the final act for the night.
Now… Here in the Big Top Arena. The stands filled with many onlookers, some there by choice, others forced to watch as they have no better place to go since Agate City has shut down. Either way there was quite the crowd among the stands. The lights all pointed down to the middle stand. Where a woman stood, black hair and a reddish suit and hat. This was Agate Circus Ringmaster. Holding a microphone near her face, her voice resounded through the tent. "Ladies aaaaand gentlemen! Your attention please to an exciting exclusive challenge to the esteemed Agate Ace Triumvirate of leaders!" As the Ring master Announced the Lights quickly shifted to the left side of the arena. Flashing on a boy with white hair, blue eyes, "Today, in the left corner, we have a first-time challenger to Agate... Percival Wisteria!"
As his name was called, there were several cheers from the crowd. More prominently heard was a few of Percival's friends. "You got this Percy~" "Mind over matter you got this!" "Show 'em that Whi—Wisteria spirit!"
"…" Percival a bit unsure how to deal with this stage. Just smiled and waved.
"And in the right corner—" The Ringmaster called, as the crowd started to settle down, the lights flashed to the right side of the arena. Showing a burly Man with light brown hair. "You've seen him at the striker, busting bells into the sky... And now you're gonna see him on the center stage as he shows us what POWER really means! He's the Agate Circus... Strongman..." She paused to create a moment of suspense. "SAAAAAAMSOOOOON!"
"How we all doin' tonight?" Samson smirked hearing the crowds cheer for the upcoming battle
"WOOOH!" The crowd cheered loudly as Samson spoke
"And the contestants are ready!" The ringmaster left the center of the battle field moving off to the side raising her arm. "This will be a 6-on-6 single battle!"
"All right." Samson smirked towards Percival. "Let's see an all-in and knock out fight!"
"I wouldn't have it any other way." Percival responded in kind, with a smile of his own.
Within a second the two tossed out a Pokémon. On the left came out a large bulky Pokémon, with narrow eyes and rounded ears. On its head is a short, triangular crest. Dark blue hair grows across the tops of its eyes, around the head crest, and extends down its back to form a long ponytail. Samson had sent out a Hariyama. "Hari!"
"Garde…" Percival brought a human like Pokémon. Though the dress was a flowing white like most Gardevoir, instead of the usual green, Artemis sported black. It was a unique appearance of Gardevoir, Artemis was obviously shiny, but with origins from the Reborn Region.
"hmm… Well, this is quite the tricky one." Percival saw the strength of the Hariyama. "Artemis, Moon Blast!"
"Gar…" Artemis' eyes glowed pink, causing the Moon Blast lights around the arena to change in color. Causing a more lunar effect across the battle field. Then with in a second Artemis condensed a ball of pinkish energy, blasting it into Hariyama.
"Har…" The Hariyama fell to one knee. The attack Artemis had launched was powerful.
"Hariyama. You can power through this." Samson incited his Hariyama. "That Gardevoir ain't gonna bring you down. Use Heavy slam!"
"Hari!" The Hariyama got up and charged at Artemis.
"Artemis." Percival simply said. Artemis' eyes glowed, and as the Hariyama approached she disappeared, then reappeared behind the Hariyama. "Psychic."
"Gar!" Her eyes glowed blue as she projected much psychic energy into the Hariyama. Knocking it down.
"There goes the first round!" The Ring Master waved a flag. "Hariyama is unable to battle!"
"Hmp… That first round was lucky." Samson grunted. Switching to his next Pokémon. "Lucario, Meteor Mash!"
Samson instantly released his second Pokémon. The blue canine, aura Pokémon. Its speed was impressive as it took only one step before landing its fists into Artemis. "Lu!"
"G-g-g…Gar…" Artemis was unexpectant of the instant attack fell.
"Cario." The Lucario as Artemis fell jumped back, readying its next move.
"What a turn of events folks, an instant takedown from Samson!" The ringmaster waved the flag, announcing the results. "Gardevoir is now unable to battle."
"That was a fast attack." Percival commented. "Though, mine can move faster. Oracle! Mystical Fire!"
"…" Out came a bipedal fox Pokémon with red and orange fur. The fur around his body, was coat like. Though the notable feature of, Oracle was the wand-like stick. With a single glance, the stick's end flickered with a flame, then spinning the wand in a circle. The flame left an orange circle in the air, then it released a stream of orange fire at the Lucario, taking it down instantly.
"OOooh!" Ringmaster sounded. "Back-to-back instant take downs. Now isn't that something. Either way, Lucario is now unable to battle!"
"Well… You know what they say. You gotta fight Fire with Fire!" samson laughed, taking out his third Pokémon for the fight. "Go Blaziken."
Out came the bipedal Blaze Pokémon. The majority of Blaziken's body is red with accents of beige, yellow, and gray. Behind its head, there are beige, hair-like feathers that continue downward and surround its chest and abdomen. It has a small red face with a V-shaped crest on its head. Blaziken's blue eyes are semicircular with yellow sclerae, and its mouth is similar to hooked beak. It has featherless, gray hands with three fingers each, and three clawed toes that are not normally visible due to the shaggy, yellow feathers on the bottom of its legs. "Blaze."
"Oracle, psychic!" Percival called. Oracle raised the stick, the flame and eyes turning a blue color, sending a burst of psychic energy at the Blaziken.
"Protect." Samson quietly muttered, but the Blaziken heard sending up a clear shield that protected itself from the psychic energy. Then with a quick smirk. "Acrobatics!"
Using the powerful legs that Blaziken had, it jumped from the ground at a high velocity, then jumping between the rafters causing Oracle to lose site of the Pokémon. It was then that the Pokémon landed nimbly and silently behind oracle, swinging its leg. "Delph—"
"Oracle, Psychic Quick!" Percival shouted as he was unable keep up with the Blaziken as well. But as Oracle launched another barrage of psychic energy the Blaziken was able to doge the blast.
"Heh, we'll only be getting faster from here on out." Samson mocked, as his Blaziken got another boost from its speed boost ability.
"If we can't track with our physical eyes… then I guess we'll go with mental. Oracle, ready yourself." Percival commanded. Where Oracle held the wand like stick clutched in both paws in front of itself. The flame on the stick was a bright red, closing his eyes Oracle began to focus.
"…" Samson looked at Percival's plan strangely. There were also murmurs from the crowd as the stance Oracle had looked more like the Pokémon was praying. "I don't know what you're planning, but Blaziken here won't lose to any psychic type. Acrobatics again!"
"Blaze." The Blaziken again started it's jumping between the rafters at insane speeds once again. The crowd immediately losing sight of the Pokémon as its speed has now tripled. But at this point, Percival wasn't looking to track it that way.
Recalling his fight with Luna the Dark-Type Leader of Reborn. She described how a certain trainer, the brother of Lucille, Nero could use the prophetical sight of an Absol to predict the moves of another Pokémon. When Percival heard of it, he was impressed yet also worried about ever facing Grim ever again. But then Percival quickly recalled a few passages about certain Psychic type Pokémon, and how some of them had the same ability to look into the future. So, after that battle he thought to himself, if Nero could do it. Then why couldn't his Pokémon as well. The Pokémon in point was Oracle, with the entry of [It gazes into the flame at the tip of its branch to achieve a focused state, which allows it to see into the future.]
Patiently Oracle focused at the flame on the stick. The Blaziken soon to strike, leaping from the final rafter it launched itself at Oracle. As the Blaziken left the rafters, the flame flickered, oracle swiftly waving the wand sent a burst of psychic energy at the Blaziken. Without anywhere to move in the midair the Blaziken took the attack in full.
"Woah… Would you look at that folks! Percival took down Samson's too fast to act strategy in one move! Leaving Blaziken unable—" The Ring master was unable to finish that sentence as Oracle fell as well. Exhausted from the stress of predicting the future in a short span. "Um… Both Pokémon are unable to battle! May both parties send out their next Pokémon!"
"(…I guess predicting the future is more strenuous than I could have guessed… It's curious on how Nero does it so easily.)" Lucille watching the battle, understood what just happened. "(Percival's Delphox couldn't do it… will I be able to with Hope?)"
"I guess we still need to work out the finer points of that…" Percival sighed, "Oracle you did a good job, return. Go Aeros!"
"Come on out Mienshao." Samson tossed out his Pokémon, a white, long-bodied Pokémon with a small head and small, triangular ears.
"Aero!" Cried the grey dragon like Pokémon, Aeros the Aerodactyl.
There was a murmured cry from the crowd. "Wait? He has an Aerodactyl?!"
"Mien." The Mienshao sneered at Aeros.
"Blaziken may have been fast, but that's only as the battle progresses. Mienshao ain't going to shirk off from a flying type." Samson taunted. "But even still Mienshao ain't my fastest mon yet."
"Well, Aeros let's show them how powerful ancient beast of the sky is." Percival smirked his own. "Aeros Aerial Ace!"
"Mienshao Brick Break!" Samson shouted.
"Aero!" Aeros flapped its large wings, gaining immense speed flying straight into the Mienshao. While the Mienshao was unable to defend, it used it's long sleeve like arms slamming its arm into Aeros.
"…" The two Pokémon glared at each other as they threw each other back.
"…Aeros." Percival looked to his Pokémon.
"Aer." Aeros nodded. From that one attack, Aeros understood. "Aero!"
"Mienshao their planning on going all out. Be ready." Samson warned.
"…" Mienshao silently watched.
"Aero!" Aeros flapped its wings, going high into the air. Then at the peak of its speed sped towards Mienshao. As it got close Mienshao once again swung its arm, but as it was about to hit Aeros. Aeros barrel rolled, flipping upside-down, catching the attack with its foot, but that wasn't all. With a maw full of crackling electricity, Aeros chomped into the Mienshao with its thunderous fang.
"Mien!" The Mienshao cried as it fell from the shock of being bit.
"And another one down!" Ring Master shouted. Raising a flag signaling for Mienshao's defeat. "Samson is now down to two Pokémon."
"You're more tenacious than I thought, kid." Samson smirked. It wasn't everyday he got to battle.
"Eh, it's just that my Pokémon are stubborn. We know several people that we must defeat. Given that, we're not about to lose to you." Percival countered; it was a bit embarrassing to be in such lime light. But Percival wasn't backing down. Though he knew that the attacks of Mienshao were powerful, and Aeros wouldn't last in another brawl. "Though, Aeros you have the right to retire for this battle."
"aero…" Aeros willingly returned to its pokeball.
"Well, that's a pretty bold play. Especially since I'm about to bring out my fastest Pokémon." Samson shrugged. Tossing out a birdlike Pokémon with colorful plumage. Its head curves into a beak-shape in the front, but its mouth is located in a white patch under the beak's curve. It has a blue-green mask-like marking across its face, an orange blaze running from its forehead to the back of its neck, an orange ring around each eye, and a small, red patch at the tip of its beak.
"Then I guess we'll just have to slow you down. Isn't that right, Phoebe." Percival said bringing out a tannish serpent, with two long pinkish antennae, and a tail full of colorful scales. This was Phoebe, Percival's Milotic.
"milo." With her serpentine body, Phoebe coiled for a defensive stance against the Hawlucha.
"Hawlucha, you've handled water types before, show them how acrobatic you are." Samson said. The nimble weaving through the rafters and lights with ease.
"Phoebe, try to keep the scalding temperatures in check. Rather not owe them for the lights." Percival led the phrase. Where Phoebe listened shooting out a stream of hot water. Though most of it had missed hitting Hawlucha, soaking the rafters around, it had done some damage, though far from being able to stop the Hawlucha.
"Haw!" The Hawlucha shrugged off the temped water, landing before the Milotic swinging at her.
"Milo!"
"Hawlucha keep going, it can't last that much longer!" Samson commanded, where Hawlucha continued its assault.
"Sorry, but it'll be hard to do so frozen! Phoebe!" Percival smirked, as his plan had gone through.
"MILO!" With the Hawlucha soaked by a controlled temperature scald. It was more than easy for Phoebe to cause the moisture in the air to quickly freeze. With the soaked plumage of the Hawlucha, it wasn't long before the Hawlucha was unable to take another swing.
"Hawlucha is frozen solid! Therefore, unable to battle!" Ringmaster Referee flagged. "This round lands to Percival. Samson is on his final Pokémon! Meanwhile Percival still has half his team! How will Samson react!"
"No sweat." Samson shrugged, confidently tossing out his final Pokémon. "We've been in worse positions."
"Con…" The Pokémon that came out a bipedal sepia-colored Pokémon resembling an ogre. A large red nose, and two concrete pillars were the more prominent traits of this Pokémon. This was Conkeldurr.
"Phoebe, this is a certainly strong Pokémon. I doubt our last move will work. Give this Conkeldurr everything you got. Hydro Pump!" Percival commanded, understanding that while Conkeldurr wasn't the fastest Pokémon Samson had. It certainly was a cut above the others. {A/N: No kidding, in the game majority of Samson's team is 64, meanwhile Conkeldurr is 71}
"Milo!" Phoebe followed without hesitation, creating a massive powerful stream of water. Being launched at the Conkeldurr.
"Kel." The Conkeldurr smirked, with little movement tossed the pillar of concrete through the streaming Hydro Pump. There was a small shockwave from the toss. The pillar moved with ease through the water, still enough force to hit straight into Phoebe.
"…" The crowd and even Percival were stunned at this event. With barely making any movements the Conkeldurr easily took down Phoebe.
"Ah… Turn of events folks! Samson's Conkeldurr easily took down the Milotic. Rending it unable to battle!" Ringmaster announced somewhat surprised herself.
"…" Percival quickly wondered through the possibilities of outcomes for his Pokémon. Aeros was too damaged from its previous fight, unlikely being able to scratch the Skin of the Conkeldurr. Vee, Percival's Leafeon, was rather quick and nimble… but Percival knew she wouldn't be able to slice through those thick concrete pillars. It was quite the dilemma Percival was at.
"Heh, Conkeldurr here might not bet very fast. But his mind and body are as strong as concrete." Samson boasted, seeing as Percival was searching for a strategy to win.
"Concrete?" Percival cocked his head to the side, "What about Steel?"
"Meta." A blue metal Pokémon came out. With four giant metal claws, a circular disk body, red eyes, and a signature silver 'X' across it's face. This was the Pseudo Legendary known as Metagross, but more commonly to Percival and his friends as Steel.
"Would you look at this folk!" Ring master raised her voice in interest. "It's the next bout seemingly with Titan versus and Ogre! Who will win this battle only you can wait to see!"
While the battle between for Percival and Samson was going into its next stage. there was a small conversation in the crowd between. Aya, Cain, Hardy, Lucille, and Marie. Cain with starting with the cheering. "Woooh! Percy's got this in the bag!"
"I wouldn't be so sure, Cain." Lucille warned, "That Conkeldurr looks pretty rough."
"Ah come on you can't say that." Cain was astonished by what Lucille said. "C'mon, Marie you're with me, right?"
"…" Marie ignored Cain paying more attention to the battle.
"Hah…" Aya sighed, remembering her own battle against Percival. And his own use of steel. "Metagross, definitely a slayer of poison types. But fighting types it really could go either way. While it may have a tough exterior, a lot of fighting types can easily bend steel. And—"
She was interrupted midsentence by Marie now shouting. "Wait what?! Did that Conkeldurr just toss away it's other Concrete Pillar?!"
Looking at the battle so far. To say the least it wasn't a nimble fight, but more of a locking of blows. The Conkeldurr managed to block several of Steel's punches with its concrete pillars, but as of now it had tossed them both to the side.
"Guess, it's really getting serious then." Hardy remarked. "Conkeldurr when they go all out, toss their pillars to the side and pummel their opponent with their fists."
"…" Marie was surprised to hear this. Despite having a good knowledge of Pokémon, none her family had tried a mastery in Fighting types. "… I think it had better chances with the Pillars."
"Eh, it looks pretty even to me." Hardy shrugged, "But back to what Aya was saying. Steel-Types are weak to Fighting. Even if the Metagross has a resistance through its psychic type. A lot of fighting types also know dark moves. It still can be anyone's game."
"Well, I think I'll feel better if he wins with that Metagross." Aya shrugged, she lost to Percival before. It's only a matter of perspective for her to feel better.
"What still sore that Percy beat, ya?" Cain said with a teasing smile.
"I think that's rich coming from someone who has never beaten Percy." Lucille smiled with a small counter of her own.
"Ah-Hey… Lucy whose side are you on?!" Cain shouted at Lucille, who simply shrugged.
"Well, even still… Marie, do you think Percival will win?" Hardy tried to change the subject back to the battle.
"Steel is one of Percival's trusted Pokémon that he got from Grandfather." Marie nodded, still more focused on the battle. "Percival raised Steel very well, one he's had since he was younger than me. Like Artemis, Vee, and Phoebe."
"Yeah… He's said that before." Lucille loosely noted.
"I don't really remember Grandfather. But I do remember hearing things like him saying that—" Marie cut off midsentence. "Um… never mind."
"Well, it doesn't matter." Hardy said, looking down at the battle unfold. "It's really all about the bond of the Pokémon. Not to mention which can shake the stadium harder. From of the looks of it. Percival is certainly shaking this stadium."
Back to the battle at hand. Steel and Conkeldurr had dealt several heavy blows to each other. But neither were backing down. Now it was in a grapple match, where Steel's front claws were being held by the hands of the Conkeldurr. It seemed like an even match.
"Samson your strong, but not very flexible." Percival's trust in Steel was as strong as well… steel. "Meteor Mash now!"
"Meta!" Steel Roared, pushing it's back claws off of the ground with enough force it made Conkeldurr go off balance. In losing balance, Conkeldurr staggard backwards. With that as it's moment, Steel swiveled its legs, shifting its body upwards, then hitting Conkeldurr in the back.
"Kel!" The Conkeldurr cried as it fell face first knocked out.
"In an impressive turn off events Conkeldurr is unable to battle." The Ringmaster Announced. "Samson is out of Pokémon; therefore, Percival is the victor!"
"Tch… Well, it isn't the worst thing I've lost." Samson sighed returning his Conkeldurr to the pokeball. "Well, we got chewed up and spit out. Good match, Percival."
"No, I have to thank you for the great match." Percival nodded and bowed to his opponent. The crowd cheering for Percival's victory.
"Now for Percival," The Ringmaster moved over to Percival. "One braand new Strike Badge" Then turning to the crowd. "This is Percival's tenth Gym Badge allowing him to use the Machine Surf outside of battle, as well as a slight boost in physical attack to all their Pokémon!" Signaling for Samson and Percival to leave. The Ringmaster said her final words before closing ceremony. "And for those of you itching to challenge Samson or our other leaders of the Agate Ace Triumvirate... Just find those Battle Passes! Thanks for coming, everyone!"
A/N: Final thing before I continue… in the battle I had Percival experiment with his Delphox to try and predict the future. Since Absol's are Pokémon that can predict the future (More/less disasters) it would make sense other Pokémon could as well. In Pokedex entries there are several Pokémon that can also do this. Majority are psychic types. Good examples are Gardevoir and Delphox, but reading into the Pokedex it seems that it can only be used in times of great focus (Delphox's case) or in times where their trainer is in trouble. [It has the power to predict the future. Its power peaks when it is protecting its Trainer.]. meaning Percival can't do it that easily, Lucille sure has hell won't be able to do it when she gets first Hope… at least not without expending a great amount of energy. Comparing them to Nero, Nero has had years to perfect this skill, but even still he can't use infinitely. Well, that's all for this time. See you all… eventually!
